Hey guys! I'm alive! Sorry it took me this long to get this out. I've had an 18 day vacation last month. Went to visit my parents and friends again. Didn't get arrested this time! I even encountered some crazy Ethiopian voodoo magic or whatever. Some Ethiopian teen was shitfaced drunk and he was bothering us on my last day there and he was just being a bother. So I gave him some small change, enough for a beer bottle. So he hugged me and promised me that I would be lucky. Lo and behold, the next day when I was boarding on my plane, there was a problem with my seat! Thankfully, it was resolved in about 5 minutes... but in the end, I got upgraded to business class! Hah! Now is it weird voodoo magic or just plain regular luck?
Either way, I've honestly tried writing during the vacation. I've had a whole plan set up for this... but that utterly failed. Between my family and friends pretty much taking up all my time I only managed to write like a page and a half... yeah, that sucked. Anyway, I'm back and finally settled back into my normal schedule with work and everything and I finally got this done.
So without any further delays, enjoy!
Waking up was a slow process.
I slowly registered everything around me. I was lying on something hard and prickly and After moving my arms around I realized that it was grass. I also felt quite warm and I had a hard time opening my eyes because of the sunlight that was hitting me. Judging by everything else that I felt, I was also naked.
What the fuck? There wasn't a sun anywhere near the Citadel… and were those birds chirping?
I immediately shot up, groaning and wincing at the how painful the sunlight was on my eyes. My head was spinning and I felt like throwing up. Despite that, I managed to get a good look around.
I was in a forest clearing.
That made me fairly sure that I was obviously not on the Citadel anymore.
I kept looking around as my eyes slowly adjusted to the sunlight, trying to hold the contents of my stomach inside while my spinning head was making me quite nauseous.
What the fuck did Ella do? She obviously drugged me and it was quite strong stuff too considering how I was feeling. But where the fuck did she take me? This was obviously a different planet. While at it, how the fuck did she even get me here? Did no one pay any attention to an Asari dragging an unconscious man through the Citadel streets? Really, just what the fuck was going on?
I didn't recognize any of the trees around me. Grass looked normal enough though. Only a single sun, thankfully enough. It was yellow dwarf by the looks of it too. It looked like it was a garden planet though I couldn't really be sure. There were enough such planets around the Citadel but most of them were already populated. Nor did I know exactly for how long I was out, so technically speaking, I could be anywhere right now.
Once the vertigo lessened I decided to risk it and rise up to my feet. My head was spinning less now but I was definitely starting to get a migraine. The cool breeze I was feeling made me also very aware that I was still completely naked. I didn't even have my omni-tool on me.
I looked around in utter confusion. I didn't know what I was supposed to do. Really, what was I supposed to do in such a situation? I had no idea where I was or where I was supposed to go.
"Ella?" I called out into the forest around me after the equivalent of a mental shrug. If she was trying to kill me, it definitely was a very convoluted way to go around doing it. She slept near me for crying out loud. She could easily stab me in my sleep, or snap my neck. Or just shoot me.
Dumping me on some random planet without supplies to slowly die seemed like a really stupid method of killing.
Either way, I received no reply. Not that surprising. If she wanted a nature picnic she'd probably ask me, instead of drugging me like that.
I glanced up at the sun, noting its position. I wasn't really an expert on such matters but the sun was in its zenith, which meant it was around midday. That didn't really help me much since I had no idea how many hours of daylight I even had to begin with. Fucking space age and all the planets that were spinning faster or slower. The galaxy just had to be annoyingly complex like that.
With nothing better left to do I looked around to pick a path. It might be a dumb decision but for all I knew, civilization might be somewhere close. At least I hoped it would be. I had nothing to work with here. The other side of the clearing looked good enough. The vegetation was less dense, which would make passing through easier. I was fucking naked. I wasn't really up to walking through thorny bushes with my junk hanging out in the open. No fucking way.
And so I walked, wincing and flinching every time my bare feet stepped on small rocks or anything solid like that. It was an uncomfortable walk but I gradually got used to it enough to at least walk at a normal pace. Not that it mattered, really, since once I walked out of the clearing and into the forest my pace slowed down to a crawl since I made it a point to avoid bushes or any other vegetation that was on ground level.
I barely made it out of the clearing when I spotted the first signs of life. Or close to it at least. About ten meters ahead of me something was hanging from a low tree branch. From that distance it looked like a… knife? I cautiously looked around, trying to see if anyone was around.
