Dressed in an elaborate golden gown, Chen T. opened her arms wide as the floodlights bathed her in radiance. She twirled around in her dress, showing off for the smattering crowd. Winking at the cameras and blowing everyone a tremendous kiss, Chen T. kicked off the finale with an elaborate display of charm.
"Good evening, I'm Chen T. and this is the LIVE Big Brother finale!" Chen T. shouted, and the crowd went wild, everyone clapping furiously. The whole Mushroom Kingdom had tuned into this season of Big Brother, being a popular show in P'illo Island, it was sure to garner fanatic support in the Mushroom Kingdom.
"Now, we have so much to get to tonight, that this episode is double the length of any normal one!" Chen T. announced, and the crowd continued to shower the hostess with affection. She simply adored it, and blew more kisses to her fans.
"Here's how tonight will work," Chen T. began, "First, we'll pay a visit to the final three, and figure out who won the second round of the three part Head of Household competition. Either Birdo or Rosalina will move on to face off against Luigi in the final round." She took a breath and began again, "From there, we'll pick up where we left with DK, and give you a look inside the Jury House. They've had their own fair share of drama! Then, it's back to the house for the third part of the final Head of Household competition, where a winner will be crowned. After that, the final member of the jury will be decided when the Head of Household evicts someone on the spot. Then, the Jury of Five will ask the final two various questions, and a winner will be crowned! There's so much to do, let's get to it!"
On cue, the JumboTron zoomed in on the living room, where the final three were assembled. Sitting in the nomination chair alone, no one beside her, Rosalina wore a sparkling cerulean gown. It wrapped around her neck and encircled around her waist, swooping down into a gorgeous slit. Matching pumps decorated her feet, and dangling sapphire earrings hung from her pierced ears. Her platinum hair shone with refulgence, and she looked dazzling.
Sitting on the right couch, Luigi wore a lime green dress shirt and a pitch black bowtie, accentuating his dark hair and bringing out the lime in the shirt. He wore ironed black slacks, and fancy two-toned green and black dress shoes. Luigi represented his favorite color, and looked very nice in it too.
Birdo had opted for a shorter dress, one that hugged her mid-thighs and stopped there. It was a glimmering pink, sparkling with the rhinestones embedded in it. Her trademark pink bow rested on her forehead, and she wore heavy mascara and eyeliner like normal. Her massive diamond ring shone on her finger, and she wore it all with class.
"Houseguests," Chen T. addressed them, "Although the second round of the Head of Household competition has already occurred, none of you know who one, as we kept the times a secret. For now, we're going to show the event, and then reveal who won."
Rosalina and Birdo nodded, each one eager to figure out who had actually prevailed. Chen T. smiled, cuing the rewinding of the JumboTron to show the second round of the three part competition, where either Rosalina or Birdo was victorious, and would be moving on to spar against Luigi for the final title.
The backyard was set up like a monstrous laboratory, with dark vials and bubbling concoctions on every shelf. A large steel table sat in the middle, and flanked around were six photographs, with very gruesome pictures on them. Rosalina walked into the repulsive room a bit frightened of what the challenge could be. She found the instruction card on the table, and read it to herself.
"When the timer starts, use the panels on the steel table to correctly name the mashed together monster photographs. Each picture is the mashed together photos of either two or several evicted houseguests. When you're done identifying each photograph, clock in on the buzzer to lock in your time. The fastest houseguest will move on to face off against Luigi in the final round."
Rosalina nodded, and as the timer began she studied the photographs. The first picture looked like a man with a bushy mustache's mouth, and a woman with bright blue eyes. Rosalina thought this one was too easy, and she placed the tablets of 'Mario' and 'Peach' near the photograph. She then moved on to the next one, which was a bit harder. By the massive nose, she knew it was Yoshi, but the second face confused her. She then realized it was the straightened mustache of Waluigi, and placed both of those names next to it.
Moving on to the third picture, Rosalina quickly selected Pauline and DK, noting the large mouth and auburn hair, two picturesque qualities of both of her friends. Then, Rosalina studied the fourth photo, and determined Wario's massive mouth had been paired with Daisy's angular chin, placing both of their names near that picture. The fifth picture was a mash-up between Waluigi, she was sure of, Toadette, and possibly Peach. Rosalina placed all three of those names near the pictures, and then went back to grab the last tiles. This one was Pauline and Yoshi, she was sure of it. She then dashed over to the timer, slamming her hand down on it. She had moved fast, but she wondered if it would be fast enough to beat Birdo.
