Hey guys MT here!

Well...looks like chapters are coming out on wednesdays from now on! JUST KIDDING!

I know I've been really off with the chapters and I REALLY am sorry I've just had a lot on my mind. I'm finally going to college and I have to work out all the scholarship and financial aid quirks on top of looking for a summer job. It's been hectic.

Anyways, I'm really happy you guys liked the festival idea and, although it didn't long, I may make similar chapters again in the future.

Well, enjoy this last festival chapter!

Chapter 26

"Haha! Who's the better boyfriend now, Kid, Soul?!" said Black*Star, triumphantly, as he pointed towards Tsubaki who was carrying almost fifteen small stuffed animals.

"Would you stop bragging? We came to have fun not have a contest," complained Soul, annoyed that Black*Star was trying to start a contest with him.

"Says the loser who only got his girlfriend two crappy dolls," said Black*Star, smirking at him.

"But I like them, they're cute," said Maka, not understanding Black*Star's need to win.

"I like mine, too. Who cares how many our men get us as long as we like the ones they got us," said Liz, also confused.

"Maybe if we ignore his stupidity he will quiet down," whispered Kid, causing Liz and Maka to giggle and Soul to chuckle.

"U-Um…can I please get some help?" asked Tsubaki, struggling to carry so many dolls.

"We'll help you-," said Maka, speaking for Liz as well, until she was interrupted.

"I got this! Here, babe, give me them and just hold on to the ones you like most," said Black*Star, actually being courteous to someone. Tsubaki handed him all the dolls and she scanned them before picking up a chameleon doll and deer doll before hugging them to her, contently. "See that?! I take care of my woman unlike the rest of you guys!"

"Can we just do some kind of quick contest and get this over with? This is starting to piss me off," said Soul, irritated.

"Go for it! I'll kick your asses at anything!" shouted Black*Star, irritating everyone except Tsubaki. Kid and Soul scanned around, wanting to find something they could do quickly and grinned when they found one of the quickest games in any festival.

"What about that one?" asked Kid, pointing to the game.

"The Strongman?" asked Maka. "Isn't that just a game to see who can hit the board hard enough to hit the bell? That's stupid."

"Male pride, Maka. Male pride," said Liz, rolling her eyes.

"Hell yes! Hope you guys weren't planning on beating me with that one!" shouted Black*Star, excited to show off his ridiculous strength. The group walked towards the game and the game master's attention was drawn to them.

"Hey, hey there kiddies! Wanna test out yer strength? Ooo, do we happen to have a triple date? Come on up, guys, and show off to yer women," said the game master who was a rather chubby man but was wearing a tank top and his muscles were plainly visible along his arms. "Oh, wait! Are you all from Shibusen by chance?"

"Yes, we are. Anything wrong?" asked Maka, wondering why he had asked.

"Ah, well, you noticed that there're two of these bell towers, right?" asked the game master, receiving nods from them. "Well, this one to ma right is the one for regular folk who ain't had any training. The one on my left, though, is for Shibusen folk and any folk wanting a challenge. We learned our lesson last time we came when even the Shibusen girls were hitting the top of the normal one."

"What's the difference?" asked Soul, not understanding what was more difficult about the other when they were the same height and shape.

"Ah, well, the one on my left has a weight of almost triple the regular one. Meaning yer gonna need a lot more strength to get it up the tower to hit the bell," explained the game master.

"A challenge! I'll go first, guys!" shouted Black*Star as he pushed people out of the way. He dumped all of the dolls in the hands of the game master and grabbed the large hammer, rubbing his hands together in preparation. The hammer was over his shoulder in a moment and he paused before swinging it back and smashing it into the board, the weight then launching up to hit the bell, leaving a small dent in it. "HAHAHAHA! EASY AS PIE!"

Black*Star proceeded to take the dolls from the gaping game master and begin mumbling praises to himself and prodding Tsubaki to see if she 'saw that'.

"Just ignore him, he's probably strong enough to run through a concrete wall like it was paper," said Soul as he walked up next, grabbing the hammer from the floor where Black*Star had tossed it. He moved it over the board and, slowly, moved it back and forth before putting it over his shoulder. "HAAAAAH!"

Soul shouted as he swung the hammer and smashed it into the board, forcing the weight high up the tower, only a few inches below the bell. Soul panted a bit and grinned in satisfaction. He handed the hammer to the game master who seemed impressed with his swing and Soul grinned at him before returning to Maka's side.

"Soul~," sung Maka before clinging to Soul's arm. "Since when did you get so strong, hm?"

"Well, a cool guy's gotta do what he can. Plus, fighting for my life against your dad's training helps a lot," said Soul, causing Maka to giggle at the last part. They shared a quick kiss and began to be lovey dovey while Black*Star grumbled behind them about it 'Not being as good as his'.

"What about you, Lord Death? You gonna try, too?" asked the game keeper, surprising Kid that he recognized him.

"You recognize me? From where? I was wearing the Shinigami mask when I met with your boss earlier," said Kid, surprised.

"Ya kidding me? Yer the first new 'Lord Death' in like 800 years. Your face is everywhere. Pretty sure an American magazine did a story on you," said the game master, causing Kid to groan. Kid wasn't much for popularity, especially because it allowed every enemy he could ever have to know his face. "Well, enough about that, yer turn, right?"

