Stiffening, Elphaba straightened and turned towards, her dark chocolate eyes glared icily back at her husband standing tall and rigid beside Fiyero.
"What…what did he say?" she asked breathlessly. Her heart hammered in her chest, and her blood, pounded behind her ears. Shaking her head, she rose on shaky legs to her full height, her piercing eyes never leaving her husband's dark sapphire, "What did he say?" she repeats, her voice trembled in time with the knocking of her knees.
"It's nothing" smiles Siefer. Turning, his hand rose and pressed against Fiyero's chest. Stepping away, his eyes stare softly back at his wife, trembling before him "He's misplaced his mind" he finished softly. Slowly, he took a step towards her.
Stiffening, Elphaba stumbled back. Her eyes widened and her hand rose, fisting tight against her chest.
"Why would he say that then?" she asks softly.
Siefer stopped dead in his tracks, and his heart ached, seeing the pain shimmer in his wife's eyes. Weakly, his shoulders dropped and his hands fell limp to his sides.
"I don't know baby…probably just to stir up mischief" answers Siefer.
"No" Elphaba's body stiffened as she took another step back, "Fiyero is many things…but to cause mischief…to accuse someone of a crime they had not committed…is one attribute I'm happy to say…he had not acquired…so try again" answers Elphaba, her voice came out like steal, gruff and laced with rage.
"Fae…I'm your husband…what reason have I to lie to you?" pleads Siefer gently. A rattle and his eyes dart towards the pictures on the wall shaking and trembling. Electricity crackled and sparked in the air; beating in time to the silent thunder rumbling far off in the distance.
Glinda stiffened where she stood. Wearily, her eyes rolled towards the window and widened, seeing the clear blue sky get swallowed up by dark, thunder clouds.
"Err…Siefer"
"Why don't you stop lying to your wife and tell her the truth!" growls Fiyero. Gallantly, he takes a step towards Siefer, his fingers curled one by one into a fist and trembled at his sides.
"Regarding?" Sighs Siefer, blinking he turns and faces Fiyero.
"Why don't you tell her the truth" he growled.
"Again…regarding" sighs Siefer.
"Regarding how she lost the baby" snarls Fiyero.
Immediately Elphaba stiffened and the color in her face drained away. Absently, her hand rose and cupped her flat abdomen.
"M…my baby" whispers Elphaba brokenly.
"Tell her Siefer…tell her how you murdered it…your own child! Your flesh and blood!"
"I did nothing of the sort!" snaps Siefer as he spun on the tips of his toes and glared back at Fiyero.
"You killed your own child!" roars Fiyero.
Trembling, Elphaba's hands rose and cupped her ears. Stumbling back, she nearly tripped over her own daughter as her breathing became uneven and raspy.
"Stop it" she whispered.
"You know you did! Why won't you admit it!" screams Fiyero.
"Cause there's nothing to admit!" counters Siefer.
Glinda's eyes grew wider with worry, watching the storm clouds roll in, and blocking out the sun. Thunder rumbled and lightning crashed, lighting the sky in a flash of crystal white. The wind raged, bending the trees and ripping the leaves free from the branches.
"Err…guys" she tried again.
"Yes there is! You're the reason why Elphaba lost her child to begin with!"
"Explain to me just how I accomplished such a task" counters Siefer.
"The tea you gave her you big Ape!"
"It was just ordinary tea!" screams Siefer.
The walls shook, pictures trembled and a few fell and shattered to the ground. The windows rattled, and a table skidded across the floor.
"Guys" cries Glinda nervously.
Nia, noticing what was happening, stepped up next to her mother, and wrapping her arms around her legs, pressed her tiny cheek against the pleated edges of her skirt.
"Mommy please calm down" she cried.
The wind outside howled as the storm raged on. Something big, flew across the window, catching Glinda's attention. Stiffening the blonde stepped closer and her eyes widened, seeing a cow being tossed around in the torrential torrents.
"Cow" she cried.
Turning, Nia watched in awe at the cow mooing, its legs moving and kicking in desperation to touch the ground and run.
"Wow" she whispered in awe.
"There was something else you put in that tea!" roars Fiyero.
"There was nothing! All I did was make her some tea to help settle her!"
The cow flies past the window again, mooing in desperation.
"Another cow" cried Glinda, her eyes following the animal.
"I think that's the same cow" replies Nia dryly.
"You sure?" turning, Glinda frowns back at Nia.
Raising an incredulous eyebrow back at Glinda, Nia angrily crosses her small arms against her chest, and glares.
