School starts this week;-;(week of August 6th)that means the chapters might become shorter I'm afraid. I don't own fairytail Hiro-san does.
~Narrator's POV~
Gray stared at the ceiling blankly as he tried to catch his breath. Wendy was resting a corner while Mira pressed tissues to the little sky dragonslayer's bleeding ears. Erza stood near the door, preventing people from entering while Elizabeth stood next to Lucy's bed while Happy and Carla stood on the bed, the three of them trying to comfort Lucy, who was crying.
"Lucy look he's fine now," Elizabeth said as she tried to get Lucy to calm down.
Lucy's sobs turned to whimpers as she hugged Elizabeth and the exceeds, slowly falling asleep from exhaustion. As Elizabeth laid Lucy back down, Happy climbed off the bed and walked over to Makarov.
"Master will Lushee and Gray be O.K?" He asked.
Makarov looked at the exceed before smiling sadly and patting his small head.
"Those brats will be fine," he said before leaving the room.
~Timeskip~
Gray stared at the ceiling as he let his thoughts run wild. He felt as if he had been hit by a train and then as if he was repeatedly attacked in the head many times, which, if you think about it, it's half true. He didn't really remember what had happened after Daphne put him through that. He shivered in fear at the extrem pain and more that he felt when the extremely delusional woman literally injected ethernano into his system at some point and tried to rip his memories from him with multitudes of different spells. He laughed at himself dryly. It seemed funny to him, in a dark and twisted way, that it's happened to him many times already, most of them occuring recently.
Gray looked at the chains around his wrist again as he frowned. Idiot what's the last thing you remember? You can't be that stupid can you?! A voice yelled at him. I was on a mission with someone. He replied hesitantly.
Good now who am I?
I... His chain of thoughts broke again as he tried to think. He knew who it was, the name was dancing on the tip of his tounge, as he felt as if he knew who was talking to him forever.
Sheesh that crazy chick did more than just traping us then. She basically tried to wipe your memories.
Wow really? No one here knew that thanks for shining some light on the situation Katashi~san. A female voice retorted.
Gray grew frustrated as the two's names teased him.
Gray calm down. He's Katashi, as Aiko, the girl, mentioned and I'm Ryouta. A third voice stated.
You couldn't let me rant a little longer? Katashi asked annoyed.
He was ignored as Gray resumed hid train of memories. I was on a mission with someone. A... Girl I think. But we were attacked from above. I guess I was knocked out cause I woke up in a room with Daphne next to me. She tried to get me to have-
Again his train of thoughts were broken. This time by the door opening. A short, blue-haired girl walked in followed by a taller, black-haired male.
"Shrimp why are we here again?" The man asked as he chewed on a piece of metal.
"Gajeel! I'm supposed to find the effects of the spell! You don't have to be here!" The girl shouted at him.
Gray scrambled up to a sitting position, tense, as the two fought each other. Gajeel glanced at his direction before shoving Levy slightly into Gray's direction. Levy stumbled and caught herself before sending a glare at Gajeel. She turned towards Gray, who in turn stared at her as she made her way towards him. She smiled at him nervously as his eyes bore into her eyes, feeling offput by his intense staring. She squeaked in surprise when a hand landed on her head and jumped back.
"Gee-hii," Gajeel laughed as she released the breath she didn't know she was holding.
"Erm..." Gray started out.
"Gray are you O.K?" She asked.
Gray hesitated for a minute, searching her and Gajeel's faces warily before turning away from her. Gray-nee their your friends. Don't worry! Aiko's voice echoed through his ears. He sighed and turned back to Levy slightly, just enough to be able to see her face and her to see half of his, before answering.
"Yea I'm fine but who are you two?"
~Two Weeks Later~
Gray wandered around the guildhall as he waited for Lucy and Elizabeth. He finally sat down at the bar counter and layed his head down, watching Mira and Lisanna work around the kitchens and deliver food to everyone. A week ago he was allowed to leave the infirmary as he had gained enough memories back to actually move around freely. He still didn't really trust all the members but he felt comfortable enough to make small talk with them and be near everyone.