It was suspicious as hell, since the knife was obviously left here for me to find, since there was no one else around. I saw no one around, though that didn't mean that there really was no one around. "Ella?" I called out again.
She didn't reply, not that I was expecting her to at this point. I slowly approached the object and upon getting closer I saw that my guess was right. It was a knife sheath, though with its size it'd be more correct to call it a dagger. It was hanging by a strap from a low branch just slightly above my head.
With another careful look around I pulled it off the branch and drew the knife out. It was a combat knife and if the shape was any indication it was of Asari make. The somewhat elegant light curve that made the dagger good for both cutting and stabbing and a frankly unnecessary pattern engraved on the side of the blade. Definitely of Asari design. Turians tended to have serrated blades, since it was designed to tear off and saw into their plates and all that pretty brutal stuff. It was too small for a Krogan knife… although it could serve as a pocket knife for them. Still, the engraving on the blade, some kind of spiraling pattern that looked pretty cool, definitely reminded me of the Asari aesthetics, so I was going to assume my guess was correct.
Either way, I had a weapon now, which made me feel genuinely better about this situation. I looked at the strap on the sheath and figured it was going to fit me. I fastened it around my right hip and checked to see how it held. It was actually pretty uncomfortable on my bare skin like that but at least I didn't risk losing the thing. I carefully sheathed the knife and cringed at the potential self-stabbing that might occur if I accidently miss the sheath.
I looked around again, hoping to see anything else that might help me. If I needed a hint to tell me that I was going the right way, I'd say the knife was definitely one.
I started walking in my original direction when something caused me to stop. It was a noise. It sounded like the rustle of bushes or something like that. It came from directly behind me. I froze in place, muscle tensed and ready to move. I listened intently for any other noise but I could hear nothing other than the leaves above me, gently swaying in the wind. I noted that I could no longer hear the bird-like calls that came from the forest before. Other than the swaying leaves, it was deathly quiet.
Slowly, I reached for the knife, moving my hand closer and closer. Just before My hand touched the grip of the knife the bushes behind me rustled violently as something rushed out at me, tearing through the foliage on the ground.
I grabbed the knife and drew it out with one motion as I spun around, slashing at whatever was behind me.
I completely missed, knife uselessly slicing through the air. I barely managed to glimpse the blue thing that was attacking me before something blue and long slammed into my face.
My vision flashed white and I cried out in pain and surprise. Mostly pain. The hit lifted me off my feet and a moment later my back slammed against the ground, broken branches and small stones digging in painfully into the flesh. Despite that I kept the knife in my hands and I somehow managed to retain some control and rolled with the momentum to roll myself back on my feet.
I stopped in a low crouch, holding the knife in front of me and pointedly ignoring the painful throbbing in the right side of my face. I blinked in confusion when I saw my attacker. It was Ella.
She was naked too.
Which really made me wonder how the fuck I didn't spot her before now. She was freaking blue. But then, a large portion of her body was covered by mud and other dirt which probably helped conceal her. Some of it even had some foliage stuck to it. Either way it didn't help hide her lack of clothing, nor did it cover anything important.
I then noticed what she carried. An actual quiver of arrows on her back, about a dozen of them sticking out over her shoulder and what looked like a wooden bow slung over her shoulder. It looked borderline makeshift and I wouldn't be surprised if it was. What surprised me the most however was the expression on her face.
She looked outright bored.
"Ella, what is going on?" I carefully asked her, still not moving from my defensive crouch. "And why are we both naked?" I added, eyes travelling over her body. "Please tell me it's some sort of kink you have…"
I couldn't be blamed in this situation, dammit. Ella had a killer body and I couldn't help but look when it was on full display like that.
"Your awareness of your surroundings is lacking," she commented, completely ignoring my words and still not moving from her spot. In fact, she looked pretty relaxed, despite the fact that she just nailed me with a flying kick to the face of all things.
"No, no," I interrupted her. "Back to my question, what the fuck is going on?" I asked, just a bit more forcefully this time.
She stared at me impassively for a long moment. "I'm giving you what you asked for."
I rolled my eyes at her word. Did she have to be intentionally cryptic like that? "I'm pretty sure I didn't ask to be kidnapped and dumped naked on some random planet."
"You asked for training. I am giving you exactly that," she stated, giving me stern look through narrowed eyes. I'm taken by surprise at how different she is at this moment. The Ella I met on the Citadel was carefree and pretty fun loving. This Ella was just… colder.
