She huffed as she forced herself up, and made her way to the bathroom.
She was coming up on four months now, which anyone could clearly tell now.
"Brian!" She called from the bathroom.
"Yeah babe" he said walking in rubbing the sleep from his eyes.
"Thanks again for sleeping on the couch...If it makes you feel any better...I still didn't get much sleep" He smiled and kissed her head.
She went in the kitchen,after brushing her teeth, to fix breakfast.
Jeremy ran in. "Good morning mom" He said kissing her stomach before going to sit down.
"Good morning baby" She said before sitting his plate in front of him.
"Mom daddy said I can go to work with him today because he has desk duty" Brian walked in.
"And miss school?" She asked turning to him.
"Babe its just for a day...and besides he graduates in a couple of weeks" Brian said ruffing his hair. "Just a little something to congratulate him"
She smiled. "Sit down babe" Brian said ushering her into a seat.
She sat down next to Jeremy. "Put me four pancakes on there, and strawberries and whipped cream please" He smiled and did as she said.
"Out again today?"
"Yeah...I guess there is a good side to stepping down from commanding officer of the squad...way more vacation days"
Brian and Jeremy got ready to leave.
"Baby on your lunch break can you get me something from that bakery I like...I woke up with a taste for it"
"Sure" He said pulling her in his arms.
"And maybe you guys could stay for lunch"
"No We'll take you out" He said kissing her.
Jeremy hugged her goodbye then they left.
Olivia went to go get Ben. The phone rang.
"Hello?"
"Hey Liv mind if I swing by?"
"No but dont you have to work?"
"Yeah...later"
"Okay see you when you get here"
She fed Ben then sat on the couch and waited for him. He walked in with a box a donuts in hand.
Olivia's face fell.
"What? you don't like donuts any more?"
"Yeah...its just I feel so fat" She admitted.
He chuckled and sat down next to her, picking Ben up in his arms.
"Liv your pregnant...and eating for three"
"I know, but maybe I'll go to the gym" He laughed lightly.
"Why are you laughing?"
He chuckled again.
"Olivia I'm being honest when I say you look absolutely gorgeous...pregnancy suits you"
She rolled her eyes. Nick turned his attention to Ben.
"Hey little man" He kissed her cheek. He played with him for a bit then he had to leave.
There was a knock again. She opened the door to see David standing there.
"David" She said surprised.
"You said to come over today I could see Jeremy" He nervously replied back.
"Oh yeah...I'm sorry I forgot...David come in" She said stepping to let him in.
"Wow your bigger from the last time I saw you...it was only a couple weeks ago" She scolded him playfully. "No I didn't mean it like that"
She chuckled "let me call Brian".
She went to the kitchen and called Brian.
She walked back into the living room.
"He's going to order takeout so you can eat with us" David nodded.
Brian and Jeremy walked in with a bag full of food.
He ran to her. "Hey mommy" Brian walked in and pulled her into a hug and kissed her cheek.
"Hi Brian...hey Jeremy" David greeted them as he stuck out his hand.
Jeremy hit casually. "Hi David"
Brian shook his hand.
They sat at the table and ate, David talked to Jeremy.
"So Jeremy, you graduate in a couple weeks, kindergarten...exciting isn't it"
"Yeah...but I'll get more homework and that blows" He said nonchalantly.
"Sweetheart language!" Olivia replied sternly.
"Daddy says it all the time at work"
Olivia eyed Brian and he gave her an apologetic look.
"Yeah well daddy need to watch his language around you...thats not a good word to use"
"Sorry mommy"
David smiled, and started to stand up. "I should get going...thanks for letting me join you guys" He knelt down beside Jeremy.
"Maybe next time we could hang out? Would you like that?"
Jeremy nodded. David smiled and ruffled his hair a little and left.
They cleaned up Brian got ready to leave.
"Are you going back to work with me are you staying with mom?"
"Baby maybe you should stay and take a nap for a little while" Olivia tried.
"I don't want to mommy" He whined a little. She smiled and kissed his head.
"Ok I love you sweetheart"
Olivia sat on the couch waiting for them to come home.
She woke up to hearing the door open and close. She looked at her watch. Brian walked in with Jeremy in his arms asleep.
"What the hell Brian it's one o' clock in the morning!" She said taking her son from his arms and took him to his room.
She walked in their room to see Brian getting undressed.
"Babe I'm sorry I really didn't expect to stay that long"
"Why not bring him home, or ask me to pick him up?"
"I couldn't leave, and Your pregnant and you have Ben I didnt want to worry you" He said apologetically.
She nodded and climbed in the bed.
"Are you going to be able to come with me to the doctors appointment tomorrow?" She asked as she snuggled to his chest.
