I am soooo sorry it took me a little while to update! To make it up to you, though, this is a pretty long chapter…well, longer than I usually post anyway.

And I think Linstead fans will like the ending. ;)

Please review!

They ended up back at the station, and Voight locked him in a cell.

"What the hell do you think you're doing!? I'm helpin' you out!" Damien yelled, being shoved into the cell.

"Do you trust me?"

"You're a cop!"

"That doesn't answer the question."

"Yeah, I trust you…but you don't trust me."

"I got you breaking and entering. You really think a car ride is going to make me trust you?"

Damien scoffed, "Well, damn. If I had known you were gonna throw me to shit anyway, I would have told you where to stick it."

Voight smirked, closed the cell door, and walked back up to his desk. He wrote the address to the warehouse down and decided it was time to call the burner he had given Halstead.

Halstead's eyes opened instantly, to the sound of a phone ringing. He rolled over, noticing that when his arm had left Erin's waist it was instantly cold, and grabbed the phone.

"Hello?" he asked into it, rubbing his face to try and wake himself up.

"What the hell are you doin'? Sleeping?"

"Um, yeah, that's what normal people do at this hour." He was surprised he was awake enough to make a comment like that.

He could almost hear Voight's deadly smile on the other side of the line, "I got some news for you. Where's Erin?"

"She's asleep…"

"Where?"

"In a bed. You said you had news? Do you want me to wake her?"

"No, no, no, let her sleep. I know where their hideout is."

"I sense a 'but' coming."

"But we're probably not hitting it anytime soon."

"Okay, what does that mean for me and Erin then?"

"Hang out. Don't get into trouble…and that means that kind of trouble too."

It was now Halstead's turn to smirk. "Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think we're both gettin' too comfortable bein' off the job, though…"

"Shut up, Halstead."

"Bye."

"Bye."

The men hung up. Jay laid the phone back on the nightstand and when he rolled over, he caught Erin's eyes looking at him.

"What'd he say?"

"How much did you hear?" Halstead asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Enough. What'd he say?"

Sighing, Halstead replied, "He knows where the warehouse is. He didn't specify how, though, and I'm not sure we want to know. He doesn't know when they're gonna do the raid either."

"Oh…so that means more hanging around for us, huh?"

Halstead smiled at her playful tone, "Yeah, I suppose it does."

"I'm getting stir crazy."

"You and me both. Although, I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to happen this early."

"I agree. We should do something. How far out of town are we?"

"I think a couple hours…if I know Voight, he wouldn't have taken us somewhere where he couldn't get to us if he needed to, but that we're pretty much away from people we know. Plus, I don't think I've ever been to this hotel."

"Yeah, it seems too fancy for you."

Halstead feigned hurt, "And just what is that supposed to mean?"

Erin laughed, "Come on, can we just go back to sleep. I'm still tired, and my headache is killing me."

Jay smiled, "How am I supposed to say no to that?"

"Easy. You're not."

Halstead put his arm back around her and, almost as soon as his head hit the pillow, he was out.

Voight headed downstairs to talk to his prisoner some more. He was pretty sure the kid couldn't sleep either.

"What the fuck could you want now?" Voight heard from the cell as soon as he walked up to it.

Kid definitely ain't asleep. "Figured you couldn't sleep either."

"This bed is the most uncomfortable motherfucker I've ever tried to sleep on."

Voight, surprisingly, laughed, "I know."

"How the hell could you possibly know?" the kid furrowed his brows at Voight.

"I had to sleep on it once."

"When you were pullin' an all-nighter?"

Voight shook his head.

"When you were undercover?"

"No. When I was being detained."

Damien smirked, "Why does that not surprise me."

"Look, how'd you get mixed up in this life?"

"As if I'm tellin' you shit."

Voight shrugged, "Alright, have it your way. D.A. probably won't prosecute you, so, you'll be released tomorrow, and … feel free to go back to your gang, but as far as they're concerned, you did cooperate…"

"You tryina scare me, pops?"

Voight smirked, "Trying? No. Seems to me like I already have."

Damien made a 'tsk' sound, and threw his head back, "Alright, my brother. I was born into this. I didn't have a choice."

"Everyone has a choice."

"Yeah, well, he was my older brother. What were my options? He probably wanted me to follow in his footsteps..."

"Let me guess, he's gone, isn't he?"

Damien looked up, and Voight was surprised to see that he had tears staining his eyes, he nodded.

"Do you really want to follow in his footsteps? Do you really want to die?"

Damien shook his head.

"I didn't think so. I'm giving you a way out of this."

"And what? You said so yourself that they gon come after me! How you gona protect me from that, huh? You can't. I know damn well the police can't afford to put someone with the likes of me in witness protection!"

"You help me, I help you."

"Yeah, right."

Voight shrugged, and started to walk away.

"Wait." Damien said with a low voice.

Voight turned.

"What more do you want from me?"

"Help me take down your boss."

"You're off your rocker."

"No, I'm serious. What are your other options here? Go back and probably get killed, or help me and live?"

Damien sighed, "Alright, alright. I'll help you."

Voight smiled, "Good. Get some sleep, you're gonna need it." And he walked back upstairs.

When he sat down at his desk, though, he began to read some papers, not realizing how exhausted his body was. Soon, he was bent over his desk, fast asleep.

Jay woke up the next morning more rested than he had felt since he started working Intelligence. When Erin didn't stir beside him, he got out of bed and walked into the bathroom. After doing his morning routine, he came walking back out of the bathroom, and grabbed a sleeveless shirt, gym shorts, and a pair of socks.

