I always thought being married would change my life forever, but I suppose being a pirate meant things happened differently. Free of governments, families, and neighbors telling you what to do, things happened however you would like them. For us that happened to mean going on adventures you only read about in stories.

It didn't take long before Jack was as eager to steal a boat as I was. Luckily Teague gifted us a small vessel as a wedding gift so we could avoid any conflicts. However, Lizzie was already five months along and I was not going to miss her birth. I told Jack that, until her final month, the world was ours. I just had one place I needed to go first.

"I will be so quick you won't even know I'm gone." I looked at Jack as we crouched behind a building in London.

"I'll keep a look out." He nodded and held out his hand. I shook it before he brought it up for a kiss.

"Be careful." I told him.

"Same to you. By the way, luv, I'm happy to see you in a dress again." He looked me over and I smirked before making my way into the street. I was wearing the outfit of a respectable London woman as I made my way across the street to the parliament building. There was someone I needed to see.

It was a Sunday and I presumed that most people were at home since the building was nearly empty. I walked down the many halls while looking around. It was large and a piece of art, the parliament. I walked slowly, quickly getting taken in by the empty rooms in which the government worked. So much of what I had read about in the newspapers happened between these walls. I finally reached the room I was looking for. I was prepared to pick the lock but, to my surprise, it was open. Walking in, I looked around. It wasn't a large office but it was big enough to have walls of bookshelves, no doubt all about law. Out the window was a view of the busy streets below. I turned and looked over the desk that was piled with papers and parcels and books.

"Always working." I mumbled and looked at some of the half-written thoughts and scribbled on newspapers. With another look around and a sigh, I reached into my bodice and pulled out a letter. In that moment I heard quick footsteps and some talking. I quickly placed the letter in the desk drawer and paused. The steps got closer and I moved from behind the desk and to the window. My plan of escape was mostly to act as a simple lady who was looking for something and just took a wrong turn. My other plan was to point a gun and run the opposite direction. I thought it all through as the door opened.

"In you go, Darling." Hamish's voice floated into the room as Darling ran in and right to me with a bark. Hamish's eyes met mine in surprise. We didn't speak as my eyes filled with tears and I lowered myself to the fluffy little bundle of excitement that was my dog.

"My darling." I sobbed and he licked my cheeks as I pet him behind the ears.

"Are you daft?" He asked, closing the door to his office. "You cannot be here."

"I know," I placed a hand over my mouth and closed my eyes for a moment before standing. "I'm sorry," I looked him in the eye.

"What are you doing?" He hadn't moved from his place.

"I-I needed to get you a message and I found that you work here now. Which is very fitting for you." I smiled weakly.

"You look well." He looked me over with a nod. I took a deep breath before walking up to him and embracing him tightly in a way that he returned wholeheartedly.

"I have missed you. I miss Port Royal and Uncle and Maria." I poured my heart out to him.

"Are you doing okay? How is Elizabeth?" He asked and I nodded.

"Yes. I am wonderful. We are wonderful. Lizzie is pregnant." I told him and he leaned away to look at my face. "She married Will and they are with child."

"Really?" He looked down, taking me in.

"Yes. And I'm married now." I watched as he tried to comprehend.

"To who? Would I like them?" He asked, unwrapping his arms from around me.

"No not at all." I shook my head with a laugh. "He's a pirate. But so am I so, I suppose it's not so bad." I looked down at the idea that I was now facing him as an outlaw.

"Did you receive my message?" He asked gently. I looked up with a nod.

"Darling sent his love." I looked down at my precious little friend who was sitting at our feet and we were quiet for a moment. "I can't stay for very much longer."

"I understand." He nodded then hugged me again. "Baily, do you know what you are doing?"

"No," I answered truthfully. "But I have come to enjoy the unknown." We parted once again and I picked Darling up. "Take care of my Darling. Though by the fact that he is here in your office, I suppose you are." I let the dog lick my tear stained chin.

"I will. You take care of your niece or nephew." He placed a hand on my shoulder before I place Darling back on the ground. With one more embrace, I headed to the door.

"Hamish?" I paused, my hand on the knob.

"Yes?" His voice was familiar and nostalgic to me now.

"What did you mean however long ago when I was in jail? When you said "people like us, people who don't have knowledge of where they come from"?" I turned to look at him and he sighed.

"I also did not know who my parents were. I was an orphan left on a doorstep. I had to build myself up, make myself smart, and fight to get where I am." He came forward and kissed my forehead. "So did you. Now go, and take care of yourself… Captain Baily Black Hart." I looked up at him with a smile and, with last goodbyes, slipped into the hallway. I left the building and waded through the crowd and across the street where Jack was waiting patiently.

"There you are." He stood from his place on a barrel. "How was it?" I looked at him and took a deep breath before embracing him.

"Fantastic." I told him, his arms wrapping around me. We parted and I smiled. "Get me out of this dress and I will tell you all about it."

We didn't stay in London long at all. Within the week we were headed to the nearest free port. With Jack taking advantage of the royal treatment I was receiving as the king, and me being enthralled with finally being able to see what pirate life was like, it was certainly a honeymoon. As we sailed back to Lizzie, I couldn't help but find myself thinking, I couldn't believe that I ever wanted my life to stay the same, quiet and peaceful. With Jack Sparrow at my side, I wanted anything but that.

I'm actually considering making a story for the fourth movie though, after watching the fifth one today (hot take: it's garbage) that is as far as we'll go.