I didn't say anything to that, but my questioning look was enough for her to elaborate. "I will teach you the same way I have been taught. But we do not have decades to do it so a… crash course will have to do," she frowned slightly at those words and I felt safe to assume she would rather train me for decades instead of whatever this was.
"And what does this crash course involve?" I felt I had to ask.
"You will have to survive for a week. If you fail, you will have to start anew every time. You have two months to do this."
"And does everyone else know of this?" I asked cautiously. I've had to wonder if she actually kidnap me.
"I've told them we had a mission that might take a while. They don't know where we are."
Fucking perfect. So no one knew where I was and they weren't expecting me back any time soon. I knew I was making it a habit to go on various assignments with Ella and now it was coming back to bite me in the ass. No one probably even suspected a thing.
Ella continued, interrupting my thoughts. "I will teach you the same way I was taught. You will have to adapt or be left behind to die. You will learn how to survive," the emphasis she put into that word was borderline vitriolic, "whether you want it or not."
"So… survival training," I surmised. "And what will you be doing?"
"I will be hunting you," she stated as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. I froze at those words at stared at her with wide eyes. "Once you can survive a weak being hunted by me, I will consider your training over."
This was bad. Really bad. I knew what Ella could do and comparing myself to her was just… insane. I had no chance. She would slaughter me. How the fuck was I supposed to survive? I had no idea where to go. My entire experience in surviving in the wild could be summed up in me watching random shows on TV.
"We will begin immediately. I will give you two minutes of head start. Start concentrating on survival instead of your questions. You will need it," she said, her tone still outright bored. She casually tossed the bow off her shoulder, catching it easily in her hand. It was made of wood and if I had to guess, I'd say it was even handmade, probably by Ella herself.
"Wait, you –" I started but within an instant she pulled out an arrow and fired it at my feet. I barely had the time to take a hasty step back before the arrow was buried just a couple of centimeters in front of the foot I just moved.
I stared at the wooden shaft and it took me a moment to register that if I hadn't moved back, this would've probably pierced my foot. I looked up and met Ella's eyes. She stood there impassively, another arrow already casually held between her fingers. She met my eyes with an uncaring look. For a moment I considered that she just might shoot me again and this time she won't miss.
"You have wasted eight seconds," was her simple statement. "You should start moving."
I turned around and ran as fast as I could.
"Fuck! Shit! Goddammit!" I hissed under my breath as I sprinted away from her as fast as I could. The fact that I simply did not have time to pick my route wasn't helping matter at all and only caused me to curse even more. I ran through a bush that was particularly unpleasant, scratching my legs and my stomach as I crushed my through it.
There was no time to move around them. I had to put as much distance between us as I could. By the nine fucking hells, they told me I shouldn't stick it into crazy, but did I listen? Fuck no. And what did this get me? I'm now stuck on some jungle planet and being hunted.
I had no idea where I was running. I knew jack shit about this planet and so the only thing I could do is keep running in a random direction. All around me I could see trees and that's it. What the fuck was I supposed to do? Ella was definitely more experienced in this than I was. She basically told me she was trained in a similar way. Hiding would be useless. She will find me. I have no doubt in my mind that she's able to track me with ease.
The two minutes she gave me have already passed, I was sure of it. I've been running for a short while already, longer than two minutes. That knowledge only made me run faster. I didn't dare slowing down. I had no idea what she'd do to me if she caught up.
My ears caught a noise and I reacted without thinking. I've heard this noise plenty of times already since I've started going on missions with Ella. It was the sound of an arrow cutting its way through air.
I threw myself to the side and tumbled down to the ground, wincing as all the twigs and other small objects dug into my skin as I tried to roll with the momentum of my fall. A loud wooden 'thunk' caused me to stop and look at the source of the noise and see the arrow imbedded into the tree just head of me.
She shot me. She just fucking shot at me. If I hadn't moved she would've shot me in the back!
Worst of all, if she shot me, that meant she saw me. She was close. Too close.
I scampered back to my feet and started running around. I took the opportunity to glance back to see if she was anywhere close. Despite the fact that her skin was blue, which should've made her easy to see in this green setting, I couldn't see her anywhere behind me. This made the whole situation so much fucking worse.
Time to change tactics. So far I've ran in a relatively straight line to put as much distance between us. That didn't work so well, unfortunately. With an internal grimace I picked a direction with the thickest foliage. I was not going to enjoy this at all.