As Birdo walked into the backyard, she was slightly repulsed by the display. After reading the instruction card, she nodded her head in focus and moved forward. She quickly identified the first picture as Mario and Peach, hurriedly placing their names by the photograph. Running back to the drawing board, Birdo stood with her arms crossed as she studied it. She knew Yoshi had to be part of it, she would know his face anywhere. It took her a bit to notice Waluigi's signature mustache, and threw both of the boys' names near the picture.
The third picture was clearly Pauline and DK, she noticed their respective signature features. The fourth picture confused her, because she found the pairing of Daisy and Wario odd, and it took her mind a moment to register the differences. However, when she did, she placed their names side by side, and then hurried on to the fifth picture. She realized this one must contain three faces, and chose Waluigi, Toadette, and Daisy. Then, running to the sixth picture, she was nearly out of breath. Noticing Yoshi, she placed his name by the picture, and then Pauline. She slammed her hand down on the buzzer, locking in her time. She departed the backyard, eager to learn of the results.
The JumboTron returned to real time in the living room, and both women realized they had picked a different third face for the fifth mash-up. Wondering what would happen, they both squeezed each other's hands, their friendship showing in their stressful moments. Chen T. smiled wide, waiting to deliver the news.
"Houseguests! I will now reveal who won the second round of the competition. Since one of you missed the fifth picture due to an incorrect selection, one of you has lost, but the other has won. The houseguest, and will be moving on to the third round to battle it out with Luigi, is…,"
Rosalina and Birdo shared an anxious look as they waited for Chen T. to deliver the news. Holding fingertips, their knuckles were pale, and Chen T. noticed their concern as she spoke the name.
"Congratulations Rosalina, you won the second round, and will be moving on the third round to fight against Luigi for the title of Head of Household!" Chen T. announced, and Rosalina threw her head back. She was simply elated, and Birdo shook her in congratulations. They shared a cross hug in the chairs, and Chen T. continued to deliver information.
"Stay right there houseguests, because when I return, Rosalina and Luigi will battle it out in the final round in the Head of Household competition!" Chen T. spoke grandly, and the cameras zoomed out of the house to focus on Chen T. on the stage.
"Now before we begin the final round of the Head of Household competition, let's check in with our Jury and see how things have been going in the Jury House. They've had their fair share of drama, and have learned a few secrets themselves," Chen T. said with a knowing smile, and the JumboTron switched to an image of the Jury House, and the scene picked up.
"And so I've been evicted," DK reported, shaking his head, "I didn't even get a fighting chance. Mario pulled out his Diamond Veto, rescued Peach, and threw me on the execution block. I'm so upset I didn't get to fight for myself."
DK strutted inside the Jury House, examining its luxurious interior. It was such an elegant and refined mansion, and DK was sort of excited to be staying here for the rest of the game. However, he knew someone would be joining him soon.
"Tonight is double eviction," DK continued, "I think it's going to be either Peach or Pauline who joins me tonight, Peach if someone like Rosalina or Pauline wins HOH, or Pauline if someone on the other side won."
The limousine rolled up to the mansion, and a high-heeled shoe stepped out the luxurious car. With her bag around her shoulder, Peach sashayed up to the door, and she opened it for herself. DK heard the loud footsteps, and Peach swung around the corner, holding out her arms and squealing with excitement.
"It was me!" Peach shrieked, bouncing over to DK and giving him a big hug.
"Oh Grambi, tell me what happened!" DK demanded, stunned he was seeing Peach.
"Well, Rosalina won Head of Household during the double eviction, and she nominated myself and Mario. So then Luigi won the veto, and used it to take down Mario. Rosalina then nominated Birdo. But Luigi flipped the script and voted me out, because he was afraid Mario was getting too attached to me," Peach divulged, and DK's eyes widened in shock.
"No way!" DK said with a start, "Luigi voted you out!"
DK: Hahahaha! Serves her right! Even her own allies don't like her!
"So let's watch the tape," DK said, taking the DVD from Peach and popping in the DVD. They watched the double eviction played back, and when it was done, they both shared a hysterical look.
"We look so stupid!" Peach laughed, "I was so sad, and you looked so ashamed!"
"Oh I know," DK hung his head, "I didn't even stand a chance."
"Oh I'm so sorry DK," Peach rubbed his arm, "Mario had to save me, and you were just collateral damage."
"Collateral damage!" DK yelled, "Yeah, make me feel important!"
Peach: Oh great, I've already upset DK…
"DK and I have been working out, swimming, reading, playing cards, and doing a whole lot of relaxing. It's been very soothing and relaxing, but today, we get a new friend!" Peach said with a clap.
