better late than never. happy Valentine's Day to those who care and kudos to those who don't.

Felicity looked like she felt. She had woken up with a temperature and a stuffy nose. Her hair was in a messy bun in a poor attempt of her usual ponytail. Her makeup was gone, and her dresses and skirts had been replaced by sweats and a t-shirt.

So when she saw her desktop filled with beautiful things for Valentine's Day, which she knew could only be from Oliver, she almost cried.

Surrounding her computers sat bouquets of flowers, all different varieties and colors. There were red and pink roses and bright orange tiger lilies and gorgeous blue mystique orchids. Cheap cards lined the edges of her keyboards, each one cheesier than the last. But the best part was the chocolates, the rich mint kind that Felicity had forgotten she told Oliver she liked. It was sweet, everything he did for her, but she didn't know where they stood now. Ever since she had told him off a few weeks ago, saying how she didn't want to be a woman he loved, things had been awkward. It usually flowed so easily between them, knowing what the other was thinking before they said it. Felicity didn't even know what she was thinking anymore, let alone him.

"Happy Valentine's Day, Felicity."

She jumped at the sudden voice. Had he been here this whole time?

Turning around slowly, Felicity smiled sheepishly. "If I would've known you did all this I might've dressed to the occasion."

Oliver shrugged. "I don't mind. You always look beautiful."

Felicity internally groaned. She set herself up for that one.

"Um, thanks, you know, for this. It was really sweet of you."

Oliver smiled. "So, Felicity, will you be my Valentine?"

She rubbed her eyes tiredly and sat down in her chair, no longer caring what she looked like. "I meant what I said before, Oliver. I don't want to be a woman you love. I don't want to get hurt."

Even though she faced away from him, Felicity knew he was disappointed. This had been him trying to make amends, but she couldn't find it within herself to forgive him just yet.

Turning on her computers, Felicity refused to give in and willed herself to stay strong.

After a period of silence she spun around in her chair and tried to think of something to say, but it didn't matter. He was gone.
