5x19 I'm Coming Out

INT- ADRIAN'S CONDO- ADRIAN'S BEDROOM- MORNING. BEN wakes up and slightly yawns. He turns to his left to see Adrian smiling at him. He smiles back at her.

BEN: Good morning, Adrian.

ADRIAN: Good morning, Ben.

He sits up, followed by her doing the same.

BEN: How long have you been up?

ADRIAN: Just a few minutes.

BEN: Last night was crazy, huh?

ADRIAN: Very crazy.

Ben smirks at her.

BEN: I'm surprised it didn't get any crazier.

ADRIAN: Yeah. Well, I didn't want to have sex on our first date.

BEN: Technically, that wasn't our first date.

Adrian smirks at him and lightly slaps his arm.

ADRIAN: Yeah, but you know what I mean.

BEN: I do…but I'm happy that we didn't.

ADRIAN: Why?

BEN: Us not having sex so soon again proves that…we have really changed from years ago. We're not the same sex-crazed teenagers we were before.

ADRIAN: We're young adults now.

Ben nods his head.

ADRIAN: So, when are you heading back to your dad's place?

BEN: I'll probably go in a few.

ADRIAN: Do you think he knows you're not there?

BEN: Oh. I'm sure he knows. He usually checks on me every morning.

INT- BOYKEWICH'S HOUSE- BEN'S BEDROOM- MORNING. LEO walks in and looks around in confusion as he doesn't see Ben. He turns around and walks away.

LEO: Chloe!

INT- BOYKEWICH'S HOUSE- CHLOE'S BEDROOM- MORNING. LEO walks in to see CHLOE picking up her brown purse.

CHLOE: Yes, dad?

LEO: Did you see Ben leave this morning?

CHLOE: No. I don't even remember him coming home last night. But I know he went out with his friends.

LEO: Have you talked to him this morning?

CHLOE: No. But I'll give him a call.

LEO: Thanks, Chloe.

He walks out of the room as Chloe picks up her iPhone off of her bed.

She begins dialing a number and holds her phone to her ear.

INT- ADRIAN'S CONDO- LIVING ROOM- MORNING. Ben's iPhone rings on the coffee table just as Ben walks in. He grabs the phone and answers it, holding it to his ear.

BEN: Hello.

CHLOE: Good morning, big brother. Where are you?

BEN: Good morning, little sister. I'm…at Adrian's place.

CHLOE: Okay…why are you there?

BEN: I just spent the night here.

CHLOE: Oh…I wonder why…

BEN: Nothing happen, Chloe. We didn't have sex.

CHLOE: Okay…whatever you say.

BEN: So, do you need me to take you to school this morning?

CHLOE: It depends. Are you on your way already?

BEN: No. But I'm going to be heading there in probably five minutes.

CHLOE: Okay. Well, I'll wait.

BEN: Okay.

CHLOE: And Ben…

BEN: Yeah?

CHLOE: I…I think I'm ready to talk now.

BEN: About…your past?

CHLOE: Yes.

BEN: When can we talk?

CHLOE: I wish it could be soon. I really just want someone to talk to about everything. I need my big brother.

BEN: Okay. No problem, Chloe. I'm on my way.

He hangs up, just as she does the same.

She hears the sound of a car starting up and she walks over to her window. She looks out of it to see a black van pulling off and down the street. She watches it in wonder.

INT- BOWMAN'S HOUSE- KITCHEN- MORNING. GRACE pours milk into her bowl of Frosted Flakes just as TOM walks in.

TOM: Hi, Grace.

GRACE: Hey Tom.

TOM: How a-are you d-doing this m-morning?

GRACE: I'm doing fine.

Tom watches her stop pouring her milk and he looks at her sadly.

VICTORIA: walks in to see Tom putting his head down.

VICTORIA:: Good morning.

GRACE: Good morning, grandma.

TOM: Good morning, G-grandma.

Grace places her spoon in her bowl and begins walking to the table.