"Who do you think it's going to be?" DK asked, as he put down his hand of cards.
"Maybe Rosalina or Pauline, seeing as how Rosalina could not compete, making Pauline's chance of being safe lower," Peach calculated. DK replied, "Well, it could be Mario or Luigi. Pauline could've won HOH."
DK: It has been a little awkward. I'm still rooting for Pauline and Rosalina, and Peach is still rooting for Birdo, Mario, and Luigi. So, our personalities have been clashing over who we want to win.
However, their dispute was soon answered, as the limousine pulled up. Pauline stuck her long leg out of the car, and waltzed up to the front door. Opening it up, she walked into the dining room and found Peach and DK playing cards.
"Pauline!" Peach cried, jumping up to hug the woman.
"Oh, what happened?" DK inquired, upset that he was seeing Pauline.
"Well, Luigi managed to win his first Head of Household," Pauline informed them, "So he nominated Rosalina and I. Rosalina managed to win the veto, so then Luigi nominated Mario. It was a risky move, but it was because he made some promise to Birdo during the HOH game. Then it came to a tie, and Luigi kicked me out," Pauline finished with a heavy exhalation.
"Well, I'm just glad Mario is still in the house," Peach commented, sounding a bit flippant.
Pauline: The problem with Peach is that she's never really interacted with DK or I…so she doesn't really know how to talk to us. She's a bit rude…
"Well, I'm glad Rosalina's managed to hang on," DK smiled, "I hope she wins."
"DK!" Peach said, a bit offended, "Why would you say that? What has Rosalina even done?"
"Excuse you!" Pauline cried, "Rosalina's wonderful! She's won competitions!"
"Not as many as I have," Peach smirked.
"Well, she's still in the house," DK retorted, and he made his way into the living room to watch Pauline's episode. Peach distanced herself from them, heading into her room to do some yoga to cool herself down.
"Well, I haven't really hung out with Pauline and DK much, they've been pretty mean to me," Peach told the cameras, "But today, the fourth member of the jury arrives, and even though it'll mean I'll be more uncomfortable here, I hope it's Rosalina."
"Peach is just envious of Rosalina," Pauline said in her confessional, "I hope it's Luigi today, because he's going to be hard to beat at the end. I just don't want to see Rosalina."
"If anyone, I hope it's Birdo," DK admitted, "She hasn't proven her worth, I don't think she deserves her spot in the final four."
However, as the limousine pulled up, a brown boot slammed against the pavement. Mario made his way towards the front door, and when he moved into the kitchen where
the three jurors were located, Peach shrieked with disapproval.
"Mario!" Peach cried, upset she was seeing him.
"It's-a-me, Mario!" Mario shouted.
"Oh, never say that," Pauline said in disgust.
"That will never catch on Mario," DK advised, not commenting on his eviction. Mario explained everything that happened.
"Yes! Rosalina won Head of Household!" Pauline cheered when she heard the news, but Mario and Peach shot her cross looks. Mario told them about how Rosalina also went on to win the veto, and Birdo chose to evict Mario over Luigi because Luigi didn't nominate her when he could have.
"Wow," Peach breathed, "I didn't believe Pauline when she told me Luigi nominated you last week."
"He was keeping his word to Birdo," Mario explained, "I think it was-a-noble."
The jurors moved into the living room to watch Mario's tape, but the scene zoomed out, going back to Chen T.
"Our jurors have been deliberating for a week now, and despite their differences, they've had a lot to talk about. Let's see what they think about the final three houseguests," Chen T. smiled, nodding her head as the cameras went back to the Juror's Mansion.
It was night, and Mario, Pauline, Peach, and DK all convened in the jungle-style backyard of the Juror's Mansion. Tiki torches flamed brightly, illuminating the tiny courtyard where several sofas and chairs were set up. They all took a seat, about to begin their discussion.
"So," Pauline kicked it off, "We've got a lot to talk about."
"We're-a-responsible for crowning a winner," Mario admitted, "And we need to pick a good one."
"I agree," DK said, "But we obviously all have different definitions of who a good winner would be."
"Before we argue about all of this," Peach reminded them, "We each get to come up with a question for the final two. We should make those questions meaningful."
"Sure," Mario agreed, "But we also have to-a-remember that someone will be-a-joining us on-a-finale night."
"He's right," Pauline nodded, "Depending on who the final HOH evicts."
"But right now, let's assume all three of them could potentially win," DK thought aloud, "Each of us should state who we want to win and why."