"Where ya goin'?" he heard Erin ask from the bed, and when he turned around, she was looking at him – her head still on the pillow.

"I wanna go see if this place has a gym. You coming with?"

She scrunched her nose up, "Not today, I really don't feel like it. And, with your injury, you probably shouldn't either."

"Erin, I said I'm just going to go look, with how fancy this place is, they probably don't even have one anyway. I'm not going to do much if they do. Plus, I need to get out of this room. I'm sorry, but I'm going crazy."

Erin laughed, "Can't go where you already are."

His eyebrows rose, "Oh yeah? Hey, tell me again where you said you were ticklish…" he walked over to her and immediately she started laughing. He started with her stomach as she was frantically trying to push him off of her. Before they both knew it, he was straddling her on the bed with one hand pinning her arms above her head, the other still at her waist.

He leaned in to kiss her, and surprisingly – even after all that, she let him. They readjusted themselves subconsciously so that her legs were suddenly wrapped around his waist, their bodies from the waist up touching, and they never even broke the kiss.

He pulled away first, and started shaking his head, moving to get off of her.

She wrapped her legs tighter.

"We can't…" he muttered, still slightly out of breath.

"Why not, Jay? I'm sober now."

He started kissing her again and when she moved her legs to his sides, he pulled away and quickly jumped off the bed.

"…Because I will still need to get out of this room, and I'm not going to be that douche."

Erin sat up, "Oh, please, if you'd give me the chance, when I would be done with you, you'd need to rest."

Jay gulped. He would be lying to himself if he tried to say he wasn't turned on.

He would also be lying to himself if he tried to say he hadn't thought about this moment since he met her.

What the hell are you doing, Halstead!? The girl in your dreams is basically begging you to have sex with her and you're still turning her down? You're more of an idiot than I thought!

If she wants it…why don't you? What are you scared?

"Don't you think our first time together should be…I don't know…on our own terms? We're basically trapped in a hotel room together, running for our lives, I might add, and … well, all you can think about is having sex with me?"

"Oh, so that's how you feel about this? You feel trapped? No wonder you're itchin' to get out of here! All I can think about? No! Sex is not all I think about! I miss my son! I miss my own apartment, and now, thanks to you, I miss my own bed. Fine, leave. But take your shit with you and don't come back."

"Erin, I didn't mean it like that and you know it. You're right, though, okay? I don't want to have sex here. It seems like it would be forced, and almost expected even. I mean, what the hell do you think Voight thinks we're doing?!"

"I don't give a damn what Voight thinks!"

"I do! I don't want to have sex because that's probably what he thinks we're doing! As my boss, I want him to respect me, but I have to earn it; and I'm not going to do that by screwing his 'daughter' in a hotel room while we're running for our lives!"

"God, Jay, do you really think it would be that bad? I mean, yeah, I know I was abused an all, but …" she had tears staining her eyes.

"Hey, hey, no. That's not what I meant at all. I would love to make love with you, but…"

He said it.

He said it, and now she was looking at him like she was going to attack him…

The tears weren't in her eyes anymore as she sauntered up to Halstead, wrapping her arms around him.

"Then who gives a damn about what anyone thinks if we both want it? And we're both ready for it? This is on our own terms, Jay. And, maybe even better. If we were home, living our lives, we wouldn't have all the time in the world that we do here, right? Here there's no problems, no real threats, no Kyle – as much as we both love him – and, best yet, no Voight."

She had a point.

A really, really, good point.

"Okay, but there is one thing…"

"Yes, I'm on the pill!"

He let out a laugh, "Good to know, but that's not what I was going to ask."

She cocked an eyebrow at him and he continued, "If we do this, I want Kyle to call me dad, not uncle."

"So, we're going to confuse the poor kid?"

Halstead shook his head, "No, we won't confuse him. We'll just tell him to call me dad now. I think he'll like it…"

Erin smiled, "I know he will, and I love it. You really want him to call you dad?"

Jay nodded, "Yeah, it goes right through me when he calls me uncle."

Erin laughed at his spiteful pronunciation of uncle. "Deal, now kiss me."

And kiss her he did. After a little while, they backed up until the back of Erin's knees hit the bed and they both fell onto it. They broke for air, and Erin made her way up to the pillows of the bed as Jay removed his shirt. He then crawled up to her and they resumed the kiss. Erin hadn't realized her mouth was open in anticipation until Jay's tongue slid inside. She let out a light gasp, and he smiled. Their tongues battled for what felt like forever until Jay's finally took over. They broke for air again and Jay helped Erin remove his t-shirt.

He got hard when he realized his suspicions about her not wearing a bra underneath were confirmed.

"Oh shit…" he mumbled as he threw the t-shirt to the floor and started kissing and marking her neck…working his way down.

"I guess you like what you see." Erin smirked.

"Oh, definitely." She felt the vibrations as Jay mumbled onto her chest.

She laughed as she remembered the last time he had said that to her. During their "date," when they were talking since she had changed her mind about going to her class reunion. She couldn't believe how far they had come since then.

Or how far they were about to go.

Ohhh…did I just write that?

Yes, I'm sorry if it sucked, I've re-read it several times, and…considering the hour it is where I'm at (1am) it made sense. I hope y'all liked it. I did the ending as best I could without trying to make it an M rating. Haha! Thanks for reading, please leave a review or PM. I'm 95% sure I'll be posting the next chapter very, very soon.