The doors to the guild opened as Lucy walked in, followed by Elizabeth. The two walked over to the bar while handing out greetings to everyone. Lucy headed over to him while Elizabeth ambled over to a group of girls, all glancing at him and Lucy and speaking in hushed whispers.
"Ohayo Gray!" Lucy said as she sat next to him.
"Morning," he mumbled as he sat up and turned to her.
Lucy was still shorter than him, the top of her head barely reaching his chin, so she had to look up to meet his gaze. Grays cheeks slowly started to turn red when he glanced down at her. The shirt she was wearing showed off her curves and when he looked down he got a clear view of her bra.
"Are you ready to start going on missions again?" she asked, not noticing tat he was slowly turning into a tomato.
Gray nodded and stood, Lucy following suit. Lucy made her way to the mission board, occasionally dodging flying mages and objects and flipping the the middle finger while Gray followed her.
Lucy glanced at Gray's bare wrist out of the corner of her eye as he scanned the board. Makarov had informed her that the bracelet had been badly damaged when Gray had went missing and it was going to take at least another week before it was fully repaired.
Right as the two decided on a mission, Erza appeared behind them.
"Master says that you need at least one other person to assist you in monitoring Gray therefore I have decided to join," she told Lucy.
A sweatdrop appeared on Lucy and Gray's face as Erza took the sheet and scanned it.
"Erm Erza shouldn't we at-" Lucy started only to get cut off.
"Erza's going with you?! That means I can too right? I'm fired up now!" Nastu shouted as he ran up to the trio.
A tickmark grew on Lucy's face as the fire mage slung his hand across her shoulders and took the request sheet from Erza. A murderous aura seeped from the two girls as Natsu blabbered on about the mission.
"Team Nastu's back and better than ever! And for this mission we can all get twenty thousand jewels each! When will we leave? Can we walk instead? I don't-GAH!" He rambled until Lucy and erza sent him flying.
Gray had backed away from them slowly as Natsu chattered. He ducked out of the way as Natsu sailed to the other side of the guildhall and crashed to the ground.
"Freaking idiot," Lucy muttered before turning to Gray. "Are you ready?"
"Erm..yea," Gray replied cautiously.
"Great! Let's go now and we can be back before night today," Lucy cheered, her anger long gone as she snatched his hand and dragged him to the bar to get it stamped.
"So are you two going on another mission?" Elizabeth said as she walked over to Mira, who was writing the mission in the log book.
"Mn!" Lucy hummed.
A grin appeared on the demonslayer's face as a small blush appeared on Gray's face. She followed where his eyes were staring at and she realized that he was looking at Lucy's cleavage.
"So Gray," she grinned, catching his attention.
"Eh? What do you need," he asked, his attention turning to her.
"Is their anyone you like in the guild? Or perhaps, you remember who you wanted to ask out?" Elizabeth smirked, catching Mira and Lucy's attention.
The blush on Gray's face grew and darkened and he averted his eyes from them. The three watched him curiously as they waited on him to respond.
"I-i erm... I don't..." He stuttered nervously.
Erza appeared behind the two and placed a hand on Lucy and Gray's shoulder, surprising the two.
"For crying out loud could you not?!" Lucy snapped, tired of Erza sneaking up on her all the time.
Erza glared at Lucy, who glared back, as Gray sighed in relief. Elizabeth sighed sadly as the three left and Lisanna walked over and patted her back.
"Don't worry Lizzy I'll get them together and be Mira's top student!" She cheered.
Elizabeth turned to the short-haired girl with a forced smile.
"Oh really? I really do think that that spot has my name on it don't you think? Oh and I will be the one who will get those two together," she said.
The two clashed together, nither backing down as they started throwing insults at each other. Mira walked over and the two simontaimonsly pulled apart as grinned at the takeover mage.
"Sensei, Gray still likes Lucy-nee!" Elizabeth cheered while smirking at Lisanna.
"Mira-nee I may have a plan to get Gray to confess to Lucy," Lisanna smirked.
Mira's eyes sparkled as she grabbed their hands and dragged them to the kitchen to discuss their plans before Lucy and Gray came back.
