It's been a while, yes, but I'm looking to closing out this story soon. The school year will be done not only in real life but also in the story and then I'm going to complete this story. Thank you for those of you who read it, enjoy it, and review it.
I did like sort of a huge time skip, but here it is. We're set in the beginning of March according to my story and my characters are getting ready for Spring Break and finishing off their senior year.

School had really gone by in a blur. A total blur.
Alex was excited about going to DU. Part of me was glad that she didn't ask about what I had planned to do once school was over. I knew she was hoping that I go to college with her. But I had made my mother a promise.
If I had been behaved this school year then perhaps she would let me go to college. However, nothing had come up and she still was insisting that I join her and Nita over in Washington DC.
Alex had started to take other college prep and after school classes on the side to help with getting her into a good program in college. Aidan was set on either continuing to play football or following his father's footsteps. Yes, like becoming a police officer. Since their father was the commissioner, Aidan hoped to make it that far one day too.
Alex on the other hand wanted to go into law. Considering that her hobbies were reading and writing, I found it kind of hard to picture her in that area. Of course I told her. We were at that part of our relationship where she didn't get offended easily if I disagreed with her and she often valued my opinion and input.
Then it surprised me one day when she asked if she could come with me when I helped my mom on her campaign in DC.
Two things came to my mind:
One, I did not want Alex and my mom to interact any more than they already have.
Two, I hardly thought about what to do during spring break. I wasn't really looking forward to going with my Mom and sister to DC. I wanted Alex to invite me to stay with her folks again.
"Your parents would let you come with me," I asked her.
"I talked to my Dad about it. He said that he's okay with it."
"Really," I raised an eyebrow at her.
"He doesn't know that your mom is going to be there. He thinks that you and I are going to stay at your house in Erudite," she said quietly.
That was kind of shocking. Almost immediately I started to laugh.
"What?"
"Your dad is okay with you staying alone with your boyfriend while his mom and sister are gone?" She nodded as I started to chuckle. "You and me alone in a house? All by ourselves? You sure your Dad is okay?" She nodded again confused.
"Why do you keep asking?"
"Alex because most teenage girls are not allowed to stay with their teenage boyfriends alone in a house while there is no supervision. Especially if said girl is dating the boy in question. There might be," I ran my hand down her arm slowly. "Activities that came up while they are alone."
She started to laugh and pushed my hand away. "That came up and he mentioned that he was assured by my mother that she and I spoke about those certain activities. Seriously Eric, he's okay with it."
"He trusts me that much with his daughter?"
Alex playfully hit me. "I'm pretty sure it's more so that my Dad trusts me to make the right decisions in this situation. My Dad was more so concerned about who is going to cooking for us, if I'll have enough spending money, where the nearest evacuation center is if there's an earthquake, tornado, or freak storm. Besides when I asked him, my grandpa was over and of course just talked on and on about you," she rolled her eyes. "How you are a nice young man, good football player, really smart, has a lot on his shoulders, but really mature for Alex, he helps keep Alex grounded, blah, blah, blah," she waved her hand.
"I'm so glad your grandparents like me, too," I smiled. It was a weird feeling to say the least that after all the things I did last year and who the person my mother was that Alex's parents and grandparents were okay with me dating Alex.
"Again, they're okay with me going to stay with you, but I haven't really told them about going with you to DC to be with your mom," she admitted shyly.
"I didn't even think that I was going to meet my mom," I told her. "I was hoping to stay with you and your parents again. But you know," I smiled and pulled her closely to my side, which made her smile excitedly. "I think I'm liking the idea of just you and me alone in Erudite," I said softly in her ear, nuzzling into her neck.
"Eric," she tried to squirm away but I kept her close to me. She bit her bottom lip, trying to play coy.
By now I had pulled her completely on my lap. She looked around and tried to climb off, telling me we were in the library, but at this point I didn't really care. We had talked about my Mom, way too much for my liking. Not to mention that her bringing up being alone with me for one whole week, I was liking that idea. I ran one of my hands slowly up her leg, under her skirt, hooking her closer onto me while we started to kiss.
Her hands started to untuck my shirt out of my pants and run along my abs slowly. I pulled away from the kiss watching her as her eyes seemed fixed on what she was doing. Her hands only stayed at the front though. I grabbed one of Alex's hands and moved it
"This is pretty naughty, making out in the library," she grind her body on top of me slowly, while whispering into my ear.
"We're supposed to be studying for Physics, Miss Kent," I told her, slightly biting onto her neck.
"Well, Mr. Matthews," Alex returned the favor, making me groan. "We can do a little physical experiment," she pulled back biting her bottom lip.
"It's been a while hasn't it?"
