Chapter 26: A Scared Viper?

"Hmm . . . if my calculations are correct, the Viper should be slithering to my doorstep in three . . . two . . . one," I mutter to myself as I hear the sounds of knocking coming from my door. I jump out my chair and walk to the door, opening it to reveal that the Viper was indeed the one at my doorstep, right on schedule. He still looked sleepy, and was still dressed in his gym sweats, but he looked at me with a smirk on his face, looking like he was indeed glad that I was letting him room with me during the time we are in this city. "Right on schedule Mr. Viper. Your timing is impeccable as always."

"Actually, you're right on the timing, as for staying on schedule, punctuality is still not my strong suit . . ." he tells me with a grin as he walks in to the suite, dragging his bags right behind him as he did. "Thanks again for letting me stay here Mara. I really appreciate it."

"No problem Ran . . . Besides, what are girlfriends for hmm?" I ask with a smirk as I lead him further into the room. "And if you answer that question with a sexist remark, I will smack you."

"I'm going to heed your warning. You've already kicked me in the balls today, I don't need a slap to the face to go along with it," he tells me with a shake of his head as he looks around the place. "So, where is my room exactly?"

"It's the second door on your left. My room's behind the first one," I tell him as I point to the two doors. "I'll leave you to get settled in. I'll be in my room watching random YouTube videos if you need me."

"Wait a minute Mara . . ." Randy quickly tells me as he grabs me by the arm. "I just wanted to ask you one quick question."

"If you're going to ask me if I've finally started remembering anything from the time I was kidnapped and held against my will for a few hours, my answer is going to be the same thing it has always been," I tell him with a shake of my head. "Sorry Randy. I don't remember anything yet."

"Oh . . . it was worth a shot," he tells me sheepishly as he lets me go. "And I'm sorry if I've been annoying you with the same question over and over again, night and day."

"No, its' okay . . . I understand your frustration. I'm pissed about it too, but it can't be helped," I say with a shake of my head. "Besides, the waiting game has never been your forte anyway."

"Huh? I can be patient!" Randy tells me in shock as I walk into my room. "Well . . . when I want to be."

"Uh huh, keep telling yourself that Mr.," I say with a smirk as I grab hold of my doorknob. "Just do what you have to do to get ready. You said you wanted to take me somewhere to eat today remember?"

"That I did, that I did," he tells me with a smirk as he presses a kiss to my forehead. "I need to put my things down and take a shower first, and then I'll take you out for dinner . . . and maybe a movie afterward."

"Oh . . . someone's feeling fancy today . . ." I say with a smirk as I pat him on his chest. "What's the occasion Mr. Viper?"

"I'll tell you, after I get ready . . ." he tells me with a smirk as he makes his way to his room. "I'll be back in a flash."

"Of course you will . . ." I say with a chuckle as I close the door. I already showered before Randy got here, so I quickly go to my luggage and change into something more fit for a dinner date before walking over to my bed, where my laptop was patiently awaiting me. I quickly turn it on and wait for it to load before clicking on my internet browser, ready to get my laugh on in the world of funny internet videos.

"HOLY SHIT!"

"Randy?" I call out in shock as his sudden shout breaks the silence. I make my way out of my room and over to his room, knocking on his door to get his attention. "Randy, are you okay in there?"

"NO! NO, I AM NOT OKAY!" he yells out to me as I hear his footsteps coming to the door "THERE IS AN EVIL LITTLE CREATURE IN THE SHOWER AND I'M NOT GOING ANYWHERE NEAR IT TILL IT'S GONE!"

"Okay, one: stop yelling so loudly that the whole floor can hear you," I tell him with a scowl on my face as he opens the door, revealing that he was only dressed in a black pair of Calvin Klein briefs, a very sexy pair of Calvin Klein black briefs might I add . . . I guess wearing briefs like these helped his game with the ladies. "And two: What evil little creature is preventing you from using the shower?"

"A very evil little creature . . ." he tells me as he shoots me an annoyed look. "Can I use your shower instead?"

"Uh . . . no," I tell him bluntly as I walk into his room, dragging him along to his open bathroom. "I'm not going to let you use my shower just because some evil little creature is hiding in your shower. Uh, what kind of evil little creature are you talking about anyway?"

"You'll know it once you see it . . ." he tells me glumly as he tries to drag his feet on the carpeted floor. "Now can you please stop dragging me along? I don't want to go back in there."

"You don't want to go back into your bathroom because of the 'evil little creature' hiding out in your shower . . ." I say with a roll of my eyes as we enter the small room. "What? Are you scared of it?"

"I'm not scared of it . . ." Randy tells me with a childish pout on his face as he crosses his arms and looks away. "I'm just . . . uncomfortable with it around."

"Uh huh . . ." I say with a shake of my head as I move the shower curtain away. Inside the tub, was a spider about the size of a quarter, crawling around the sizeable basin in order to find some way to escape. I couldn't help but let out a small chuckle as I turn to the scowling Viper, his stare bearing down on me with the weight of a hundred concrete blocks, but I didn't care. His discomfort was my joy. "I can't believe it . . . You're afraid of spiders aren't you?"

"I am not afraid of spiders . . ." he tells me bluntly as he shoots me a cold stare, but I notice how his gaze went all uncomfortable as he snuck a look at the spider in the tub. "I'm just uncomfortable when they are around."

"Well . . . let me help you get comfortable," I say as I grab the nozzle hanging from the hook and switch the hot water knob on. I point the nozzle right at the spider, spraying it with water until it was finally washed down the drain. "There, it's gone now. Now you can shower without the fear of having a spider in the same room as you. Now, if you excuse me, I have some YouTube videos to get back to. You can thank me later scaredy cat. . ."

"I'm not a scaredy cat Mara . . ." I hear him say with a groan as I make my leave.

"Randy babe . . . if you have to get someone else kill a bug that you should have done yourself, all because you were 'uncomfortable' with it might I add, then that proves that you were scared of it, thus justifying why I'm calling you a scaredy cat," I explain to him with a superior grin on my face. "Oh, and by the way, nice briefs. I never figured you were a Calvin Klein fan."

Randy goes wide eyed at my last statement before looking down at himself; finally noticing that he was standing in front of me while only wearing his underwear.

"Is that a blush I see appearing on your face?" I ask in mild shock, my smile still on my face as I pointed to his flushed appearance. "Aw c'mon Randy, I see you wrestle in your wrestling trunks practically weak. You wearing your regular briefs shouldn't be much different."

"Oh get out of here!" he tells me as he quickly shoves me out the room and shuts the door behind him. "I'll be out as soon as I'm done."

"Alright . . . whatever you say Randy," I say with a chuckle as I leave his room. "Whatever you say, you scaredy cat."