~Time Skip~
"Why is he here again?" Gray grumbled as Natsu hung out the window, barfing.
"Ugh kill me now," Natsu groaned as the train continued to bounce.
"With pleasure," the ice mage snarled, his eyes flashing dangerously as he stood.
Lucy sighed and Erza slapped Gray, knocking him back into the seat. Gray didn't really understand why his hatred for the fire mage went so deep but he was sure he wouldn't feel any remorse if Natsu kicked the bucket. One thing's for sure though. He knew that the reason why he sometimes caught Lucy staring at a picture sadly, she wouldn't show him the picture, was because of something Natsu did in the past. He had also noticed that Lucy didn't really interact with anyone in the hall aside from a small group of people. This lead him to think that maybe Natsu wasn't alone when Lucy was hurt. That also caused him to question if he also hurt Lucy.
"Now Natsu come here. I may have something ro help you," Erza said. Natsu dragged himself out of the window and to Erza. "Just relax."
"OK," he groaned out.
Erza punched Natsu quickly and suddenly in the stomach, effectively knocking him out.
"There that should stop his suffering," she said as he slumped over into his lap.
Lucy rolled her eyes and leaned back into her seat as Gray rubbed his cheek.
~Three Days Later~
Lucy was sitting at the bar next to Gray, sipping on a milkshake when it happened.
"EVERYONE GET DOWN!!!" Wendy, Gajeel, and Natsu shouted, the roof exploding seconds later.
Screams filled the guildhall as the roof collapsed. Lucy grabbed Gray in a blind panic as more explosions rocked the guildhall.
"SKY DRAGON: ROAR!!" Lucy heard from somewhere.
"LUCY!! LUCY WHERE ARE YOU?!" A shrill voice screamed.
"Gray I need to find Elizabeth!" Lucy yelled at him.
Gray whipped his head in her direction and noticed the tears in her eyes. He looked around, even though his sight was limited from all the dust in the air, and saw many of the guild members scrambling around trying to get out and many others trying to help the ones trapped or hurt.
"GRAY!!!" Lucy shouted again while shaking him.
"L-lucy split up and grab as many people as you can. We have to get everyone out of here!" He said as he let her go.
"A-aye," she nodded as she stepped back. "Hey Gray... Stay safe, for me."
"Ok," he said as Lucy ran off.
The last he saw of her was a flash of her gold hair before she disappeared through thw dust completely. Gray turned and ran in a random direction. When he finally found someone, he nearly tripped on them.
Happy was lying on the ground, facedown, with Romeo next to him. Gray picked up the dust covered cat and looked him over, only finding a cut running across Happy's back.
"Gray?" Happy coughed out as the said ice mage placed him on top of his head.
"I'll get you two to Wendy don't worry," Gray said as Happy gripped his hair in between his tiny blue paws.
"Four. There's four of us here," Romeo. Said as he shifted, revealing Asuka underneath him, unharmed.
"Over there. Natsu saved us but he's stuck," Happy said, tears forming in his eyes and dripping onto Gray's hair.
Gray frowned as he saw a hand sticking out of a pile of rubble. He turned away from the buried fire mage and picked up Romeo and Asuka.
"What what about Natsu?" Romeo asked as Gray started to leave the said fire mage behind.
"You two are injured. I've got to get you to Wendy ," Gray said as he continued to walk away.
Lucy ran through the dust, heading in the direction of Elizabeth's last cry for help.
"Memory-Make: Torunēdo No Dansu!" She shouted, wind swirling around her and clearing the dust for a moment.
She spotted Elizabeth under a beam and ran towards her as more dust started to limit her sight again.
~Timeskip~
Lucy dragged Elizabeth out the guild while Virgo followed her closely, carrying Lisanna. All around her were injured people and some still fighting.
"Memory-make: Divine protection-Repel!" She shouted.
A blue dome with gold streaks formed around her and exploded outward, knocking all the enemies away from the guild while leaving anyone with the FairyTail mark safe.
"Princess! Why would you use a spell that consumes so much energy?!" Virgo yelled at Lucy as she caught the blonde when her knees buckled.
