Chapter 26
The alarm clock rang only a couple of times before Arcee shut it off, rolling on her side she let out a sad sigh at the empty side of the bed "Just not the same." After what had nearly happened last night, Jack suggested they sleep separately and Arcee had agreed but in the end she didn't get much sleep. She kept thinking about what happened and what could have happened if June hadn't arrived when she did, would they really have gone through with it. She knew all about sex from the Sex Ed class but she never thought about it, even after she and Jack became a couple.
The former two wheeler got dressed and headed into the kitchen where she found Jack at the table eating breakfast, he noticed her enter "Morning."
"Morning." they didn't make eye contact even when Arcee sat down, neither of them knew what to say about the previous night. They sat there eating in silence for about a minute before Arcee broke it "June gone to the hospital?"
"Yeah," Jack replied "She had an early shift." after that the two of them just sat there playing with their food, the attempted ice breaker failed. Jack let out a sigh "I better get going soon to, I've gotta a shift at the K.O. Burger."
"Oh, okay." was all Arcee could say as Jack quickly finished his breakfast and headed for the garage "See ya later."
"Bye." he said closing the door behind him, Arcee stood up and looked out the window in time to see Jack cycle away on his bike.
The former two wheeler let out a sad sigh and walked back to the table, she dropped down in her seat and pushed her plate away having no appetite. Things had been so good between her and Jack better than ever, when they became boyfriend and girlfriend she was happier than she could ever remember being and it was clear Jack was to. But in one moment it seemed to fall apart, she missed having him beside her as she slept, she missed the kisses they shared and she missed how he always looked at her like she was the most amazing thing in the world.
Arcee took out her phone and brought up a picture of her and Jack holding each other, the smiles on their faces really showed how happy they both were. Looking at the picture Arcee's face went from sad to determined "I want it back!" standing up out of her chair she ran to the bed room. A moment later she ran back into the kitchen and quickly devoured her breakfast having regained her appetite, then went to the bedroom again.
K.O. Burger
Jack stood with his head resting on his hand looking out the drive through window at the empty parking lot, business was slow today and the only customers they'd had today we all eating there. Which left Jack pretty board, all he could think about was Arcee and how things had gone from great to really messed up. "Are thing always this exciting?" Arcee asked.
"At K.O. Burger, yeah pretty much." Jack sighed, then realised who he was talking to "Arc… I mean Sadie?"
Arcee stood there at the side of the drive trough window "You were expecting someone else?" she moved so she was right in front of the window.
Jack scratched the back of his head and looked away "Sadie, last night I…" he tried to think of what to say but came up with nothing. He was so deep in thought he never noticed Arcee reach up with one hand, grab him by the front of his shirt and pull him down nearly out of the window.
Arcee moved so the were eye level "Jack."
Jack recovered from the shock of nearly being pulled out of the window "Yeah?"
"Shut up." with that Arcee put her hand on the back of Jacks head and kissed him, Jacks eyes widened in surprise but quickly got over it and returned the kiss. They stayed kissing like that for a couple minutes before braking away for air, Arcee moved her hand placing it on Jacks cheek and looked right into his eyes "Whatever last night was, its not worth ruining all this."
Jack smiled "Works for me." and they started kissing again.
"AHEM!" they stopped kissing and saw a man standing behind Jack with his arms crossed "Okay two things," he looked at Arcee "Miss, you can't use the drive though unless your in a motorised vehicle." He looked to Jack "And Jack your supposed to give customers their orders, not your tongue."
"Oh hey Mr White." Jack pulled himself back in the window "Sadie this my boss Mr White." he introduced him "Mr White this is my girlfriend Sadie." he introduced her.
Arcee felt warm inside hearing Jack call her his girlfriend "Hi."
"So the rumours are true." Mr White said looking at Arcee then to Jack "You did a girlfriend that's way out of your league."
"Well," Jack started but then looked out at Arcee and just smiled "Yeah."
"Well congrats on that but Sadie?" he looked to the former two wheeler "I can't let you stay there blocking the drive through path."
Arcee thought about pointing out that there were no cars to block, but then she got an idea that made her smirk "Alright then." She moved forward and actually climbed it the drive through window "There," she wrapped her arms around the back of Jacks neck "Paths clear." and gave him another kiss.
"Wasn't expecting that." Mr White blinked "But only employees are allowed back here."
"Please?" Arcee said sweetly "I'll buy something."
