DISCLAIMER: I DON'T OWN GRAVITY FALLS
It was late in the afternoon when Tracy finally woke up. "Ugh my head," Tracy groaned. "Sweetie can you get me some coffee," she requested.
"Sure mom," Tyrone said obediently as he exited the room. Even though there was a complimentary coffee machine in the room with different blends of coffee provided for free; Tracy insist on buying coffee from coffee shops or if there's none around, donut shops. This of course means that she doesn't drink convenience store coffee either. Unfortunately for poor Tyrone, the nearest coffee shop was about a block away, and would take him about 15-20 minutes to walk there. Still watching her nephew from her hiding place, Mabel saw him leaving the room and quickly but not so stealthfully started to follow him. She was so focused on watching her nephew that missed seeing Gideon arriving at the motel and knocking on Tracy's door.
"One order of coffee please," Tyrone ordered at the coffee shop.
"Say aren't you a little young to be drinking coffee?" the cashier asked.
"It's for my mom," Tyrone responded.
"Alright then, what kind do you want?" the cashier asked.
"Uh...decaf please," Tyrone finally said not realizing that decaf is not a flavor of coffee. He didn't really know which kind of coffee his mom drinks, but in every TV show he's seen, the characters always ordered decaf.
"Sure thing," the cashier smiled handing him his receipt. The cashier decided to cut him a break and charged him for a regular coffee.
As Tyrone waited for his order, two pairs of eyes were watching him. "Hey Ty-dye, fancy meeting you here." Jane greeted with her usual perky attitude.
"So I see you're still in town," Amelia said with a rather cold tone.
"Jane, Amelia, what are you two doing here? Buying some coffee as well?" Tyrone asked.
"As if, I just came here to try their new Ice Burg milkshake promotion." Amelia said taking a sip of her beverage. "It's not as good as commercial said," Amelia sulked with disappointment.
"Me, I just came for some muffins." Jane showed him her bag with four muffins. "This shop has one of the best muffins in town. Here try some." Jane offered Tyrone one of her muffins. Tyrone reluctantly accepted the muffin and took a bite.
"Wow this is pretty good," Tyrone said.
"I know right," Jane smiled taking another bite out of another muffin. "So is it true that you are leaving?" Jane said sadly.
"Oh yeah me and my mom will be starting our new lives soon," Tyrone answered her with great anticipation.
"I don't suppose there's a way I can convince you to stay? Not only will I talk to the coach about let you join the team, I'll buy all the muffins you want." Jane bribed.
"Yeah, no. I'm afraid that me and my mom will be leaving in a few days after we settle all the legal stuff." Tyrone said trying to resist the pull of the muffin.
"That reminds me, your birthday is coming soon right?" Amelia asked.
"Uh yeah," Tyrone confirmed.
"Well, your father is throwing a farewell/birthday party for you at the mansion. Will your mother be attending?" Amelia asked.
"He never told me anything about that," Tyrone accused.
"Oh I guess he wanted it to be a surprise. My bad." Amelia coughed.
"I'm surprise he remembered," Tyrone said critically. "But I don't know if my mom will allow me to go." Truthfully Tyrone didn't want to go a party organized by his dad, so he's using his mom as an excuse.
"That's too bad. Mother was really hoping to see you one last time before you left." Amelia grinned mischievously knowing about Tyrone's disturbing crush on Pacifica. "In fact she's hiring some of the best caterers in town for this event. She wants this to be as big as the Northwest annual gala."
"Really, well I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask." Tyrone blushed at the thought that Pacifica is going through all that trouble for him.
"Order 71," the cashier announced.
"Oh that's me," Tyrone checking his receipt. "I'll call you later." he promised, picking up his coffee and heading back to the motel.
"Hey how come you never told me about this party?" Jane asked Amelia.
"Because there is no party," Amelia confessed.
"Say wha...?" Jane gasped.
"Look with all this custody battle nonsense, the fact that the deadline is also his birthday kind of slipped from everyone's mind." Amelia sighed sadly. "That means this party is our last chance to convince him to stay here."
"Awwww you like him," Jane teased.
"No I do not!" Amelia insisted. "It's just that I get a little angsty without my nightly foot rub." Amelia murmured.
"Foot rub? Did I hear you right?" Jane cringed.
"Believe me the boy's fingers are like magic. If you just let him poke at your feet, you'd never want to let him go either." Amelia said.
"I always thought you rich people have weird habits, but hey whatever helps you sleep at night. Who am I to judge." Jane shrugged. "If it helps keep Tyrone away from that woman, I'm in."
