Hey everyone so seeing as my other story at only ten chapters has surpassed this one in popularity I feel like my writing has taken a downward spiral, at least as far as this story is concerned. So my only solution is to double my efforts and try to write better than I ever have before, enjoy the chapter and wish me luck!

"You think you can defeat me?!" Hokuto yelled swinging his blade at Zancrow. He jumped back to avoid the attack sucking in a breath as he jumped. "Enjin no Dogo!" Zancrow yelled unleashing a roar that enclosed Hokuto completely.

"You little freak!" Hokuto yelled charging out of the flames and swinging at Zancrow but he avoided them until he used a pillar to jump forward and kick Hokuto in the chest. Hokuto recovered fast and swung every blade down on Zancrow but he back flipped away and jumped up lifting his hands above his head.

"Enjin no Bakuhatsu-teki Honoo!" (Fire God's Explosive Flame) Zancrow yelled as a giant ball of fire formed above him. He slammed his hands down forcing the ball on Hokuto that caused a large explosion of flame and smoke. Zancrow stepped back panting as he tried to keep his balance.

"You're even weaker than I thought you'd be." Hokuto said charging out of the smoke and head butting Zancrow in the gut. "You had your chance to be a part of something great but now you will become a stain on the stone floor!" Hokuto yelled slashing at Zancrow but he jumped off of the blade and landed on the ground but he couldn't keep his balance and he fell sliding across the floor.

"I am not going to let you destroy the academy Hokuto! Even if the teachers are annoying, the students are freaks, and the headmaster is a total nutcase this school has become my home and I won't let you take it!" Zancrow yelled dodging the oncoming attacks and running toward Hokuto both his hands igniting with flames.

"Anata wa nishi ni azuma ni shōshitsu shi, zenshō baai... Kami no iki, Enjin no Kagutsuchi!" (If you burn down the east and burn down the west…God's breath, Fire God's Fire Godling)Zancrow yelled sliding under Hokuto and then pushing his hands up creating a ball of fire around himself that expanded in all directions sending Hokuto into the air.

"Enjin no Donaro!" (Fire God's Cloud) Zancrow yelled waving is hand to create a wave of fire that enclosed Hokuto as soon as he hit the floor. Zancrow collapsed onto his knees panting before he forced himself back up.

"*pant* Shit I can't keep this up." Zancrow muttered his body still feeling the effects of using God drive.

"You're like a cockroach Zancrow, you never seem to die and yet it doesn't really matter because no matter what you do you'll still be an insignificant insect." Hokuto said walking from the flames as Zancrow stood unevenly. "Why won't you just die? I can see your body is on the brink of collapse, how long can you continue?"

"I will not just roll over and die. My friends need me and I have to-*cough*" Zancrow replied but he stopped when he started spitting up blood. He gripped his chest feeling it burning from exhaustion. 'Damn it, not now body.' Zancrow thought to himself collapsing onto his knees. He knew he couldn't take much more, it took the rest of Kagu-Tsuchi's flames to heal the giant hole Hokuto had stabbed into him and now he felt completely depleted.

Hokuto used this as an opportunity and slammed the blunt side of his blade into Zancrow sending him across the room, he chased after him and as soon as Zancrow touched the floor Hokuto sent him flying again. He kept hitting Zancrow across the room knocking him throwing pillars and into the stone floor. Zancrow stood up slowly trying to regain his footing but he collapsed onto the ground.

"Oh has the cockroach finally decided to give up?" Hokuto asked knocking Zancrow into a pillar. He tried to get up but he couldn't in time to dodge the blade that Hokuto slammed into him. He used the side of it rather than the actual blade in order to crush Zancrow into the pillar.

"To think I ever believed you could be a part of my new world. That second persona would have been perfect if he had been stronger, but alas he still lost to you and now you will both die here under the academy." Hokuto said pressing Zancrow harder into the concrete pillar.

"Ahhhhhhhhh!" Zancrow yelled in pain.

"You and your vampire girlfriend will be buried under the destruction of this academy!" Hokuto yelled laughing.

"You won't lay a hand on Moka!" Zancrow yelled but Hokuto pressed harder hearing Zancrow's bones snap.

"You sound very confident for someone who is going to die." Hokuto said smirking. "How could you stop me Zancrow, I'm going to destroy everything you love." Hokuto continued lifting a blade up and then swinging it toward Zancrow.

"I won't let you hurt them!" Zancrow yelled his body bursting with fire that flew in every direction. Hokuto stumbled back his blade had been scorched and he recoiled at the pain.

"Wha-what the hell? How did you gain so much power?!" Hokuto yelled as Zancrow stepped forward glaring at Hokuto with the even more power than he used against Hokuto in their last fight.

