Ivan and co enter the Weird-looking structure, a.k.a. Esto Gaza. They run into the building and Ivan looks around; only one person is in the entire place, and that person is in front of the group.
"What do you beggars want?" Bishop asks.
Arthur trips and falls.
"Again?! I thought I was over this" Arthur says.
Apparently not.
"You are in a holy place. Keep the noise down. Hmph! Just like the other pointy-hats! No manners at all" Bishop says.
"Hey, mister, what did you just say? Have you seen some guys that look like my friend here?" Ivan asks.
"How dare you address me so! I am the priest of Esto Gaza, the holy place in which you stand. Mind your tongue, child. Are you in league with that brazen crew?" Bishop asks.
"Tell me where they went! Was there a little boy with them? My friend's life is in danger! Tell me what you know, now!"
"All life is equal. The living will return to the stars. Through the Path of Souls on the Shimmering Island"
"What are you talking about? Did the black mages have a boy with them?"
"How dare a man of the cloth turn a blind eye to evil!" Ludwig says.
"I just watched them. Besides, they didn't do anything wrong" Bishop says.
-Flashback-
A young boy jumps around frantically; his mother comes on, and drags him away. The bishop watches on as tons of black mages appear, walking in a straight line, then away.
"They barged in, hundreds of them! So, that was the dreaded black mage army... they headed straight for Mount Gulug without even looking at me" Bishop tells Ivan.
"Mount Gulug?" Ivan asks.
"An enormous volcano that went extinct in the days of old. Legend has it that a race of great moles lived within the caverns. But that was very long ago. No mortal has entered those depths ever since the entrance was mysteriously sealed"
The flood of black mages stop. A black mage carrying Im Yong Soo, followed by Zorn, Thorn and Kuja, go where the others went.
-Flashback end-
"They passed through here and went straight to Mount Gulug" Bishop says.
"And? What about the boy?" Ivan asks.
"Oh, yes. One of the black mages carried a little boy, too"
"That has to be Im Yong Soo!" Arthur says.
"Well, now we know! We have to get to Mount Gulug!" Ivan says.
"I'm going, too! I think everyone will understand"
"Da. They cannot let Kuja control them forever!"
Yao steps forward.
"You wish to come too?" Ivan asks, Yao nods, "very well, stay close" Yao nods again.
"Then the hero should come too!" Alfred says.
"If you must" Ivan sighs.
They head to Mount Gulug.
Ivan, Arthur, Yao and Alfred descend the Volcano village, running into some Red Dragons along the way. Eventually, they make their way above a room, where they peer down.
"Ivan, it's Im Yong Soo! Kuja and the black mages are also there!" Arthur says.
"Im Yong Soo... you need a shorter name. That must be the extraction spell!" Ivan says.
Down in the room. Im Yong Soo is lying down; Zorn and Thorn are performing the spell.
"Eidolon of eternal life!" Zorn says.
"Eidolon of infinite powers!" Thorn says.
"Arise from thy eternal slumber!"
"Depart after thy endless wait!"
"Let there be light!"
"Let there be life!"
Im Yong Soo floats in the air; red particles of energy lift from his body.
"The time has come!" Zorn says.
"The time is now!" Thorn says.
Back above, Ivan, Arthur, Yao and Alfred are looking down on the events as they happen. Yao is about to run down and stop them himself.
"W-wait, Yao-Yao!" Ivan calls and Yao stops, "we all know how you feel, Yao-Yao, so leave this to us... okay?"
Yao he nods.
"Come on, let us do it!" Ivan says.
Ivan, Arthur, Yao and Alfred enter a doorway and begin their descent to where the extraction is occuring.
Back to the extraction place. Im Yong Soo is on the ground, Zorn and Thorn standing in front of him, and Kuja and the black mages in the background.
"That was odd" Zorn says.
"Odd, that was" Thorn says.
"We failed again!"
"Again we have failed!"
"Did you make some mistake?"
"Make mistake, I did not! Yours, the mistake must be!"
"I made no mistake at all!"
"The truth, do you speak?"
Kuja walks up to them.
"Of course, I speak the truth!" Zorn says.
"Will you two just shut up!?" Kuja snaps.
"I-It's his fault!" Zorn says.
"H-His fault, it is! The one who messed up is you!" Thorn says.
"You're the one who messed up!"
"I said shut up! I don't want to hear excuses! I sense power from within him. Continue the extraction!" Kuja orders.
"Continuing further will endanger the subject's life!" Zorn warns.
"Only at the age of sixteen can eidolons be extracted!" Thorn says.
Kuja
"You two just don't get it! I need an eidolon more powerful than Alexander! An eidolon with the power to bury Garland! His powers are so incredible; I cannot even come close. I must destroy him before Terra's plan is activated, or my soul will no longer be my own!" Who cares if he lives? I want that eidolon!" Kuja yells.
Kuja walks back to where he was standing before. Zorn and Thorn turn around and approach Im Yong Soo; Mog jumps out of his dress and startles them.
"Kupo!" Mog yells.
"Where did that come from?" Zorn asks.
"You, get out of our way!" Thorn orders.
Zorn and Thorn turn to face Kuja, "master!"
"Well!?" Kuja asks.
"Kupo...!" Mog says.
"His pet moogle is interfering with the extraction process!" Zorn says.
"Certain are we that it caused the failure!" Thorn says.
"Kill the runt! We're running out of time!" Kuja orders.
"Kupo...!" Mog says.
Im Yong Soo wakes up, "Mog... no, Mog. Hide behind me... Mog? What is it?"
"Im Yong Soo, thank you for everything" Mog says.
"Mog, what are you saying?"
