Chapter Twenty-Six: All You Wanted
I'm sinking slowly, so hurry hold me
Your hand is all I have to keep me hanging on
Please can you tell me, so I can finally see
Where you go when you're gone
If you want to, I can save you
I can take you away from here
So lonely inside, so busy out there
And all you wanted was somebody who cares

"We need to tell them, Huck." Quinn paced around the warehouse and Huck continued to hack into the finances for the Agricultural Department.
"No we don't." Huck replied monotonously.
"Yes we do. You're not killing her." Quinn repeated.
"If I do it then"
"Then you become exactly what they want." Quinn snapped, "An extension of B-613, something you worked so hard to escape." Quinn dropped to her knees by his chair, "Baby," she drew his head down to her, "you don't want that life anymore. I don't want that life anymore. We've moved past that."
"Then why are we doing this? Because this is just asking for that life again. This is that life again." Huck snapped.
"No, it's not." Quinn stated calmly, "Because we're not going to hurt anyone. We're just shutting it down. Then no one will have to live in that life again." She whispered.
"What's going on?" Olivia asked, "Who are we discussing killing? Because killing is not part of the plan."
Huck dropped his head and Quinn stood up. "Command wants Huck to kill Caroline."
Olivia stilled, "That's it, we're out, I don't want anyone to die."
"It doesn't matter if we stop or not, they're going to want me to go through with it. They're proving that no matter what we do or who we surround ourselves with, they control us. They will always control us." Huck spat.
"So then we just fake her death." Fitz shrugged, "We can do that, right?"
"Fake whose death?" Cyrus and Harrison joined them moments later. "Who needs to die?" Cyrus asked.
"They want to kill Caroline." Olivia watched Harrison's reaction.
He shook his head, "No, I mean, we can't kill, you can't kill, no." He maintained.
"No one is going to hurt her." Quinn floated to his side, "Right, Huck?"
Harrison pushed Quinn away, "You were thinking about it? You were actually considering it?"
Huck stood so quickly his chair fell back, "It's not like it would be the first person I killed. It's not like it would be the first agent I took out. And I was busy protecting Quinn."
"Well this is me protecting Caroline." Harrison straightened.
"She lied to you. She used you. She cheated on you." Huck cried out, "How can you defend her?"
"Because she's still a person. And no one deserves to die like that. And she's helping us." Harrison explained.
"She's helping herself." Huck spat.
"We're all helping ourselves!" Olivia screeched. "We all want to be free. We're all helping ourselves, we just have the same end goal. Now we're not killing Caroline. Fitz is right, we just fake her death." She took a breath, "So, what kind of proof do they need?"
"They want me to give them her watch."
"That's it?" Fitz rolled his eyes, "Can't we just go get it from her."
Quinn shook her head, "It's not that easy." She paused, "They're going to want to see the body. And they'll have someone with him. Not necessarily in the room while he does it, but someone to help transport the body to the dump site."
"So we need a body to switch hers out with." Olivia mused.
"This is so disturbing." Cyrus mumbled.
"So we need a body and we need blood." Quinn picked up Olivia's train of thought, "And the place we do it needs to have a way for Caroline to sneak out undetected." She tapped her fingers, "And you'll have to do enough to the body so that Charlie, I'm assuming that's who they're sending with you, won't be able to recognize her."
"You know Charlie?" Huck asked.
"Well, he went by a different name, but yeah. He liked to call me Robin. I hated him. I hated him so much. Still do." Quinn rolled her eyes. "And we'll need power tools."
"Power tools?" Harrison asked.
"You don't want to know." Quinn stated.
"Damn right about that." Fitz muttered, "Let's read Caroline in." He pulled out the burner phone and dialed her number.
SCANDAL
"Do I even want to know how you got a body?" Fitz asked two days later.
Olivia shook her head, "Probably not. But let's just say that I'm not a skilled locksmith should we ever get locked out of the house or car."
"Awesome, I'm a well-respected judge and my girlfriend's a thief." He muttered.
"It's exciting and you love it."
"I love you." He corrected.
Olivia bit her lip and smiled up at him, "I love you too, Fitz." She sighed, "Oh good, here's Quinn with the blood."
"So gross." Fitz muttered.
When they arrived at the warehouse Huck was going to use to "kill Caroline" in, they waited in the car. "Everything's clear." Caroline came up to the car door with Harrison in tow. "We're all set." She opened the back of the car and helped Quinn grab the body, "I can't believe they want to kill me."
"Can you blame them? You failed." Quinn muttered.
"Ouch, don't be such a bitch, Quinn." Caroline grunted as she adjusted the weight.
"You hurt Harrison."
"I apologized."
"Not enough." Quinn snapped, "Just be glad we talked Huck out of actually killing you."
"Where is he anyhow?"
"Buying power tools with Charlie."
"He thinks he's so," Caroline adjusted the body, "dang this is heavy, do I really weigh this much," she gripped the corpse tighter, "he thinks he's so clever naming himself after Charles Manson. The man is in prison. Idiot."
"Agreed." Quinn set the body in the warehouse. "You ready for tonight?"
"Let's just get it over with." Caroline rolled her eyes, "Are we all set for the break in?"
Quinn nodded, "Yeah, Huck's got everything we need to get in and get the files."
"And have we made any progress on their funding?"
"From what we can see they pull a little from every department. There's no clear way to shut down the funding. The files should provide something though, maybe we can blackmail departments into cutting their funding. No clue, Fitz needs to go through them all and start to pull strings." Quinn patted her shoulder, "We got this."
SCANDAL
Caroline paced outside of the warehouse that night, "Huck!" She called out when he arrived, "What do you want?" She knew Charlie was waiting in a van for him. For them.
"We need to talk." Huck opened the door, "Inside."
"This better be good." Caroline muttered, looking around.
Once inside, Huck hit play on a recording of screams that built up over time and pulled out a drill, matching the speed with the screams as he dug holes into the corpse. Caroline spattered blood over the tarp and corpse. Twenty-five minutes later, Huck wrapped the body in the tarp and nodded to Caroline who was slipping out the back.
"Well it sounded like you had fun." Charlie quipped from the driver's seat.
"Just drive." Huck held Caroline's watch in his hand. A part of him wished he'd really killed her. A part of him knew Quinn was right. He'd worked so hard to not be that monster. And since meeting her, he'd worked so hard to be a good man, a complete man. It was probably good he hadn't killed her.
SCANDAL
"Body's in the East River, boss." Charlie saluted Rowan and Jonathan, "I'm out."
"Thank you, Charlie." Jonathan waved him away, holding his hand out. Huck placed the blood spattered watch in it. "Thank you, Huck. You're free to go. For now." Hearing the tacked on 'for now' made Huck realized that Olivia was right. If he ever wanted to be a good man, a complete man, B-613 had to go.