White rolled his eyes and sighed "Fine! But this doesn't mean you can slack off Jack."
"Gotcha." Jack nodded.
"Hey that's not fair!" said one of the other employees "Why does Jack get to bring his girlfriend here?"
"Because she asked nicely and because he actually has one." Mr White said "now get back to the till."
The young man grumbled as he returned to the till and Mr White went back to his office, Jack looked at Arcee "What was that?"
Arcee smirked "Turns out that on earth pretty girls get their way if they ask nicely."
Jack smiled "You really are an actress." and gave her a quick kiss.
They separated "I did say I'd buy something." Arcee looked at all the fatty food being fried and suddenly felt queasy.
Jack came to her rescue "We do serve salads."
Arcee smiled "That'll do."
The former two wheeler bought a salad on a large soda and with no cars going through the drive through Jack had some free time, which gave them time to talk. "We weren't ready." she said.
"For what?" Jack asked.
"For sex Jack." Arcee said bluntly causing him to blush a little, she rolled her eyes "Come on Jack we should be able to talk about this, we're both adults." she thought for a second "Well at least I am."
Jack smiled "Well you don't look a day over sixteen."
"Very smooth partner." Arcee laughed "But seriously it happened to fast."
Jack sighed "Yeah, it happened by accident and then it was like I didn't know if it was right to do it or not."
"Exactly." Arcee took a bite of her salad before putting it down "At the risk of sounding like a bad teen series, our first time should be perfect."
"Wait, so there will be a first time." Jack asked his eyes widening a little.
Arcee smiled "Yeah, it won't be today or tomorrow but it'll come. We just have to wait for it."
"Sound like a plan." Jack stepped forward and wrapped his arms around Arcee in a hug, to which she happily returned. After a minute they pulled away just enough so they could look each other in the eye but still be in each others arms "Since you were you the patient type?"
"Hey I can be patient." Arcee protested.
Jack raised an eyebrow "Really?"
"Well," she leaned in closer "As long as I've got something to occupy myself with, or someone." Arcee purred and with that they began kissing passionately.
They were kissing for about a minute when another employee was walking by but stopped and began staring at Arcee's backside. Jack opened his eyes and saw the guy ogling his girlfriend "HEY!" he snapped scaring him "BEAT IT!" he pointed in a random direction and the guy ran, straight into a wall. He held his face and groaned in pain before running off.
"Wow." Arcee said having seen the whole thing "You were pretty hot there."
"Hey nobody gets to stare at my girlfriend but me." Jack said proudly.
They spent the rest of Jacks shift talking and making out, when it was over they left "And I thought being in the parking lot was bad." Arcee said "How do you stand the smell alone?"
"You get used to it." Jack shrugged before placing an arm around her "Of course today was definitely the best day I ever had at work."
Arcee smirked "That probably wouldn't be that hard, but thanks. So what should we do now?"
Jack thought for a moment "Well we could take my bike to the mall, maybe get some food?"
"That sounds good, but do we have to take your tenspeed?" she asked.
"I know its not as cool as your vehicle mode but it can get us from A to B." Jack said unlocking the bike chain. "Wait a minute." he looked between the bike and Arcee "Can you ride a bike?"
"What?" the former two wheeler asked.
Jack repeated the question "Do you know how to ride a bike?"
Arcee raised an eyebrow "Jack in my vehicle mode I was able to break speed records, I think I could handle riding that." she points at the bike.
Jack smirks and brings the bike over, Arcee gives him a look and he replies "You once asked me if I could build a small intestine."
Remembering the day Arcee, Bumble Bee, and Bulkhead helped Jack, Raf and Miko with their science projects at least until Ratchet took over, "Loser buys lunch?"
"Sure." Jack nodded.
"Alright." she took the bike handles and took it towards the parking lot.
"This should be good." Jack thought to himself.
Arcee straddled the bike and looked back at Jack "Prepare to be impressed." she looked ahead with a confident smirk on her face and set off, only to fall on her side a few seconds later "OW!"
"Wow I am impressed Sadie." Jack chuckled "that's the fastest I've ever seen someone fall off a bike."
Arcee quickly got up "Ha ha," she laughed sarcastically "I just misjudged my balance." she set the bike up and got on again. This time she made it a few inches before falling "SCRAP!"
Jack held in his chuckle "Need some help?"
"NO!" Arcee said frustrated getting up "I can do this." she took off again but quickly started to wobble and began to fall, but this time she felt a pair of arms wrap around her waist stopping her from falling.
