Three already? Man I am on a roll! GO me! Hopefully this makes up for not being around lately. Am I forgiven? I hope so! Enjoy!
I turn to Ratchet and say, " I'm worried about him going in alone."
" Optimus will be fine as he always is." Ratchet assures me.
" I know but I can't help but worry. Maybe some of us should have went with him? It's been a while and he hasn't responded. Could we at least check on him?" I ask.
He sighs and nods but I think its more for just getting me to shut up. He gets ahold of Optimus' comm and asks, " Optimus, have you uncovered any signs of Unicrons emergence?"
" Unicron is powerful and you the last of the Primes shall perish." We hear a strange voice say.
" I take that as a yes." Ratchet says. " We are on our way."
We make our way to the bridge when we hear Optimus say, " Negative. Unicron cannot be defeated by shear force. He wants me Ratchet. This fight must be mine alone."
" You know sometimes his galient attitude is really annoying. How does he expect us to let him fight Unicron alone." I say.
" Something tells me that somewhere deep down he knows that we would probably disobey his orders so in a way hes expecting us to come." Bulkhead says.
Arcee looks to Bulk and says, " In a way that actually makes a lot of sense."
" It happens." Bulk smiles.
I look to Ratchet and say, " What do you say Ratchet? Give us a groundbridge?"
His answer comes in the form of him activating the groundbridge. " Have your weapons ready. You never know what may be on the other side."
" You got it. Lets go." I say. We all then make our way into the bridge and through to the other side. Once we're through we see Optimus being surrounded by what looks like rock figures. Hes overwhelmed so we quickly begin firing in hopes of giving him an opening.
We quickly fight our way to Optimus and kill off the figures around him so that he can get up.
The figures begin coming at us from above so we shoot those. I dont notice the ones behind me so one grabs me and slings me into the cliff wall. I quickly get back up and shoot one that was within touching distance, killing him instantly. One then comes from the left and another from the right.
I activate my blades and slice the head of the one on my left. I turn to get the one on my right but he is closer than expected, surprising me. Thankfully Bee slams into him keeping it from causing damage. I nod a thanks to him.
" Did Ratchet not relay my command?" Optimus asks us, surprised that we're here. " Return to base."
" Reinforcement will not prevent your destruction disciple of Primus." Unicrons voice says.
" Optimus, your Unicrons target maybe you should consider returning to base." Arcee states.
" These manifestations of Unicron can locate me anywhere on Earth. Even our bases shielding would only cloak me for so long. I will not leave others at risk. " Optimus argues.
" Then fall back and let us take the lead, just this once." Bulkhead suggests.
" Please listen to reason. If you dont survive Optimus, I fear neither will this planet." Ratchet says through the comm.
" Very well." Optimus agrees.
" Lets move." Arcee commands.
I run next to Arcee with weapons drawn. We both jump onto a ledge and make quick work of the figure standing there. The others quickly fall in behind us. We run along the ledge killing these things as we go. Run, shoot, run, and shoot. That seems to become a routine.
Soon we get to the top and transform to vehicle mode. We drive along and run into the figures as we go. Soon we are forced to come to a stop and transform when a huge, and I mean huge, pile of rocks form into the biggest Figure we've seen yet.
" Is that Unicron?" Bee questions.
" No not Unicron himself but another of his manifestations." Optimus answers.
" If we cant beat Unicron and we cant outrun him; what exactly are we supposed to do." Bulk says.
" All we can do. Neutralize his vessels as they appear until we find a way to destroy him without destroying the very Earth upon which we walk. " Optimus says.
Bee and Bulk go to Unicrons back to fire from there, but he swings his spiked arm at them making them go flying.
Me and Arcee start firing at his side. However he quickly starts trying to swipe at us. He makes one swing that I manage to see coming so I quickly jump in the air to avoid the swing. Arcee wasn't so lucky. The swing hits her making her go skidding across the ground.
I run along his arm towards his face slicing it with my blade as I go. I manage to reach his head so I jump to his face and slice at it. This only seems to anger him cause when I go to do it again he catches me with his hand and throws me to the ground.
Once I make impact with the ground I can't help but whimper in pain. Getting thrown is not fun.
Optimus continues to fire until the figure throws rocks at him trapping Optimus underneath.
Bee, Bulk, and I quickly begin firing at him hoping to draw his attention away from Optimus.
The figure raises its foot to squish Optimus as it says, " I am this planets past and its future and as of this moment-"
" No!" I hear Arcee yell.
" All Primes will be past." Unicron finishes. He lifts his foot higher to smash Optimus when all of the sudden a blast comes from somewhere hitting Unicron in the head making him fall to the ground in pieces.
