"What did you say?" Jac asked, with thoughts spinning in her head.

"I think you heard me the first time…" Michael said, not looking at his wife in the eye.

Jac stood up and walked up to the sink, and washed her face with cold water. Silence filled the room.

"When did you get it done? Why?" Jac asked, calmly as she stood against the sink.

"It was around that time, when we broke up, the first time, remember? When Mason had meningitis? I was lost, lonely… I already lost one family, and then when I thought I lost you guys, I thought I just couldn't keep doing this, you know… so I thought this way, I'd be safe for it not to happen again…" Michael explained slowly, as he stood up and leaned against the other counter top across her.

"and you didn't care to mention this to me, at any point in our relationship?! You let me marry you, leaving out a piece of information like this! How do you think that makes me feel?!" she yelled.

"When I had it done, we were broken up, I didn't think we would get back together and if we did, I didn't think it would bother you… you're always into your work, I thought you'd be happy with just one child!" Michael defended his actions.

"it's not the point! The point is, that you lied to me all this time! I have spent months, trying to figure out why I couldn't get pregnant, I even managed to convince myself there was something physically wrong with me!" she yelled, as she moved her arms in mid-air.

"Wait… so you were actually trying to get pregnant, on purpose?! without telling me?!" Michael asked confused, as he stepped closer to her.

"No… well the thought crossed my mind and I just thought that we could sleep together on certain days of the month, rather than others… you didn't seem to complain about the frequent intercourse…" Jac said slowly.

"So… in other words you tricked me?!"

"It was the only way I could get pregnant, I thought that if I told you, you wouldn't want another child, which clearly you don't…"

"Right, so I'm like a sperm donor, yeah? and instead of using a test tube, we do it naturally!"

"No it was nothing like that, if I only wanted a sperm donor, I would have gone down to the sperm bank and got the job done, but I didn't do it. Because I don't want just any baby, I want your baby, I wanted to do it with you, because you're my husband and I love you!" Jac finally admitted her feelings.

Michael looked at her in the eye, amazed at her confession, but he had to add,

"You know, this is like when you had Mason, the story is repeating itself, you didn't tell me you were pregnant because you were scared I would've said I didn't want it…"

"Yeah but I'm right this time, aren't I? You didn't want another one, otherwise you wouldn't have gone through with the vasectomy!" Jac yelled.

"Look if it's what you want… I can get it reversed…" he offered as he stepped closer to her.

But Jac stepped back, "No it's not the point, the point is that you did it out of selfishness, you didn't care about what I would think about it, what I wanted, how would I feel…

"Listen Jac…" Michael tried to touch her.

"No, Michael stop…" she said, resisting his touch, "you know why I didn't get a termination, when I found out I was pregnant with our son?"

"Because you were on your own, and you thought it was your only chance to have a child?" he tried to answer.

"Apart from that…. Because I didn't regret sleeping with you… back in Florida, when you first came on to me, I thought I was stupid to give in, but the reality was, I loved it, I didn't regret any second of it, because I loved you from the start," she explained, looking him in the eye,

"I couldn't believe I was pregnant at first, I did like 4 home tests which all came back positive, I even did a blood test to be sure, and then when I had to accept the reality that I was, I wasn't sure if that was what I wanted at the time… but then I thought 'How could I get rid of it? How could I get rid of the product of something beautiful we shared?' even though, I thought I was going to do it on my own…but I was a fool, I was a fool to think you had changed. The reality is you didn't..." she added, with tears in her eyes.

Michael was touched by her speech, but he was still hurt by her act of deceit.

"You're lecturing me about not changing? Can you hear yourself? As far as I recall, you tricked me so you could get pregnant, and led me to believe that you were on birth control, when you were lying all this time! And I'm the one who hasn't changed?! See this is what you do, you don't stop until you get what you want, you manipulate, you lie, you scheme, not caring about anyone else in the way… I was more than a fool you were, to trust you, because you still are the same manipulative bitch, you were years ago!" he said, straight and plain in her face.

"How dare you call me that?!" she said as she slapped him across his face, crying, "after everything I've been through? I gave up everything for you?! my freedom, my working hours, because of Mason… and you think, I haven't changed?! Well I'll get out of the way for you… I want a divorce!" she blurted out, in tears, as she turned to walk away.

"No, Jac wait, you don't mean it…" Michael took hold of her arm, and pulled her whole body closer to him, wrapping his arms around her so she couldn't walk out of the room.

"Yes I do! But oh look on the bright side, our marriage lasted longer than Kim Kardashian's! Now get off me!" she yelled as she tried to remove his hands off her body.

"No, I didn't mean to say that, but you are picturing me as the bad guy here, when in reality we're both to blame in this!" he told her, as he turned her around.

"exactly, we both are, we are as bad as each other… which is why we are never going to work… we had something good going, but every time something happens to mess it up, we've been going around in circles, get together, break up, get together again, break up again… we can't do this anymore…" she said crying, as she turned around, and let go of his embrace.

"No Jac wait…" Michael followed her down the hall. But Jac stopped in front of the front door.

"No, what you said to me was unforgiveable…" Jac said, as she opened the door, "now get out! Before I throw you out myself" she tried to hold back the tears.

Michael tried to reach out to her, "Jac please!" he pleaded.

"I said, get out!" she raised her voice.

Michael without saying another word, stepped outside, in the dark night, and Jac shut the door behind him. Michael stood on the doorstep, unsure of what this means, while Jac slid down to the floor against the door, crying her eyes out.
