Hey guys! I know this is a really short chapter, but the last one was extremely long and I've posted how many in the past few weeks? Also, to make matters better, it's another happy chapter :) this is eight in a row! Might be a new record. Just know, the happier things seem, the worse they are when it all comes crashing down. ;)

Emily woke up late at night, around 2:00 in the morning, the bed next to her both empty and cold. "Maya?" she called out softly, wondering if maybe the shorter girl was in the bathroom or checking on the kids. When she heard no reply she stood and checked the bathroom and both the twins room.

The house was eerily quiet, until she heard the soft sound of gentle breathing from down the hall. She quietly made her way down to the small music studio that had been set up and couldn't help smiling and chuckling at the sight. Her wife's head rested against the piano keys, noise no longer coming from them anymore. Papers with random notes scribbled on them that would take Emily forever and a day to try and figure out how to read were scattered everywhere across the room.

A pencil was clutched in her hand and she was just barely snoring. She let out a giggle and carefully made her way around the mess until she reached the sleeping musician. Picking her up in her arms and cradling her, Emily placed a gentle kiss to the darker girl's forehead, causing her to stir. She started to blink open her eyes. "Emily?" she mumbled, her voice muffled by the drowsiness of her current state. "Tired babe?" the swimmer laughed softly.

The only response she got was a mumble too inaudible to make out and the feeling of her wife curling up closer into her body. The taller girl gently laid her lover on the bed and kissed her cheek. "I love you," she whispered before curling up in the covers and wrapping her arms securely around Maya's waist.

The sound of piano music woke Emily up. She again was empty in the bed and she smiled to herself. She stood when an envelope that she had gotten a few days ago and sat on the window sill stopped her. Picking it up, she looked down at the seal from the hospital and sighed. She might as well tell Maya now.

She let out a sigh and walked down to the music studio, expecting to find her wife sitting down and playing- but that was only about a third of the sight. Also included were the twins sitting on either side, watching in amazement as she played. Emily made sure to stay quiet as she watched her family.

"Ready for the big finish?" Maya asked. Holly and Emmett nodded and when their mom stopped playing they each played three simple notes, and the older woman grinned, giving them each a high five. "Guess athletes are outnumbered in this house," the swimmer chuckled, causing the three people to turn around and giggle. "Go and play kids, Mama and I have to talk," Emily instructed.

The twins ran off laughing and Maya gave her wife a confused look as she took a deep breath and sat down beside her. "I-" the taller girl started, but a meow and a weight on her shoulder cut her off. "Pickles, down," she laughed, trying to push the cat off her. He mewed and licked her cheek, then jumped down and walked out. "Anyways, as I was saying... do you remember when we mixed our bone marrow last week?" Emily asked.

The musician nodded slowly. " I... I went to the hospital yesterday," she started. "Wait, what? Is everything OK?" the darker girl's voice was filled with concern. The swimmer chuckled, then whispered, "Yes, everything is perfect. I... I'm pregnant.
