Chapter 25: Assault
"Kirlia, is everyone ready?" I asked. We were at the edge of town. Beside me stood Gabite, Froslass, and Kirlia who was sitting on Luxray's back.
It took a whole day to get prepared. Everyone helped out where they could. Even I helped dig a little. By night time we were done, and now it was the next day.
"Yeah," said Luxray, kneeling down a little, ready to run forward.
"Let's do this," I said, nervously smiling.
We ran forward.
It was a thirty minute hike to the human stronghold. Gabite immediately dug down into the ground and Frosslass sunk into the ground. This way, I would hear her say to Gabite every so often. Gabite swam through the ground and the rest of us walked in behind her. After a good five minutes, Gabite had broken through a brick wall. Although it was dark, I noticed that we had entered another room because when we broke through the wall, a blast of warm air hit us.
"Kirlia, will you do the honors and wake everyone up?" I asked quietly.
After a few seconds, I heard yawning and some mumbling around the room. I didn't dare turn on my lights, because I didn't want to tick anyone off.
"Frosslass, how are we going to open these cages?" I asked.
"Darn it, we haven't planned that far ahead." Uttered Frosslass.
"We have no choice, we'll have to open these cages by force, or we have to find the keys." Said Frosslass.
"You guys." Said A pokemon in a cage. "If you promise to break us out, then I'll tell you where the keys are!"
"Alright." I said, not that we were planning to do anything else. "Where are they?"
"They're in the next room. There's a guards quarters." Said the Pokemon. "Inside you should see multiple keys."
"Frosslass?" I asked.
"On it." Said Frosslass, she weaved through the maze of cages and slipped through the wall.
"Kirlia, can you make sure the guard is kept asleep?" I asked.
"I'll see what I can do, but I can't guarantee anything." Said Kirlia.
We waited for a while, but quietly I whispered to Kirlia, "Do you see what Frosslass is up to?"
"I think there's a lot of keys." Kirlia said tonelessly. She sounded like she was in some trance.
After a while, I heard the door open and lots of jingling, it sounded like someone came in with bags of coins.
Frosslass floated towards us and I saw why it took her so long. There were so many keys that she had to hold them with her arms. She dropped them onto the floor and said," There that should be all of it."
"Thanks, but this is going to take a while." Said Frosslass.
"Agreed." Said Frosslass. Me and Luxray turned on out lights.
It took about five minutes before we even got the first cage open. The first pokemon flew out, and then came back to help us. But soon maybe in about thirty minutes, we had everyone out.
"Everyone may I have your attention. I need all the diggers to help dig a hole that leads outside." I said, feeling all the eyes that were currently on me. I heard some muttering, and everyone moved towards the hall. I followed them and I saw the diggers start to break the walls. They quickly dug upward.
"After them!" I shouted.
Alarms started to sound as we ascended. Soon we were outside.
"Everyone!" I shouted. "Follow me!"
I ran towards the forest and looked back. Everyone was following me. Beside me was Luxray, Kirlia, and Froslass.
"Kirlia, tell everyone behind us our plan." I shouted.
"Alright," she said in my head.
At the rim of the forest, was one of the emergency holes.
"Put the Pokemon that haven't evolved yet inside!" I shouted to the group, once they caught up. "It leads straight to the town!"
I looked inside and I could see Charmeleon's fire reflecting against Shellgon's armor.
After a wave of Pokemon went inside, the diggers went ahead and buried the holes.
"Incoming!" shouted a Pokemon closer to the edge of the forest.
"Let's go!" I shouted. I ran through the forest. After a few minutes, I could hear thunder crackle, fire pop, and water splash, I can hear battle taking place behind me.
"C'mon!" I shouted, running forward.
Then we made it to the second hole. I looked inside the hole and saw Umbreon and Buizel.
"You're doing great!" shouted Umbreon from the hole.
I smiled and ordered, "Get the second evolution Poke-"
I felt hands grab around my chest, and I felt my body move away, like suddenly, I was hit by a car. Then everything stopped and I was released. I looked around wildly. And a tall yellow monster stood before me, his head blocking the moon.
I cursed under my breath.
"We meet again." Said Alakazam chuckling. I turned around and saw his trainer.
"Where are you?!" I heard Kirlia's voice shout in my head.
"Oh no you don't." said Alakazam, and her voice was cut off.
I stared at the Alakazam wide eyed, and remembered how I had been beaten before. I felt my legs shake.
"Aww, scared?" whispered the Alakazam kneeling down and touching my face. I bit his fingers and with his psychic powers he flung me across the forest before I could bite down on his fingers hard. I slammed into a tree behind me and landed on my face, pain rising across my back. His eyes started to glow, and I heard a high pitched drone. The sound cut through my head like a knife. It was so loud I couldn't hear myself think or scream.
Then suddenly a blast of water hit the Alakazam's face, making him lose focus.
"Leave Luxio alone!" shouted Buizel's voice as I fell to my knees.
Alakzam's eyes started to glow again and not too far away, I could hear Buizel screaming. I slowly got to my feet, and I walked over to the Alakazam. I chomped down on his leg. He lost his focus but he quickly regained it, and flung me. I hit another tree, and I fell face flat, my conscious fading. I saw a bright glow of light. The light lasted for a full five seconds.
A blast of water hit the Alakzam and pushed him to a tree. The Alakzam focused and by using his psychic powers he pushed the water back with an invisible wall. Then from my right came a blast of purple flame. Hitting The Alakzam's head and making hit the jet of water and get pushed into a tree.
"Are you okay Luxio?" asked Charmeleon, his voice sounded far.
I got to my feet and said," Barely. We have to deal with that Alakzam."
"Sit here, we have this in a bag." Said Charmeleon who launched another blast of purple flame at the Alakazam.
The jet of water stopped and the Alakzam launched Charmeleon into a wall, and pushed him down. I could see him having trouble getting up, almost like there was too much gravity. I crawled over to Charmeleon and uttered, "Grab on."
I slowly started to stand up and the Charmeleon put his arm on my back and I slowly got him to his feet.
"Go!" I said.
This time Charmeleon rapid fired his Dragon Rage, launching a stream of purple flames from his mouth at Alakzam. Alakazam had no time to dodge and was pushed into a tree from the force, and I felt Charmeleon let go of me, free of his weight. Then from the corner of my eye, I could see a stream of water pushing Alakazam into the tree. The tree cracked and fell apart as Alakazam was slowly pushed into it. Then the two stopped and Charmeleon started to glow. His glow became brighter and he slowly became taller until it all disappeared leaving a Charizard in his place.
He smiled as he looked down at himself. He grabbed me in one hand as I slowly fell. I closed my eyes and let myself fall asleep.
(Setsuna Damius Note: It's strange, to write a book, and get closer and closer to the end. Like there's probably less than 8 chapters now. It's been longer than two years. And reading some of these pages. I remember what I used to think. I remember how I was in pain furring the first few chapters writing this. How my life was, I remember it was tough. Now, I'm free, and it feels weird, almost like another person's book. But I know it's mine.
Holy cow, Okay, I'm actually getting tired of this story. I'm going to run this through. Because I know that if I don't, I'm just not going to do it. I'm going to ignore grammar mistakes, I'm going to just have to run it through.)