Kid nodded and took the hammer from him before pausing in front of the board. He looked up at the tower and almost sounded like he moaned.

"You alright, there?" asked the game master.

"Yes, forgive me. The tower is just so beautifully symmetrical. It's gor-," said Kid before gasping. They looked up to see what he was staring at and were confused when they didn't see it. "T-The bell! That dent Black*Star made is throwing off its symmetry! I must fix this!"

Everyone there sweat-dropped and Kid began to think about how he could hit the bell to make it symmetrical.

"I heard he loved symmetry but I didn't think it was an obsession," whispered the game master to Liz, receiving a sigh of agreement from her.

"You get used to it after awhile but it doesn't get any less annoying. You should see how in-the-way it gets when we're fighting," sighed Liz, causing Kid to turn around.

"Are you talking about me?" asked Kid, suspiciously.

"What? Why would we do that?" said Liz, sarcastically, eliciting an eye roll from Kid before he turned back to the tower.

It seemed he had figured out how to make it hit the bell to make it symmetrical and he had swung the hammer back over his shoulder, prepared to hit.

"Symmetry!" shouted Kid as if he was shouting some kind of battle cry. He smashed the hammer into the board, knocking the weight up along the tower, hitting the bell with enormous force. The bell snapped off the top and fell off behind the tower, leaving the tower perfectly symmetrical.

"W…Well at least he accomplished his goal," said Liz, embarrassed to no end. She turned to the game master and apologized, saying he would be sent a check to repair it later on.

"WHAT THE HELL?! HE HIT IT HARDER THAN ME?!" shouted Black*Star who began shouting and cursing about how it was impossible and that Kid had cheated or that he had loosened it up for him.

Ding Dong

The group ceased their antics when they heard the loud ringing which was over some speakers attached to the top of every stall.

'Hello all! We hope you are all having a GREAT time at the Axel-Darien Traveling Festival! We're coming on just to let you know that the firework show will be starting in twenty minutes and will best be visible from the Shibusen courtyard! Afterward, the festival will be finished, after all even our amazing shop keepers' need a break! Well, bye bye for now!' said a voice over the loud speaker.

"Soul, let's go and see the fireworks!" shouted Maka, excitedly.

"Yeah, let's go Kid! I haven't seen a good fireworks show in awhile!" said Liz as she made her way over to Kid.

"Alright, Maks, let's go. We're gonna go on ahead," said Soul as he took Maka's hand and the two began to walk towards Shibusen.

"Come on, Black*Star, Tsubaki. You both would enjoy it," said Kid, smiling towards his friends. Black*Star was about to bash Kid, still annoyed that he lost, until he noticed the small bit of excitement in Tsubaki's eyes, showing she wanted to see them, too.

"…Fine. I'll let you off the hook this time," said Black*Star before turning to Tsubaki. "C'mon, babe. You wanna see them too, right?"

Tsubaki nodded, happily, and Black*Star grinned at her before shifting the dolls to one arm and reaching out for her hand. The two, along with Kid and Liz, walked together to catch up with Maka and Soul.

The pair of couples had met up with Soul and Maka and everyone was sitting, together, on the steps in front of Shibusen's courtyard, waiting for the fireworks. Twenty minutes had passed since they had heard the announcement and people were slowly filling up the courtyard.

"It's so much darker without the moon," commented Maka, receiving hums in agreement from the rest of the group.

"I kind of miss it. It's kind of sad that we won't be able to see it again," said Tsubaki, longingly.

"Well, I don't know about you but an immortal Kishin for the moon seems like a pretty good trade if you ask me," said Soul, receiving 'yes's and laughs from the group.

"It's been so long since we've had fun like this, we just need Patti, Kilik, Harvar, Ox, Kim, and Jackie and the group will be together again," said Liz, smiling.

"We should have a party sometime, just to kick back and relax and have fun!" said Black*Star, enthusiastically. Before the conversations could continue, the announcer came back onto the speaker.

'Hello everyone! We at the Axel-Darien Traveling Festival would like to announce the magnificent, the fascinating, the Magical Imageworks Firework Show!' shouted the announcer.

Everyone in the courtyard watched as a single blast of light flew up into the air, reaching a certain point, very high up, before exploding in the sky, releasing red and pink in every direction.

The crowd 'Woah'ed and watched as another came up, this time blue and green. Then another and another, some of multiple colors, some were sparklers, a few were even images like a Shinigami mask or a soul. Everyone was amazed and each couple moved closer together as they watched the beautiful firework show.

Maka's attention was caught when she noticed Tsubaki and Black*Star had moved into a kiss and she turned to find Kid and Liz in a similar situation. She turned towards Soul, who was still watching the fireworks and smiled.

"Soul," she cooed, catching his attention. "Thanks for taking me on this date."

"What're you talking about, Maks? I'd do this and more to make you happy," said Soul, lovingly, as he took her hand.

"I love you," said Maka, lovingly, as she leaned towards him, aiming for a kiss.

"Me, too, Maks. Me, too," breathed Soul as he leaned towards her, their lips connecting. Behind them, they hadn't noticed a large, red firework, which had blown up in the shape of an enormous heart.

So? How was it?

Was it choppy? I feel like it might have been. I had to stop working on it twice to do other stuff so my idea flow got cut off a bit.

Review and let me know what you guys thought and any ideas or things to see in future chapters!

Until next time...byee :D