She turned her to head to see Jack holding on to her from behind "It stopped being funny the second time."
"I don't need any help." Arcee looked away.
"Yes you do and I know you well enough to know your way too stubborn to ask for help." Jack said.
"All humans are stubborn." she mumbles.
"Hey don't blame my species." Jack replied "You were stubborn way before you became human." He let go of her and walked in front of her "I think we found what were gonna do today, teaching you to ride a bike and I'm not taking no for answer."
Arcee sighed "Fine, just don't tell anyone about this. Its embarrassing."
"I promise." Jack assured her before laughing a little "I'm just glad its not me being embarrassed for once." He waited till Arcee was set up and took hold of one handle bar and placed the other on her back "Start peddling slow and easy." Arcee followed his instructions and peddled, she went further a little shaky but okay "That's good, keep it up."
"Much better." Arcee smiled at her progress.
They practiced for about an hour before calling it a day "Great work out there Sadie."
"Thanks Jack." she said getting off the bike.
"Tomorrow we'll work on you keeping yourself steady." Jack said getting on the bike "For now lets get some food, hop on." Arcee sat on the back of the bike wrapping her arms around Jacks waist and moment later they were off to the mall "Oh and just in case you've forgotten our little bet, your paying for lunch."
Arcee's eyes widened s she remembered the bet, that she had confidently made "Fine." she sighed "I'll pay." then she remembered something that made her smirk "Or more accurately, Fowler will." that made them booth laugh.
It was a couple of hours later when they got home to find June had beat them there "Hey you two, have a good day?"
"A great day." Arcee said before she and Jack looked at each and laughed a little remembering their make out session at the mall.
This did not go unnoticed by June "That's so funny?"
The two of them stopped laughing instantly "Nothing." they said together.
The suspicious nurse walked in front of them ""You two are hiding something, What is it?"
"Hiding something, were not hiding anything Mom why would you think that?" Jack pretended not to know what she was talking about.
"Jack." Arcee said suddenly "We should tell her."
Jacks eyes widened "What?"
"Lets just tell her." Arcee said casually.
"Tell me what?" June asked wondering where this was going.
Arcee looked June right in the eye and said "I can't ride a bike."
The nurse blinked "What?"
"I tried riding Jacks bike but fell over, twice. So Jack gave me a lesson in the parking lot and after that we went to the mall for something to eat." she explained.
"Oh." June said in surprise.
"I didn't want anyone to know because it was embarrassing." the former two wheeler admitted.
"Arcee theres nothing to be embarrassed about." June assured her placing a hand on her shoulder "Everybody fall when they're learning to ride a bike, why Jack used to fall so often I had to teach him in the yard."
"Is that right?" Arcee smirked looking at Jack.
"Hey I was six." he argued.
Later when night came they all retired for the night, June went to her bedroom and Arcee went to Jacks room while Jack made up the couch. He stood there looking at it for a couple of minutes, then decided to take a chance and headed to his bedroom. He paused at the door and took a deep breath before opening the door, he saw Arcee sitting up on the bed hugging the blankets to her chest. The two of them made eye contact "Room for one more?"
Arcee smiled lowering the blanket revealing her pink lace nighty "Wasn't the same with out you." she patted the side of the mattress inviting him to join her.
Jack happily accepted and slipped in under the covers "Thanks this is a lot better than the couch."
"Much better." Arcee said cuddling up to him, she noticed Jack chuckling "What?"
"I just think its kind of funny that the toughest girl on two planets, loves to cuddle." he laughed.
"Well keep it to yourself, I have an image to protect." the former two wheeler laughed back, a moment later she stopped "Remember earlier when you said you knew me well enough that I wouldn't ask for help?"
Jack raised an eyebrow "Yeah."
Arcee smirked "I like to think I know you pretty well to partner." with that she lifted the blankets to reveal a pair of fishnet stockings she was wearing.
Jack admired her shapely legs and smiled at her "Yes you do." with that they embraced each other kissing passionately, Arcee raised her leg onto Jacks side where he happily began stroking it.
The following morning they decided to return to practice, this time in front of Jacks house "Okay just like yesterday" Jack said as Arcee got on the bike "Oh but first." he placed his helmet on Arcee's head "Just in case you have another accident."
Arcee could clearly be seen glaring at him from behind the visor "Ha, ha."
"Alright lets get started." he walked beside her as she went "Looking good" he smirked "And your riding the bike well to."