" Which one of you did that?" Bee questions.
" Wasn't me." Arcee answers.
" Me neither." I add.
" Don't look at me." Bulk finishes.
" Ratchet?!" Arcee comms.
" What is it? What happened?" Ratchet asks.
" I happened." Megatrons voice rings out.
We look up and see Megatron standing on top of the rubble that was the Unicron figure. He then jumps and lands in front of where Optimus is trapped.
" Megatron?" Bulkhead exclaims.
We quickly draw out weapons and point them at Megatron just incase he does something we dont like.
" King cons there too?" Miko questions.
" He has alligned himself with Unicron." Ratchet says.
" Don't be so sure. Megatron just saved Optimus' tailpipe." Arcee corrects.
Megatron walks up in front of Optimus and just when you think he's gonna blast him away, he holds out his servo for Optimus to take.
Optimus is obviously shocked but takes the servo anyway.
" It is rather ironic, considering our last encounter." Megatron states. " If memory serves you were despertely attempting to extinguish my spark."
" That option remains very much in play." Optimus retorts.
" I would expect nothing less. However, I have a proposel. Join me in defeating our shared enemy, Unicron the chaos bringer." Megatron proposes.
There is silence until we hear Ratchet say, " Ha! Absurd. Unicron is an evil incarnet. If Megatron was to take any side why would it be ours?"
" Because Megatrons pride would not allow anyone other than himself to rule this planet." Optimus answers.
" You know me all too well Optimus." Megatron states sarcastically.
Bulkhead interjects by saying, " You lead an army of cons. Why come to us?"
" Because this particular indever requires something beyond the realm of my command. The power of a Prime." Megatron answers.
" Ha then I guess we don't need you.'' Bulkhead says.
" On the contrary, Optimus may be the only one who can defeat Unicron, but I remain the only one who can guide you to him. Unicrons life blood runs through me so only I can hear his thoughts, anticipate his movements. Optimus our past alliances, autobot decepticon, no longer matter. Not while Unicron lives." Megatron explains.
" The past always matters!" Ratchet yells.
" A truce between autobot and decepticon. How long do you expect us to believe that will last?" Optimus asks.
" Only as long as is mutually benefical." Megatron answers.
" And when our proposed shared misson is complete?" Optimus asks expecting the bad news.
" I will conquer this Earth my way." Megatron answers.
" Brutal honesty from a decepticon?" Arcee asks hardly believing it.
" Alligning with the lesser of two evils is still siding with evil." Ratchet says.
" Do you think you've witnessed the full power of Unicron? Those foot soilders were nothing more than a taste. Unicron has yet to fully awaken. With each passing moment the chaos evolves mutating Earth from the inside out. What we have witnessed until now is a prelude of the utter devestation his rising will reek upon your world." Megatron says.
" How is this any different from what you did to Cybertron?!" I snarl at him.
Megatron marches forwards as he says, " Make no mistake, this time there will be a planet left for me to rule."
" Even if we agree, Unicrons all the way in the center of the Earth. How are we supposed to get there? Drive?" Bulk asks.
" There is only one way." Optimus says.
" Absolutly not! Groundbridging into space or on a moving train is difficult enough but plotting a blind jump inside of a sentient being? Besides direct exposure to that much dark energon will debilitate you. You haven't built up an immunity like Megatron has." Ratchet argues.
" Yet another strong argument for silisiting." Megatron says.
" You can provide Unicrons exact coordinates?" Optimus questions.
" If you transport us to this planets core, then I can lead you directly into Unicrons spark. The very heart of his darkness." Megatron says.
" Optimus even if we survive the jump how are we suppost to stop Unicron?" argues Arcee.
Optimus shares a look with Megatron before he answers, " With the matrix of leadership."
" What is that?" We hear Fowler ask.
" A vessel of pure energy. The collective wisdom of the Primes." Ratchet answers.
" Do we have time for a scavenger hunt? I mean where is Optimus supposed to find this matrix?" asks Jack.
" Optimus does not need to find it. He carries it within him." Ratchet answers.
" It was the combined power of the Primes that defeated Unicron so long ago. The very reason he now seeks to destroy you." Megatron says.
" It would follow that unleashing the power of the matrix directly into Unicrons spark would return him to stasis." Optimus concludes.
" Hold on. If everything goes right, Unicrons gonna stay down there?" asks Miko.
" Yeah cant we siphen him out somehow?" Jack asks.
" Hes not in the Earths core Jack. He IS the Earths core." Raph states.
" Rapheal is correct. Tampering with the core could affect the magnetic poles, triggering the very cataclismic events that we are attempting remedy. Tragically, Unicron is your planets very seed. Always has been and always must be. " Ratchet states.