VICTORIA: looks at Tom and notices he is sad.

VICTORIA:: Tom…is something wrong?

He shakes his head as Grace looks at him in wonder.

TOM: I'm fine. I think I'm just going to go back upstairs for a while.

He walks out of the room, leaving VICTORIA: and Grace in wonder.

VICTORIA:: What's wrong with Tom?

GRACE: I don't know.

VICTORIA:: Are you sure?

GRACE: Positive. He seemed fine a minute ago.

VICTORIA:: I can't stand to see my grand-children sad.

GRACE: Well, you only have one grand-child that is sad right now.

VICTORIA:: Really? Did something happen?

She sits down at the table, right across from Grace.

Grace smiles at her grandmother.

GRACE: My date last night was…amazing.

VICTORIA:: Wait…you didn't have sex, right?

GRACE: Noooo…grandma. I wouldn't do that on the first date.

VICTORIA:: I thought it wasn't a date, though?

GRACE: Originally, it wasn't. But as it turns out, he and I both have feelings for each other.

VICTORIA:: So, you're officially a couple?

Grace smiles at her grandmother again.

GRACE: Yeah. Jason and I am officially a couple.

VICTORIA: smiles at her granddaughter.

VICTORIA:: I'm so happy for you, sweetie.

GRACE: Thanks, grandma.

VICTORIA:: Does your mother know?

GRACE: No, but I'm going to tell her.

VICTORIA:: When?

GRACE: I…don't know actually.

VICTORIA:: Well, don't wait too late to tell her. I know us mothers hate to hear stuff about our children last. Okay?

Grace nods her head as VICTORIA: stands up and walks away.

EXT- COLLEGE CAMPUS- NOON. RICKY walks down the sidewalk just as his Android rings in his jacket pocket. He pulls it out and answers it, holding it to his ear.

RICKY: Hello?

INT- JUERGEN'S HOUSE- AMY'S BEDROOM- NOON. AMY holds her phone to her ear.

AMY: Hey Ricky. What happened last night?

RICKY: I'm sorry, Amy. I just completely forgot about going to see you. I had so much on my mind. I haven't even gotten the chance to really talk to Clementine today.

AMY: Really?

RICKY: Yeah. I think she went to the doctor, though. I heard her make an appointment last night.

AMY: I hope she's okay.

RICKY: I asked her and she said she's fine. She's just getting a check-up. But she rushed out before I can say anything else.

AMY: Oh.

RICKY: But can I get a do-over with you Amy?

Amy smirks at her phone.

AMY: Well, I don't know…

RICKY: Please, Amy? I really need to talk.

AMY: I'm just kidding, Ricky. But some stuff must be really going on with you.

RICKY: Yes. So, how about tonight?

AMY: Okay. Sure.

RICKY: Alright, Amy.

He hangs up just as the male customer from the previous episode walks up to him.

Ricky looks at him in wonder.

MALE CUSTOMER: Can we talk?

Ricky looks at him in uncertainty.

INT- JUERGEN'S HOUSE- AMY'S BEDROOM- NOON. Amy hangs up her phone just as ASHLEY walks in.

ASHLEY: Morning.

AMY: Morning.

ASHLEY: So, what happened to Ricky last night?

AMY: Oh. He said he's just had a lot of stuff on his mind.

ASHLEY: So, are you two going to talk tonight?

AMY: Maybe.

ASHLEY: I heard you on the phone. He's coming over tonight.

AMY: Wow. You are a good listener, you know that?

Ashley smirks at her.

AMY: So…did I hear that you and Griffin broke up last night?

ASHLEY: Now, who's a good listener?

Amy smirks at her.

ASHLEY: But yeah. We broke up.

AMY: Why?

ASHLEY: We didn't really have any spice in our relationship anymore. And then griffin seemed so distant in our relationship.

Amy looks away in wonder.

AMY: Wow...