"That was really cheesy Jack." the former to wheeler laughed, once far enough they turned and came back the same way. An idea came to Arcee that made her smirk under the helmet "I'm just glad I wore shorts today, a skirt would have kept riding up putting my panties in plain view."
Jack felt his face heat up as the image formed in his mind, he was brought out of those thoughts when he walked into a mailbox "OOF!" he stopped instantly and Arcee stopped a moment later laughing "What was that for?" he asked holding his stomach.
"For laughing yesterday." she laughed.
Jack caught up to her "You can be really devious, you know that."
"I know." Arcee smiled.
Jack stood behind her placing his hands on the back of the bike "Okay back to work, now just try balancing yourself." Arcee started peddling and Jack stayed behind her holding the back steady "That's good, keep it steady, don't worry I'm right behind you."
Arcee rolled her eyes "Let me guess, here comes the part where you let go without me noticing so that I ride all by myself? Sorry partner but I'm not that easy to fool."
"Is that right?" Jacks voice sounded far away, Arcee turned her head back to see Jack was standing a good distance away from her smirking "Seemed pretty easy from here."
Arcee pulled the brakes stopping the bike before turning around and cycled back over to him, she took off helmet revealing her annoyed expression and pointed a finger right in his face "Don't ever tell anyone about that!" she said angry that she had fallen for that while saying she wouldn't.
"Your cute when your angry." Jack laughed "Scary, but cute."
"Jack!" Arcee said seriously.
"Don't worry I won't." Jack assured her before putting his arm around her "I'd say you've officially learned to how to ride a bike, congratulations."
"And in just two days." she smirked before asking "How long did it take you to learn?"
"I was six." he pointed out again.
Arcee just laughed stepping off the bike "Anyway thanks for the lessons, but hopefully I'll get to ride something better next time."
"Look say what you will about the tenspeed." Jack said getting on it "But theres one thing it is, its reliable." he peddled once and the chain snapped.
Arcee raised an eyebrow "You were saying?"
Jack picked up the chain to inspect the damage "Aw I'm gonna need to buy a new chain."
"You need a whole new bike." Arcee laughed but then an idea struck her "In fact," she pulled out the credit card "I think we both could use a new set of wheels."
"Are you serious?" Jack asked.
"Hey the others aren't always gonna be available to drive us around, they tend to be fighting a war and saving the earth." the former two wheeler explained.
Jack thought for a moment, if he hadn't met Arcee he probably would have gotten a new bike a long time ago "Can't argue with that logic." he shrugged.
Arcee smiled "Shall we?" and they set off into town. Jack knew the right place to go and they soon arrived at a place called "Jasper Cycles."
Jack opened the door "After you."
"Such a gentleman" she said walking in and looking around the store, it wasn't overly big and had different bikes, scooters and skateboards of different sizes.
"Well find something good here, this is where I bought my tenspeed." Jack noticed Arcee giving him a look "Hey it was in great shape when I first bought it."
"I'll take your word for it." she laughed.
"Hello there." came a voice getting there attention, a tall man in his forties with brown hair, a moustache walked in "Jack," he recognised him "Long time no see."
"Hey Gary." Jack came forward and shook his hand "Hows business?"
"Business has been good, with the good weather a lot more people are spending their time outside." he said in a friendly tone.
"That's great, oh yeah." Jack pulled Arcee over "This is Sadie, my girlfriend."
"Hi." Arcee said.
"Nice to meet you." Gary shook her hand before smiling at Jack "Girlfriend huh? Didn't know you had it in you."
Jack scratched the back of his head "Neither did I."
"So what can I do for you two?" Gary asked.
"We're each looking to buy a bike." Arcee said.
"Well you came to the right place." Gary smiled "Let me show you what I have in stock."
Gary showed them different bikes until one particular grabbed Arcee's attention, it was mainly dark blue with pink in places "Remind you of someone?" she whispered to Jack.
"Wow." Jack said seeing the bike colour scheme "Weird."
"I take this one catches your fancy." Gary said walking over to the bike "You've got good taste Sadie."
"Thanks." Arcee said "Theres something about the colour I like." she laughed a little.
"And what about you Jack?" Gary asked.
Jack looked around and saw a red and black bike "This one looks good." Jack said looking it up and down.
"Good choice." Gary said.
"Do you mind if we take them for a test drive?" Arcee asked.
Gary smiled "I'd be insulted if you didn't."
