Chapter 26
All the next day Dumbledore managed to arrange a coffin with nothing inside and it would be a closed lid for the small gathering.
There would only be members of the order there. It was going to be held in the great hall of the castle and then a buffet for after.
It would be next Thursday morning and wasn't at all surprised to see Voldemort again whom wanted to know the details and might show up to the service. And Dumbledore knew a fight was brewing but he just had to wait till the moment came he thought as he sat putting together the final details.
He had forgotten what day it was as so much had happened that he had lost count. Looking at his paper he was it was Sunday. Frowning he wondered where the time passes and wondered what Harry was doing at the moment.
There was a meeting with the order tonight about the funeral and wake after words and about Voldemort. And he did not mention that he might show up to the service.
A few hours later it would be lunch time and he didn't feel hungry but he stopped what he was doing and went to the great hall and tried to force the soup down as it felt like sand paper in his mouth.
He was keeping a close eye on the other students in case they would give anything away. But he didn't think they would as it was important that things went as planned so he could rope Harry into destroying Voldemort.
After lunch, he made his way to the funeral place where he would be choosing the coffin and spoke with the person in charge when he saw Voldemort again as he stood in the door way with his wand raised.
"I want proof that Harry is dead" he said coming into the room.
"Have you been following me?" Dumbledore asked irritated.
"Yes" hissed Voldemort standing close.
"Is this the one?" he asked touching the closed brown coffin.
"Open it" he ordered the man.
"I don't think that is a good idea" he said bracing himself for a fight.
Following his orders the man unscrewed the lid and Dumbledore got a shock to see Harry lying peacefully in his Gryffindor robes.
His hands were shaking as he reached out touching his neck to feel for a pulse and when he found none he gasped, clearly out of sorts and Voldemort gave a hiss of triumph and backed off.
There was nothing in the coffin a few minutes he thought as he touched, Harry's cold face. He didn't move at all and that worried Dumbledore as he stood staring at his unmoving face.
Sighing inwardly, he heard Voldemort laughing as he left the room and Dumbledore hoped this was some sort of nasty trick someone was playing as he closed the coffin.
He then opened it again to see, Harry still there and felt a cold chill running down his spine as he closed it again.
Once the man closed the coffin, the man wordlessly left the room to his office and Dumbledore thought of something…"Harry?" he called.