"I'm not entirely sure how I got my strength back but I am not going to let you off easy this time! Repent you son of a bitch!" Zancrow yelled moving toward Hokuto faster than the boy could keep track of and slamming a devastating punch to his jaw that sent him across the room like a rag doll. Zancrow charged forward and just as Hokuto regained his balance Zancrow landed a drop kick to his head. Hokuto tried to retaliate, he swung his blades around rapidly but Zancrow was faster than he could keep up with and he dodged them.

"I'm done with this fight Hokuto! I'm ending it now! Enjin no Hakaiken!" (Fire God's Destructive Fist) Zancrow yelled jumping up and punching Hokuto into the ground. Zancrow stood over Hokuto who lie in a crater partially transformed and partially untransformed. Zancrow was about to step forward but then Hokuto started talking.

"You're too late Zancrow; the barrier is already too far gone for you to stop it." Hokuto said smirking up at Zancrow who glared at him before he turned around and ran to the altar. Zancrow pulled the rosary from the altar but it didn't budge it only began to glow brighter.

"Why isn't it coming out?!"

"Zancrow," Moka muttered as she staggered over to the blonde haired boy. Zancrow caught her and helped her stand by the altar.

"We have to stop this,"

"I know but I don't know what to do." Zancrow muttered but then a new voice spoke up.

"Don't give up yet!" Kurumu yelled as she and the other girls flew over to the pair from the darkness. Kurumu had Mizore in a bridal hold while Ruby carried Yukari; they flew as fast as they could before landing a few feet from the altar.

"How did you get here?" Moka asked surprised

"The Headmaster teleported us here, but we don't have time to chat we have to stop Hokuto's plan," Mizore said hopping out of Kurumu's arms and onto the floor.

"But how?" Zancrow asked

"The only way is for us to transfer our yokai into the altar and force the barrier back up again." Yukari said seriously. "Zancrow you should sit this out, you don't have any yokai in you other than the power Kasai has and we don't want you to tap into that at all." Yukari continued, Zancrow was going to speak up and argue but he stopped when he saw the pleading look on everyone's faces.

"Let us save you this time Zancrow." Ruby said smiling as Zancrow smiled back and nodded. The girls all circled around the altar and placed a hand on it before they began to release their yokai all at once.

"Why are you interfering? This school is nothing but a place of death; I've spent my entire life abused by my family. This academy gave me my first chance at a new life but it quickly crushed my hope and showed me a world even more evil than the one I used to live in. Why won't you just let me destroy this place?" Hokuto said glaring at the girls as they fed their yokai to the barrier.

"This school may be dangerous and stupid but it's our school and we will protect it." Zancrow answered as the girls fed energy into the altar each of them giving all they had which was quickly affecting their bodies.

"I can't go on any longer…" Yukari muttered as she collapsed. Kurumu and Mizore stood a bit longer but even they began to wobble until they collapsed as well.

"The great barrier is too much…" Ruby muttered as she collapsed as well the only one left standing was Moka who also looked ready to faint as she fed the barrier even more yokai.

"Just a little more…" Moka muttered falling over but she felt Zancrow catch her before she could fall.

"I won't let it end like this Moka, I may not be compatible for the barrier but I don't care I will not let this academy fall apart!" Zancrow yelled placing a hand on the altar and feeding his magic into it but it began to reject it and sent yokai throw Zancrow's body.

"Ahhhhhhhhh!" Zancrow yelled feeling more than triple the amount of yokai tear throw him as when Hokuto pressed him against his barrier. Zancrow began to slip and he fell back completely unconscious with yokai surging off his body.

"Zancrow…" Moka muttered trying to stay awake, she managed to stay awake long enough to see Zancrow get back up and place a hand on the altar again. This time it began to absorb his energy rapidly until it finally stopped and Zancrow pulled the rosary out. Moka was confused by the outcome but she was losing consciousness, the last thing she saw before she passed out was two golden eyes where Zancrow's red one's usually are; but they seemed different…almost remorseful.

'Is that…no it can't be…I'm…just…seeing…things…' Moka thought as she fainted.

Zancrow awoke with a gasp, he looked around the room and noticed that he was in the hospital and before he could react he felt Ruby tackle him and smother him happily.

"Oh Zancrow I'm so happy that you are awake!" Ruby yelled as Mizore, and Yukari also jumped onto the hospital bed and hugged him. Kurumu watched she had a smile as well but it was small and she didn't try and smother him.

"What happened?" Zancrow asked he couldn't remember anything after passing out from exposure to the yokai.

