Papa, Who's Mama? Chapter 26:
Papa, Who's Mama? Chapter 26:
Harry whistled "Three Little Birds" by a certain brilliant jamaican muggle as he breezed through the hallways and stairs, up to his room. He touched the face of the mother who was holding her children and the statue moved to reveal an open door. Harry sat in Davion's favorite navy blue recliner and sighed with relief.
"Accio Earl Gray He half said, half yawned. A cup of Earl Gray started tapping on his head annoyingly as Harry zoned out. He rolled his eyes and clutched the handle to relieve the magic of its responsibility.
Overall, Harry thought it was a great day. Actually, it was an amazing day. The feast was amazing, as per usual. The company was revitalizing, bringing him back to his own days at Hogwarts. And, for the first time in probably over a decade, people outside of his family made him smile, laugh even. The seemingly impossible was actualizing itself. There was nothing to worry about.
'Except for this morning...' A voice suggested in his head.
Harry rolled his eyes, annoyed by the thought. Harry felt he had every bloody reason to slap that bastard silly. He was picking on children.
'Great observation, Harry, it's not as if that's new.'
Harry frowned. He didn't need the sarcasm, even from himself. He knew that Sev-
'Snape's.' Harry corrected himself.
Snape's attitude towards children, especially first-years, was unorthodox and ridiculous, this was nothing new. However, he hasn't even seen their potential in potions. Has not even called their name on a roster.
'Wait...only muggle schools do that.'
But still, the point still stood. He didn't know his children.
'Their children.' A voice again corrected. He frowned again. Harry was regretting his previous thoughts about the possibility of allowing Severus into their lives. He was a little bitch.
'Or, perhaps, you're being an overly emotional one.'
"Overly emotional my arse." He hissed into his tea before he took a sip.
"Excuse me, Mr. Weasley," A stern voice interrupted from behind him. "Last time I checked only psychotics talked to themselves. Not Hogwarts professors."
Harry spit up his tea and started coughing, choking on his surprise.
"WHAT THE BLOODY HELL ARE YOU DOING IN MY ROOMS?!"
Severus rolled his beautiful eyes.
'No, not beautiful.' Harry rebuttled against himself.
"The door," Snape gestured. "Is open."
Harry glared at the open door and saw that it was, indeed, open. He blushed and turned his head to hide it.
"What do you-"
"Pa- I mean, Professor Weasley…" Davion shly started. Harry looked at his son. He'd been too shocked my Snape's presence that he hadn't noticed Davion shly in the corner. Harry's eyebrows furrowed. Harry knew when his son had done something wrong or mischievous. He had the same attitude as...well. Harry looked at Snape.
"What did he do?" Harry asked, somewhat nicer now that he knew that Snape was not there to annoy the living crap out of him and actual, to a degree, doing his job.
"It is not my job to repeat crimes." Severus sneered, and looked at Davion.
"They were picking on 'Celia!" Davion growled defensively. "I couldn't just stand there!"
Harry got out of the navy blue recliner and walked over to his son, putting a hand on his shoulder. His son knew to look him in the eyes when he did so. "I don't think you were asked what they did, Davion Tiassale Potter. I believe you were asked what you did."
"I-I-I...I fought." Davion's eyes retreated back to the floor.
"Whom?" Harry asked, calmly.
"A couple boys. They were picking on 'Celia. They were calling her names. She wasn't doing nothin' so I figured I should help."
Harry sighed. "Davion, your sister is a young woman who is perfectly capable of taking care of herself. I respect your chivalry, but it was misplaced and idiotic. Fighting with your hands is not something that will receive any reward. Do you understand?"
"B-b-but!" Davion insisted.
"No. No 'but'. You were wrong, Davion Potter. You should have went to get Professor Snape." Harry gestured towards the tall figure on his left. "Or another nearby teacher. It is their jobs to deal with misconduct, not yours. Now, I want you to go on with your day and, in your spare time, write a letter of apology. It will be due tomorrow and, if Professor Snape," Harry glanced at Snape to ask, "would allow, you will apologize in person to these boys in his office."