Suddenly the rocks around our peds start to move towards where another figure is forming. Oh great.
" We got another one." Bulk states.
" Ratchet send a groundbridge." Optimus commands.
" Wait! We're opening up a direct path to our base with Megatron standing right there?" Arcee asks.
" And seriously? He's gonna risk his own spark to save us?" Bulk asks.
Megatron laughs and says, " Hardly my nature. Consider my offer. I shall keep it busy.'' With that said Megatron transforms and flys towards the figure and begins firing at it. Soon all of us are inside the groundbridge and into base.
Once inside Ratchet says, " I know that desperate times call for desperate measures but bringing Megatron here?"
" How can you even think of bringing that monster near these children after what he did to Raph?!" June asks angrily.
" He will be closely monitored and only allowed to linger long enough to send us on our journey. Not one moment more." Optimus answers.
" Whats gonna stop the con from calling an air strike when he knows where you live?' Fowler asks.
" By groundbridging Megatron here he will be unable to get a fix on our coordinates." answers Optimus.
" Optimus, whats gonna happen to you when all your matrix energy is released?" asks Jack.
" The power within the matrix has not previously been utilized in this particular manner." Optimus says.
" But you have an idea dont you?" Jack asks hopefully.
" Autobots if humankind is to be saved, I have no choice but to proceed, but you do. " Optimus says giving us a choice.
After a moment of silence Bulk says, " Well I don't know about human kind but I'm willing to do it for Miko."
" For Jack." Arcee says.
" For Raph." Bee adds.
" For all of them and for my brother." I say.
The kids smile at their guardians with those words.
With that Optimus contacts Megatron, " Megatron, we are sending transport."
" You can always be relied upon to listen to reason Optimus." Megatron replies.
At Optimus' command Ratchet activates the groundbridge. Now we are telling the humans to go and wait in the hall. However Miko, go figure, is being less than cooperative.
" No fair. I've never seen him." Miko argues. " Why do we have to hide?"
" Because I said so." Ratchet says.
" Trust me Miko he isn't anything special to look at. Now go into the hall." I say sternly.
With a glare she turns and joins the others. Just in time to because here comes Megatron.
Once inside Megatron takes a quick look around and then says, " So this is where the magic happens. Quant."
Unfortunatly I see Raph walk into the room and straight up to Megatron.
Megatron quickly notices him and looks at him. " Ahh your looking much better than the last time we met little one. Humans...resiliant."
I look to them and say, " Take him back into the hall and make sure you all stay there."
Jack nods and walks up to Raph and says, " Come on Raph he isn't worth it."
Jack goes to follow but stops when he hears Megatron say, " And you. I never forget a face, even that of a human."
Jack doesn't say anthing as he turns and walks towards the hall.
Stupidly Miko shouts, " You double-cross anyone and my face is the one you'll never forget. Never!"
" Miko! Agent Fowler get her out of here." I scold at her and tell him.
He nods and then grabs a thrashing Miko and drags her back to the hall.
Megatron turns to me and says, " Have your little pets trained do you?"
I turn to him and in a voice of anger say, " They aren't pets you fragger."
" Ohh such hostility and language." Megatron says, pleased that he got a reaction out of me.
" As if you deserve anything less." I snarl.
" Solarstorm! Thats enough." Optimus commands.
With that I stop, well with the talking anyway.
" Ratchet uptain the destination coordinates from our guest." Optimus states.
With that said, Megatron walks over to the groundbridge controls to tell Ratchet what he needs to know. We supervise him as he does so. Soon Ratchet has the groundbridge activated waiting for us to use. Megatron, of course, is waiting at the enterance.
" Locked and ready." Ratchet informs Optimus.
Arcee and I lead the way but stop once we get to Megatron. We both glare at him and Arcee breaks the silence by saying, " You first."
" As you wish." Megatron says giving a mock bow. He then turns to the bridge and walks into it. We give one last look to the humans before following after him.
Once we get to the other side Optimus is standing by Megatron with me behind them, Bee and Bulk behind me, and Arcee bringing up the rear. I look around at the surroundings and see what appears to be branches of some sort throughout the area and it appears to be pulsing.
" So how long before Unicron knows we're in here?" asks Arcee.
" Make no mistake. He already does." Megatron answers.
With that we start walking along the path not noticing the optic looking down at up from the top of the room."
Wow another done?! Apparently it can be done. Lol. Well there you go. Sorry there hasn't been much action. These two were'nt that exciting to write for. I don't know why. Hopefully the next one will be better, which reminds me is the last one for season 1! I knew I'd make it...eventually...but thats besides the point. Review and I will see you next time!
