A/N: Warning this chapter is going to include more harsh and vulgar language than usual.
Amanda stood in Olivia's office watching as Fin placed Tanner Dixon in the seat his son was occupying only a short time ago. She was nearly holding her breath as the blonde man's hand were restrained to the table, he was shouting obscenities the entire time. Amanda's skin crawled at the voice of the man who had caused her so much pain only days before. The resemblance was uncanny, even for her. The young detective truly understood now why she saw so little of herself in Olivia, she really was her father's daughter, if only in appearance.
A soft hand was placed on Amanda's shaking shoulder. "Honey, you don't have to watch this" Olivia said calmly as her daughter tore her gaze from her birth father to see her mother's deep brown eyes.
"No, I do" Amanda said as she grabbed her mother's hand and squeezed it, trying to convey to the older woman that she was going to be okay "if I can't even see him now with a wall between us..." she returned her gaze back to the restrained man in the interrogation room "how could I even think of facing off with him in court"
"He may take a deal?" Olivia offered. That could be the best case scenario. They would get the justice they deserve, albeit maybe serving a slightly lesser time then they may have otherwise, but it would save Amanda and the other women the trauma of going through with a trail. Olivia hated the idea of those men getting even a second of their well deserved time reduced but at the same time she couldn't bare to see her daughter up on the stand facing her attacker. She remembered how hard it was for her to do so with Lewis.
"We both know that's not likely, Liv" Amanda retorted truthfully at her mother's words.
"You're one big piece of crap ya know that" Fin's voice echoed through the speaker drawing both women's attention back to the interrogation occurring before them. Fin was circling the restrained man in the same manner a shark would before it devoured its prey "You're going down for all of the woman you've raped"
"Raped?" Tanner repeated as if he had no idea why he was being held in the first place "I've never raped anyone in my life. I mean look at me" he gestured to himself with his handcuffed hands "does it look like I need to rape anyone, I have to turn those bitches away"
Fin snorted at this, his face showing pure disgust for the man before him. He loudly slammed the folder containing the pictures of his victims on the table. One by one he placed a picture in front of Tanner "this ringing any bells?" Fin asked as he placed the last picture, the picture of his partner down.
"Well of course" he smirked "blondes always did have a way with ringing my bell" he laughed at his own lewd comment "but if you're asking me if I know them... then no. I couldn't even tell you their names"
"Well of course you couldn't" Fin said darkly "because you had them drugged and subdued before they could properly have a conversation with you. What were you afraid of? Do you have a problem performing, a small package? Did women make fun of you in bed, is that why you feel the need to just knock them out?" Fin accused, purposely trying to rile Tanner up.
"Couldn't perform?" Tanner shouted almost standing up before he was stopped by his restrained hands. Fin had obviously struck a nerve with the other man "Bring in any woman and I'll show you exactly how I perform. I'll have her begging for more. In fact why don't you give me your woman, I bet she needs a real man to show her a good time" he smirked at Fin's stoic face "Oh wait, let me guess you bat for the other team, I can see it now. You like to get rammed from behind. That other guy who brought me in with you, the scrawny detective, he must be the pitcher"
Fin ignored Tanner's remarks and sent one of his own right back "funny how you bring up pitching and catching, cuz where you're going..." he paused to look right in the blonde's eyes "A pretty boy like yourself, you're going to be catching for your whole cell block. The guys in there though... well I heard they're not all too gentle about it" Fin finished threateningly
"Ha prison?" Tanner scoffed "you think I'm going to prison? You have nothing to hold me to these crimes, if you don't believe me take my DNA. I bet you won't find anything" he said confidently as he leaned back as far as his restrained hands allowed him to.
"Alright, don't mind if I do" Fin said as he pulled out a swap and collected the other man's DNA. Once the sample was secure in Fin's possession he spoke again "Oh, did I forget to mention that we already found your DNA on the latest victim's body" he hated to refer to Amanda as a victim, but for all intent and purposes she was "you didn't have your normal amount of time to clean up properly did you, not with you pulling the fire alarm and all? How else do you think we found ya?"