ASHLEY: Yeah. I didn't want to deal with it anymore. But at least it was a mutual break-up.

AMY: Griffin wanted to break up too?

ASHLEY: Yeah. He felt the same about the relationship too. He was just in denial about it.

AMY: Well, you two are going to stay friends, aren't you?

ASHLEY: Yeah.

AMY: So…what about you and Thomas?

Ashley slightly smiles at her older sister.

ASHLEY: Actually, Thomas was another reason why Griffin and I broke up.

AMY: Are you serious?

ASHLEY: Yeah. I can't keep denying it anymore. I still have feelings for Thomas.

AMY: Ugh. I know how that feels.

ASHLEY: What?

AMY: Everything you're going through right now. I've been through the same thing.

ASHLEY: By the sound of you and Ricky's conversation a few minutes ago, you seem to be going through it now.

Amy releases a sigh.

AMY: I mean…I don't know.

She sits down on her bed as Ashley walks towards the bed. Ashley sits down next to Amy.

ASHLEY: Do you really still have feelings for Ricky?

AMY: I'm…not really sure. I mean, I do love Ricky as John's father, but…I don't know where the line is between loving him…and being in love with him.

ASHLEY: Well…here's an even bigger question.

AMY: What?

ASHLEY: Do you love Jimmy…or are you in love with him?

Amy looks away in uncertainty.

INT- COLLEGE CAMPUS- COFFEE SHOP- NOON. Ricky walks in, followed by the male customer.

RICKY: Shut the door.

The male customer shuts the door as Ricky walks towards a chair and sits down.

The male customer follows behind Ricky and does the same.

MALE CUSTOMER: Look, I'm sorry about last night, okay? I was drunk and-

RICKY: Wait. You were drinking and driving?!

MALE CUSTOMER: No. My friend drove me there.

RICKY: They don't know…what happened, right?

MALE CUSTOMER: No. And again, I am sorry about doing that. I was way out of line. My name's Jesse by the way.

RICKY: My name's Ricky and…it's okay.

JESSE: It's just…I've sort of had a crush on you since high school.

Ricky looks at him in disbelief.

RICKY: Really?

JESSE: Yeah. You probably never noticed me. I was kind of a nerd back then.

RICKY: That's hard to believe.

JESSE: Really?

RICKY: You definitely don't look like a nerd.

Jesse smirks at him.

JESSE: Is that a compliment?

RICKY: No. I'm just stating a fact.

JESSE: Okay…

RICKY: I didn't know a guy even wanted me back then.

JESSE: Really? There were a lot of dudes lusting after you back then. And to be honest, some of us thought you and Ben had something going on.

Ricky looks at him in disbelief.

RICKY: Me and Ben?

JESSE: Yeah. Even other students thought you two were secretly a couple.

RICKY: Look, Ben and I are just friends.

JESSE: Well, back then…we thought you two were more than just friends. We saw how you two looked at each other whenever the other was around…we saw the way you two talked to each other…the way you two acted around each other…it was just like...you two had a lot of sexual tension going on.

Ricky looks away in uncertainty and Jesse quickly notices this.

JESSE: Are you sure nothing was going on between you two?

Ricky looks back at him and nods his head.

RICKY: I'm straight.

Jesse smirks at him as Ricky looks at him confused.

RICKY: What?

JESSE: I kind of doubt that.

RICKY: Why?

JESSE: Dude. You were into that kiss last night.

RICKY: No, I wasn't.

JESSE: Yes, you were. Care to test it out? This time I'm not drunk.

RICKY: No! I don't want to kiss you, okay?!

He quickly stands up and walks towards the door, leaving a smirking Jesse.

JESSE: He totally wants to kiss me.

INT- BOWMAN'S HOUSE- GRACE'S BEDROOM- NOON. Grace holds her phone to her ear as she is sat on her bed.

GRACE: When are we going to tell our friends and family about us being together?

INT- COLLEGE CAMPUS- JASON'S DORMROOM- NOON. JASON holds his phone to his ear as he is sat on his bed.