"Great, I need you to make up a guest list. Now I just need to convince my mom and plan a last minute birthday party." Amelia sighed as she gestured Jane to cover their ears.
"Did someone say plan a birthday party!" Mabel shouted out.
"Hi Ms. Mabel," the two girls greeted rather dryly. Normally they would have been more shocked by her sudden appearance, but they easily spotted her trying to pose as an inconspicuous customer, by wearing a black raincoat sunglasses. While Mabel isn't their first choice (she's not even in their top ten) but as they say' beggars cannot be choosy'.
Tyrone ran as fast as he could back to the motel. "Mom, I got you your coffee!" Tyrone announced upon entering the room.
"Thank you sweetie," Tracy said as she grabbed the drink from Tyrone's hands. As she drank her coffee, which by the way she couldn't tell was a cheap brand, she couldn't help but noticed that Tyrone was excited about something. "You look like your in a good mood," Tracy commented.
"Yes well I ran into Amelia at the coffee shop, she says that her family is planning to throw me a birthday party. Can we go?" Tyrone asked.
"What? No! We are not going to that party!" Tracy objected. Already suspecting that this must be a trap to seduce Tyrone into staying in with Dipper; and if that happens she can kiss her fortune goodbye.
"Oh don't be such a sour puss and let the kid have some fun." Gideon suggested suddenly coming out of the bathroom. "Hello there sport, I hope you had a good night sleep." Gideon greeted.
"Mr. Gideon, what are you doing here?" Tyrone asked.
"Oh I was here to discuss some grown-up things," Gideon giggled ominously.
"Such as?" Tyrone asked suspiciously. Since whenever someone says 'grown-up' things, it usually means bad news for the kids.
"Nothing to worry your pretty little head about that," Gideon laughed as he rubbed Tyrone's head. "By the way weren't we talking about your birthday party?" Gideon changing the subject. "I think this will be an excellent opportunity for the boy to get his goodbyes out of the way, as well give him some closure in all this nasty custody battle business."
"But what if...?" Tracy stuttered.
"Besides Northwests always throws the fanciest shindig this side of the Mississippi. Full of the finest eats you ever did see," Gideon said. Playing on her weakness for high society pleasures. Already he could see that Tracy is starting to waver. "Plus I think we can work this to our advantage, wink, wink." Gideon winked.
"Please mom," Tyrone begged.
Tracy stared at Gideon suspiciously. She already knows he's up to something, probably illegal, but so long as she doesn't know what it is then she has plausible deniability. "Alright fine, but if something goes wrong, I'm holding you personally responsible." Tracy threatened pointing to Gideon.
"Of course, of course," Gideon brushed off. "But just remember to do your part when the time comes," Gideon said ominously as he slowly backed away and exiting out of the door.
"What did he mean by that?" Tyrone wondered.
"Who cares so long as I can leave this backwater town," Tracy commented.
The next few days passed rather peacefully for Tyrone. With everyone else busy preparing for the party, practically no one bothered him with their usual shenanigans. Mabel took over the Northwest mansion staff, much to Pacifica's and Dipper's objections, to prepare what she called the most important party of her life. Unfortunately for Pacifica, there's no reasoning with her especially when she puts on her 'Boss Mabel' hat on. Yes, Mabel made her own fez with a shooting star design, which she only wears for times when she wants be extremely bossy. Amelia and Jane tried to find some students to come to the party. While there were no shortage of people who would do anything to go to a Northwest party, there weren't too many people who would come for Tyrone's sake. As it turns out, Tyrone was such a wallflower that most didn't even know his name. Most thought of him as Amelia's lapdog, or Jane's sidekick. So they simply invited those who actually knew Tyrone's name. Even Ramirez was busy due to him taking a part time job as Mabel's assistant for the party, even though she was only paying him with Gummi Koalas.
Even though Tyrone enjoyed the peace and quiet, he did find himself getting lonely without the company and mayhem that the others provided. Even his mom isn't exactly spending quality time with him either. If she wasn't meeting with Gideon; she was out partying out at some club. Sometimes she would leave her phone there so that Tyrone can't call her and interrupt her 'important business' as she likes to call it. Soon bored of being alone, he found himself staring out the window to the forest outside and can't help but think about the monsters he encountered out there. Wondering how his fiances Granita, Giffany, Ughfina, and others were doing; and if they found someone else to love and marry. For some reason, the thought of them leaving him for someone else bothers him even though he never had any intention of marrying any of them himself. Shaking such thoughts from his mind, he decided to occupy himself with more video games on his phone, even though he's played them like a million times. Tracy told him not to download any more games or apps for his phone until he moves in with her and his new stepfather so that they can get him a new phone with their family plan. Truthfully she didn't want to spend the money on him than she had to.