Sparkles of green and blue energy begin to get charged to Mog.
"Don't worry, kupo. I will always be with you, kupo" Mog says.
Ivan, Arthur, Yao and Alfred run down the stairs to the room.
"Mog!" Im Yong Soo yells.
"This way!?" Ivan calls but a bright white flash prevents him from entering the room, "woah! I say that a lot"
Back to Im Yong Soo, Mog, Zorn and Thorn. Kuja and the black mages have long since walked away.
"Mog!" Im Yong Soo calls.
Mog is now shining bright blue; you can't even see her body anymore.
"We will put you to death!" Zorn says.
"Put you to death, we will!" Thorn says.
Zorn and Thorn attack Im Yong Soo. Before they attack him he hears Mog speak to him.
"Im Yong Soo! Use Terra Homing, kupo!" Mog says.
"Okay!" Im Yong Soo says.
Im Yong Soo summons Terra Homing. A gigantic beats absolutely annihilates Zorn and Thorn. They fall down, defeated.
"I wanted to be by your side, Im Yong Soo... so I became Mog. Don't worry. I'll always watch over you, kupo" Mog says.
Ivan approaches Zorn and Thorn's fallen bodies.
"Im Yong Soo, are you okay?" Ivan asks.
"I'm alright. Mog saved me... I never knew that Mog was an eidolon. She always looked after me... disguised as a moogle. Even though... even though she was weak... she fought her best to protect me" Im Yong Soo says.
"So that is what happened..."
A green light descends from above, transforming into Mog's Ribbon, which Im Yong Soo catches in his hands.
"Mog's ribbon... Mog..." Im Yong Soo receives Ribbon!
"It is alright, Im Yong Soo. Mog will always watch over you" Ivan says.
"You're right..." Im Yong Soo says.
"How can that-"
Everyone turns around to see Kuja walking towards them.
"That moogle went into a Trance!?" Kuja says.
"Kuja!" Ivan growls.
"So...an eruption of anger against one's surroundings induces a complete Trance! It's not the will to live, nor is it the desire to protect another!"
"Man, you are really going off! Hello!?"
"That means...I simply need a powerful soul, even if that soul is not my own! No, wait... and it can be found there! Hahahaha!"
"Kuja! What are you plotting?"
"I am done with you!"
"Wait a minute!" Arthur calls.
Arthur runs forward. Kuja does a quick energy blast, knocking him back, and jolting Zorn and Thorn's bodies as well.
"Arthur! Look out!" Ivan says.
"Don't worry, I hear these twins put on quite a good show. Of course, they're really not twins at all..." Kuja says.
"Wait! What about the black mages?" Arthur follows Kuja.
"No, Arthur! It is too dangerous!" Ivan yells.
Ivan runs after him, but is knocked back by a burst of energy from Zorn and Thorn's bodies.
"Ivan, something's wrong" Im Yong Soo says.
"I thought we defeated them!" Ivan says.
Their bodies lift in the air, and begin to join. Meltigemini attacks Ivan and Im Yong Soo but is kicked back by Yao. The muted prince single handedly defeats Meltigemini. After it's defeat Ivan and Im Yong Soo are standing in the middle of the room in front of Yao; Arthur walks back along with two black mages.
"Arthur, where's Kuja? Did he get away!?" Ivan asks, "Arthur?"
Arthur shakes his head, "everyone knew he was lying... but they still followed him. He said that their life spans can't be extended, and that they were fools for believing him"
"What!? Kuja said that?" Ivan asks.
"I-I'm so sorry... for all I've done..." Black Mage No. 78 says.
"You guys don't have to apologize. Where are the others?"
"They were so shocked to hear it, they're all sitting down over there. Ivan! What am I supposed to tell them!?" Arthur asks.
"Arthur..." Ivan says, the two black mages walk away. Vivi follows them]
"It's nothing... I'll let them think things over, I'm sure they'll find an answer on their own"
"That bastard! When I get my hands on him-" Ivan growls
"Pardon me, but is someone there?" a woman asks.
Ivan runs in the direction of her voice, and opens the door. In the next room, a woman is standing, with a bed behind her. She's garbed in a chic white flowing dress. Ivan walks in, followed by Arthur, Yao and Im Yong Soo.
"Who might you be? Where has that...Kuja gone?" the woman asks.
"Oh, him. He split, lady" Ivan says.
"What? You chased him away? I know not who you are, but you have my sincere gratitude."
Yao seems to recognises her.
"Could this be...Prince Yao? Why it is! It is you!" the woman says.
Yao nods.
"Oh, how long it has been! I haven't seen Your Highness in ages! Why, look how you've grown... so, whatever brought you to this dreadful place?" the woman asks.
"Who is this lady? What is a friend of yours doing here, anyway?" Ivan asks.
Regent Cid enters the room, "oh! My darling ribbit Hilda! I finally found you ribbit!" he hops up to her.
Hilda turns around, "I do not remember ever marrying a toad"
"If you kiss him he won't look like a toad anymore" Im Yong Soo says, Yao elbows him in the side, "ow"
"I-It's me ribbit! Cid!" Regent Cid says.
Hilda turns around and looks at him, "of course, that moustache... It really is you!"
"Hilda, come back to the castle ribbit and return me to my former self ribbit!"
"Dreadfully sorry, my sugar cup, but I surrendered your favourite airship to a man named Kuja"
"Forget about it ribbit! As long as you're alright ribbit!"
"Oh, my sweet froggy-woggy!"
"So, uhh... you know Kuja? I'm gonna make him pay! Please tell me all about him!" Im Yong Soo begs.
"Very well, my dear. I shall tell you everything once we reach Lindblum" Hilda says.