"I think it should be-a-Luigi," Mario spoke up as Pauline rolled her eyes in exhaustion. "But not because-a-he's my-a-brother! He won-a-two vetoes, won-a-HOH, and then was-a-responsible for-a-evicting Peach and-a-Pauline."
"That's true," DK said, "If it were Luigi and Birdo in the final two, I would vote for Luigi."
"What?" Pauline cried, "Birdo deserves it more than Luigi."
"How!" Peach countered, "I can deign to give Luigi my vote, at least I can accept he beat me! Birdo hasn't won anything!"
"She won an HOH!" Pauline said, "And who can say they don't like Birdo?"
"She's got-a-point," Mario realized, "Birdo played-a-great social game."
"I guess," Peach huffed, "I know she was my ally, but I think Luigi is a bit more deserving than her."
"Well, I'm giving my vote to Rosalina if she makes it to the final two," Pauline admitted.
"Duh," DK stated brusquely, "She's obviously most deserving."
"A-WHAT!?" Mario shouted.
"She's fought uphill the whole time," DK countered, "She's won more competitions than anyone else, and everyone likes her."
"Not everyone," Peach said, staring at the ground.
"Oh can it," Pauline spat, "You're just jealous of her."
"Me? Jealous?" Peach spoke with venom.
"Oh come on-a-ladies, let's-a-get back on-a-topic!" Mario pleaded, "We need to think of our-a-questions!"
"That we do," DK realized, "Let's get to it."
"Well," Chen T. said with a dazzling smile, "We've visited our jurors, but now, it's time to figure who will win the final HOH of the season. Will it be Rosalina? Or will it be Luigi? Let's find out."
"Houseguests, it is now time for the final round of the Head of Household competition," Chen T. announced, and Rosalina and Luigi perked up, while Birdo sat to the side. Luigi and Rosalina both sat at a desk, with a divider between them so they couldn't see. A turnstile was in front of them, with the option of selecting "A" or "B". The final part of the three round Head of Household competition was quiz style, and Chen T. explained the game.
"This game is called Jury Statements, and here's how it works. I'm going to give you a question we asked to the four jury members, and you're going to respond with either "A" or "B" to how you think they answered it. Getting a question correct will earn you one point. The houseguest with the most points after four questions will win, and if you tie, there will be a tie-breaker question, are you ready?" Chen T. explained.
"Yep," Luigi said, nodding. Rosalina gave her permission with a smile and a nod.
"Good," Chen T. smiled, "Let's begin."
"Question One," Chen T. began, "DK said, "The thing I regret most about my time in the house is, "A, not hooking up with Rosalina, or B, holding back my physical power."
Rosalina smiled, shifting her answer choice to A. Luigi, not knowing DK had any attraction to Rosalina shifted his choice to B, finding it odd DK didn't win as many competitions as he should have.
"The answer is A, which means one point for Rosalina, and zero points for Luigi," Chen T. informed them. Luigi cursed himself, but Rosalina smiled faintly.
"Question Two," Chen T. continued, "Peach said, "The thing I'm afraid for my friends and family to see is, "A, how I was betrayed by my own allies, or B, how I threw Toadette under the bus."
Rosalina and Luigi both chose B, finding the answer obvious based on who Peach is.
"The correct answer is B, meaning you both get a point. Rosalina has two points, and Luigi has just one. Here's the third question," Chen T. updated them.
"Question Three," Chen T. plowed ahead, "Pauline said, "The person I wish I got to know more in the house was, "A, Waluigi, so I could have prevented his blow up, or B, Birdo, so she might've kept me around instead of voting me out."
Rosalina and Luigi both found this question difficult. Rosalina thought since Pauline basically created Housekeeping, she would've wanted to preserve, and chose A. Luigi however, chose B, because he thought Pauline probably wanted to stay longer.
"The correct answer is B, which means Rosalina earns nothing, but Luigi gets a point," Chen T. announced, "So you both stand at two points. Final question, if you both get it right, we got to a tie-breaker question."
"Question Four," Chen T. began, "Mario said, "If I could pick a winner, I would pick, "A, Luigi, because he's done so well in this game by himself, or B, Luigi, because he's my brother and I'm so proud of him."
Rosalina and Luigi thought hard, and Rosalina believed herself to be at a disadvantage because Luigi knew Mario better. However, they both thought about Mario from a standpoint of an elderly brother, so they both chose A, meaning no matter what, they'd be going to the tie-breaker.
"The correct answer is A, you both got it right, so you we go to the tiebreaker, get out your whiteboards," Chen T. commanded. Rosalina and Luigi removed their small whiteboards and uncapped their erasable markers. Chen T. delivered the question.
