Chapter 25-Let's Practice for the Magic Games!
Lucy was working extra hard for the Magic Games alone but her master and her Sabertooth friends. Ever since that night, she ignored Sting and Rouge, who she had a fight with. She tried to ignore it, because she knew they didn't understood her. She was willing to do what her master tells her. Even if it meant death.
"LUCY!" The master shouted. I stopped running. "Yes, my maser?"
"You can stop now," he answered, taking a sip from his water bottle. "Yes, master," She quickly sat on the grass next to the track.
"You're quite respectful today," the master decided to say.
"Huh? Really?" she grabbed a towel from the Sabertooth members who were supposedly serving her. "How? Is it bothersome?"
He laughed. "No! Don't think like that! I think that it is amazing to respect your master! Good job!"
Lucy laughed. "I want to be nice to my master, because I think it's something we all humans should have! Plus, I want to be working extra hard for the Grand Magic Games!"
"Yes, the Grand Magic Games are really hard to beat. There are other guilds here who are strong. More stronger than us but we're better than the freaks right? We're the best guild in Fiore and you are one of our strongest wizard in Sabertooth!"
Lucy looked at him with her big chocolatey eyes. "You sure? I think you are one of the best wizards, as well as the best masters in Fiore!"
"Stop, you're making me blush!" he didn't even had the need to blush.. or want. The master grinned. "Why don't you take a break? You're getting stronger each minute! Take a break and relax!"
"Are you sure? I want to win to become the very best.. and for you!
"We have to be the very best. But we've been at it for an hour. Winners should take a break, right?"
"I will continue on," Lucy replied.
"Hm... however you wish. But, don't overwork yourself!" He didn't have any sort of expression on his face and didn't say anything after that. He waved goodbye and shouted, "I'll be in my office if you need me!"
Behind Lucy's back, he smirked. You stupid little girl. I don't care how you work before the Grand Magic Games. You better train and overwork yourself regardless..
Lucy was over there, smiling, not knowing how much he hated Lucy. He was pure evil, using Lucy just to win for the Grand Magic Games. Obviously, he chose her, Sting, Rouge, Minvera, and Rufus.
She laid flat onto the ground, smiling at the shaped clouds. Her forehead was shiny and she was sweaty, especially when she ran a mile for the past ten minutes. She also fought some of her Sabertooth members to improve her fighting, defense, and offensive.
She got up, not feeling tired or anything. "Alright! Time to train more!"
She ran for another mile until her legs "gave" out. The moment she ran half of the mile, she found Sting and Rouge walking past the track field. When they noticed her running, they stopped immediately to watch her run.
She noticed them too, but continued running. She shot daggers at her and stopped looking at them.
"Oi! Why are you ignoring us, stupid blondie?! We were just going to say good luck but it seems you're perfectly fine!"
Lucy stopped near them. "Maybe you should just go practice for some circus thing. Go away. I'm busy."
They were speechless. Sting had the need to punch Lucy in the face but Rouge stepped forward, signaling him not to do anything. "Listen Lucy..." Rouge muttered. "I don't care about what you're doing right now. Is this what you really want to do?"
"Yes, duh!" Lucy took a bottle of water and drank from it. "I will win the Grand Magic Games! I will please my master! Don't you too?"
"That master makes most of us rebel," Sting rasped. "I hate that.. but if I leave, then he'll kill me before I actually do."
Lucy sat down on the soft, green grass. "Maybe you should consider what you're going to do... unless you wanna die right here right now. But.. ehh.. a person like you should just face the consequences."
This pissed Sting off. "No, no, no." Lucy said. "If you try to defeat me, you'll get punished by the master. He wants me physically fit and active. Plus, even so, you have no chance of trying to defeat me."
Rouge looked at her. "We're not even talking about it!" he exclaimed. "I asked if you really wanted to do it. Trying to sacrifice! Natsu-"
"DON'T YOU EVEN DARE MENTION THAT STUPID NAME!" Lucy shouted. "That kind of guy should just fall in pits. Haahh..." she got up from the grass. "Go away, I'm busy. I'm training really hard to win." She rushed towards the track, and then turned around. "I can't deal with you people," she said. "I won't be able to cooperate with you.. you guys make me sick. Now go away and fix your attitude." She began running.
Sting and Rouge were surprised. "Let's go," Rouge said, firmly. "We can't change this girl's attitude."
Sting looked down. "M-Mm.."
The two walked away from the track field, leaving the jogging blondie alone.
"Wake up! Wake up, you stupid blockhead!"
Natsu slowly opened his eyes due to the crust in his eyes. He got up from his little nap on the counter and rubbed his eyes. "What? What happened?"
Mirajane hit him in the head with a newspaper. "Get ready for the Grand Magic Games! We don't have much time! It's in three months and we need you to be as strong as possible! That's what master says!"
Natsu laughed like an idiot and grinned. "Sorry, sorry! I didn't get enough sleep last night!"
Mirajane pouted. "Go practice with the others. Gray and Elfman are having a fight to improve their strength! Just so you know, Wendy is over there, healing just in case if something happens! They're not hurting each other so you're alright!"