JASON: Anytime. I mean, you've already told your grandmother.

GRACE: True. But I haven't told my mother and you haven't told your parents or Lauren.

JASON: Yeah. Telling Lauren is the hard part, though.

GRACE: But it has to be done.

JASON: Yeah. So, do you want me to tell her or you?

GRACE: Well, you're her brother.

JASON: Yeah but you're her best friend.

GRACE: How about we tell her together then?

JASON: That'll work out.

GRACE: Okay.

INT- BOYKEWICH'S HOUSE- LIVING ROOM- NOON. Ben walks in to see Leo and CAMILLE sat on the sofa watching him walk in.

LEO: Son. You spent the night at Adrian's place?

BEN: Yeah. Chloe told you, right?

LEO: Yeah. But…it's just…

CAMILLE: Shocking.

BEN: How is it shocking? Adrian and I are very close.

LEO: Yeah, but how close?

BEN: What do you mean?

CAMILLE: Are you two close enough to be in a relationship?

BEN: Okay…how did you two find out?

Leo and Camille smile at him.

LEO: We didn't. But you just told confirmed it?

Ben shakes his head in disbelief.

CAMILLE: Congratulations, son. We're happy for you.

LEO: That's right, Benjamin.

Chloe walks in looking confused as to why her parents are so happy.

CHLOE: Hey. What's going on?

LEO: Should we tell her?

BEN: No. I will tell her later

He walks away, leaving their parents.

INT- JUERGEN'S HOUSE- KITCHEN- NOON. Amy opens the back door to see Ricky standing there with a slight smile.

AMY: Hey.

She hugs him and he hugs her back.

He walks in and she closes the door behind him.

RICKY: John's at nursery…on a Saturday?

AMY: Yeah…Robbie is too.

RICKY: Oh. Where are your parents?

AMY: They're going down with Mimsy to see her husband.

RICKY: Oh wow.

AMY: Right.

Ricky sits down at the table, followed by Amy.

RICKY: Where's Ashley?

AMY: She left with Thomas. They're going to a restaurant. So…are you hungry?

Ricky shakes his head.

RICKY: Not really.

AMY: So…what's going on in that head of yours, Ricky?

Ricky releases a deep sigh.

RICKY: It's just…a lot.

AMY: Does it have anything to do with your father?

RICKY: Yes…my father and I are…doing pretty good right now. It's just…

AMY: Just what?

RICKY: Do you think that because of my past abuse by my father is the reason why I always prefer sexual relationships?

AMY: What? I mean, sort of. At first, you were like that. But you're not that person anymore.

RICKY: Yeah. But…something happened last night, Amy.

AMY: What?

Ricky shakes his head in disbelief.

RICKY: A guy kissed me.

Amy looks at him in shock.

AMY: Really?

RICKY: Yeah. But…I didn't really stop him at first.

AMY: Well, why not?

RICKY: Because maybe…maybe I liked it.

AMY: So, you…think you're gay?

RICKY: I'm not sure. All I know is…I liked the way it felt. I haven't felt that way in a long time.

AMY: Wow…Ricky. I-I don't know what to say.

RICKY: The guy who kissed me…he said he's had a crush on me since high school and that he and some other students thought that me and Ben were having sex based on the way we acted around each other.

AMY: Well, that's definitely not true. You and Ben pretty much hated each other back then.

RICKY: But…I don't know about that, Amy.

Amy looks at him in shock again.

RICKY: I mean, I don't know what it was. But maybe…the abuse I got as a child is what got me wanting sex with women…I didn't really get a chance to figure out who I am…and who I wanted.

AMY: So…are you saying you like Ben?

RICKY: I like Ben as a friend…but I just want some clarification on everything.

Amy looks at him in wonder.

INT- ENRIQUEZ'S HOUSE- KITCHEN- AFTERNOON. The back door opens and Reuben and Cindy walk in to see Adrian smiling at them.