"The answer is a number, and the houseguest closest without going over will win the Head of Household competition," Chen T. explained, "How many waves were released during the "Making Waves," round of the final Head of Household competition?"
Rosalina and Luigi both knew they had no clue, as no one would be counting during that rigorous competitions. They scribbled something clueless on their whiteboards, and held them up for Chen T. to see.
Rosalina had selected 120, and Luigi picked 355.
"The answer was 180, meaning congratulations Rosalina, you are the final Head of Household of the season!" Chen T. announced, and Rosalina shot out her seat. She danced around, completely shocked and ecstatic. Luigi looked defeated, but Birdo hugged Rosalina, proud of her for winning. Luigi stood up, congratulating Rosalina after a few disappointed moments of shock.
"Rosalina has won the final HOH," Chen T. told the audience, "And when we return, she will cast her single vote to evict, solidifying the final two."
"Welcome back," Chen T. said with a brilliant white smile, her golden gown shimmering.
"Rosalina has just won the final HOH competition of the season, and now she will cast the sole vote to evict," Chen T. explained. The JumboTron zoomed in one the houseguests, and Rosalina was standing before Luigi and Birdo, both of whom took up the nominations chairs. Luigi sat in the left one, Birdo in the right. Luigi's lime green dress shirt stood out against the blue background of the chair, and so did Birdo's hot pink ensemble.
"Attention houseguests," Chen T. made them focus on her, "Just a reminder, when I announce the name of the evicted houseguest, they will have but a few moments to say their goodbyes and exit the Big Brother house. They will then become the fifth and final member of the jury."
"Rosalina, it's time, please cast your sole vote, determining the final two," Chen T. ordered, and Rosalina swallowed, nodding.
"To both of you, you are such amazing competitors, but I have to think about what's best for me going into the final two," Rosalina began, "I've grown close to both of you in the final weeks here, and I'll never forget this experience. I'm sure we'll all be friends for life, but I have to make a decision. Luigi, I think you're so great, you overcame Daisy's eviction, and you proved you deserved to be here by making big moves. Birdo, you're such a wonderful, beautiful individual, and I think you're amazing. You've played such a good social game, and you're a true friend to me. However, Luigi, I made a promise to Birdo, and I must honor it, so I must evict you."
The crowd outside of the house clamored in disapproval, many of them wishing Luigi had moved forward.
"It's official Luigi," Chen T. said as Luigi rose from his chair, rubbing his gloved hands together. "You are the last houseguest to be evicted from the Big Brother house."
Luigi hugged Birdo, and she whispered congratulations in his ear for doing so well. Luigi then moved over to Rosalina, who shed a tear.
"You're so sweet," she laughed, giving him a big hug.
"Mamma Mia, you're-a-gonna make me-a-cry," Luigi admitted, "Both of you are amazing. Knock em'-a-dead!" With that, Luigi waved goodbye to both women, and heaved open the front door, leaving a waving Rosalina and Birdo behind him. As the door closed, signaling his finalized departure, Birdo and Rosalina hugged one another, elated that they had made it to the final two.
"We did it!" Rosalina cheered, and Birdo bounced on her heels.
"My God, I can't believe this," Birdo sounded thrilled, "Oh my goodness, this is so surreal!"
"We actually did it!" Rosalina cried, "One of us is going to win 500,000 coins!"
"I know, I know!" Birdo said with a shriek, "But that jury's going to be tough. Let's go sit down, they must be convening any moment."
"Oh, you're right!" Rosalina smiled with delight. Sitting down in the left nomination chair, Rosalina smoothed down her sapphire dress and took a seat. Birdo eased down next to her in the right chair, and both of them held hands as they looked onward on the television, watching Chen T. on the grand stage.
"Luigi has been instructed to join the jury behind the stage," Chen T. said, "So we will see him now, as we introduce our Jury of Five! Please welcome, DK!"
DK clambered onto stage, wearing his trademark tie. He waved to everyone, and then crowd cheered for him. Giving those close to him high-fives, the ape swung into his jury seat and flashed a massive smile.
"Peach!" Chen T. announced.
The crowd went mad, obvious that Peach had a huge fan base. She was wearing a flowy pink gown, which was kind of short. It draped over her arms, creating a very elegant look. Sitting down next to DK, Peach smiled at the crowd and winked, causing them to go even crazier.
"Pauline!" Chen T. bellowed next.