"Yes, it has," her hands started to undo my pants buckle. Seriously here in the library, we were going to have a little fun? Right on, I thought. I pulled her back unbuttoning her shirt to move my hand in and almost instantly she moaned loudly. It had been too long. Ever since that night at Zeke and Uriah's parent's cabin, Alex and I hadn't spent that much time alone. We were just so busy with school. I had to admit that it being a while, along with the dirty thought she put in my head, added with the idea of her and I alone in my home back at Erudite, just made me a bit too sexually excited right now.
"Eric," she almost squealed when I put my head down to her chest as a couple buttons just magically undid themselves. "We're still out in public," she laughed.
I groaned and kissed her neck, biting and sucking on it harder as she started to grind on me again.
"Then stop trying to get me all turned on and shit," I told her. She knew how that was torture for me.
"You need to stop, too, then," she warned me.
"Both of you cut it out already," Four said slamming his books on the table that we were seated at. Damn that Four. I gave Alex a quick kiss, holding her for just a small moment longer.
"Hey Alex," said Tris.
"Hey," Alex replied softly as I finally let her return to her own chair.
I stood a little to tuck back in my shirt. I looked over at Alex to see her school shirt still a little unbuttoned at the top and decided that we pick up later. It really had been way too long. I threw Four a glance who just smirked evilly.
"So how is the studying coming along," Tris asked making a suggestive smile over at Alex.
"Really well actually," Alex replied just as suggestive. The both of them burst out in laughter. It must have been an inside joke or something, because Four seemed a bit confused as well.
We started to talk about plans after school. It was already the beginning of March. Spring Break was in a week and a lot of college deadlines were closing already. I still hadn't made a decision. A lot of the guys knew so Four stayed clear from asking me about it. It was either help my mom in DC or stay back in Divergent State and run things for them here. That was the only two options my mom gave me.
The fact that I did have that gossip published about me in December didn't help at all. Not to mention my mother did not like Alex's parents because they didn't see eye to eye on a lot of policy changes that my mother was doing. Also her and my sister was involved in those illegal activities last year and then hid their tracks so well, blaming others like Alex's Dad, Four's Dad, Tris's Dad, Will's Dad, Edward's Dad. Basically all my friend's parents. Another reason why the guys and I had problems last year.
"What field are you planning on taking up," Four asked Alex.
"Law."
"Same as Aidan," stated Tris.
"Not really. I actually don't know what I want to do."
"I thought you said law," replied Four.
"Well, I want to go into law. I'm not sure if I want to become a police offer like Aidan. I don't know if I want to make the laws and work for Congress or the Senate. I don't know if I want to defend people like a lawyer or attorney. I just know that I want to do something in that field. I want to work for others, make a better community for others," Alex explained.
"That sounds good," Four nodded. "You have something in mind, but haven't narrowed it down yet. Perhaps you'll figure it out when you are in college, you know? Actually see which department of law needs the most help and then go there."
"Or something might happen that interests you more. Say you are doing schooling to become a lawyer and somewhere instead of defending the law, you want to instead amend them. Since you're already in that field, it'll be easier to adjust," offered Tris.
I smirked and turned to Alex. "Gee do you remember someone else telling you that too?" She slightly shoved me as we started to laugh. I was the one who told her that. Perhaps her calling would come to her when she actually was in College. And maybe, just maybe I'd be there with her too.
The next couple days were also hectic. No Alex time. I hated it.
She had a softball game and the fact that they made her pitcher I was kind of irritated. I was proud of her, don't get me wrong. But this just meant that we spent even less time together. When we all found out Molly was pregnant, she ended up leaving school, finishing off her classes at home. She still had a lot of time to give birth, but she didn't want to stay in school. Drew was a mess and it irritated Peter and Will a lot too.
Molly passed on her softball captain status to Lauren which was hard to do. This of course irritated Peter, because he didn't see much of Lauren either. The fact that Lauren and Alex were close, meant that Lauren pulled Alex onto the team with her. This all got to Will because Drew was part of the same clubs as Christina. But Drew was voted President for most of them with Christina being Vice President. With Drew being a mess, Christina stepped up, causing Will's visits to Christina and Alex's room to decrease drastically.
"At first I didn't mind," Will admitted during lunch one day. "But now, it's like. It's like the dry lands dammit!" Will's birthday was next month. We were all slowly turning eighteen. Mine was in a few days. He and Christina hadn't even talked about that.
"Lauren's been busy too," said Peter as he played with his food.
"Actually they've all been busy," said Justin. We all turned to look at him.
I ended up wiping my mouth, put the napkin down and looked at him seriously. "You've been spending time with them, lately haven't you?"
Justin let out a sigh. "I have Tris, Marlene, and Lauren in all of my classes. We're on a group project together. Alex, Shauna, Lynn, and Myra are like in half of my classes. I mostly see them in class. The conversation around all them is about after high school. I think with the whole thing about Molly getting pregnant is getting to them. Did Drew tell you folks that Molly wants to keep the baby now?"