REUBEN: Hey Adrian.

CINDY: Hi, sweetie.

ADRIAN: Hi, mom and dad. I…need to talk to you two.

They look at her in wonder.

INT- BOWMAN'S HOUSE- LIVING ROOM- AFTERNOON. Grace walks up to KATHLEEN who is sat on the sofa watching television.

GRACE: Mom…

Kathleen turns to her with a smile.

KATHLEEN: Yes, sweetie.

GRACE: I'm…dating…Jason now.

Kathleen looks at her in shock, but it quickly changes into a smile.

INT- TREACY'S HOUSE- LIVING ROOM- AFTERNOON. Jason sits in front of his already seated parents, KEN and DEBRA.

JASON: I'm dating…Grace.

The two parents smile at each other and then smile back at Jason.

INT- BOYKEWICH'S HOUSE- BEN'S BEDROOM- AFTERNOON. Ben is sat on his bed just as a knock goes on his door. He turns around to see Adrian smiling at him.

ADRIAN: Hey Ben.

She begins walking towards him with a smile.

Ben stands up with a smile and walks over to her, wrapping his arms around her waist.

BEN: Hello Adrian.

She wraps her arms around his neck.

ADRIAN: I told my parents…about us.

BEN: Yeah? Me too.

ADRIAN: I thought it would be harder to tell them.

BEN: Right. I guess we were just worried too much.

A knock goes on the door again and the two turn to see Ricky and Amy standing there.

BEN: Uh…hello.

ADRIAN: Hey Ricky. Hey Amy.

RICKY: Hey.

AMY: Hey you guys.

BEN: What brings you by here?

Ricky looks at Amy who looks at him back.

ADRIAN: What's going on?

AMY: Ricky…has a problem.

BEN: What is it?

RICKY: I think I might be…gay.

Ben and Adrian look at him in shock.

AMY: I know. It shocked me too.

RICKY: But I really just want to get some clarification on it.

ADRIAN: And what are we supposed to do?

AMY: Wait. Are you two together now?

BEN: Yeah.

RICKY: Well, they're definitely going to say no.

ADRIAN: Can you two tell us what's going on?

AMY: Ricky wants to kiss Ben to see if he's really attracted to guys.

BEN: What?

RICKY: It sounds stupid, I know.

ADRIAN: Wow. Okay…um…I don't know.

AMY: Please, you two. Ricky really needs this.

BEN: What made you so suddenly think you're gay, Ricky?

RICKY: This guy kissed me last night. And I didn't really stop him at first. Then it made me wonder if maybe I have always been attracted to guys, but the abuse I got as a kid kept me from realizing it.

BEN: Wow…um…Adrian?

ADRIAN: Well…Ricky does seem to need help with this.

BEN: Okay. I'll…do it. Adrian, are you okay with this?

ADRIAN: Yeah. Ricky needs this. And studying law, I know that people who were abused as kids tend to be confused of their sexuality later on in life.

Ben nods his head.

BEN: Okay.

Ricky steps towards Ben and Ben does the same.

RICKY: Uh…can we get some privacy?

AMY: Okay.

She leaves, followed by a smirking Adrian.

Ben and Ricky stand within inches of each other.

BEN: Wow...this is…weird.

RICKY: I know…if you don't want to do this, Ben…you don't have to.

BEN: I want to help you out, Ricky. We're friends.

Ricky nods his head.

BEN: Wait…I am going to be the dude, right?

RICKY: Really, Ben?

BEN: Okay. Let's just get this over with.

Ben and Ricky inch their faces close to each other. Their lips connect at the same time. Ricky closes his eyes into the kiss, but quickly opens them back up. The two pull back from each other's lips as Ricky shakes his head.

BEN: Well?

RICKY: I'm not gay.

BEN: You were kind of into the kiss, Ricky.

RICKY: But it's not because I'm gay. It's because I miss the way it feels to have contact. And I know why I was into the kiss with that guy. It was because I miss…feeling wanted.