I crashed into the thick bushes with a jump. I earned myself more scratched but that was something I could deal with. They stung like hell but they didn't slow me down. The whole process of running through the foliage slowed me down a bit but I was relying on it to slow Ella down as well. She'll either have to move around, which would buy me some time or she will follow me and I really doubt she'd be able to go through this mess without causing a racket that I'll hear.
I heard another whistle and quickly dropped down to the ground and into a bush, yelping in surprise when one of the twigs nearly gouged my eye out but thankfully missed and earned me a new scratch on my face.
The arrow embedded itself into something solid – probably a tree – a ways ahead of me and I quickly got back up without even trying to look back in an attempt to see Ella. I resumed my dead sprint through the foliage, letting out a frustrated growl in an attempt to ignore the pain it caused me and frantically pushing away large leaves of the bush I was passing through out of my way.
I managed to make a few steps before the ground suddenly disappeared under me and I found myself falling with a surprised yelp.
Fortunately it wasn't a long fall. I landed on the hard ground not a second later and tumbled down through the dirt until I painfully skidded to a stop on some wet rocks. I sat up with a hiss of pain, ignoring the pain in my back where I scraped it against the stones on the ground. I looked around to see where I fell into. It looked like I fell into a small ravine. There was even a small, shallow stream flowing through it. Then my eyes landed on a creature that was staring back at me.
It wasn't anything that I recognized. It was smaller than a Varren, which I considered to be a very good thing because those things could get big and vicious. It was about the size of a dog though and even shared some similarities. There was a brown mane running down its back but that was the only area that had fur. The rest of its body was covered in brownish-yellow scales. It had four thin but muscled limbs that ended with short and somewhat blunt claws. I concentrated on the head though. The head had a long scaled snout, with a maw filled with short but sharp looking teeth. I didn't see any ears on the thing but what I did see was a pair of yellow eyes staring at me with frightening intensity.
If anything, it reminded me of a weird combination of a dog and a lizard. It just stood there, hunched low, just above the small stream of water. It must've been here drinking there when I dropped down on it out of nowhere.
We were both motionless, just staring at each other. Then the thing let out a low hissing growl at me and I figured it wasn't going to just stare at me for much longer. I still didn't move. I wasn't an expert on animals but I was pretty sure it didn't attack me because I hadn't done anything yet. Sudden movements could cause animals to attack; at least that's what everyone said.
No sudden movements then, right? I couldn't afford to be unarmed. I only needed to grab my knife and my chances would be better. I needed to do something fast, because the growl that the creature was letting out had only grown louder. I slowly started moving my hand down to my leg where my knife was sheathed. I moved slowly, inch by inch and I could see the creature look at my hand, the only part of me that made any motion. Unfortunately when I was halfway to the knife the creature moved. It lunged forward with a hissing cry, moving much faster than I anticipated as it rushed me into a pounce, its maw wide open and exposing the sharp teeth inside, aimed straight at me face.
It was less of a conscious decision but more of a reflexive and panicked reaction but I did the only thing I could think of. I raised my left arm up in defense right into the creature's path and the jaws immediately clamped down on the forearm. I cried out in pain when I felt the sharp teeth easily pierce the skin and dig into the flesh. Then the rest of the creature's weight collided with me and sent me onto my back with the creature right on top of me.
At the point the thing started thrashing about and raking his paw across my chest and stomach, making me scream even more. The claws were blunt and didn't do anything worse than scratch me but it was painful. Worse were the jaws. It felt like my arm was being torn to shreds, and it kind of was.
My right hand grasped the knife grip and pulled it out. I grabbed it in a backhand grip and with a roar of pain and anger I plunged the knife into the beast's eye all the way to the grip. It didn't die, instead starting to thrash around even more. I pulled the knife out and dark blood poured out of the beast's ruined eye socket. I stabbed again with another frantic yell and then stabbed it again. I stabbed it in the head until the weight on top of me stopped moving.
I lied there on the ground, panting and stared at the destroyed face of the creature on top of me. With a pained groan I started prying the creature's mouth open and after a moment I succeeded, causing another wave of pain, but most importantly relief to travel down my arm.
Looking at it now it didn't look that bad. It certainly felt a lot worse than what it looked like. It looked like I managed to kill it before it did any serious damage, like tearing my arm apart. Instead I had about two dozen or so bleeding holes in my forearm. My arm was trembling and I quietly watched the blood flow down my arm.
No medigel. No bandages either.
"Fuck!" I spat out and angrily kicked the corpse off of me. I didn't even know what the fuck was the thing that bit me. Knowing my like, it had a poisonous bite or disease ridden saliva and my arm will be fucked either way. I looked down at my chest and winced at the angry red lines that marked it. Most of them were shallow cuts but a few of them were bleeding quite a bit.
