Author's Note: So I have a vision for this fan-fiction, which I've had all along, but I think I'm going to separate it into two parts. I was thinking of finishing this story within a chapter or two and starting up a sequel for when Jude is 18. I know Jude and Tom are really frustrating and the sequel will most likely be just as frustrating, but it's Jude and Tommy and it suits them. I'm forever a jommy fan and there will always be fluffy moments, but there's no point in a full on fluff story.
Chapter Twenty-Six: Summertime Sadness Part 2
Tom walked into G Major LA the next day with his head hung. The bags beneath his eyes were just as visible as his awful mood. When he entered the studio where Mason sat he didn't speak a word, he just slumped into a chair. Mason looked up from his guitar beyond the sound booth to see Tom's state. He sure didn't look like a guy who wanted his girlfriend to run off. Putting his guitar down Mason decided to talk to Tom about everything.
"Have you talked to Jude since she left?" Mason questioned meekly knowing the answer was no, considering he was texting Jude all last night.
Tom shook his head, "I broke my phone and apparently house phones don't exist anymore."
"You can use my phone," Mason offered while taking a seat next to him.
"What's the point Mason? She left all on her own." Tom sighed placing his head into his hands and his elbows on the soundboard.
Mason's face squinted as he tilted his head in confusion, "She left because she said you wanted her to."
Tom groaned even louder and picked his head up, "That's not what I meant. I was just angry; I didn't think she'd go back! I thought she'd at least wait to talk about it."
"Go to her!" Mason exclaimed knowing this would be the best idea, "You need to before it's too late and you've both lost hope."
"Mason I have a contract here. I'm obligated for two months." Tom muttered with a hint of sadness.
Mason's head perked up with a giant smile on his face, "OR until I feel your services are no longer needed." Tom felt a rush of hope run through his body as he looked to Mason in excitement, "As much as I love working with one of the top producers out there I really don't think you're needed anymore. I mean I'm sure Frank could finish the last two tracks."
Tom stood up ecstatically, "You're really doing this for me?"
"I'm doing this for the sake of love." Mason declared as the two men stood up, "Now go win her back!"
"I'll keep in touch!" Tom shouted as he began his sprint to get out of G Major LA as fast as possible. The next flight to Canada Tom would be on; he was determined to make things work. There was no more hesitation, no more waiting around, no more fucking up, and no more secrets left. This was their time he was convinced.
Jude entered G Major and everyone was staring at her. They all knew she was back a few weeks early with no Tom by her side and the way gossip spread, it was apparent something went horribly wrong. There was a heavy pressure in her chest that Jude could only describe as an actual heartbreak. She hadn't been able to sleep at all; her thoughts were flooded with all the memories of how amazing LA was until the fight. Lucky for her music career it had led to a new song. She stepped into the studio where Kwest was sitting sipping coffee.
Kwest turned his attention to Jude, "You didn't have to come in today Blondie."
"I know, but I have a new song and I only need one more song to complete the album." Jude yanked her journal out of her bag before letting it drop to the ground.
"Sticking with the old vibes right?" Kwest questioned as Jude relaxed in the chair beside him.
"Of course. I'm thinking an emphasized drum beat and some sort of string instrument other than a bass." Jude stated as she read over her lyrics.
Kwest nodded taking in her input, "Sing to me the melody and we will start working on a beat."
Jude had come to the studio at 10am that morning and it was now reaching midnight. They had begun getting ready to record her vocal tracks. Once the pair started working on the beat they got carried away and vowed to not leave until the song was finished. There was no doubt this was one of the best pieces on her album.
Tom had been able to use a G Major private jet for his travel back, which was a relief because he was too anxious to wait around. He had taken a taxi home and didn't hesitate throwing his bags on the front porch before running to Jude's. He knew it had been midnight, but he didn't care. He needed to see Jude. His heart was racing by the time he reached her front door. Taking a deep breath his finger pressed the doorbell. Impatiently he fiddled with his hands waiting for the door to open.
"Tom what're you doing here?"
"Sadie! Where's Jude?" Tom asked anxiously.
"She's at the studio, aren't you supposed to be in LA?" Sadie crossed her arms staring at Tom.
"I got released by the artist, I uh, I need to fix things with Jude." Tom spoke nervously while scratching the back of his neck.
Sadie let out a sigh of relief, "I knew you wouldn't just let her go like that! I'm coming with."
"Let's go!" Tom excited as Sadie threw on a pair of sandals and rushed out the door to follow him to his garage.
Back at the studio Jude positioned herself in front of the microphone. She held her hands to the headphones and nodded her head to Kwest letting him know she was ready. Under Jude's command the music began.