Virgo pulled out a chocolate bar and stuck it in Lucy's mouth before setting her on the ground.
"Lucy? Lucy where are you?!" A panicked voice shouted from behind her.
Lucy turned as saw Gray with his back to her a couple of meters away from her, looking around frantically.
"Gray!" She cried out in relief.
Lucy stood up and sent Virgo back to the spirit world as Gray turned around. Lucy ran to him and her ran up to her(cue slowmo dramatic running and music lol) and caught her as she fell again.
"Awww how touching! Gray dear this makes me want to kill that little bimbo even more now that I know you love her so much.
Gray stiffened in Lucy's arms as the two looked up. Above the barrier was Daphne, an insane look in her eyes as the dark guild surrounded the barrier. Gray began to tremble in fear as Daphne stared at him with hungry eyes.
"Gray snap out of it! I won't let her hurt you," Lucy told him as her grip tightened around him.
"Oh I won't hurt my dear Gray! Only you Blondie!" Daphne snarled.
Lucy winced and the dome shattered outward, shards of it stabbing the surroumdimg dark mages with pure celestial magic and knocking them out.
"NONONO!!" Daphne screeched in rage.
A magic circle appeared underneath Lucy and Gray and the two were blown apart. Gray crashed into a broken wall while Lucy rolled across the ground before coming to a stop.
"How can she use magic?! She's not a mage!" Elizabeth exclaimed in shock and surprise.
Another magic circle appeared underneath Lucy and before it exploded, a sword flew through the air towards Daphne. Daphne threw up a shield but the spell was cancel.
"Erza!" Lucy said with relief as the scarlet-haired woman appeared next to her.
Erza helped Lucy up before turning to look up at Daphne, who had a crazy smirk on her face.
"Yes yes yes! Now you shall die by the hands of the one you love!!" She screeched as the temperature dropped.
Lucy and Erza turned to Gray, who had a magic circle fading underneath him as he stood slowly. His bangs covered his eyes as he stared at the ground.
"Gray?" Lucy asked as he stood there, slightly crouched.
Instead of answering, he launched forward, a sword of ice instantly appearing in his hands as he slashed downward onto the two girls. Erza grabbed Lucy and jumped backwards, avoiding the sharp ice before requiping.
"How dare you Gray?! We're in the middle of a battle and your attacking your own comrades?!" Erza yelled at him as she jumped foreward with a sword of her own.
Gray stayed silent as he comtinued to fight Erza, dodging her blade and striking back with his own.
"Aww it's a shame he can't hear you!" Daphne teased as she continued to watch the two fight.
"What do you mean by that Daphne?!" Lucy screamed at her.
Just then, Erza kicked Gray in the face and his bangs blew backwards, revealing his eyes, which were blank and lifeless. Erza took a step back in shock as Gray flipped and landed on his feet.
"Lucy she's controling him somehow!" Erza said as she switched armors again.
"What?!" Lucy screech before jumping out of the way of some arrows Gray shot at her.
Erza flew up to Daphne in her flight armor and leaving Gray to attavk Lucy.
"Lucy you try to see if you can get him to snap out of it. I'll handle Daphne," Erza instructed.
Lucy shivered from the cold and the thought of fighting Gray like this.
"A-aye!" She said as a key appeared in her hands. "Open! Gate of the lion: Leo!"
Golden lights filled the area and a bell chime was heard as Loke appeared. He pushed his sunglasses further up his face as he smirked at Gray, who just stared back.
"What seems to be the problem Princess?" Loke asked.
"Daphne is controlling him and we've got to figure out how to snap him out of it," Lucy explained as Gray got into another magic stance.
"Shouldn't be too hard," Loke smirked as his fists lit up with his magic. "He's already trying to fight it."
Gray trembled in his spot before ice coated the floor. Loke caught Lucy, who slipped, and Gray used that as a distraction to attack. Lances made of ice rained down upon the two and Loke was hit in the stomach.
Cursing, Loke started to fade away in gold sparkles as Lucy tried to grab him.
"I'm sorry Lucy!" He cried as he disappeared back into the spirit world.