"N.. No you don't" the blonde man stuttered, he was beginning to show some nervousness "that's a lie, my DNA is in no system. I've never been arrested before, so if you did find my DNA on her it couldn't have come back as a match"
Fin leaned over onto the table in order to be closer to the scumbag before him "Oh, but it is" he began with a dark smirk, he liked that the other man seemed trapped for the moment "See a man like you shouldn't be surprised to find out you have left some kids in your wake. Kids whose DNA is in the system and with the help of your baby mama..." Fin hated to think of Olivia as Tanner's baby mama, but he didn't want to reveal who exactly it was they had found a match to "we were able to find your real name, not the fake identity on your son's birth certificate"
"Kids?" Tanner spit out in disgust "I made all those bitches get an abortion if they became pregnant, then I dropped them like the trash they were" Fin clinched his hands at his words, this man did not know it but he was disrespecting two very important people in his life and was on the verge of being beaten within an inch of his life. Fin took a deep breath he wasn't about to let this creep walk because he couldn't control his anger, although if it came down to it, he'd probably kill him if he ever got his hands on him. "The only exception was Shara, Daren's mom" Tanner actually smiled "A wonderful woman, never even questioned why I wanted a fake name on his birth certificate. To bad her kid ended up being such a pussy" Fin could almost see the pure revulsion on the blonde's face "maybe it was his DNA that was a match"
"You were both a match" Fin said calmly "we have you dead to rights on that last girl, and we will get you on all the others"
"That last one" he mumbled "that bitch that was a cop" Fin's hand gripped the edge of the table, he wasn't going to let this dirt bag talk ill of his partner, not after what he had put her through emotionally and physically. If he ran his mouth Fin was sure he was going to kill him "That bitch really knew how to scream... boy was it a turn on. Do you want me to tell you how she felt under me, how she screamed for her mother" he began to laugh "her mother..." Tanner's laughter was cut off when Fin's hand came around his throat.
In a moment the door to the interrogation room flung open and Carisi and Olivia ran to separate the two. By the time Fin finally let go Tanner was already gasping for air "you're going to pay for that you bastard, I'm going to own your ass" he breathed out in rough gasps. The blonde wanted to rub his sore throat but was unable to due to his still restrained hands.
"Really!" Fin yelled as he was being pushed back by Carisi "you want my ass that bad, huh. Well I'll give it to ya and I'll bring my gun with me. I'll send your punk ass to the grave and then piss on it" Fin was still fighting Carisi as the younger man was holding him back.
"Come on Fin, he's not worth it" Carisi kept repeating
"Yes he is!" Fin snorted "I'll kill him for hurting her"
"Fin!" Olivia's voice rang out stopping all struggles. She stood in between the table and the now still detectives "leave the room" Fin hesitated "Now!" she commanded sternly "you as well Carisi" she ordered as she could see the younger man was going to linger in the room with her.
"Copy that Lieutenant" Carisi answered as he left and shut the door behind him.
Olivia stood in the room. The same room that held her old lover, her daughter's attacker, and her daughter's birth father. There were many emotions playing on Olivia's mind at that moment, but the strongest was anger. "Tanner Dixon" she stated calmly. On the outside she appeared to be a model of professionalism and restraint, on the inside she was a raging volcano near to eruption. She knew that she shouldn't be in there with their suspect, she shouldn't be anywhere near this case on an ethics standpoint, but Olivia knew she had to confront this man. If she didn't do this know she didn't know when she would next get the chance.
"What the hell do you want" Tanner spit out finally able to take normal breaths again. "Are you going to fire that fucker. He assaulted me, you should let me go just for that" he had no idea who the woman before him truly was.
"What do I want?" she repeated his question "I want justice to be carried out, and that does not involve you leaving this place anytime soon" Olivia paused to look the restrained man up and down, he looked absolutely pathetic in the brunette's opinion. His eyes didn't seem like the vibrant blue she remembered. His nose was crooked, and his teeth appeared to be yellowing with age. He may have been able to play off being attractive in the club setting, through squinted eyes, but with the knowledge Olivia had and one good look it was easy to tell that this bastard was grotesque both inside and out. "Look at what you've become" Olivia said with condescension lacing her voice.
"Where the hell do you think you can get off talking to me like that, bitch. You're not better than me. You don't know me" Tanner said in anger pulling at his restraints. If he wasn't attached to the table he would have lunged for her. One thing Tanner never let stand was a woman talking down to him.
"Oh but I do know you Tanner, better than you could even imagine" Olivia said as she enjoyed watching him squirm.
"I know you?" he questioned. Olivia could see the gears turning in his head as he tried to remember her, a sudden chuckle escaped his lips and she knew that he had finally figured it out. "Olivia" he let out as he checked her out "I have to say after all these years you still look good enough to eat" he sneered remembering how he always managed to get her to blush when he said that to her "I haven't seen you since you had that abortion" he finished as he recalled their last meeting on the roof of Olivia's old apartment building.
"Abortion" she scoffed "I burnt that money, I never needed it"
"Wait..." Tanner said aloud as he began to put the pieces together "you had that kid, you're the one who identified me. You bitch, after everything I did for you back then, you go and betray me like this" he yelled as if he honestly believed Olivia owed him something from their past.
"I never betrayed you" she did air quotes around the word betrayed "because I never had a reason to be loyal to you, you've done nothing for me. The only value you ever had in your life was the one time you acted as a sperm donor" she finished with her hands on her hips. Her anger was becoming more apparent.