Pauline strutted onto stage, wearing a tight scarlet dress. Her auburn hair was straightened, and golden hoop earrings swayed from her earlobes. She sashayed over to her seat, touching hands that extended out to her and smiling for the whole crowd.
"Mario!" Chen T. continued.
The elder plumber wore a red sweater underneath blue overalls, his signature look. He waved to everyone, and high-fived his fans. With a tip of his hat, he exclaimed,
"It's-a-me! Mario!"
"I really wish he'd stop doing that," Pauline murmured.
"As if it'll catch on," DK mumbled.
"I kind of like it," Peach spat, causing Pauline and DK to shut up.
"And Luigi!" Chen T. concluded, and Luigi was still wearing his lime green dress shirt with black slacks and the two-toned shoes. He shook hands with his brother, but they were both relieved to be out of the house despite losing. Moments ago, the jury had discovered Luigi would be joining, and Mario took it nicely. He wasn't as frustrated as the other jurors thought he would be, but exclaimed how proud he was of Luigi instead.
"Oh," Chen T. smiled, "But we can't forget the rest of our houseguests. Please welcome those who did not make the jury, Waluigi, Toadette, Daisy, Wario, and Yoshi!" The five mentioned houseguests all rushed out onto the stage, waving to everyone and taking their seats on the opposite side of the stage from the jury.
The JumboTron affixed itself on Rosalina and Birdo in their chairs, and the stage was set. The ending portion of the finale was nigh, and soon a winner would be crowned.
"Welcome back everyone!" Chen T. spoke sonorously, pumping up the audience. "All of you gave it your best shot this season!" The crowd clapped for the ten people seated on the stage, who received the applause.
"Now before the jury grills the final two," Chen T. laughed, "Let's take a moment to speak with our five houseguests who will not be playing a role in the ultimate decision. We'll start with Waluigi."
"Waluigi, if you knew Rosalina and Birdo would be in the final two, what would've been your thoughts?" Chen T. asked.
"I would've told you that you were crazy, because I thought I was going to win!" Waluigi replied, earning some laughs.
"But, if you had to pick a winner, who would it be?" Chen T. probed.
"Oh, that's tough," Waluigi admitted, "But I would pick Rosalina. She was unwavering to her allies, won the most competitions out of anyone, and did an awesome job."
"Now Toadette," Chen T. said, addressing the elephant in the room, "How did it feel to get thrown under the bus by Peach?"
"I wanted to strangle her!" Toadette admitted.
Peach blushed, obviously still upset that she had treated Toadette so badly.
"Well, Peach, do you have anything to say to Toadette?" Chen T. asked.
"I'm so sorry," Peach apologized, tearing up a bit.
"Whatever," Toadette grumbled, still bitter over the whole situation.
"Now Daisy, you exited the Big Brother house more than anyone else this season. First, you were evicted. Second, you lost the redemption challenge, and third you were part of Luigi's diabolical Pandora's Box. What do you have to say?" Chen T. asked.
"Well, I thought the Pandora's Box was cruel, because Luigi deserved to see me. However, I wasn't too bummed about losing the redemption challenge because I didn't really want to compete again. This is a very taxing game, so I don't know if I would want to play it again," Daisy answered truthfully.
"Well said," Chen T. commented.
"Now Wario," Chen T. spoke to the fat man, who smiled wide. "Your short time in the house was a loud one. You said yourself you were evicted early because everyone feared you, is that true?"
"It's certainly true," Wario admitted, "I even eliminated Waluigi during the Panels of Peril veto because I was that determined to win. I think after that veto, they realized Waluigi was the brains, and I was the brawn. They got rid of the brawn first."
"And Yoshi," Chen T. smiled, "Are you happy to see Birdo in the finale?"
"Most definitely," Yoshi nodded, "I'm so happy for Birdo. I know that if I had played my cards right, I could've been there with Birdo, but I couldn't keep her secret. So, I was out first, but that's ok, because seeing Birdo at the finish line warms my heart."
The audience gushed, and the women of the jury and on Yoshi's side made lovey sounds. Wario acted like he was going to puke.
"Well thank you so much for being here everyone," Chen T. addressed the five contestants that would not be sitting on the jury, but for now, we must turn our attention to the jury. Each of you were charged with the duty to come up with a question for the final two. It's time to start asking."
The JumboTron focused on Rosalina and Birdo, and the women were fiercely clutching hands. They had steel in their respective gazes, and they stared right at the jury. DK was first to ask his question.
"My question is for Birdo," DK began, "Birdo, what is one big move you made in the game that should consider you worthy of winning the grand prize."