Natsu grinned. "Cool! Now I can beat that ice wizard bastard right here right now..."
Suddenly he was hit with a huge chunk of ice by the head. He turned around with a grinning ice freak.
"WHOA! DID YOU JUST DO THAT TO ME YOU STUPID ICE STRIPPER?!"
"YEAH YOU FIRE FLAME BASTARD! WHAT'RE YOU GONNA DO ABOUT IT, HUH!?"
"SOMETHING YOU WILL REGRET FOREVER! GO DIE YOU STUPID JUVIA LOVER!"
Juvia's ears perked up and ran towards Natsu. "You really think so, Natsu?!" Her heart went doki doki.
Natsu sighed. "Yeah, whatever."
Juvia then went crazy fangirl mode. "THANK YOU! YOU ARE MY BEST FRIEND EVER! SEE, GRAY SAMA?! EVEN HE ACCEPTS!"
Gray and Natsu started fighting again, leaving Juvia there to cheer on Gray.
"Oh, Natsu! Gray and I were practicing like men for the Grand Magic Games! You in?"
"I don't know but SURE! I will so kick Gray's ass."
"WHAT DID YOU SAY YOU STUPID FIREBRAIN?!"
"YOU HEARD ME, WANNA FIGHT?!"
Before they could start fighting, Erza was standing in front of them, leaving them speechless and fearful.
"Did I see something I shouldn't have?" She asked, glaring at the both of them.
The two hugged together. "N-N-Nothing! You saw nothing! You saw us bonding together! See?! We're b-b-b-bonding!" Their voices clearly shook, Mirajane left with a giggle.
"Alright then. Ah, Mira, the master has to talk to you. I don't know, probably something about the Grand Magic Games."
"Oh, alrighty then," Mirajane headed upstairs. "Bye then, guys!"
Erza turned to the "bonding brothers". "So..." She transformed into her Knight. "Well, I feel like practicing. Mira is going to take a while. Shall we start?"
The two shivered.. not in peace. "Well... um... it's okay. We're fine." Gray stammered.
Natsu punched him in the face. "WRONG! WE HAVE TO BEAT ERZA! THE ERZA SCARLET! IF WE DON'T, WE HAVE NO MATCH FOR SABERTOOTH OR THE OTHER GUILDS IN THE GRAND MAGIC GAMES!"
Gray smacked him in the face as soon as he got back up. "YOU'RE RIGHT! WE MUST DEFEAT THE ERZA SCARLET. THE WOMAN WHO GAVE US PAIN THROUGHOUT OUR SEVENTEEN YEARS. THAT'S RIGHT! YOU HEARD US! SEVENTEEN YEARS AND WE'RE HERE FOR REVENGE1!"
Erza sighed. "Hah, if you insist. Well, shall we get started?"
"Ah, Erza, I've only been up there for about five minutes. You started a fight with them?"
Natsu and Gray laid flat on the floor, defeated with steam coming out from them. "Yup, they know when to give up a fight when it comes to me."
Mira giggled. "That's funny! Hey, we should fight sometimes!" She clapped her hands. "Master told me I should participate in the Grand Magic Games! I was thinking about it very carefully, because I thought maybe Natsu, Wendy, Gajeel, Gray, and you join. You guys are almost like the second original Fairy Tail team!"
Erza sighed after a moment of silence. "If Lucy replaced Gajeel, this would've been the original team."
Mirajane then noticed why Erza just said that. She smiled. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have brought that up."
Erza shook her head. "No, it's okay. You don't have to apologize." She pointed back with her thumb. "I'm going to the library if you need me."
Mirajane nodded. "Sure!"
Erza then looked back at Natsu, who was currently fighting Gray and Elfman. Please save Lucy soon... Erza thought.
Natsu, Gray, and Elfman were all tired out from their fight, with support from Wendy. "Do you guys want water?"
"Sure, thanks!" Wendy threw him a water bottle and some wet towels. "You guys are working extra hard today!"
Natsu grinned. "We will win the Grand Magic Games! We know we're all better than everyone else!"
"Nope, you're wrong, flamehead," Gray said. "We know we're all better than everyone else... and you."
The two started fighting, with a sweatdropped Wendy and a confused Elfman, who was wiping his sweat. "Who's joining the Grand Magic Games?" Wendy asked.
"I know it's not me, of course." Elfman replied. "I think you, Natsu, Gray, Mira, and some other kid should join."
"I can't possibly join!" Wendy waved her hands everywhere. "I'm.. scared."
"Remember, you have to fight for your guild, scared or not," Elfman said. "If you are, we're always here for you. We people are MEENNNN!"
Wendy smiled. "Thank you, but I'm a girl. I'm going to hang out with Romeo."
"Alright, bye. You don't need to heal them, they're just idiots."
"I HEARD THAT, BLOCKHEAD!"
"WANNA FIGHT LIKE MEN IN A MEN BATTLE, YOU STUPID MEN?!"
The three fought, leaving Wendy sweatdropped. "...Whatever.. Romeo!" She called to the thirteen year old black haired teen in the counter. "Yo, Wendy! What's up?"