"I can't babe I have to go out of town"
"But we will find out if their girls or boys"
"I know babe but I cant miss this" He kissed her head. "You gotta know that I would much rather be with you and the kids" Olivia nodded.
Olivia woke up early the next morning so she could see Brian before he left.
"Call me as soon as your appointment is done..." He said pulling her in his arms and kissing her head. "I love you"
"I love you too" she slept for a few more hours.
Around 7:30 AM to woke up to get ready for a day. When she went to Jeremy's room and woke him up.
"hey sweetheart time to get up" he sits up and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes.
Sunny came and took Jeremy to school taking Ben with her.
Olivia drove to the doctors office.
The doctor came in. "Hello Olivia how are you?"
"I'm ok...tired but ok"
He smiled. "No pain any where? No concerns"
"Not that I know of I just want to see what I'm having and make sure their healthy" she replied confidently.
"Ok well lets take a look shall we?"
They looked at the monitor by the bed. He moved the wand around before studying it closely.
"Well umm...one of them is a boy for sure I can't see the other baby...it's smaller and hiding behind him."
"What does that mean?" She asked anxiously.
"It doesn't mean anything the baby is there and I hear two strong heartbeats I just can't make out the sex...but I say come back in a week or so and hopefully the babies have moved around a little so i can see" He gave her a reassuring smile.
She got dressed and went to schedule her next appointment then drove to the precinct.
She sat down at her desk and pulled out her phone.
"Hey babe"
"Hey"
"How did it go? Everything ok"
"I'm fine the babies are fine...its a boy"
"You said a?"
"He couldn't tell because the other baby was behind him...so he said come back next week because they may move and we can make out if its a boy or a girl"
"Ok..." He chuckled.
"What?"
"It's just three boys...you don't miss" She smiled.
"What do you think its going to be?"
"Honestly a boy...I would like a girl though..you?"
"A girl...I love you Olivia Benson"
She smiled, Brian could tell through the phone. "I love you too"
She hung up with Brian and made her a snack. She figured she sleep a little before Sunny came back with Ben.
She was half asleep on the couch when she heard a knock on the door. She groaned as she shuffled to the door.
She opened it to see Elliot standing there on the other side.
"What are you doing here?"
He offered a apologetic smile. "I wanted to talk to you" She scolded him, then stepped aside to let him in.
He looked down at how bulging stomach as she put a protective hand over it.
He sat down on the couch, while she stood.
"Olivia I am happy that you have a family..."
He trailed off, and she nodded telling him to continue.
"I was just taken back I always thought when you did decide to have a family, I would be there" He sighed. "Im so sorry Liv...I really am"
She smiled at him. He knew that smile though, the I am really forgive you but I don't want to seem passive, smile.
He smiled back.
Then her face became serious.
"How come you never called, or wrote, or anything?"
"I was in a bad place, I knew you were a little shaken up after the shooting too and I didn't want to put anymore on you"
"El I could've help you" She said defensively.
"I know you could've...I just needed time" He struggled as he bit his lip.
"From me!?" She became angry.
"No" He said it so confident and strong, she couldn't help but forget her anger. "I need time to get my self together for you, for my family. I felt so out of control"
She moved towards him and quickly pulled him into a warm embrace, squeezing as tight as her four month belly would allow.
He pulled back and smiled down at her kissing her head.
They sat back down on the couch.
"I want to know about you and your family"
She smiled. "Jeremy's five and he's amazing and growing so fast, its almost hard to believe sometimes...and Ben his smile and laugh make me so happy...I feel like the best Mom in the world. The twins coming into the world is going to be challenging but I know I'm going to love every minute of it."
"And Brian how did you two get back together?"
"We met during a case and went out. I was just having Jeremy...and he's been so amazing to him"
"Brian's not Jeremy's father?"
"No David Haden is"He could hear the strain in her voice.
"What happened?"
"He didn't want a family"
Elliot gave her a sympathetic look.
"Its ok he's here and he's trying to be in Jeremy's life and thats all that matters to me" She said confidently.
"Does he know?"
"We've told him that David is his biological father and That Brian is still his dad"
"How did he take it?"
"He took it...he didn't really say anymore about it...should I be worried?" Her brows furrowing.
He chuckled. "No...he's still young he probably doesn't fully understand...You've adapted to motherhood so well...its hard to remember you before this...its like you were always meant to be a mom it just wasn't the right time yet"
She smiled. "I'm really glad you came back"
He nodded. "I should get going I'm meeting Maureen for lunch...we should get together again and talk" He said getting up and going to the door.
"I'd like that" She said closing the door behind him.