"One big move," Birdo breathed, thinking up a logical answer, "I would say my big move was my loyalty. Even though it's not a direct action, I don't think anyone can say they've been as loyal as I."
DK nodded, not really liking her answer at all. Nonetheless, the ape sat back down, and Peach rose.
"Hi ladies," Peach waved, and Rosalina and Birdo waved back at her. "My question is for Rosalina. Rosalina, if you had to sum up your gameplay in one word, what would it be."
"Determined," Rosalina answered, "I've been determined from the beginning. My determination is what lead me to win six competitions. My determination allowed me to stick by my allies the entire time and never switch sides."
Peach sat back down, content with Rosalina's answer. Pauline rose next, smoothing down her dress as she rose.
"Alright, my question is for Birdo," Pauline began, 'Birdo, if you had to pick two other people to be in the final two besides yourself and Rosalina, who would it be and why?"
"Oh," Birdo gasped, finding the question a bit insulting, "I think I would pick Yoshi and Luigi. Yoshi because he deserved to show his worth, a chance he never received because I got so mad at him. Luigi because he almost made it, and he played an excellent game."
"Thank you," Pauline nodded, sitting back down. Mario rose next, coughing before he made his speech.
"My question is for-a-Rosalina," Mario said, "Rosalina, it's a simple one. Why should I-a-vote for you?"
"Oh Mario," Rosalina giggled, "You should vote for me because I've won the most competitions and I stuck beside my allies. I never betrayed Pauline, Waluigi, or DK, and I let everyone know that. I also played a good social game, because I can say I'm friends with everyone here. I also won the most competitions out of anyone in the game, including four HOH's. I think that's reason enough to vote for me."
Mario nodded, sitting back down.
"Now Luigi did not have time to formulate his question," Chen T. explained, "But, he may ask one if he desires."
"Alright," Luigi said, rising from his seat, "My question is-a-for Birdo. Birdo, why did you feel-a-obligated to evict Mario over-a-me?"
Birdo nodded, accepting the question, "Because I felt like I owed you. You nominated your own brother in place of me, which shows how true and how wonderful you are. I've never met someone like you Luigi, and I had to honor the massive favor you did me by evicting Mario, simple as that."
Luigi sat back down, and the questions were now over. Soon, the jury would cast their votes.
"Now is the time," Chen T. began. "One by one, each member of the jury will come insert their key into their respective slot, stating why they are casting their vote, but not who they are voting for. DK, you're up first."
DK walked up to the podium, covering his key. He cupped his hand over it like he had been instructed to so no one would see. Inserting it into the slot, he clicked it into place.
"I'm casting my vote for the person who I think truly deserves the 500,000 coins," DK stated, walking back to his seat. Peach rose next, sauntering over and inserting her key, the metallic noise reverberating when she clicked it into place.
"I'm casting my jury vote for who I think played the better social game," Peach admitted, going to sit back down.
Pauline was next to cast her vote.
"I'm casting my vote for who I think stayed truest to herself," Pauline informed, inserting her key and going to sit back down next to Mario and Peach. Mario took his cue, rising to place his key in the slot. When he finished, he faced Rosalina and Birdo.
"I'm casting my vote for who I think won their way to the top," Mario said, perfecting his English in that statement, trying to make himself sound as regal as possible.
Luigi was the last to cast his vote, and put the key in with finality. The final vote had been cast.
"Ladies, you're both-a-wonderful, but I'm-a-casting my vote for who I think played the best cohesive game between-a-the both of-a-you," Luigi explained, and then sat back down. Her golden gown glimmering, Chen T. glided over to the podium, where five keys stuck up with grave importance.
"I will now reveal the votes," Chen T. explained, "The person with the most votes when I am finished will be the winner of Big Brother: Mushroom Kingdom, and will walk away with a check for 500,000 coins. Let's get started!"
She wrapped her fingers around DK's key, and removed it.
"Rosalina," she stated, waving the key around slightly. Rosalina smiled in her chair, happy she had won the vote of DK, and the first vote of the night.
Chen T. moved on to the second key, which was Peach's. Withdrawing it from the podium, she held it up for both women to view.
"Birdo," Chen T. said, and the pink dinosaur couldn't help but smile. They both had one vote, but three votes remained.
The next key belonged to Pauline, and Chen T. removed with slow grace.
"Rosalina," Chen T. said, and the celestial woman smiled. All she needed now was one more vote, and then she would walk away with five hundred thousand coins.
"This could be the deciding vote," Chen T. said grandly, grasping Mario's key. The plumber smiled in his seat, knowing what was inscribed upon it.
