Once the two were outside, they started to imediantly look for a place to hide. There were none, so maybe they should just leave? That was probably the best idea.

Grabbing Light's hand, L started to run down the road, on the sidewalk of course, he knew a place that she couldn't find them. He was going to go to Matsuda's work, but of course, he couldn't get caught by him.

Even though there was the chance that they could get caught by Matsuda, they both knew that they had no where else to go, and it was probably the safest place to hide.

Taking turns here and there, soon they had to stop and catch their breaths. Looking around, they didn't see ms. Kimberly anywhere, which was a good thing.

"L, where are we going?" Although L knew the way to the police station pretty well, Light did not, and thought that maybe they had been just running anywhere at random, but thought that couldn't be true, that's not like L at all.

"The police station." L said, soon catching his breath and starting to walk, with Light following closely behind him. "What? Why would you want to go there?"

"Well, why not? Where else are we suppose to go? Plus, as long as we stay hidden somewhere, we shouldn't get caught." It wasn't too far away now, and Light didn't say anything back, knowing L's idea was probably the best at the moment.

Upon reaching the Police Station, they were only met with one problem, how were they going to get inside without getting caught?

Suddenly, L pulled out a key from the back pocket of his jeans, and said "Lets go in from the back door." And started to head toward the back of the building.

"Where did you get that key from?" Light asked, he was with L the whole morning, there was no way that L could have left too get it or stole it without Light seeing.

"I got it out of bed while you were asleep, and went into Matsuda's room as soon as I knew he was asleep, then grabbed his key from his desk drawer. All NPA officers have keys that lead into the back in case an emergency arrives." L explained.

Normally, L wouldn't be able to get out of bed without Light knowing since they slept in the same bed, the bottom bunk, but lately Light thought that it might be better if he tried to sleep by himself. He didn't want to get into the habit of sleeping in the same bed as L, especially when he got older.

Light couldn't believe that the first night that he decided to sleep in the top bunk, was the night that L decides to sneak out of the room.

Light had some other questions, but decided that L could answer him once they found a place to hide, since L signaled him to be quiet once they were at the back door.

Opening the door and quietly going inside, both L and Light set to work trying to find an empty room. Upon walking down a hallway with no people, suddenly they heard Matsuda's voice, speaking to Ide.

"So anyways, after the chief gave me my job got back when I explained everything to him, with the help of a friend of mine to confirm the story, he sent me out to the new murder crime scene..."

Thinking fast, Light grabbed L's hand and took off down the hallway and entered a random room with the lights turned off. After shutting the door quietly, they soon heard Matsuda's voice as he passed the door.

"... and the girl was hanging upside down with her throat cut open, I believe she probably choked to death on her own blood before dieing from blood loss."

"Thats horrible, why are you telling me this, this was the reason I didn't want to take on that case..." They heard Ide say before they could no longer hear the voices.

After a few seconds, there was another pair of footsteps coming straight for the room that they were in. "Quick, hide." L said, running over to the desk.

Light followed right behind him, and they hid in the area under the desk where there was a part cut out from the wood where people could put their feet in, since there was no other place to hide in, in the medium sized room.

Entering the room, and turning on the lights, police chief Mr. Yagami entered his office. He had his back turned, and Light took a quick look at him before L pulled him back under the desk.

This can't be possible, Light thought, I watched my Father die during the investigation while we were chasing after Mello, he confirmed that I wasn't Kira before the heart monitor went blank.

There's no way he's still alive,... unless L had something to do with it. But how could he, he was long dead by that time.

Shooting L a glance, L had that look on his face that clearly said 'I'll explain later.' Within seconds, Mr. Yagami sat down in his chair with a sigh, and stared to work.

The whole time, Mr. Yagami was shifting through paper work or writing stuff down. To say that L and Light were bored was an understatement.

The only thing interesting to do was play rock-paper-scissors, have staring contests, and listen in on phone call that Mr. Yagami were making here and there.

It had been two hours, and both Light and L were getting very tired and bored. L no longer wanted to play rock-paper-scissors since he lose 23 times in a row, and Light hated playing the staring game since he lose all 52 games.

Moving around quietly, Light was laying on the ground with L on top of him, his head resting on Light's chest and his feet and legs curling in on themselves for lack of space, since there wasn't enough room for both of them to lay down without blowing their cover and accidently touching Mr. Yagami.

After about five minutes, they were both fast asleep, but little did they know, three minutes after they had fallen asleep, Mr. Yagami was ready to leave to go home to his wife and daughter.

Mr. Yagami had explained to his wife and daughter that he was force to go into hiding, and that Light was killed trying to save him, but it was a quick death, a bullet straight to the head, and the building soon exploded after he got out, leaving no trace of Light's body.

He was about to head out after locking the door from the outside, when he remembered that he needed to take a couple of files home for some work at home.

Picking up the papers from his desk, they accidently slipped from his hands, and under his desk. Bending down to get them, he had to surpress a gasp at the sight he saw.

Whoa, you dont even wanna know how long that took. Sorry for the late update, but I'm also working on a story called "L's traumatic past" so it'll take longer to update chapters, but not too long. Maybe a couple days longer at the most.

So, it's a cliff hanger. I dont know why but suddenly I wanted to end my chapters on cliff hangers, on both stories.

Please R&R, there has only been ONE person reviewing lately, and i'm starting to think that nobody likes this story anymore.

And if I dont have enough motivation, then I might abandon the story all together. So please leave a quick review, it doesnt have to be long and detailed, except for Celestia wolves, I like her reviews a lot, since she the ONLY ONE REVIEWING! But still, anything small will do.

I am dedicating this chapter to Celestia wolves, (if your really a boy, im sorry if i affended you) thanks for always reviewing!

P.S. From now on, im gonna re-read my chapters to fix any mistakes.
