~Madam Red's POV~

I despised my red hair, which was just like my father's.

And I loathed the colour red.

"An's red hair is truly beautiful." Him, the love of my life, used to always say. "The colour of lycoris, a colour that blazes the earth. Red really suits you."

I began to love the colour red because you complimented me.

But… But…

~Sebastian's POV~

Sebastian ripped off his trench coat, revealing his usual tailcoat and garb underneath. He draped it over Ciel, leaning in close as he did so.

"Wha-?!" Ciel tried to push it off, but stopped when Sebastian placed the hood over his head.

Sebastian smiled. "Please do not allow yourself to catch a chill. I will prepare some hot milk when we have returned to the town house. And I shall sweeten it with honey or brandy or something of the sort."

Ciel watched him in silence, both his sapphire and amethyst eyes clouded over slightly as he clenched onto the trench coat.

"Ohhh? I'm not going to let you go running home just like that, you know?!" Grelle tugged on the handle of his death scythe. "Little death scythe here and I are both full of soooo much pent-up energy these days 'cos our quarry has been much too easy to… HUNT!"

Grelle leaped at them, and Sebastian shoved Ciel out of the way. The scythe cut into the cobblestone between them, creating a giant crack as though an earthquake broke through it.

"I much prefer doing the chasing myself to being chased, Bassy!" Grelle squealed. "So let's have ourselves a marvelous round of tag, shall we?!"

Sebastian did a backflip to evade his next swing. "I have asked you before… To refrain from uttering such vile… Drivel!"

"Don't be like that! You'll get hooked on my little one once you've had a taste… I'M SURE!" Grelle said as Sebastian blocked his next attack with a light pole. "Ooh! You don't look it, but you're pretty powerful, Bassy! That warms my cockles too, it does! However… THE REAL SHOW BEGINS NOW! The death scythe… Can cut through a gas lamp… Like a twig!"

Grelle sliced the pole, and cut Sebastian's arm afterwards when he didn't expect it. He froze as a film reel erupted from the wound along with blood. Sebastian stared as images played within the reel.

"Wha…"

"From this day forth… You are my faithful dog."

"YES!"

"Should I get the ring out?"

"My name is Ciel… Ciel Phantomhive."

"Come to my side!"

"I love you, Sebastian Michaelis…"

"THIS… IS…"

Sebastian gasped as the images disappeared, and Grelle materialized in front of him. There was very little feeling in his injured arm.

"—how was it for you, hm?" Grelle asked with a cheeky smile. "The pain you felt must've been rather dramatic, no? That just now was a little talent we reapers have… The 'cinematic record.' Grim reapers receive a list of those who are scheduled to die and judge them by playing back their memories using the 'record.' We look at what sort of humans they were… And what sort of lives they lived. Should we allow them to live? Or should we kill them? People say a magic lantern passes before their eyes when they are on the verge of death… But that's just reapers like lil' ole me playing back that human's 'memories.' For those who receive the judgment… 'This human should die'… We use our death scythes to sever their memories and souls from their bodies, and… For them, it is 'THE END.'"

"I had presumed you were only guilty of poor taste, but…" Sebastian sighed. "… A Peeping Tom as well, are you? Truly the lowest of the low."

"Non, non! That is our job! But… Yes, all right! I admit, I am a wee bit curious… About what lurks in the pasts of fine men like yourself! Especially… WHEN THEY SEEM TO BE THE BAD-BOY TYPE!" he snuck up behind him, and pinned him up against the wall, the death scythe lingering above Sebastian's shoulder. "TEE-HEE-HEE! You can't play make-believe with yours truly like you do with humans, Bassy. The death scythe can slice right through… Memories… Souls… Dimensions… And even…

"…DEVILS!"

~Ciel's POV~

Ciel wrapped Sebastian's coat around his thin shoulders, his eyes showing no emotion. He looked up at Madam Red, his anxiety growing. "Why…?"

Madam Red smirked. "Why? What is the point of asking me now? When you and I have become… The 'watchdog' and its 'prey.' She walked towards him, pulling out a knife from her sleeve. "If I don't hunt the watchdog, I will be hunted. In which case… THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY OUT!" She tried to stab him, but he moved out of the way, so she only slashed his arm.

Ciel held on to it, biting his lip. "Madam. You are a physician. Why would you kill-?!"

"A BRAT LIKE YOU WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND! NOT EVER!" she screamed, and grabbed Ciel by the neck, forcing him against the brick wall behind him. He couldn't breathe, his wheezing getting much worse. "I wish you… That someone like you-!... That someone like you… HAD NEVER BEEN BORN!"

Madam Red proceeded to stab Ciel, but faltered at the last moment. Sebastian shouted somewhere behind her, and Ciel saw him materialize behind her, about to make the kill.

"STOP! SEBASTIAN!" Ciel screamed as Madam Red covered her face and dropped her knife on the ground. "DO NOT KILL HER!"

Sebastian stopped, and stood to the side of Madam Red, grasping his shoulder and breathing heavily. Ciel stared, bewildered.

"… Sebastian…?"

Grelle pulled out his death scythe from the opposite wall. "TEE-HEE! Why, Bassy! You've got guts! To think you would sacrifice your arm… To go rescue that brat. But you are a wholly different story… Madam! You just go on and kill that brat now, you hear?!"

"No…" she mumbled.

"Hunh?"

She grasped at her heart. "I cannot… I cannot kill this child…!"

"How can you say that now?! After you chopped up all those women! If you don't kill him, he'll kill you instead! And after I'VE gone to all the trouble of assisting you!"

Madam Red clenched her fists, and turned around to look at Grelle. "But… But! This child is my-!"

Grelle drove his death scythe straight into her chest, its tip sticking out from her back. Blood spattered everywhere as she fell to the ground, some even landing on Ciel's face. He stared in complete shock, his ears ringing as he processed the scene. Sebastian looked surprised, as if he didn't expect this to happen.

Grelle sighed as he yanked the scythe from her chest. "I'm so disappointed in you… Madam Red."

Cinematic records circled around Madam Red, perfect images playing amongst them.

A/N – Hello! How are you guys? I love you all so much! I know have over 3600 views on this story!

I published my first crossover a few days ago, which I will try to update at least 1-2 times a week, thanks to the people who checked it out so far!

I surprised how popular this story has gotten. Sure, there are many better-written and more popular ones out there, but I'm still really happy

Yes, they finally kissed a while ago! I decided to make it officially Sebastian x Ciel for two reasons, one of them because of their popularity, and another reason that I don't really want to say, but is just as important.

Please don't expect any steamy scenes… I know I won't be any good at writing those…

Please leave a review! I want to know what you all think!

Good night! I might write another chapter before 'The Walking Dead' comes on tonight ;)