Jack and Arcee took the bikes outside and cycled them for a couple of minutes before they made up their minds, they looked at each other then looked at Gary "We'll take them." they said together.
"Excellent!" Gary said happily "Just bring them inside for a minute while we short out payment."
"Do you take credit cards?" Arcee asked.
"Yes I do." Gary nodded.
A few minutes later Jack and Arcee left Jasper Cycles on their new bikes "So what do you wanna do next?" Jack asked.
"Well I'd say we've got two options." Arcee said "We can keep riding our new bikes around town for a while, or we could get a lift to base and make out in my room again."
Jack was silent for a moment before answering "I vote option two!"
The former two wheeler laughed "I thought you would."
They cycled home and called for a lift, not longer after that Bumble Bee picked them up and brought them to base. They only ones present were Optimus and Ratchet at the main computer console and Raf sitting on the couch of the raised area playing a video game "Welcome back guys." he greeted Jack and Arcee as they stepped out of the scout who returned to robot mode "Ready to play Bee?" The scout beeped nodding and picked his own controller joining his young charge in the game.
"Wheres our resident wrecking crew?" Jack asked not seeing Miko or the Wreckers.
"They're down in the lower levels." Ratchet said "Bulkhead and Wheeljack are engaged in another game of lobbing, while Miko is playing that irritating guitar." he grumbled.
"That sounds about right." Arcee laughed.
"They seem to constantly forget that lobbing has been banned in the command room." the medic went on "Every time they break something it sets me back on repairing the Reformatting Module and returning you to normal."
Arcee looked deep in thought for a moment then spoke "You know what Ratchet, theres no hurry on that."
Those words made Ratchet pause "Come again?"
"Take as long as you need fixing the module." she said.
Ratchet was truly taken by surprise "But I assumed you couldn't wait to become Cybertronian again."
"Well I was at first." the former two wheeler admitted "But after a while, I saw that being human was actually fun."
"Fun?" he raised an optic ridge.
"Yeah." Arcee said before looking at Jack smiling "The most fun I've had in long time." he returned the smile, this did not go unnoticed by Optimus.
"I see." Ratchet said though still confused "Either way, I will still work diligently towards the modules repair."
"I would expect anything less from you Ratchet." Arcee nodded before looking at the screen "What are you working on right now."
"The Decepticons possession of the Iacon database gives them the advantage in the search for the Iacon relics." Optimus explained "If we are to tip the balance in our favour, we must gain access to the database."
"You mean like sneak aboard the cons ship and download it?" Jack asked.
"I'm afraid that is not an option." Ratchet said "Even if we were able to find the Nemesis and bridge onto it undetected, the Iacon data base is far to large to be downloaded without detection."
"So what else could we do?" Arcee asked.
"That we have yet to discover." Optimus said "Until then we must rely on Rafaels search programs and detecting the Iacon homing beacons placed upon the relics."
"Were the beacons put on all of the relics?" Jack asked.
"Sadly no, when Iacon was invaded the relics had to be sent off world away from Megatrons clutches. There is no way of knowing how many homing beacons were able to be attached before they were ejected into space." the prime explained.
"Perfect." Arcee said sarcastically.
"Doesn't matter." Jack said getting their attention "Even if the cons find the relics first we just use the two things we have that they don't to take them from them." he counted off his fingers "Superior skill and team work."
"Well said Jack." Optimus nodded.
Arcee smiled at Jack "Aren't you the wise one, come on partner lets leave Optimus and Ratchet to their work." with that she lead Jack out of the command room towards her room.
Once they were gone Ratchet spoke up "Well that was a surprise, I never expected Arcee to adapt to human life so much that she would begin to actually enjoy it."
"I once told Arcee that her transformation was an opportunity to experience life as another species." Optimus said "And it would seem that her time as a human has helped her in more ways than we could have imagined."
"Perhaps." Ratchet said turning back to the console "But I would say Jack is mainly responsible for Arcee's adjustment and good mood."
Optimus looked to the door that Jack and Arcee had left through and smiled "On that old friend, I would agree."
And that's chapter 26, I should have the next chapter ready in a month. Until then here are some completely useless facts I read in a book. 1. George Washington grew marijuana in his backward. 2. Winston Churchill was Born in a ladies Lavatory. 3. In Paraguay, duelling is only legal if both fighters are registered blood donors. 4. One of the elements in dynamite is peanuts. 5. Whales can have lice.
