A/N I am so sorry for not updating but my laptop died. It is now fixed and I have only just reinstalled Microsoft onto it so yeah. I will not be able to update that often in the near future as I have my GCSE's in two weeks.
I will be trying to update as often as possible though. Thanks for waiting.
Chapter 25
Perseus' POV
I looked at the girls and Luke and I sighed. They were all munching on burgers. I got up and made to walk off.
"Where are you going Perseus?" Zoe asked.
I turned to her and said, "I am going to scout around."
She nodded and returned to eating.
I walked off; as I walked I caught sight of a few Empousai walking into the Natural History Museum. I glanced round and saw no other monsters. I slowly crept after them into the museum. I eventually followed them into the dinosaur section of the museum. They walked over to three huge men. I recognised all of them, Atlas, Perses and Pallas. I crept closer and heard Perses speaking.
"The quest is nearby right now so we should release the monsters."
Pallas nodded, "Yes I will go and release them."
He strode out of the room. I continued to approach the two titans. When I was about ten feet away from the two of them I stood up. Atlas spotted me and his face morphed into an evil smirk. Perses noticed this and he whipped round. When he saw me he grinned, "Ah, a lone demigod."
I smirked at this. He drew his spear and ran at me. He gave a quick jab at my gut. I drew my sword and I pushed it out of the way in one movement. I then countered with a slash at his body which he blocked. He fell back appraising me in a different light. In a straight fight I would be in trouble against him as he is one of the titan's strongest fighters.
He came at me again and then stopped still. He looked down in shock to see the javelin penetrating his chest. He fell forward and he flashed out before I could finish the job. I looked at Atlas and we stared at each other for a second before he smiled reached out his hand. I shook it firmly. "It is good to see you again my friend," he said happily.
I nodded in agreement, "It is indeed Atlas. How are you?"
He shrugged, "I am good Perseus." I heard a crash from behind us and I turned to see Pallas looking at us in shock. His face then turned to a smirk and he said, "Your demigod friends will be getting two nice little surprises any second now." He then flashed out as well.
I then ran out of the museum with Atlas hot on my heels. It took us about two minutes to reach my companions. They stared at the two of us in shock. "We need to go now." I said quickly.
They all got up immediately. "Come on Perseus they are coming." Atlas said, he pointed to the glass doors at the far side of the café. There were about twenty spartus trying to get in the door.
I nodded and led the group. As I did so Zoe caught up to me and asked, "Why is my father here?" I gave her a quick smile and said, "Later."
She nodded. As we rounded a corner I heard a small boy say, "Look mummy a kitty." This was followed by a roar. It came into view a few steps later.
"Crap," Zoe said.
Phoebe nodded, "Crap indeed. That thing is so difficult to kill it is not even funny."
Just as she said that the twenty spartus rounded the corner behind us.
We subconsciously grouped together. "You kids take out the lion. We will hold off the spartus." I said.
I strode towards the spartus without waiting for an answer. Atlas was right next to me.
The first one swung its sword at me in a downward arc, I ducked under it and I chopped it in half. I stabbed one through the head, while kicking the two pieces back. I then settled into a defensive rhythm, parrying and blocking any strike that came at me. Atlas did the same and we waited for the other four to get rid of the lion.
3rd Person's POV
The four kids split up with Zoe and Phoebe going round the edge while Thalia and Luke went to it to distract it. The lion growled and stalked towards the two of them. Luke and Thalia looked at each other and then drew their weapons. The slowly walked towards the monster. It roared again and then sprinted at Luke. Luke dived out of the way at the last moment and Thalia jabbed it giving it a small electric shock. It roared more annoyed than hurt. Luke and Thalia charged at it, Luke veering off to the left and Thalia to the right. Thalia grabbed her shield and rammed it into the hind legs of the lion. It's leg slowly buckled and then it slipped off balance. Luke saw the lion roar in pain and his eyes lit up as he saw the pink mouth that the lion had.
He turned back to Zoe and Phoebe and yelled, "You need to hit it in the mouth." As he finished the two girls nodded and then stared in shock at Luke as he was smashed by the lion's paw. He flew into a wall and lay still. Thalia roared in anger and she unleashed a huge bolt of lightning. It struck the lion. It roared in pain, and as soon as it opened its mouth, Zoe and Phoebe unleashed their arrows. The lion's face showed surprise before it dissolved into dust. Thalia ran to Luke. She reached down and checked his pulse. She sighed in relief as she felt a pulse. Zoe turned back to see her father and Perseus fighting the spartus.
"Come over here." She saw Perseus nod. He then summoned a wall of fire. The two of them ran over to help the other four. Atlas picked up Luke and they ran to the train station.
Just as they arrived a train pulled in called Sunwest Railways. He sent up a silent prayer of thanks to Apollo,( as much as he did not want to) and he said, "We are getting on this train."
The others shrugged and followed him on.