A thud next to me caused me to jump in surprise. I quickly turned in place, raising my knife once again but just like last time I barely managed to glimpse a bare blue leg slam into my face.
I woke with a gasp which was quickly followed by a pained groan. My head hurt. I quickly looked around and saw Ella sitting by my side and… chewing something? "Did you have to kick me in the face? Really, did you?" I groaned out as I attempted to get up to a seated position.
Ella pushed me back down, keeping me on the ground, but she at least looked at me. Boy, wasn't that a disappointed look. She moved her hand to her mouth and spat out a globule of… green stuff. It looked like chewed plants, which is probably exactly what it was. She then unceremoniously smeared it on the cuts on my chest and midriff. To my surprise, the cuts actually stopped stinging after the substance touched them. "You lasted less than ten minutes," she said. Her tone was calm and surprisingly not at all judgmental.
Wow, what a way to make me feel bad. "That's a bit unfair, I nearly got mauled by whatever that thing was," I defended myself. "You literally dumped me here and told me to run without explaining anything. I don't know this place, my objective is vague and frankly speaking, you're a lot faster and plain better than I am at this," I said as I inspected my injuries. Most of the cuts on my chest had the green stuff smeared on it and were no longer bleeding like before.
"I explained enough," was her short reply. I huffed in annoyance. Did she absolutely have to be giving me the least amount of answers?
A quick look at my arm confirmed that Ella treated my bite wound as well. A thick bandage was wrapped around the wounds on my forearm and it was also obvious that she used the same green stuff on the wounds there as well, judging by the green smudges that were visibly from under the bandage, along with a few blood stains here and there. "And for fuck's sake, why don't you have medigel?" I asked incredulously.
"Medigel is a crutch. Everyone's too used to a substance that just fixes everything," she actually sounded annoyed about it. "It makes you careless."
"Oh, so what would you suggest? Herbal medicine?" I asked mockingly, gesturing at my chest.
She replied by giving me a very unimpressed look. "Don't get injured," the answer was so simple it was practically dumb. "Then you won't need any medicine."
"Sometimes you don't have a choice," I countered, very unimpressed with her logic.
"That's no excuse," she shot back at me. "This injury –" she poked my injured arm, eliciting a wince from me, "— could be easily avoided if you actually looked where you were going. Or had your weapon drawn when you fell down."
While there was logic in her words I still thought it was a flawed logic. "That was because of my own mistake, yes, but that's not always the case, is it? If you tried injuring me now, you'd do it easily and there's nothing I could do."
She poked my wound again instead of replying. "This will scar," she pointed out and then stood up. She spread her arms wide, putting her body on full display. "How many scars do you see on me?"
Well, she certainly knows how to make her point. As I studied her body I could sort of see her point. The amount of scars on her body was minimal. Even I had more scars than her, at least from what I could see from this quick inspection. There was a long scar on her left hip that must've been from a deep gash, another scar that looked like it came from a stab wound in her abdomen. The scar I've paid more attention to was a scar from a gunshot wound, right under her right collar bone. It was a scar I've seen practically on the first day I met her since she wasn't particularly ashamed to display it with the way she usually dressed.
Looking at it in this way, I had to admit that this was very impressive. She'd told me that she'd been in combat since her maiden days. She never told me her exact age but she was older than two centuries. Perhaps even three, considering some of the events I heard her talk about. That's a very long time to be in combat and the fact that she had so few scars on her body said a couple of things. Either she barely participated in fights, or she was just that good. I was leaning more towards the latter.
"I see your point," I finally conceded, even though I still had arguments. To begin with she had biotics, so she was a hundred times more mobile than I was. What was gunfire to you when you could move dozens of meters in the span of a split second with a biotic charge?
"Good. Now can you tell me why I caught you so fast?" she nodded and looked down at me with an expectant look.
What was this, quiz time? "I was noisy. I was running around like a lost animal. I also got attacked by an animal and I wasn't exactly quiet about it."
"At least you know your mistakes," she summarized with a little sigh.
"That doesn't really help. I don't know how to move quietly in a forest. I don't know how to navigate my way through a forest. You haven't told me shit," I spat out angrily with a glare.
She gave me an even a glare in return. "Every time I will catch you, we will review your mistakes. That's how it's going to be. We have no time to sit around and for me to explain everything. You will learn by doing. As I've said before, you will either adapt or die," she glanced down at my injured arm, "as almost happened already."