"Really?" she asks dryly.
"Oh" shivering, Glinda steps back, "Don't do that"
"Do what?" frowned Nia confused.
"That…that look you made"
"Why?" asks Nia
"Cause you looked just like Elphie" shrugs Glinda.
"Oh…maybe that's because of the fact that I'm her daughter…does that ring any bells with you?" she asked sarcastically.
"Oz…I swear the older you get the more like your mother you become" shivers Glinda.
"Again…her daughter" retorts Nia.
"Stop" cries Elphaba, her voice rising slightly in pitch.
"Are you really that stubborn of a man to admit that you've done something wrong!" screams Fiyero. Frustrated, he slams his fists against his sides, "or is it the Doctor ego that's playing a role in this?" he counters.
"How bout none of the above" growls Siefer.
Sheets of icy rain pounded the pavement, washing away the dirt and gravel from the ground. Great globs of blackened waters bubble a top the surface as the rain pelted down upon the lake.
"Guys" tried Glinda again.
A screech and the table flipped over and shattered. A picture frame lifts off the wall and flies across the room, shattering against the wall.
Startled, both Siefer and Fiyero tear their eyes away from each other, and snap towards the picture frame, lying in pieces and broken glass against the wall.
"Oh…oh" is all Siefer says.
"That doesn't sound like a good oh oh" replies Fiyero nervously.
"It's not when you're looking at all your furniture and belongings breaking and flying across the room" quips Siefer before ducking to the left as a chair zips past him.
"Duck and weave time boys!" calls Glinda before jumping over a table and sprinting over to Nia, she scoops the little girl up in her arms and runs toward Siefer.
"Duck and weave?" frowns Fiyero confused. Turning, he starts to step towards Siefer, but an ottoman flies up and slams into his stomach, knocking the wind from his sails, "Never mind…I see why you call it that" gasps the Prince.
"Duck and weave boy" smirked Glinda.
"Fae calm down" soothes Siefer. Carefully, the Doctor steps towards his wife, "it's alright see…me and dumb dumb over here aren't fighting anymore"
"Hey!" called Fiyero, but he was silenced once again by a pillow flying up and smacking him in the face.
"What part of Duck and Weave do you not understand" laughs Glinda
"How bout all the above" snorts Fiyero.
Ignoring the others, Siefer pressed on. Slowly, he reaches his fingers toward Elphaba's shoulder.
"It's alright my love…it's alright"
"No it's not…your all screaming and making accusations to things I don't understand!" cries Elphaba. Lightning flashed behind her, followed by a loud crackle of thunder.
"It's a misunderstanding Fae…that's all" soothes Siefer in a calm voice.
"A misunderstanding of what!" screams Elphaba. The glass behind her cracks, before shattering showering the room in glass.
Glinda grabs Nia and turning, shields her from the glass. Fiyero jumps to the ground and covers his head.
"A misunderstanding regarding the tea and the baby" answers Siefer unfazed. Small cuts bled on his face, yet he paid them no mind, he had to reach his wife and end this.
"What about the tea?" asks Elphaba.
"He thinks I put something in it" sighs Siefer.
"Did you?" snarls Elphaba. A picture frame lifts off the wall from the corner and flies across the room.
Fiyero ducks just as the picture frame flies over his head. Rising to his feet, he turns and smirks back at Glinda
"I got this" he announces triumphantly. Course, his victor became short lived when a pair of Siefer's boxer shorts smacked him in the face.
"Yeah…you got this" snorts Glinda.
"No Fae…I wouldn't do anything to harm you or our child…I'm sorry you lost the baby…but it was of no fault of my own or yours" replies Siefer.
"I wanted that baby Siefer" slowly, Elphaba's shoulders relax, "I wanted that baby so bad" weakly, she wraps her arms around her slender abdomen.
"I know you did Fae…I know…so did I" soothes Siefer. Taking another step, he reached towards Elphaba.
"I wanted that baby" cries Elphaba. Slowly the storm within the apartment as well as outside dissipates away, "I wanted that baby"
Siefer steps closer and grabs Elphaba just as she was about to collapse. Gently he pulls her tight against him, wrapping his arms around her, held her close.
"I know you did my love…I know you did" he whispers. Closing his eyes, he presses a tender kiss to Elphaba's hair.
Elphaba's legs buckle and give beneath her as she sobs out her heartache.
Catching her, he gently lowers them to the ground. His heart breaks, feeling his wife shiver hard against him.
"It's alright Fae…I got you…I got you…go ahead and cry…let it out" he whispers.