Chen T. pulled it out slowly, and as she read the name on the key, a winner was crowned.
"Congratulations Rosalina, you are the champion of Big Brother: Mushroom Kingdom, come on out you two!" Chen T. said with glee, and Rosalina tossed her head back in her chair, completely disbelieving what she was seeing. Birdo squeezed her wrist, smiling wide.
"You did it darling!" Birdo cried, hugging Rosalina. Both women were crying, one overjoyed for herself, and the other overjoyed for her friend. They jumped up and down together, and Rosalina let out a hysterical laugh.
"I did it!" She cried.
"Let's go honey!" Birdo instructed, grabbing her hand and leading her to the front door.
"Are you ready?" Birdo asked Rosalina, wanting to know if she was ready to exit the Big Brother for good.
"I am," Rosalina said between tears of joy.
"Then let's go!" Birdo cried, and she heaved open the door. Both women ran out onto the stage, and blue and white confetti rained down from the ceiling in a mass amount. A swarm of lumas rushed Rosalina, hugging her dress and climbing all over her.
"Mama!" They all cried, clinging to her clothes and her hair.
"All my babies!" Rosalina wailed, overwhelmed to see everyone she had missed.
"You did a mighty fine job miss," Polari smiled as she floated over, and Rosalina bent down to hug him, planting a kiss on both of his cheeks.
"Polari! We did it!" Rosalina cried, still hugging the luma.
"No ma'am," Polari smiled, "You did it."
The lumas all celebrated, and Chen T. presented Rosalina with her massive check for 500,00 coins.
"What a wonderful season!" Chen T. announced, "Rosalina is the official winner of Big Brother: Mushroom Kingdom, but how unfortunate for Birdo," Chen T. said, frowning. Birdo blushed a little, truly upset she had come so close.
"Birdo," Chen T. said, "You made it so close to the end, what do you have to say?"
"I'm so happy for Rosalina, but I was so close to that money!" Birdo stamped her foot in spirited defeat.
"Well Birdo, it's no 500,000, but for reaching second place, would you accept a consolation prize of 100,000 coins?" Chen T. asked.
"What?" Birdo asked, a little stunned. Two toads came on stage, hefting a check similar to Rosalina's, but this one with 100,000 coins printed on it, addressed to one Birdo Bellini. Birdo sank to the ground, overjoyed at the gratuitous prize.
"Oh my God!" Rosalina cried, hugging Birdo fiercely. The two women jumped up and down, and the other houseguests swarmed. Rosalina and Pauline were crying together, and Peach and Birdo shared a long-needed hug. Mario kissed Peach, and Luigi kissed Daisy, both couples elated to be back together once again.
"Hey Birdo," Yoshi waved meekly, "That was really sweet about what you said about me. You know, I know I messed up, but things happen, and…," Birdo cut him off.
"Shut up you big lug," she commanded, and pulled him close, planting a firm kiss on his cheeks. They melted into one another, until Birdo pulled back and slapped him right in the face
"Ow!" Yoshi cried.
"You deserved that," Birdo admitted, "But since I hurt your face, that means I get to kiss it again."
They fused together once more, and everyone clapped for them, even the grumpy Waluigi and Wario. Confetti rained down from the ceiling, and Chen T. stood in the middle with her arms wrapped around Rosalina and Birdo, the winner and runner-up.
"We had a fabulous season!" Chen T. remarked, "And now that a winner has been crowned, it's all over! But don't go anywhere, because we'll be back for Season 2! Until next time, I'm Chen T., and this is Big Brother!"
And there you have it, it's all over. The first season of Big Brother has come to an end, and Rosalina won. If any of you are curios, Luigi's vote went to Birdo. I think some of the votes were obvious, but I'll explain.
DK: DK had a crush on Rosalina, and she was his ally. He couldn't really vote for Birdo because he didn't know her and didn't really have a reason to.
Peach: Peach was closer to Birdo, and didn't want to admit Rosalina had won more competitions than her. She voted for Birdo for those reasons.
Pauline: This was the most obvious vote, since Pauline and Rosalina were best friends.
Mario: Mario's vote was the strangest, but he wanted to vote for who played the best game, and even though he was aligned with Birdo, he thought Rosalina had bested her.
Luigi: Luigi and Birdo became close during the final rounds of the game, so he voted for her because of the whole exchange of loyalties they had.
As all of you know, Big Brother: Chai Kingdom will kick off this Sunday, so be prepared! Twelve new houseguests will enter an all new Big Brother, for twice the drama, twice the adventure, and twice the twists! Stay with us!