"GGGGRRRAAAAYYYYYYY!!!" Daphne screeched as she was knocked from the sky by Erza.
Gray and Lucy looked up to see Daphne falling from the sky with Erza nowhere to be found. Gray jumped up and caught Daphne before landing back on the ground.
"Thank you Gray!" She cried as she kissed him on the lips.
Lucy shook in disgust and anger as she glared at Daphne, getting into a magic stance. Gray stared at her impassively as Daphne continued to kiss him.
"Memory-Make," Lucy muttered as she raised her hand.
Daphne pulled away from Gray, leaving a trail of spit and his mouth half open as she turned to grin at Lucy. Her eyes widened in surprise as Lucy casted her spell.
"Inferno of the Stars!" Lucy shouted.
Less than a second later, everyone surrounding Lucy was knocked to the ground by a massive heat wave. Gray dropped Daphne as he crashed into a wall, the same one as before, and crumpled to the ground, deathly pale.
Tears filled Lucy's eyes as she watched him struggle for breath. Daphne stood up and glared at Lucy.
"What have you done to him?!" Daphne screamed, sweat pouring from her face.
"Whatever your doing to Gray... Stop it! Leave him alone!" Lucy yelled at Daphne.
Daphne glared at Lucy before a magic circle appeared underneath Gray. A few seconds later, it disappeared. Lucy cancled her spell and all the heat disappeared, replaced by the cold winter air.
~In Gray's Mind~
Gray slammed his body against the wall of ruins that trapped him. He couldn't use his magic but he was very aware of what Daphne did to him. Aiko was on the other side of the ruins, alongside Katashi and Ryouta, all chained to the ground. The chains were dark purple and they pulsed with magic energy. Ren stood above them, bored, as he watch the lacrama that showed them what was going on in the real world.
"Ren! Help me out of here!" Gray yelled as he tried again to break the ruins.
Ren turned to Gray, a smile on his face, and stretched his arms over his head.
"No but I'll thank that little black headed girl for trapping you so I can get free," he grinned before turning away. "That blonde looks like she can entertain me in the bedroom though."
"Ren I'll kill you! Don't you dare touch Lucy!" Gray snarled as he glared at Ren.
"I have matters to attend to Gray. Goodbye," Ren grinned.
Before Gray could say anything, Ren disappeared. A second later, the ruins around him broke but he was instantly chained with the same chains as the others. His vision darkened slightly as he felt his magic draining from him.
~Back with Lucy~
Lucy and Daphne glared at each other, both waiting for someone to make a movement. Daphne blocked Gray from Lucy, who was trying to figure out a way to take down her without using up the last of her magic.
Suddenly, a shard of purple ice, roughly the size of a katana, appeared from Daphne's chest. Daphne coughed out blood as the wound began to bleed and she crashed to the ground. There stood Gray, but with a few noticable changes.
His hair was light blue and slightly longer than usual. Wolf ears, the same vibrant blue as his hair, rested on top of his head. His eyes were a dark crimson color and they shone with hate as he stared down at Daphne, who was gasping for breath.
Lucy stared in fear as Gray slowly grinned, revealing sharp canines.
"It's good to be back," he grinned, the ice disappearing from Daphne's body.
"I really should thank you. After all, your the reason why I'm here." He continued as he lifted his foot and began to dig the heel of his shoe into Daphne's stab wound. "I hope you rot in-"
Gray was cut off by a sword being held against his neck. Wielding the sword was Erza, a dark look in her eyes, as Natsu ran past the two to Lucy.
"Lucy!" He shouted in relief as he grabbed her into a hug.
"Lucy what's happened to Gray?" Erza demanded as Gray continued to smile.
"T-that's not Gray," Lucy stuttered as his smirk grew.
"Correct! I am Ren Fang, ice slayer of wolves! And now, I will be the slayer of you!" He laughed as he headbutted Erza and jumped away from her.
Natsu's grip on Lucy tightened when Ren turned to look at Lucy.
"I'll keep you alive for some fun. Gray would love to see us go at it," he grinned.
"Over my dead body!" Natsu growled, eyes flashing.