"I still need something to go on!" I argued.
"Do you expect to always have intel whenever something happens? Sometimes you'll be forced to adapt to unexpected situations. This is the same," she shot back with a glare. I didn't back down though and returned her glare with my own. We held each other's gazes for nearly a minute before she looked away with a sigh. "This is a level-3 threat rating planet. It is mostly covered by jungles, rivers and mountains. It's not colonized either. It's all Levo based so you can feel safe drinking and eating."
The only useful information I got out of this is that I could safely eat and the threat level. The threat levels were pretty straight forward. Level one was basically a garden world, ideal for colonization. Level two had a few hazards that made colonization somewhat uncomfortable, like extreme weather patterns or an odd orbit. Level three implied that the local wildlife was actively hostile to colonization efforts. Level four implied extreme conditions that made colonization very difficult with the best example I had being Noveria with its eternal winter. Level five basically meant that the planet was uninhabitable.
So she basically told me that everything else on the planet is going to try and kill me. That's just fucking perfect. "That's barely helpful," I remarked. I've been hoping she'd tell me about some landmark or something else I could use.
"Deal with it," she replied with a bored look. Well, at least she gave me some information to go on. I'll at least know that everything on this planet would try to kill me. That was helpful, no? "Now get up and run. You have two minutes to get as far away as you can."
I sighed in annoyance. "Give me a moment to rest, I wan—" I didn't manage to finish my sentence because she kicked me in the face. Again.
"Why? Why do you keep kicking me in the face?" I groaned in a combination of pain and anger.
"You're wasting your time," was the only thing she said.
So she wanted me to run? Well, I didn't feel like it. She wanted me to fight back, didn't she? I quickly got up to my feet and lunged forward, throwing a punch.
She clearly didn't expect it, if her wide-eyed look was anything to go by but sadly enough she recovered too quickly. My fist almost brushed her cheek instead of hitting her in the face when she tilted her head to the side. Then everything went wrong.
She grabbed my arm, pulled me in and before I could react I felt her fist hit me in the solar plexus, blasting the air out of my lungs and nearly causing me to drop right then and there. Ella wasn't built like a body builder but despite that misleading detail, she hit like a fucking truck as I've come to know. She then grabbed my head with both heads and slammed my head down straight into her rising knee.
My jaw felt like it was on fire and Ella finally let me go, allowing me to drop down to the ground on my knees, where I proceeded to hold my jaw in pain. "Why?" I moaned out. "Why do you keep kicking me in the face?" I tasted blood and felt it slosh in my mouth… along with something else. With a furrowed brow I spat out the object into my hand and stared at it. There, along with a good amount of blood and saliva was one of my teeth. "You fucking knocked out a tooth…" I wheezed out and spat out more blood. I felt around with my tongue and found what was missing. It was one of my molars.
Ella just quietly and impassively watched me as I spat blood to the ground. "You have wasted forty seconds."
I stopped moving and gave her a cautious look. When the time would run out, she'll attack. From her treatment of me so far I knew that she will not be gentle. Far from it. I didn't want to be here when the time ran out.
With a pained groan I rose to my feet and started running once more.
And there you have it. Oh boy, what a situation to end up in, huh? How will this end, I wonder? Well, I already know but you get the point!
Anyway, one chapter done with! Should everything go according to plan, I should have the next chapter done within three weeks or so. Sorry for these massive delays but I've finally gotten around to finally fully working on my own project. I'm in the zone, as they say, so I don't really want to get out of it. I've started working on it and I don't plan to stop! I hope that my pacing won't slow down anytime soon so if anything goes well, I should have a sample chapter ready for you by... next month? Something like that. It's just that it's going through a lot of revisions. As you know, the first chapter is the most important one, so it's gotta be as best as I can make it!
It really makes me feel weird to see so many people ask me not to abandon this story, even though I've told multiple times that it's not gonna happen. Seriously, I've spent years working on this. Despite the fact that I'm working on two things now, this story will NOT be abandoned, so calm down! Still, I got to say thank you! That you worry so much for this story makes me kind of happy! So once
So once again, thank you all for reading my story! And thanks to all the reviews. It bring me joy that you like the story enough to comment and ask questions. It's pretty awesome. So feel free to let me know what you think. I love constructive criticism or just even plain old comments. I always look for ways to improve my writing, so feel free to leave suggestions to! So thanks for the support and until next time, Delvaro out!