As he played his game, he heard Tracy's phone ringing. Checking the caller ID, he saw that it was his new stepdad. Tyrone was tempted to answer it, just so that he could talk to him, but Tracy told him never to touch her phone so he didn't. After the phone stopped ringing, it beeped indicating that it received a message. Again looking at the phone he could see that it was from his stepfather again. This time curiosity won over his devotion to his mother so he opened the message. The first part read: I've set up the spare bedroom just like you asked. Tyrone smiled feeling very welcomed at his soon to be new home. Continuing on the rest of the message read: Please tell your sister that we are ready to look after her kid for the next few days. "Sister's kid, I didn't know I had a cousin?" Tyrone reread that part feeling all confused. "I thought that the room was for me? I guess I'm going to be having a roommate for a few days," Tyrone said to himself trying to justify the message.
Again it was late at night when Tracy returned. She then took a quick shower and got ready for bed. "Mom, you never told me I had a cousin." Tyrone said.
"Cousin? What are you talking about?" Tracy wondered.
"You got a message saying that my cousin is going to spend the next few days with us," Tyrone informed her.
"You looked at my phone! I thought I told you never to touch my things" Tracy scolded.
"I'm sorry mom, it's just that it kept ringing and then the message popped up. Did I do something wrong?" Tyrone cried. No really understanding why she was so upset with him.
Tracy was about to reiterate how she doesn't want him to touch her stuff, mainly because she does not want him finding out about certain things like this, but realized that if she comes off as too harsh, then Tyrone might be compelled go back to Dipper. "Look Tyrone, I'm not mad, but you should know better than to touch other people's things," Tracy said as gently as she could.
"I'm sorry mom. I promise I will never do that again." Tyrone swore.
"Good, then let's go to bed. Tomorrow is your big day after all." Tracy smiled. She only needed to hold out for one more day and can finally put an end to his charade.
"Okay mom, but who's my cousin? If I'm going to share a room with him, I'd like to know his name at least." Tyrone asked.
"Oh that," Tracy gulped. Not wanting to tell her husband that her son was coming to live with them until she ships Tyrone off to boarding school. So instead she told her husband that Tyrone is her sister's son who asked if he could spend the next few days with them. Naturally Tracy can't tell Tyrone this, and needed to come up a new excuse. "Your cousin Terry isn't coming. Yeah, the poor boy came down with something and has to stay home." Tracy quickly making up the name and excuse.
"Oh that's too bad," Tyrone said. "How come I never heard of Terry?"
"Uh, because my sister lives in Europe. Yes, she joined the Navy and got stationed in Austria." Tracy lied.
"Okay," Tyrone said feeling a bit confused. Since he's pretty sure that Austria is a landlocked country with no Naval bases. He learned all about Austria from one of Mabel's best friends who claims that her boyfriend is from there and that she visits him couple times a year. Still if his mom says it, then it has to be true. As Mabel once told him: 'Even if you suspect that they are lying, you must always trust family. Just like how me and Dipper blindly trusted Grunkle Stan about the portal after learning that it could destroy the world and as you can see the world is still here'. Taking that lesson to heart, Tyrone vowed to trust him mom even though every fiber of his being told him not to.
As Tyrone slept, eager for the start of his new life. Another was up late, eager for the revenge he's waited for whole life. Gideon sat at his table, carefully mixing various chemicals together. Checking his book to make sure he's getting the proper reactions. Once it was completed, he stared at it with great satisfaction. "Hey Gideon, are you up?" a gruff male voice asked barging into the room. Almost causing Gideon to spill the chemicals he was mixing.
"Dang it Ghost-Eyes, you almost made me drop it!" Gideon scolded.
"Sorry man," Ghost-Eyes apologized.
"Never mind," Gideon rubbing his eyes. He is feeling a bit tired and he knew he should be too rough on his most dependable and most loyal lackey. Especially since he always pays for his half of the rent on time. "Did you do it?" Gideon asked.
"Yup, I put all that stuff right where you told me to." Ghost Eyes reported.
"Perfect! By this time tomorrow, Dipper Pines will lose everything he loves." Gideon laughed manically. Not really understanding what's going on, Ghost-Eyes joined in the laughing simply because it looked like fun.