Snape nodded once. Harry returned back to his child.
"And you will be punished, either by detention or by me, that will be decided later on. Now go." Harry gestured towards the door. Davion rolled his eyes and huffed out the door, slamming it as he went out.
Harry and Snape stood there for a second. Harry sighed.
"I hate playing both roles." He mumbled to himself.
"I think you handled that quite well, Potter." Snape nodded, a slight smirk of amusement.
Harry chuckled. "Weasley. And that doesn't make it any less difficult, Snape." Harry moved towards the kitchen. "Would you like a cup of tea? It's the very least I owe you after dealing with my fiery children."
"Gray would be fine." Snape nodded, moving to a seat on the couch. "Bl-,"
"Black. Three cubes of sugar and honey." Harry stated as he reached for a cup.
Snape's eyebrows arched. "Have you served me tea before?" There was a layer of mistrust in the question. Harry inwardly smacked himself.
'You're not supposed to know that. He's not...' Harry shook his head.
"I apologize." He said, composing himself and getting out the teapot, filling it with water. "I believe I remember overhearing Minerva once and remember finding it funny that you had a sweet tooth."
"I see." He stated simply.
Harry prepared the tea quietly, feeling his movements being monitored. Harry crushed down the butterflies that were building up in his stomach. It had been years since he'd been alone in a room with the man. It had been what felt like milenna since he made Severus tea. He smiled sadly.
'Snape.' He corrected.
Harry stirred the confections into the tea and brought the cup to Snape.
"Thank You." He said, after sniffing it.
Harry held back a chuckle. He had forgotten that he did that.
"Why are you smiling, Pot- Weasley?"
"Oh, nothing. Just you reminded me of something." Harry shook it off. "Are the children okay?"
"Not in need of Madame Pomfery, but surprisingly shaken." Snape sipped the tea. Harry thought he imagined a little smirk of happiness, and it made his insides glow, which he quickly denied.
"That's good. I can't be there for the meeting with the boys, but would you mind telling me how it goes?"
Snape nodded and they sipped tea silently.
Harry watched Snape. He saw the red mark on his cheek, which surprised Harry. He'd forgotten for a minute that he was angry. He'd forgotten that he had slapped Severus earlier today.
"Professor Snape…" Harry started as he set down his cup of tea.
"Severus." Snape corrected.
"What?" Harry said, drawn back.
Snape looked Harry in the eyes, "My name is Severus. Your name is Ron. We are professionals. In reflection of my words earlier this morning, and in observing your conversation with your child, I realize I was out of bounds. This probably, no, wasn't easy for you. To come back was probably the hardest decision you've had to make."
Harry sputtered, shocked "H-h-how do you…?"
"I may have suffered my fair set of injuries in the war, however, that didn't impair my ability to read. I know the press and people were at your throat. You've suffered your fair share. You had your children to protect. I apologize for my passive aggressive, childish behavior."
"B-b-but...I'm the one that slapped you."
Snape smirked. "Yes, you did."
'Such a sexy smirk' A voice purred. Harry growled at the thought.
"I apologize for my overreaction...slapping you, I mean, was me overreacting. I was being an overly offended father, and didn't think before I lurched."
"Much like a mother tigress." Snape agreed as he stood up, placing the cup on the table. "But your actions are forgiven if you forgive my words."
Harry looked up at Snape and nodded. "Well, then thank you for the tea. I will meet with you tomorrow night."
Harry raised an eyebrow. Butterflies returning.
"To go over Davion and his punishment." Severus cleared.
Harry shook his emotions out of it and nodded. "Yes, tomorrow. Goodnight Snape."
"Severus." He corrected. "Goodnight Ron." He made his way to the door, his black robes billowing as he left. Harry sighed back into his recliner and looked at the clock. He forgot, Hagrid.
Hope you guys enjoyed the chapter. Sorry it's been so long. There has been a lot of family issues/jobs/school. So I apologize for disappointing you. Hopefully I didn't this time and won't in the future. You guys are great. I love all of your support.
Thanks again~
