A breathtaking smile spread across Zach's face reaching his eyes. His eyes practically sparkled.
He looked like he was supposed to be young and happy.
I just mentally made it my mission in life to make Zach smile like that as much as I can.
I was broken out of my thoughts by the feeling of warmth fan across my face. My breathing hitched when I looked up to find Zach inches away from my lips, smirking as he stayed a teasing distance away.
Then my immune system decides to ruin the moment, as I feel the warning tickle clawing at my nose I snap my head to the side and bury it in the pillow to sneeze. I hear his deep warming chuckle.
Shyly turning my head to look at him, he smiles at me. He once again stokes my cheek lovingly "Get some rest Gallagher girl I'll wake you up in an hour..."
"But-" I start
"Rest" he orders playfully
"I don't wanna" I whine like a child
"So help me, if you don't close your eyes and go into the land were fairy's poop rainbows and unicorns rap I will...I will..." he trails off looking slightly confused. I raise an eyebrow at him, amused. Suddenly his face turns evil "...I will feed joey caffeine and lock him in this room with you" the idiot looks proud of himself
I roll my eyes at him. He smirks at me before kissing my cheek and getting up. He starts to make his way to the door when a thought pops in my head that I need to sort out.
"Zach!?" I call to his back, he turns around, raises an eyebrow while leaning on the door frame. He looks at me expectantly.
My hands suddenly become the most interesting thing "Gallagher girl?" he asks
"What are we?" I ask quietly I'm not sure if he heard me.
"Well..." he starts and pushes himself off the door frame turning away from me. "...When two people love each other they usually start a relationship. So hopefully I'm your boyfriend...maybe in a few years a sliver band will upgrade that title...I love you Cameron Morgan and I don't plan on ever giving you up..." he spoke while not looking at me, but I could hear the honesty and love in his words. He gives me one last look over his shoulder before closing the door.
I had to bite my lip to stop the massive grin that was forcing its way onto my face.
The silence in the room forces me to ponder my own thoughts...which also lead me to fall into a dreamless sleep.
"Psss" I voice whispers into my ear
I groan into my pillow "go away"
"Mummy?"
"Joey?" I ask groggy
"Mummy? What do you do when there's a fire" at that I shot up wide awake
"What? When? Where? How? Who?" I ask while swooping up Joey and jogging down the stairs.
Black smoke crawls out of the kitchen.
Oh crap.
A shadowy figure slowly emerges from the smoke. Zach fans the smoke away from himself as he looks up at me sheepishly. He must of seen the panic and worry on my face because he's quick to reassure me.
"errr...lasagna is harder to make than we thought?" it comes out more of a question than a answer.
I put Joey on the ground he runs to hide behind Zach. Traitor. I rest my weight on my left foot, cross my arms and raise an eyebrow.
"Explain" I order
Zach scratches the back of his neck "um, Joey and I tried to make you dinner and it didn't go to plan"
"I told you, you weren't suppose to put the heat up that much!" Joey whines from behind Zach
"And how would you know?" Zach asks
"I watch tv" Joey says sounding insulted
"Yeah too much" I grumble at Joey, he just sticks his tough at me.
Suddenly Joey starts jumping up and down."Mummy look! Look! Look! Look! Looooook!" he continues to jump on the spot
"I am looking at you" I laugh
"Zach do it! Show her" Joey looks at Zach expectantly. Zach blushes and rubs the back of his neck again. Joey pokes Zach in the stomach. Zach sighs in defeat.
"Who's the daddy?" he mumbles clearly embarrassed
"You the daddy" Joey giggles.
I point at Joey "No tv for a week" then I point at Zach "And you clean up the kitchen"
They both groan and walk into the kitchen. The butterflys were back in my stomach at the thought of Joey completely accepting Zach.
"Hey Gallagher girl?!" Zach calls from the kitchen
"yeah?!"
"Want to go to dinner with me?" I grin to myself
"Only if I can bring someone with me" I giggle
"I hope it's Joey because if not I'm worried" I jut laugh at him before a knock sounds at the door "I got it!"
I skip to the door. Josh stands nervously at the door running his hand thorough his blonde hair.
"How can I help?" I ask
"Cammie?" he asks while looking over my shoulder "Is Zach there?"
I look at him confused "err why?"
"I need to talk to him" I cough slightly. Josh continues to fiddle with everything and anything.
"come in?" I make room for him to come in. Joey skips out of the kitchen with soap bubbles in his hair up to his room. His smile drops when he see Josh. His eyes narrow and he glares at Josh while giving him the 'I'm watching you' sign with his fingers before disappearing up the stairs.
"Gallagher-" Zach followers shortly after Joey from the kitchen with a tea towel in his hand. He stops in his tracks when he sees Josh"
"Jimmy" he greats curtly
"It's Josh" Josh mumbles
"I know" Zach smirks "Why are you here Jimmy?" He frowns looking annoyed quickly glancing at me.
"Um w-well tomorrow I start my new school in Nebraska...and well...I leave in like ten minutes..." he trails off turning pink.
Zach starts to look even more annoyed "Yes andddddd"
Josh closes his eyes then opens them after breathing out with a huff. He looks at me and says "Sorry Cammie you seem like a nice girl but I'm leaving today...so..." he looks back at Zach taking a step closer "Zach your emerald green eyes have been haunting me ever since the first time we met-" Zach looks like he's about to protest but Josh takes another step closer and puts his finger on Zach lips.
Zach looks down at it then back at Josh looking scared. He repeats this three more times as Josh shushes him
I just stand there frozen watching the scene unfold.
The next thing I know Josh grabs Zach by the collar of his shirt, fisting the material in his hands forcing Zach down.
Josh then grabs Zach head and smashes his lips to Zach's.
My eyes bug out of my head.
I watch at Zach eyes almost burst out his head, he pushes Josh away wiping his lips roughly and staring at him with disbelief.
"Ok well...thank you-" he nods to Zach then continues "-and have a good life...I'm out" and with that Josh leaves as if that never happened.
I look at the shell shocked Zach and burst out laughing, so much I fall to the floor.
"Oh-" gasp "-My-" gasp "-Gosh!" I continue to laugh at him "Told you it was your butt he was looking at!" I giggle.
Zach keeps mumbling something while slowly walking towards the stairs.
"Zach?" I ask worried he might have been broken as I get closer I hear what he's mumbling.
"Mouthwash...need mouthwash"
Joey started to come down the stairs he looked up at Zach then looked at me "What broke Zach?"
I had to giggle at Joey. I call up the stairs "Hey Zach look on the bright-side you'll never see him again...probably..." he kept walking "...Oh come on Zach! See, you were jealous for no reason! If it makes you feel better I'm jealous!"
Question: Did anyone see that coming? There you go, your mini plot twist hehehe...I did tell you there would be no Jammie.