"Well when we woke up we saw you holding the rosary in your hand, the headmaster said you must have completed the barrier." Mizore answered

"How could I have done that?" Zancrow asked himself, when he tried to restore the barrier he was rejected completely. Zancrow was going to voice his opinion but then he noticed a certain pink haired vampire was missing. "Where's Moka?" Zancrow asked as all the girls got off of him but as if on cue said girl burst in through the hospital door. Her eyes met Zancrow's and a tear slipped down her cheek before she ran up to him and tackled him

"I'm so glad you're okay!" Moka yelled hugging the God slayer tightly.

"So am I," Zancrow replied with a smile on his face. "If you don't mind me asking, how did you remove the rosary without me?" Zancrow asked as Moka looked up at him with a slight blush on her cheeks.

"I forcefully broke it off, I should have been lost forever but thankfully the headmaster fixed my rosary." Moka said smiling as a deep blush crept onto her cheeks; she looked away from Zancrow as he grinned but then he frowned.

"Wait, where is Hokuto?" Zancrow asked seriously.

"He disappeared while we were passed out, it's a miracle he didn't attack us after we fainted." Mizore answered but Zancrow clenched his fist tightly.

"I have to find him and make him pay for hurting all of you!" Zancrow yelled which made Moka smile and hug him again.

"Zancrow you don't need to do go after him, we know you want to stop him but we need you here. With us," Moka said

"Thanks Moka," Zancrow replied

"Zancrow don't only pay attention to her!" Mizore yelled jumping in between the pair followed by the others except for Kurumu.

"Kurumu are you okay?" Zancrow asked confused by her distantness.

"I'm fine Zancrow," Kurumu said forcing a smile but Zancrow could only frown at this as he climbed off of the hospital bed.

"Kurumu…" Zancrow said reaching out to her but she flinched away much to his surprise.

"Zancrow…I'm not sad about anything you did it's just…what Kasai said really hurt me." Kurumu muttered closing her eyes, she had been thinking about everything he said every since they completed the barrier. Zancrow walked up to her and hugged her tightly, wrapping his arms around her protectively.

"My name is Zancrow Tenshi, I'm nineteen years old and I hate myself. When I was a kid I killed my father, a few years later the only person I ever loved died in my arms and I spent the rest of my life trying to pay the world back for what it did to me." Zancrow said as Kurumu looked up at him surprised. She already knew about his past but what she didn't know was that Zancrow hated himself; it made her heart sink to hear him say that.

"I don't like to remember anything about my past but you deserve better than that…you deserve better than me. I know that it may not always seem like it but I would save any of you if you were in danger, if you were in trouble Kurumu I'd destroy anything in my way to get to you." Zancrow continued as his eyes met Kurumu's.

"Thank you Zancrow…" Kurumu whispered returning the hug happily. Moka and the others smiled at this, the pair split apart and then the mood turned serious again.

"So what happened to Kasai?" Mizore asked making Zancrow frown slightly.

"I can't say for sure, while fighting him I came to the realization that I had been forcing all my old feelings on him and that's why he was the way he was. I finally accepted my old self and decided to try and overcome it but I'm not entirely sure what that means for Kasai or the power he had."

The girls listened intently as Zancrow explained it, but they were getting uneasy about the information.

"So he's still in your mind?" Ruby asked

"Yeah…but it's different now, he fed off of my old feelings to gain strength now that I've accepted everything he isn't the same in terms of strength. He's more of a figment now." Zancrow said which brought a bit of relief to the girls.

"I'm just glad everyone's okay," Moka said smiling as she hugged Zancrow.

"I wanna hug too!" Yukari yelled jumping in between the two.

"Hokuto, you caused quite the uproar." Kiria said as he stood next to Hokuto with a smile.

"An uproar…that's disappointing, I was going to create a new world but now all that's left is the academy." Hokuto growled. He and Kiria stood behind the trees staring into the hospital window and watching Zancrow and the girls.

"I will make him pay for what he has done." Hokuto said glaring even harder as he saw Zancrow smiling and laughing with all his friends. "Let's go Kiria," Hokuto said turning to face the other direction and walking forward. Kiria followed him with a smile on his face.

"It will definitely be interesting."

"Everyone's so lively," Zancrow muttered walking alongside Moka, Kurumu, Mizore and Yukari through the school festival. It was the day before the school let the parents visit; they held a large celebration for all the students to prepare for the festival.

"It's almost like it's the actual festival." Moka agreed smiling as she clung to his arm happily. "Us being together like this…it's almost like a real d-d-d-date." Moka stuttered her cheeks turning beat red which made Zancrow blush as well.

"Eh!" Kurumu and Mizore yelled angrily but Yukari was ecstatic to hear the analogy.

"This isn't like a date!" Kurumu yelled pushing Moka and Zancrow apart.