"No," replied Peter. "Last I heard his older brother was going to adopt it."
"Well, Molly wants to keep it now. She told the girls over a video chat. She got a part time job for now, she's going to stay home, work, and take online courses for college. It's going to be hard work, but she basically gave a lot for the girls to think about," Justin explained.
Just then I turned and saw Alex walking out of the dining hall. "I'll be back." I stood up quickly and found her right before she hit the end of the hallway and out of the building.
"Hey," I pulled her back and into a hug.
"Hey," she smiled pulling back. "What's wrong?"
"I just," I paused and ran my hands down her face. "What are you doing tonight?"
"I'm working strategy with Lauren. The game is tomorrow," she replied.
"Of course you are," I muttered. She picked up on it immediately.
"Look Eric. I know we haven't spent time together, but there's Spring Break. You'll see me everyday" she smiled, leaned up and kissed me quickly.
I walked back into the dining hall, somewhat defeated. It was then that Four called a 'guy's night'.
"We'll play video games, eat a bunch of junk food, maybe do a few shots, too," said Zeke encouraging it on. "It'll be fine."
"They'll all be busy anyways," added Uriah. "I'm game."
So that's what we did that night. Playing Xbox, Playstation, taking a few shots, doing a few dares. Just the guys.
"I passed my exam," Alex let out a sigh, dumping herself onto the table the following Monday. They won their game this past weekend and we did actually hold a party in the old science building to celebrate. But most of the time, she danced with the girls. So when they joined us for lunch on Monday we were sort of shocked.
"Did you have any doubt," I asked her kissing her cheek, leaving my lips there as she let out another sigh.
"A little, yeah," she said softly. "Hey," she pulled back happily. "Christina is going to be staying at Will's room tonight. I thought you'd spend the night with me tonight?"
I looked over at Will and saw him and Christina smiling about something. "Where is Uriah going," I asked Alex.
"You didn't hear?" I shook my head. "He got the tickets for the Bruno Mars concert. He's taking Marlene."
"That's right. That's tonight, I totally forgot," I said shaking my head. "No wonder your brother told me bye this morning."
"Yeah, he wasn't in class," she looked around. "You mean to tell me he went early to take Cara home?"
A lot of the people spit out their water, soda, food, whatever was in their mouth at the time. "He and Cara are at your folks house now?"
"Shhh," Alex shushed me and looked over at Will. "Aidan snuck over to the Erudite Prep campus last night."
"No he didn't," said Edward.
"Yes, he did," Alex replied. She glanced over at Myra, causing Edward to look over too.
"They had sort of been planning it for a while. They already slept together," Myra admitted causing more eruptions around the table. Christina and Will looked up. Alex assured Christina that it was nothing, so she continued to talk to Will.
"You mean to tell me that Aidan and Cara both lost their virginity," said Four. "Wow."
"Wait, how do you know that my brother was a virgin," Alex asked.
"He literally did not date any girls here in Dauntless," I answered. "He was just all sports and school. When I took him to spend Spring Break at my house and Edward, Will, and his sister joined us, you could tell he was interested in her."
"Cara was the same. All studying all the time. That's basically what happens at Erudite," Myra rolled her eyes.
"How did you two girls find out and Aidan didn't even bother to tell us," I asked Alex.
"Cara told us. Apparently it wasn't where she pictured it would happen, but she liked everything about that night," Myra shook her head as we both started to giggle.
"So," I nudged Alex expectantly.
"Oh I'm not telling you," she shook her head.
"Wait so let me get this straight," I told her. "We brought the tickets for Aidan for his eighteenth birthday. He's taking Cara to the concert, but first they are at your folks house and you two knew about this?" They both nodded away. "Do your parents know," I spoke softly to only Alex.
"Aidan spoke to my Dad about it," Alex confessed. "It's what prompted my Mom to talk to me and Myra about staying alone with you folks at Zeke's parent's cabin."
"They slept together during this past intercession," I asked.
"Right after New Years," Alex said with an uncertain look on her face. "I thought he tell you at least."
"No, he," I started but then shook my head and chuckled. I know why he didn't tell me. I remembered a conversation he was having on the phone with Cara and they were starting to talk a bit dirty, which shocked me a little. It wasn't until Aidan said over the phone that he couldn't stop thinking about that night. It was then over the phone that he told Cara that he loved her. He must have said it to her before, because there was no hesitation in his voice. None whatsoever. But that was the first time I heard him say it. I remember later that night he subtly told me they did.
"Don't you think the most beautiful thing is when the girl you love looks up at you and whispers that she loves you and that you not only hear it or feel it, but actually see it in her eyes and in her smile," he said that night blissfully staring at the ceiling. I just thought that he and Cara were in love, but come to think about it, he was remembering a moment form that night. That night that he and Cara became one.