"You'll have to get past us also," a new voice stated.
Erza turned to see Elizabeth and Mira, beaten up but with fury evident in their eyes.
"Looks like Wendy was able to heal your major injuries," Erza stated.
"This is nice and all but I'm bored," Ren sighed. "Guess we'll have to change that!"
A huge buster sword made entirely of of his ice appeared in his hands. Chains of ice surrounded and chained everyone except Erza.
"Why can't I melt this?!" Natsu exclaimed as he burst in flames again to try to melt the chains.
"Wolf-slaying magic is beyond the power of you puny dragon-slaying Pinky," Ren deadpanned.
"I've never heard of wolf-slaying magic!" Lucy yelled at him.
"Wolf-slaying magic was erased from history after the only family line were all killed in the war between Zeref 400 years ago," Elizabeth said. "Us demon-slayers were also almost wiped out too."
"Thank you for the little history lesson," Ren grumbled, a tickmark appearing on the side of his face. "Otherwise..."
Natsu yelped in surprise and fear as a blade of ice nicked his cheek.
"I'll just kill the pink-haired freak," he finished.
Erza's eyes darkened as she requiped, now being cloaked in her flight armor. She launched herself at Ren and he smirked, raising his sword and meeting her blade with his. Erza's blade cracked and shattered and she was blown backwards from the force while he didn't move.
"He broke Erza's sword?!" Elizabeth cried out in shock.
Erza flipped through the air and kicked off a wall, requiping to her heaven's wheel armor.
"Circle Swords! Dance my blades" Erza shouted, hundreds of swords appearing around her and firing at Ren.
~Time Skip(sorry I'm terrible at battle scenes and I don't want to subject you to my failed attempt)~
A severely injured Natsu shielded an equally injured Erza as Ren continued to kick Natsu in the back.
"Your weak! Youu couldn't even protect the woman you love! Yet you call yourself a dragonslayer?" Ren cackled as Natus winced and continued to take hits for Erza.
Mira and Lucy struggled in their chains while Elizabeth layed on the ground, unconscious after fighting Ren after Erza.
"I'm going to kill you three and take Blondie and the She-devil as my prize! Then, I'll bang them till they can't ever walk(yep he's a pervert) and kill the She-devil. Only then will I slowly torture Gray's weak and so-called lover and then kill her!" He continued, looking up and smirking at the mentioned two.
Lucy shivered in disgust and fear as she struggled to escape the chains.
"Lucy can't you summon anyone?!" Mira whispered, her eyes dark with anger as she continued to glare at Ren.
"I'm out of magic and even if I did have enough these chains are preventing me from using it!" Lucy whispered back.
"It's been fun toying with you two but now it's time for you to die," Ren grinned, a katana shaped sword of ice appearing in his hands.
Lucy's eyes widened as he raised the sword above his head.
"GRAY NOOO!!" Lucy screamed as he brought the sword down.
Ren froze, the sword stopping an inch away from Natsu's neck. It clattered to the ground and disappeared as Ren stumbled backwards, holding his head in pain. The tips of his hair were turning black, and it filled Lucy with hope. Ren cursed and turned to Lucy, who was staring at him with narrowed eyes.
"If you want to die so badly so be it," he growled at her.
"Ice Wolf's-" he began, a magic circle appearing in front of him.
"Sky Dragon's-""Howl!""Roar!"
A twister of wind crashed into Ren's attack, cutting it off from hitting Lucy. Ren, Lucy, and Mira turned to see Wendy being held in the sky by Carla.
"Don't overdo it child you've used up enough magic already," Carla chided as Wendy glared at Ren.
"Don't worry I still have my second origin Carla!" Wendy told her.
Ren growled as he stood up straight, dropping the hand that was clutching his head.
"I'm sick and tired of you puny slayers! Now you all will die!" He shouted, magic surrounding him in a dark purple cloud.
When the cloud disappeared, there stood a midnight-black wolf with three, blue-tipped tails and blue tipped ears. It's lips were drawn back in a snarl as it stared at Wendy. It was twice her hight on all fours. It crouched down towards the ground, ready to pounch.