Tanner sat silently for several moments as he was digesting her words "I get it" he began with a wicked smile "you had a daughter" he watched Olivia for any indication that he was right. The anger was rolling off of Olivia now in waves making it clear to the restrained man that his suspicion was probably correct "it was that last woman, the cop" he laughed out "She was calling for you, you were listening in as I raped your daughter" he laughed even louder now "Ha my daughter! I can't believe it" his mirth was sickening Olivia to her stomach "Boy, I knew I had good genes, but wow that girl got everything from me. She so fuckable I'd do her again, even knowing I'm her father" he sneered out loving the reaction he was eliciting from the brunette "are you in there girl" he yelled towards the one way mirror "how's it feel to know your old man screwed you, I bet you cried to your mama over it. But hey look on the bright side, now you and her can compare notes" he laughed again.
"YOU DO NOT GET TO TALK TO HER" Olivia yelled and threw the chair from under him across the room causing Tanner to stand awkwardly over the table where his hands were still bound "If you so much as even look in my daughter's direction again, I swear to God I'll kill you" she threatened as she went to leave the room, but before she could Tanner answered her threat.
"My oh my, Olivia Benson" he whistled sounding impressed. Olivia didn't even bother to turn around "you sure have grown from the sniffling kid I remember. You've gotten stronger, but that daughter of ours..." he paused as he saw her spin around to face him at the mention of Amanda "she's still weak, I can see she needs a strong man in her life and I'll be more than willing to step into my role with all the fatherly love I can muster" he sneered
"You're going down hard Tanner. I promise you'll never see the light of day again" Olivia was sincere in her words, one way or the other he was not walking away a free man.
"Really, you think so?" Tanner chuckled "I saw how afraid those women were of me when I had them. There's no evidence linking me to the other rapes" he said confidently "Oh and don't get me started on our daughter, she was screaming so much I was going to gag her before she passed out. No, she doesn't have what it takes to take the stand against me, to watch me bore into her soul. To tell everyone, even all of New York how her father raped her. You have no case"
Olivia calmly walked up to him. She could see the other man flinch as she stood next to him. She smiled gracefully before she reached for his head and grabbed a fistful of his blonde hair and yanked his head back "You have no idea who you're taking on" Olivia whispered into his ear as he whimpered in pain. He bent his knees trying to lessen her pull on his head, bringing him closer to the table "when this goes to trial, my daughter will take the stand and my daughter will put you away for the rest of your miserable life. But, if you even think of lashing out at my daughter in court or at any instance you might see her..." she came closer to his ear "I will fucking destroy you, until you beg for mercy, and I promise you there is nothing on this Earth that can stop me from keeping that promise" she finished as she slammed his head against the cold hard steel of the table causing his nose to bleed.
Olivia again began to walk calmly away as Tanner raised his head in indignation "you bitch" he yelled but Olivia didn't turn around "I'll have your job for this, I will own this whole police force by the time I'm done. You can't get away with this police brutality"
"Police brutality?" Olivia questioned as she opened the door and cast a glance behind her "what are you talking about? You sustained those injuries when you resisted arrest" and with that she shut the door behind her leaving Tanner alone and bleeding.
When Olivia entered her office her eyes instantly befell her daughter's "Amanda" she started but was cut off by the blonde.
"Liv, that was incredible" Amanda said with a smile "I've never seen you like that before... thank you" she finished
"I've never been like that with a perp before, but this... this was personal. I now completely understand why we have rules to separate ourselves from cases that fall into that category" she let out a nervous laugh.
"Don't worry Lieu" Carisi said as he stepped forward "we have your back, no one will believe him"
Olivia nodded "Fin, and Carisi why don't the two of you put Mr. Dixon in holding with his son" she looked at her watch "Amanda there's still two hours before Barba's plane lands. Want to grab a bite with me before he touches down?" she asked. Amanda may have tried to look put together when Olivia exited the interrogation room, but the elder woman could tell how much watching that conversation had affected her daughter. The younger woman was pale and to Olivia's discomfort, she was also swaying slightly as if she could pass out any second.
"Ya" Amanda said as she rubbed her forearm and took a step forward "that actually sounds like a good plan" Amanda was relieved to have the opportunity to leave the precinct for a while. She wanted to have the chance to collect herself before Barba returned, and she was sure she couldn't do that while being in the same building as her birth father and half brother.
Unfortunately the pair wouldn't even be gone for an hour before they were called back in.
"What is it?" Amanda questioned her mother as she noticed the troubling look on the older woman's face
"Somethings happened"
A/N: For the record I really hate Tanner, the way I created him, and I hated writing the dialogue for him because he's a really twisted guy. Lol it's funny for me as the author to say that, but I just hate everything that I made him represent. He needed to be like that for the story though. Well only one chapter to go :) thanks for reading.