Kiss me hard before you go
Summertime sadness
I just wanted you to know
That, baby, you're the best
I got my red dress on tonight
Dancing in the dark in the pale moonlight
Done my hair up real big beauty queen style
High heels off, I'm feeling alive
As upset and hurt as she was by the way it had ended, Tom still had her heart completely even if it was in pieces. He had still brought her so much joy and happiness that she could never forget. Jude reflected on their first night out in LA and how she felt on top of the world by his side. Nothing and no one could take away her memories because at that moment that's all she felt was left of the two.
Oh, my God, I feel it in the air
Telephone wires above are sizzling like a snare
Honey, I'm on fire, I feel it everywhere
Nothing scares me anymore

Sadie and Tom just arrived in the G Major parking lot and his excitement to see Jude was building. There were some worries that he would not be warmly accepted into her arms, but he knew he would get her back even if there had to be a small fight involved. Tom knew he had completely overreacted to Jude's eagerness to be apart of his family and he knew he had a lot of sucking up to do for the rude things said.
Kiss me hard before you go
Summertime sadness
I just wanted you to know
That, baby, you're the best
I've got that summertime, summertime sadness
S-s-summertime, summertime sadness
Got that summertime, summertime sadness
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Walking through the doors was a rush, as he knew he was that much closer to see the love of his life. Tom's pace was quick as he headed towards Studio A. The sweet melody just barely escaped the doors. Him and Sadie entered just in time to hear some of her latest song. His heart immediately warmed up as soon as he saw Jude's golden locks down her face. She hadn't seen him just yet though; her head was down the entire song.
I'm feelin' electric tonight
Cruising down the coast goin' 'bout 99
Got my bad baby by my heavenly side
I know if I go, I'll die happy tonight
Oh, my God, I feel it in the air
Telephone wires above are sizzling like a snare
Honey, I'm on fire, I feel it everywhere
Nothing scares me anymore
(1, 2, 3, 4)
Kiss me hard before you go
Summertime sadness
I just wanted you to know
That, baby, you're the best
I've got that summertime, summertime sadness
S-s-summertime, summertime sadness
Got that summertime, summertime sadness
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
I think I'll miss you forever
Like the stars miss the sun in the morning sky
Later's better than never
Even if you're gone I'm gonna drive (drive, drive)
I've got that summertime, summertime sadness
S-s-summertime, summertime sadness
Got that summertime, summertime sadness
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Kwest had noticed who entered the studio and smile escaped his lips, "I was wondering when you'd show up."
Tom shrugged, "It's not exactly a car drive away man."
Just then Jude finally picked her head up and her eyes met his blue orbs. She felt electricity race through her body and when his lips curved into a grin she almost melted. Her emotion came out even further as she sang the last bit of the lyrics to him especially.
Kiss me hard before you go
Summertime sadness
I just wanted you to know
That, baby, you're the best
I've got that summertime, summertime sadness
S-s-summertime, summertime sadness
Got that summertime, summertime sadness
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Jude pinched herself walking towards the sound booth doors, almost not believing who was standing there. He had really come all this way within a day of her leaving. How could she even possibly think of being mad over anything that happened? Both of them cautiously stepped towards each other as she exited the recording area. Kwest and Sadie smiled at one another watching as the couple approached.
"Quincy what're you doing here I thought that-"
Tom cut Jude off with his lips crashing to hers. Her body sunk into his embrace and his hand got wrapped up in her hair as the kiss deepened. Breathlessly he pulled away still cradling her head, "I had to come back Jude. I had to fix this. I never meant for you to leave."
Jude kissed his lips again taking in the moment, "I'm so sorry for leaving."
"I'm sorry for making you feel like you had to." Their bodies met again in a deep embrace. He took in her scent and how amazing it felt to be wrapped her fragile arms. Jude felt so relieved, "We just need to communicate better."
Jude laughed lightly pulling away as happy tears ran down her face, "Yeah we sorta suck at that."
Tom was smiling as he wiped away the moistness beneath her eyes, "Stop crying Harrison. I'm here now and neither of us are going anywhere. Got it?"
"Got it." Jude beamed as she hugged him one more time, "I love you."
"I love you too baby girl," Tom whispered against her ears.
Suddenly loud claps came from Kwest and Sadie and the couple faced their obnoxious behavior. Jude rolled her eyes as she went to Sadie and nudged her playfully, "Hey I'm sorry, that was just so romantic!"
Jude giggled and faced Tom, "Yeah, Tom has this whole sweeping me off my feet affect."
"It feels like just yesterday I met you prancing around in one of Tom's shirt in his kitchen." Kwest chuckled as he looked back at the beginning of their relationship never thinking it'd lead to where it is now; Tom madly in love.
"Who would've thought it'd come this far." Jude added as she felt Tom's arm wrap around her.
Tom shrugged before kissing Jude's cheek, "I think I always knew deep down."
"Really really deep down." Jude laughed as her head rested against his shoulder.
Tom Quincy was her first love, and undeniably she knew he was her best love, and hopefully her very last one too.