"I agree with cow girl, it isn't like a date for you Moka…but it is a date for Zancrow and me." Mizore said clinging to Zancrow's arm in Moka's place.

"No way! If anyone is on a date with Zancrow it's me!" Kurumu yelled pulling Zancrow away from Mizore and smothering him with her breasts. "Don't worry Zancrow your destined one is here." Kurumu said happily as Zancrow tried to breathe.

"Get your hands off of him!" Yukari yelled jumping onto his back and pulling Zancrow as hard as she could. Moka and Mizore joined in and they all tried to pull Zancrow closer. As they fought suddenly a firework went off above them making them turn their heads in awe.

"The hell is that!" Zancrow yelled in surprise as he looked up at the fireworks that began to go off above them.

"You've never seen fireworks before Zancrow?" Kurumu asked surprised but then she remembered what Zancrow's life was like before the academy.

"Fireworks?" Zancrow questioned trailing off as he saw the beautiful fireworks bursting over head. He was completely lost in them; he had never seen fire being used for something beautiful like this.

"They are like explosives used during celebrations." Mizore answered watching as Zancrow stared at the fireworks like a child. Zancrow sat on the ground the girls following his example and sitting around him happily.

"I'm glad to be back," Zancrow said as he stepped into his dorm room stretching his tired body.

'I see you've had an eventful day,' Kagu-Tsuchi said materializing beside the tired God slayer.

"Hey flippant God, I hate to see your back," Zancrow said tiredly walking over to his bed and taking a seat.

'Ha ha, we need to talk.' Kagu-Tsuchi said

"About?" Zancrow asked

'Your fight with Hokuto and Kasai, a lot has happened and we need to clarify everything.' Kagu-Tsuchi answered 'First we should discuss what exactly happened to Kasai.'

"I used Fire God's Meal to absorb him into my psyche. He was a scapegoat at first I tried relentlessly to keep our minds separate but now he's a part of me." Zancrow said frowning as he lay back in his bed.

'This is truly an unfortunate event; there is no way to determine what this could mean for your body. Never has there been a human who forced the ghoul power to a second persona.' Kagu-Tsuchi said making Zancrow sigh in frustration.

"I don't know what I am anymore, I don't know if I'm human, ghoul, vampire or maybe something in the middle. All I do know is that now that Kasai is a part of my psyche I think he's no longer a threat." Zancrow muttered with a small smile creeping onto his lips.

'Let's hope so…' Kagu-Tsuchi trailed 'I suppose we can move on, let's talk about the fight with Hokuto.'

"What about it, we fought I won end of story." Zancrow said nonchalantly

'Not exactly I already know that you were losing until you entered God Drive. I'm impressed you were able to maintain it for ten seconds but seeing as it completely drained you of energy it may not be very useful in combat.' Kagu-Tsuchi said much to Zancrow's aggravation.

"Shut up," Zancrow growled childishly

'Then I believe you lost yourself to Kasai, after the vampire helped you Hokuto tried to kill you and nearly succeeded. Luckily you unlocked second origin during the fight and won.' Kagu-Tsuchi said 'you activating second origin is crucial for us to continue in your training.'

Hearing this made Zancrow sit up quickly gaining a new interest in the topic.

"Training!"

'Yes in order for you to master God slayer magic you'll need second origin.' Kagu-Tsuchi said making Zancrow jump out of bed full of energy.

"I'm ready to train right now! Let's go!" Zancrow yelled excitedly.

'You need rest God slayer, your body is still healing from the fight.' Kagu-Tsuchi said but Zancrow didn't seem keen on taking no for an answer.

"No way, you have to teach me! I have to be strong to protect my friends and fighting Hokuto showed me that I'm not strong enough!" Zancrow yelled angrily but he was unsure of whether he was angry with Kagu-Tsuchi or himself.

'God slayer I know how you feel, you want to protect the one's you care about but you need to think about yourself once and a while.' Kagu-Tsuchi replied

"You don't understand anything! How could you understand, you're a God I'm sure all your friends are immortal!" Zancrow yelled angrily glaring at the fire God. Instead of seeing Zancrow a teenage boy with orange hair stood in his place but the glare still remained and it almost made Kagu-Tsuchi flinch.

'You don't understand me at all! How could you betray me like this?!' The orange haired boy yelled before he faded away leaving Zancrow in his place.

'Listen God slayer if you rest then we'll work on your first spell tomorrow. I think we can start with the true breath attack of God slayer's.' Kagu-Tsuchi said and Zancrow grinned at this.

"Alright!" Zancrow cheered in excitement as Kagu-Tsuchi faded away.

Yay, now that this chapter is over the chapter I've been waiting for since I started this story will begin! Parent's day at the school festival! Yay!
