"Kodo, these papers are in all the wrong order! I thought you said you were organized when it came to these things." Kyouya was flustered as he rearranged her hard work.
"I am! I have an order to what I was doing, why are you changing it- Kyouya, stooop!" Reaching across the table, she grabbed the manila folders from his hands and pointed to the tabs. "Look! Ramen types, together. Chip types, together. Soda types, together. Ranging by flavors!"
His hand went over his face as his fingers moved his glasses up his nose so he could rub the bridge there. "Kodo.. the reason for you to see the work was so you could learn how it's done, not to change everything around."
"I don't like how it was." She pouted, tapping the compiled folders against the table surface.
"Well I don't like you changing things around, if things are in a specific order, keep them that way!"
"Well, newsflash- I'm gunna be the one running this company in the end!"
"You'll never see these folders again once you take CEO position!"
"Then why do I need to deal with them now?" She voiced that in a more serious tone.
"Because you need to learn what goes on at all times, it's what makes you a good supervisor, manager, and leader. Now, put them back how they were."
Grumbling, she reluctantly did as she was told. "I'm just saying, this is a better organized system how I had it."
"Someone with a degree in their field organized this the first time, it's fine."
"Auuuhg!" Rolling her eyes, Kodo shoved the remaining folders into the filing cabinet haphazardly. "So you'll take their side over mine because they 'have a degree'. But mine was organized by types! Not alphabetically! All the chips and sodas are mixed up, and the ramen was a jumbled mess. It made no sense to me!"
"It didn't have to."
Feeling defeated, Kodo had half a mind to kick him in the shins. Grumbling softly, she dusted her hands off and pulled out her phone. "Next you said we were going to go over the monetary worth and stock values compared to five years ago."
"Not yet." He was tapping away at the laptop on the table.
"Hm?" Walking around the table, she peered over his shoulder. "What's this?"
"There are some asking what new flavors they can expect from Kissin."
"Is that really important right now?"
"It is to these benefactors."
Squinting at the screen, she noticed the name of the person the inquiry was from. "That's.. I see. Someone who's investing a lot in to the company. So you want to give him an answer so he doesn't feel put off and back away from his deal, right?"
Kyouya glanced up at her. "Very observant."
"Do you think melon flavored ramen would be good?"
"Mel..on?"
"Yea! Sweet and spicy!"
"Then say it's sweet and spicy, don't call it melon ramen. That sounds terrible."
"Okay, then what about heating milk and soaking the noodles in that, then dump a melon flavored spice packet on top. Sweet and warm."
A visible shudder went up his spine. "I'm not sure I want you to make me miso soup."
"What?"
His head shook. "Nothing. I'll tell him we're working on potential flavors, and will be asking a survey soon."
"Oh come on! I'd eat melon flavored ramen! Okay okay, what about melon flavored chips? Salty and sweet."
"Please, spare me." He hit the send button before looking up at her seriously. "In the business world, things will pop up at all times, and it will be overwhelming. You must always be able to handle every situation like it was the most important. Every hurdle and obstacle and problem you encounter, and you will encounter them, you have to be able to fix it quickly and efficiently while taking in to account the company's best interests. Do you understand?"
"Yeah, you don't have to speak to me like a child."
"Then paraphrase."
Her teeth grit as she tried to condense his words mentally. "Uhm- be a problem solver on the fly and don't make mistakes that could hurt the company?"
"Very good. Now on to the next order of business." He clicked a few buttons and some graphs appeared on his screen.
More homework. Greeeat. "Kyouya, do we have to do this now? I'm hungry."
"You were the one who brought it up, and it needs to be done."
"Kyouya.."
"Hm?"
"It's been a week and a half. My birthday is in two days. This can wait."
Kyouya exhaled as he looked back up at her. "What do you wish to discuss? Our wedding? We already agreed to sign legal papers tomorrow then decide fully when we've graduated if this is the route we want to take."
"No, you said that, and I only nodded in agreement because I didn't want to get into an argument while our fathers were sitting there. I don't agree to that."
His head tilted inquisitively as it appeared he seemed frustrated that a discussion he'd previously closed was reopening. "Then what is it you want?"
Kodo almost thought to say nevermind, she'd do whatever, but, she had to stand up for herself. She couldn't always be non-confrontational. "I want to marry you."
"Yes, I gathered that much when you proposed."
"No, I mean- I want to marry you properly." Her cheeks flushed red as she glanced away. "The whole thing."
