Not much to say today. In the middle of packing going to be moving in the next month or so. Hopefully this will not keep me from posting. But I might post late once in a while.
As always thank you for your positive reviews. Enjoy.
Kathy sat in her car staring at the house in front of her. "What the hell am I doing here?" After another moment Kathy decided this was all a bad idea and went to start her car. Nothing. "You have got to be kidding me?" Kathy screamed hitting the steering wheel.
A light tap on her window made her jump. Turning she saw Dean's smiling face. Kathy rolled the window down. "I was looking out my bedroom window when I saw you pull in. I thought when I got to the bottom of the stairs you would be at the door. Color me surprised when I opened the door and you weren't there."
"This was a bad idea." Kathy said shaking her head.
Dean opened the door and held out his hand. "This is the only idea and you know it."
Kathy took his hand and got out of the car bringing with her a leather bag. "You know when I was younger my father had a run in with you father. Well more like your father came to town and we left. I asked him why, you know what he told me?" Dean shook his head. "He said that if John Winchester had the scent of a hunt then it was best to let him be. Your father was the only other hunter my father ever talked about."
Dean was still holding her hand as he walked toward the house. "Don't worry he's only half as bad as people say. It's Sam you really have to watch out for you know the strong quiet type."
"Funny from what I've heard you're the one that I should watch out for." Kathy smiled.
Opening the door Dean pulled her into the house. His father didn't really seem very intimidating with Ethan sitting on his knee. And his strong silent brother was setting the table. He looked back at Kathy. "Please don't let this out it will totally ruin our reputation."
Hannah came out of the kitchen smiling when she saw Kathy. "Oh good you're here just in time. Dean would you get the pot out of the oven I do believe it's gotten even heavier." Dean nodded finally letting go of Kathy's hand and walking toward Hannah. "And we seem to be missing one Winchester."
"I'm here Aunty." Logan said coming down the stairs. He smiled at Kathy. "I remember you."
"I remember you too." Kathy knelt in front of Logan. "My you look even more like your father than you did three years ago."
"You left without saying good bye." Logan pouted slightly.
"And I'm sorry for that but I had important things to get to. I promise never to do it again."
"Well now that everyone's happy, Logan will you show Kathy to the table?" Hannah said. The boy nodded taking Kathy's hand. Hannah waited until they were out of sight before she faced John. "You need to stop glaring at her like that. She's going to start thinking that she's not welcome."
"I'm not sure she is yet." John said standing with his grandson. "Besides my job is to instil fear in people." At that moment Ethan reached up and popped his grandfather's nose.

Dinner was unusually quiet, everything that was said started with 'Please pass…' After dinner Hannah quickly cleaned off the table with Kathy insisting on helping. When they came back out of the kitchen the table was full of paper's books and computers. When she looked around she was a little surprised to see Logan and Ethan still at the table. As she walked up to the table Dean pulled out the chair next to him. Her leather bag was now sitting between their chairs. Hannah walked over and sat down next to Sam.
"So what do we know so far?" Hannah asked.
"There is no one missing from this town or any of the surrounding towns." Sam answered sliding his computer over to her. "But we already knew that."
Dean turned to Kathy. "So if we're going with that these are the same coven you're hunting what can you tell us?"
Kathy opened her bag and pulled out some folders. "The first thing the coven might do is enroll any of the younger girls into school. One to keep up appearance, and two to find any new victims."
"Well that doesn't sound good." John said flipping through a book. "How did we find them the last time?"
"Pure luck and Sammy's creepy brain." Dean said. "And this time we have Hannah's brain and Kathy's knowledge of the coven."
"I'm not really sure this is the same coven." Kathy said. "Like I told you Dean, Aldetha never bothers with boys for very long. In her mind they are only good for one thing."
"That may be true Kat but you saw both the pictures." Dean pulled out the book opening it again. "We know for a fact the picture is from them."
Kathy looked at the drawing and the picture again. "Maybe Logan had seen this picture and talked to his friend about it."
Logan shook his head. "I didn't see that picture before Dad showed me. And I don't talk about the family business outside the family."
Nodding, Kathy looked back at the pictures. "Well according to these markings and the size, the one in the picture isn't the main table. The one in the drawing though is the main table."
"How the hell would you know all of that?" John asked.
Kathy took a deep breath and calmly looked at him. "I've been hunting this coven for years now. I know everything there is to know about them. I know that this mark here shows that you are hunting the same coven. And it is the one you hunted years ago." Kathy turned to Dean. "And the one three years ago."
"Oh hell they've got to be stopped." Dean grumbled.
"So what happened that made you focus on this coven?" Hannah asked.
"They took something from me that was very important." Kathy said coldly.
Hannah reached across the table and squeezed Kathy's hand. The rest of the night was spent tossing ideas back and forth. Around nine Dean insisted that Logan head to bed. Logan started to argue when Sam pointed out that Ethan also needed to go to bed and he hated sleeping alone.
It was almost one when Hannah stood and stretched. "I hate to say it but it's late and we aren't getting anywhere. How about we work on this some more after some sleep."
John sat back and rubbed his eyes. "That will give me time to make a few calls."
Kathy stood. "I'll let you know if I find anything."
Dean stood and looked at her. "Where are you going to be finding things?"
"The coven likes faraway places. Places where no one will be able to hear screams." Kathy stated. "I'm going to drive around tomorrow."
Dean shook his head. "Not in that bucket of bolts of yours."
Kathy crossed her arms and faced off with Dean. "Well I'm not going to walk around."
"I'll drive." Dean stated.
"Oh really."
Dean locked eyes with Kathy. "Really"
Kathy hated the way her heart skipped at his gaze. The fact that she couldn't come up with any come back frustrated her. She finally shrugged. "Fine whatever."
Dean grinned. "I'll pick you up after I drop Logan off at school."
"Then bring her home after." Hannah said as she pulled Sam up. "And be home by no later than six. Sam can pick Logan up."
Dean gave Hannah a little salute. But Kathy shook her head she opened her mouth to say something, closing it when Dean put his hand on her arm. "Don't even try and argue with her. She's using her 'Mom' voice."
Hannah smiled sweetly as she pushed Sam toward the stairs. "So very true. Good night family."
John stood and followed them up the stairs. Dean walked Kathy to the door opening it for her. She looked up the stairs and smiled. "Does she always win?"
Dean smiled and shrugged. "Not always. So where am I picking you up?"
"Do you always win?" Kathy asked.
"Usually"
"I'm staying at the motel on third. But how about picking me up at the coffee shop on the corner my treat."
"Gus has the best coffee. Drop my name and you'll get a discount." Dean walked Kathy to her car. "And when this is all over I'm so going over this car with a fine tooth comb."
"There's nothing wrong with my car."
"Sure nothing but you're muffler is on its last leg. Not to mention I'm pretty sure your timing belt is off. And should I even point out that it wouldn't start earlier?"
Kathy stared at Dean stunned. "Wow a hunter, father, and mechanic. Is there anything Dean Winchester can't do?"
"I've been having a little problem walking on water." For the first time that night his smile reached his eyes and Kathy was momentarily lost in them. Finally he looked away clearing his throat. "Well I'll see you later today."
Kathy mentally shook herself. "Yeah at Gus's." She got in and he closed the door. She was surprised when her car started the first time.
