"You must be Queen Susan of Narnia, I've heard a lot about you," he said in a solemn voice with a ghost of a smile.

At those words, Susan made a curtsey to greet the king. He raised his hands to indicate that she could stand straight and she did.

"Dinner is about to be served, let's sit at the table first," he said and Susan looked around to find a seat. She was at a lost until one of the servants approached a chair on the right side and slid it out a bit for the girl to slip in. She murmured a word of thanks and sat down.

"You're definitely as fair as my son has described you to be," The king said as he placed a napkin on his lap, not noticing Susan's pink face, "Have you been enjoying your stay on Middle Earth?"

"Yes, my Lord, I have been treated with due respect and politeness. Middle Earth is as civilized a place as I would hope it to be," she replied with her diplomatic tone.

Thranduil nodded and hid his surprise quite well, he could not believe that a young girl like her could possibly act as regal as she had been but he could not say it was unpredictable for her eyes told of wisdom beyond her actual age.

"It would be nice if you could tell me more about... Narnia, is it? And Earth?" he asked with a hint of hesitation, not quite sure if he had got the names right.

"Yes, that is right. If you would be so patient as to listen, I would not mind telling you," once again, Susan was wound up in telling her story, but this time, with more political details than adventure-based stories. She even compared the three worlds on different aspects and soon, she felt like a representative of both Earth and Narnia having a governmental exchange with Mirkwood, and a few years older in age.

The two royalties were engaging in a discussion of female participation in politics, with Thranduil asking the situation of the other two worlds and the Pevensie giving advice and examples of successful attempts, when there was a knock at the feasting hall.

"This must be my son," he said as the servant from the inside knocked in return to inform them to enter.

When the the door was opened, in came the gorgeous blonde elf with his usual silver suit and the two braids on the sides of his head tugged behind. He had the silver headdress on. Apparently, usual dinners with his father must be formal. He bowed at both the King and the Gentle Queen, who had stood up to greet him. His eyes lingered on Susan for a little longer before settling down on the left side, just across Susan.

"We were just discussing about politics. Queen Susan is probably the wisest Queen I've ever known other than Lady Galadriel and Queen Arwen. She has a lot of great insights concerning how to rule a country." The elder elf said with a slight smile of admiration. Susan returned it and said modestly, "You are too generous my Lord." Legolas grinned from ear to ear at his father's praises for the Narnian, he was taking an obvious liking towards her.

The company carried on their conversation as plates of food were set on the table. Due to elves love of nature and animals, there was no meat but fruits, bread and vegetables. The king motioned a servant to go to him and murmured something in his ears and he rushed out of the hall in no time to follow the instructions given.

After a mere minutes had passed, the servant returned with a jar.

"Queen Susan, I would be most delighted to have you taste our wine. This particular kind has not been brewed from the longest time but still, a thousand years is more than enough." The green-eyed elf said with a matter-of-factly tone.

Susan tried not to let her eyes grow wide, but one thousand years? Who brews wine for such a long time? If only her siblings were still here, Peter would have been delighted to try such mellow wine. But she herself was not the biggest fan and was easily drunk. Yet, due to manners, she accepted the offer with a faint smile as the servant filled her cup to the brim. She gulped at the amount and wondered how she could probably finish it.

As everyone looked at her, she faked confidence and held her cup up to clash with the other two. "Cheers!" And off the two male went swallowing down the liquid as if it were water, apparently, elves were not the most elegant of races when it came down to drinking.

She held her cup near her nose and took a deep breath. There was not the strong alcoholic smell she would expect for old wine, instead, the fruity smell of grapes lingered, causing her to picture a cup of grape juice. With that in her mind, she took a sip and a complicated sensation filled her mouth as if there were different layers of tastes merged together. Slowly, it diffused and there was a distinctive sweetness to it that caused the queen to take a liking to it. Slowly, she began to take in more sips and finished the whole glass in no time. The servant approached to fill her cup but she shook her head, for fear that she might get drunk and lose her way back to her chamber.

The meal ended with everyone's face red and heated up. Thranduil was laughing loudly at his son's return after some ten years, Legolas was sharing his woodland experience while Susan kept quiet and simply listened. She did not think she received much of the information for she was having a headache and noises around her were amplified by ten times. Of course, she was drunk.

She regretted slightly that she should have let Luthien leave her walking alone. Despite the fact that Mirkwood was a safe place, it was still too dark for a drunk person to search one's route. Moreover, those magical lights wasa five-minute walk from the cave, she would have a hard time getting back to the tree zone. Nevertheless, she was not going to tell the King she was drunk, it would have been embarassing, so she took her cloak, and followed a servant back to the entrance and left the cave.

She was walking in a wobbly manner while shivering from the cold wind. She walked slowly as she looked around to find her way but her eyes were so blurry that she could not see anything clearly. Suddenly, there was a pat on her shoulders and she jumped up out of surprise.

"Are you okay?" it was the familiar voice of the elven prince but in her state, she took quite some time to figure it out.

"You scared me," she said, patting her chest to calm herself down.

"I don't think you'll manage to get back in such a state," he commented frankly and slid her arm through his to keep her steady.

"It's not like you would be of any help either, you're as drunk as I am," the human muttered and nearly tripped over a pebble.

"Be careful," he cried out, holding her by the waist to keep her from falling. Normally, an awake Susan would blush but this drunken state one felt nothing in particular.

"I think it will be a better idea if I carry you on my back." He did not wait for her reply for he had already had her arms tied around his neck and legs wrapped around his waist. Soon enough, Susan fell asleep.

I hope this update pleases you! I believe Thranduil would be quite civil towards Susan if he were to meet her so here is my take. Susan getting drunk was fun! Update will be posted tomorrow as usual!

Reply to the Cretin: Thanks for the review and compliments! I will take your advice on not watching the program. Anyways, I always prefer reading information than watching it because I can always screen the context and find out which phrases are useful. I will definitely try to build Luthien's character bit by bit! Good Luck!