"A young girl's pipe dream." He looked back to his screen.
Placing a hand on the back of the laptop monitor, she pushed the lid shut, leaning over him. "Kyouya."
A heavy exhale left his lungs. "What is it, Kodo?"
"Are you apprehensive because it's such a big step to take when we're this young?"
"I am."
"Scared, because of the responsibilities it comes with?"
He was silent a moment. "Yes."
"If it's with you, I'm willing to make that jump."
"I'm not sure I am."
"Do you not trust me?"
"It isn't that."
"Then what..?"
"As much.. as I enjoy our time together, we don't really know each other or understand each other. It's only been a few months since we've met, and already you wish to be married to me? I understand your situation and your reasonings for it, to which I completely agree. However, I think I am being selfish when I say I don't believe I'm ready."
A smirked appeared on the corner of her lips. "You're the last person I ever expected to hear that from."
"What do you mean?"
"You, of all people, I would expect to hear something like, 'yes, let's get married!' while thinking about my inheritance and what you're going to do with it."
"You are a German citizen, thus you are under German law. While German law requires spouses to support each other financially, you are not bound to give anything to me, nor am I allowed to do anything with your money. In Japan, what belongs to the wife also belongs to the husband. But that- isn't what I'm worried about."
"Kyouya." She spun him in his chair to face him. "I'm not that greedy. Most of it's going to rebuilding the company. I'll be buying a new house, a car, hiring a staff to care for it all- what's left, and there will be a lot left, will be going toward the future- our future. It will be most beneficial for the both of us. Besides, I would want your help over just about anyone to help me with numbers."
"You trust me?"
She nodded. "I do."
"Are you sure that's wise?"
"Why would it not be?"
"As I said, we've only known each other a short time. You don't know my plans or my intentions."
"I'm pretty sure I can figure it out. Besides, if you double cross me, I can always go up against you in court."
"Are you sure that's a wise choice?" His head tilted as his eyes glanced from her chest to her face. Hands on the arms of his chair, he left himself open. "I have friends in high places, you know."
"You're right, money can only get me so far. But-" She leaned in a little closer to him, placing a finger where his shirt separated at the top button. "If my influence is as strong as my mother's.." her finger pressed slightly as she slid it down the front of the buttons of the cotton, "I could certainly do a looot of damage." Her voice was lowering as she spoke, mouth hovering over his now.
"You certainly do know how to spin a dangerous web for someone your age." His breathing was a little shallow. "But are you sure you aren't acting now on hormones, instead of logic?"
A soft laugh escaped her chest. "You of all people by now should know that, I think." She watched as his jaws clenched and unclenched. Was he holding something back?
"Unfortunately, I do. And not enough thought about the future comes along with it."
By now her hand had ventured to the belt of his slacks, but his gaze never left hers. "I'm curious, Kyouya." Bending her knee, she placed it between his legs on the edge of the chair as she glanced at his hands, knuckles white from gripping the arms so tightly.
"Hm?" His voice was a little high in note.
"If you want me stop, why haven't you moved to do so?"
Clearing his throat, he shifted slightly so he sat a little straighter. "Aren't things like this meant for a wedding night?" The blush on his face hadn't escaped her.
"We have kissed before already. Remember?"
"I- remember you running away."
"Well I'm not running now, am I?" Her lower lip brushed against his upper one for a brief instant, and when it did, his hands shot up off the arms of the chair and he grabbed her by the shoulders, pushing her away from him but not letting go. He stood quickly, the chair rolling backward loudly as he pushed her back on to the table, hovering over her this time as her wrists were held in his hands by her head. "Ah- Kyouya-" She barely had time to make a thought before his mouth crashed into hers. It was needy, insistent, and heated to the point that she could only melt under the overbearing presence he had over her.
"Is this what you wanted?" He asked breathlessly against her heated cheeks as his nose brushed against her skin.
"Ah.. y-yes.." Kodo could barely mutter as her heart slammed in her chest.
But as quickly as he'd done all that he was standing straight again, fixing his shirt and righting his glasses. "Well unfortunately for you, we have other things to do right now."
Back still lying against the table, Kodo blinked up at the ceiling a few times before sitting up slowly, staring at him blankly. "Really?"
"Really what?" He asked as he pulled his chair back to it's place.
"You're really going to just- do that and walk away?"
"I'm not walking away." Sitting back down, he lifted the lid of his laptop.