Wendy flopped on the seat. "Nothing much, you?"
Romeo looked worried. "Bored. I miss Lucy.."
Wendy watched his sudden move. Where did he get Lucy? She never mentioned anything about her, she didn't even think about her by that moment!
"Yeah... let's not talk about her right this moment.." she looked down. "Look.. I miss her too.. but we can't stay sad all the time. We'll get her back.. I promise..." Romeo nodded. "Mm.."
Wendy took out a deck of cards and shuffled them. "I just bought a new deck of cards. Wanna play double speed?"
"Sure.." Romeo nodded as she lined up the cards.
While they played, Natsu, Erza, Gray, and Mirajane were hogging the counter (where Mira usually stands), including Juvia, who was hugging Gray.
"I'm bored! Let's go on a job! I'm low on money!" Natsu mumbled, trying to shoot flames out of his mouth. "I can't even shoot flames at Gray!"
"Shut up, flame-head," Gray hit his head. "We're going anyway. We'll get stronger before the Grand Magic Games."
"First, go heat up something. I need some fire."
"I'll get them!" Juvia shouted. "Only if you don't hurt Gray-sama."
Erza sighed. "Juvia..."
"Fine! But I can't promise that!"
Juvia called for Elfman to get some wood, which pissed Elfman so much because he was watching Romeo and Wendy play Double Speed, and shit just got real between them because they were busily putting each card down every second.
Elfman brought back some wood and Erza scraped both together creating wood, then throwing it at Natsu. He sucked the fire in, got up, and screamed. "LET'S GO ON A JOB GUYS!"
"Hold on, shut up. We need to find one anyway!" Erza walked towards the jobs post, and Mirajane chuckled. "You guys are so cute! Natsu, you want more fire?"
"SURE!" Mirajane pointed to the kitchen. "Go find the fireplace and get the fire. Don't worry about it!"
Natsu grinned. "ALL RIGHT! YOU BETTER NOT GIVE ANYTHING TO GRAY!"
Gray shouted, feeling pissed off, "WHAT DID YOU SAY, ASSHOLE."
Natsu and Gray began their little argument before Erza got both of them into trouble. "SHUT UP!" Erza slammed her fists into the two heads. Mirajane slightly kicked the unconscious idiots to see if they were still alive. "Erza, did you find one?"
Erza grinned. "Yup, it's pretty simple," she held up a poster. "It's an S-Class job. This will improve our training a ton!"
Mirajane smiled. "Oh? What's the job?"
"Stop the government from being to harsh. It seems there is an evil king and queen trying to kill the colonists and stuff. It says that the guards, the king and queen combined are really strong. Just way over strong. The prize money is fair and high so it'll last for about three months I guess!"
"This'll improve so much for the game!" Mirajane grinned. "Hurry up and pack your bags. I'll let Makarov know."
"Aww! Can Juvia go?!" she pondered.
Erza sighed. "I don't know... if you want. Just don't mess us up."
Juvia jumped up and down. "Yay! Now I can be with Gray-sama for the entire day!"
Erza chuckled. "Help us fight when we need you. Come on, let's go." She pulled the unconscious boys by their feet (Gray was naked and Natsu doesn't have a shirt) and Juvia happily skipped with them.
"Lucy."
Lucy stopped running on the track to hear the voice. "Ah, master! I've been training hard!"
The master laughed. "Good. Keep it up."
"So... was there something you need?"
"I want you to do a job for me. It's strong people and I think you'll improve stronger during this job."
She ran towards him. "Can I see the paper?"
He handed her the paper, and she glanced at it for a while. "Stop the kingdom from killing colonists... whoa! It's an S-Class Job! Look how much they're giving us!"
"It's not like I'll improve in there..?"
"That's why I want you to do it. Not the money, of course but because it's an S-Class job. I want you to do it."
"Yes, master! I will improve during this mission!"
"Haha, don't overdue yourself." He patted her head and walked away.
"Yes, master!"
Jiemma smirked. "That's right, little one.. go fetch."
Suddenly, Sting ran over and glared at Jiemma. "Why did you give her that job.?" he asked.
Jiemma smirked. "I thought the girl wanted to do it. She wanted to improve for her good, ol' master. You should reconsider her feelings you know. If the girl wants to do it, let the girl do it! She's strong, boy."
"I don't care how strong she is. Anything could happen to her!"
"It's not 'anything', son. It's 'nothing'. Nothing will happen to her. She's a cute little monster who despises a certain person. Did you here? If you set your mind on a goal, you will succeed. That's exactly what she's doing, so don't disturb her dream!"
"Her dream isn't to kill Natsu, and I know it!" Sting shouted. "That's my goal and no one can't copy me!"
"How would you know?!" Master shouted. "You can't listen everyone's minds and thoughts! Hah! You wish you could. Now, if you want to die, keep it up, before you end up in your own grave within five seconds. Trust me, it's that simple."
Sting froze for a bit before doing anything. Master sighed and patted his shoulder. "Good choice. I'll be leaving now."
He walked away, leaving Sting speechless. He stood for a bit before falling down. "Why, Lucy, why.."