BEN: Really?

RICKY: Yeah. I've been feeling this way for a while now.

BEN: But what about you being abused by your dad? Has that affected you in anyway regarding your sexuality?

RICKY: I feel that…it made me realize early on that I like women. I didn't have time to figure it out normally like other kids.

BEN: Well, at least you're sure now.

Ricky nods his head.

BEN: But you do know what just happened doesn't leave this room, right?

RICKY: Yeah. Thanks for being a friend, Ben.

BEN: You're welcome, Ricky.

INT- TREACY'S HOUSE- LAUREN'S BEDROOM- NIGHT. LAUREN is sat on her bed with her headphone sin her ears. A knock goes on her door, but she doesn't hear it.

The door opens and Jason and Grace walk in.

Lauren looks up at them with wonder and takes out her headphones.

LAUREN: Hey.

GRACE: Hey Lauren.

JASON: Hey sis.

LAUREN: What brings you two by here?

JASON: We…need to tell you something.

LAUREN: What is it? I hope it's not bad news.

GRACE: No, it's good news. It's definitely good news.

Grace looks at Jason with a smile and he smiles back at her.

Lauren looks at the two in confusion, but quickly changes into disbelief.

LAUREN: You two are together, now?!

JASON: Yeah.

GRACE: We're…in love with each other.

Lauren smiles at them.

LAUREN: Well, I'm happy for you two, but…I just hope it doesn't change you two.

JASON: What do you mean?

LAUREN: Like you two were much better being single. But whenever you two get into a relationship with someone, you turn into a completely different person.

GRACE: But that's not going to happen this time, Lauren.

JASON: Yeah. We've realized our mistakes in our past relationships. We're learned from the mistakes.

LAUREN: Are you two sure?

They nod their heads at her.

She quickly smiles at them and stands up. She hugs them both and they hug her back.

LAUREN: I'm so happy for you too!

INT- BOYKEWICH'S HOUSE- CHLOE'S BEDROOM- NIGHT. Ben is sat in a chair as Chloe is sat on her bed.

CHLOE: Wow…so you're really in love with Adrian?

BEN: Yeah…I am in love with Adrian.

CHLOE: Good. I like her. Where did she go, anyways?

BEN: She went to have dinner with her parents.

CHLOE: What about your other friends?

BEN: They went home.

CHLOE: Okay.

BEN: So…are you ready to talk?

Chloe slowly nods her head.

BEN: Okay.

CHLOE: Look, Ben…I really have a hard time telling you this right now…so please don't overreact.

BEN: Okay. I won't.

CHLOE: I…had an abusive past with my brothers. They used to beat me…and have sex with me. But I didn't want to….to have sex with my brothers. I didn't want it.

Tears begin to form in her eyes as Ben does the same.

BEN: Chloe…

CHLOE: Then, when I tried to tell my parents…they just ignored what was going on. Like they didn't care how I felt about it all. They just pranced around, throwing money at me to keep me quiet like I was…like I was a prostitute.

Ben quickly stands up and rushes to Chloe. He wraps his arms around her, squeezing her as she does the same.

CHLOE: I didn't deserve it! I didn't deserve any of it! They abused me…and I had to deal with it for so long!

Tears begin flowing down her cheeks, just as Leo and Camille walk in.

LEO: What's wrong?

CAMILLE: Chloe?

Ben releases Chloe and she turns around to their parents.

CAMILLE: What's going on?

Chloe stands up and rushes to the two, quickly hugging them. They hug her back as Ben watches on.

EXT- BOYKEWICH'S HOUSE- NIGHT. The black van's front window goes down, revealing Jesse staring at the house in anger. He quickly rolls up the windows and pulls off down the street.

What do you think about Ricky's plot? What's going on with Tom? What does Jesse have to do with the Boykewich's? Please leave your reviews, comments, and theories about what will happen later in the stories.
