Chapter 25
Alone
Absol rushed though the wet forest as the rain poured down heavier and heavier this made traversing even harder for him, swiftly dodging branches and rocks was becoming a challenge as he had to make sure Zayne wouldn't fall, he was tiring but his feelings to this human was enough to fuel him to keep going eventually the forest began to thin and a road was now in sight so he bounded down the hill to the trail. He encountered the gates to Straton Town, he was soaking, cold and exhausted but he continued on though the town until he saw the large building of the hospital he trudged towards the door and pushed it open and collapsed as soon as he was in.
People where gasping and panicking as they all saw an Absol with a person on its back they came with a stretcher and lifted Zayne on and he was rushed away leaving Absol alone. Nurses came and lead Absol to a waiting room where he was given some water and Pokefood. Hours passed and no one came he was sitting in the room with many others all who seemed worried or ill them self Absol grew tired so he got up and left the room and went outside, it had stopped raining and there was now a beautiful rainbow glistening over the sunset, Absol hadn't seen many of these as he was captured from when he was young Pokemon, he had been kept in the possession of team Dawn for many years he had never been shown kindness or friendship, he had only been a tool for them to do all there labour, or wrong deeds but Absol knew it was wrong so he disobeyed and retaliated but this only brought punishment and eventually imprisonment which he had spent the last year, but then it all changed when Zayne came, at first he didn't know how to act to a human anymore he lost faith in them all, but this person seemed different he was like Absol, alone in a cell, after the few days together they grew a bond of kinship even though no words were spoken and when they escaped they escaped Absol knew he needed Zayne.
Absol made his way to the edge of the city to the gates and looked back to the forests he traversed though with Zayne on his back, Absol had never felt such fear when he saw Zayne on the floor, he had never ran so far nor as fast in his life, he couldn't let his friend die.
He turned to return to the hospital, and thought to how sad his life was before, alone, dark, cold and empty he never wanted to return to that, Absol made a promise to protect Zayne, Absol never wanted to return to before and he never wanted he friend to experience it.
"Wahhhh! Wahhh!" A small child was crying and wandering the street alone. Absol walked up to her, she stopped crying but began to cry and ran and hid behind a bench, Absol walked up to her again and this time nuzzled her face to comfort her. The little girl was sitting on his back as he walked down the street she was stroking and cuddling him until she told him to stop and pointed to a house. "Oh! That one!" He walked up to the door and she knocked it opened to show a man who seemed to have been crying. "Daddy!" The little girl cried and jumped up to him.
"Oh my goodness! Hunny! She's home! Out little girl is home!" The mother came and they all embraced, Absol took this moment to walk off into the shadows of the night. Absol was back at the hospital and found Cryssie and Aqua at the desk, he walked up to them and they greeted and made there way to see Zayne.
"So doctor how bad is it?" Cryssie asked.
"He is in a stable condition but we are unsure to when or if he'll wake up" He bowed and left the room.
"We need to tell his mother...but we don't have her number" Cryssie sighed. Absol just rubbed her arm and they waited all though the night. As dawns light embraced the room not a sound was made just the medical equipment beeping. Absol didn't know what to do, except be at his side.