"Then what was all that!?"
A smirk appeared on his face he brought the graphs back up with a list of numbers. "Leaving you wanting more. Isn't that what you're supposed to do?" He glanced at her over his glasses, the smirk not going away.
Pursing her lips, Kodo slid off the table and tugged at her shirt to release any wrinkles. "Maybe not in a case like this."
"Case like what?"
"Oh I dunno, maybe getting married?"
Exhaling, Kyouya stared at the screen for a moment before replying. "What if you get pregnant before we graduate? Wouldn't that be a problem?"
Eyes widening, Kodo stared at him before bursting into laughter.
"What? What's amusing about that, it's a very serious issue!"
"Ahahaha- You know, this is the twenty-first century. We have a thing called condoms! Ahahaha!"
"Those are not 100% reliable!"
"So? I could always take the Pill. Besides that, If I learn what my cycle is, we could do it on nights I'm not ovulating."
At that, his hand went over his face. "This isn't the time to discuss this.."
"Well I'm discussing it now. We can do it."
"What if, Kodo? Even despite taking the precautions, what if you became pregnant? What would you do?"
"Considering everything.."
"Considering everything."
"I would get an abortion."
His head shook as he looked back to the laptop monitor, jaws clenched. "We have work to do."
"Is that the wrong answer? What am I supposed to say? 'Oh yea, I'm gunna raise a kid while finishing high school and going to college!' I still have a reputation, you know!"
"It is the wrong answer!" His head turned quickly to look at her. "You're supposed to say you'd discuss it with me! That we would talk about our options together! Sometimes things are more important than what other people think of you! Or else you'd come off as sounding as if you cared nothing for how I felt, even being your husband!"
That took her by surprise. She had to think about his words and let them weigh in, despite tears stinging her eyes. He was so serious about it, and she knew he meant well, but it was hurtful how he'd said it. "I'm sorry."
"Don't be sorry, be more mindful of your situations. This is exactly why you think about your options before you take action. Even though you repeated what I said earlier, you didn't understand what I meant, did you? About coming to decisions quickly and thinking what was best for the company- the same thing can and should be taken in all aspects of life. If you want our relationship to work, we have to talk and be honest and come to a mutual agreement."
"We should get back to work.."
"So you wish to do that when it's convenient for you?"
"Its what you did!" She was feeling insulted.
"Don't turn this around on me. And by the way, it would be us raising a kid, not just you. We'd be married, remember?"
It was her turn for her jaws to clench and unclench. "Yeah, of course." She wanted nothing more than to just drop the subject.
After that, they discussed numbers, figures, comparisons, charts, graphs and percentages of the Kissin companies. It was difficult to keep up, but she managed to catch most of what he was saying in the end. Despite that, she could feel the rift between them, and it was uncomfortable. She knew he was right in his points, and agreed with him. But still she couldn't help but feel embarrassed. He was right, she needed to think before she spoke. But she'd never really been in a situation like this before, where she had to rely on and talk things over with another party. Especially on very personal things like sexual schedules and children. What about their future? What about when they disagreed in the future, how would they handle things then? What if she became very spiteful of him over time and didn't know how to handle it? Worse yet, what if he became spiteful of her?
By the time they finished, it was late, and she still felt upset about their argument. Walking out of the building, she pulled her sweater around her shoulders as she glanced up at the sky. What if they got tired of each other, like how other couples did? It was making her feel depressed.
"Kodo?"
Her head shook. "It's nothing. I'm just hungry." He opened the door of the limo for her and she climbed in before he did. Sitting far to his side, she leaned her head against the window and watched her breath on the glass. Trying to concentrate on what he'd been teaching her about numbers and figures, she'd almost not heard him when he'd said her name.
"Kodo."
His voice was distant, and she almost didn't respond. "Hm?"
"I shouldn't have snapped at you like that."
Her head turned to him as she blinked. This was his way of apologizing. "Yea, you shouldn't have. But I should have made a wiser response. You're right, we're supposed to be in this together, I even said that, then blew it off. I think.." Exhaling shakily, she tried to put together the words to describe what she was feeling. "I'm disappointed in myself."
"So it wasn't nothing."
"Hm? No. I think if I say it's nothing, it just means I'm not sure how to voice myself yet."
Kyouya's eyebrow rose. "Women are strange."
"So are men." She stuck her tongue out before returning her head back against the window. "Kyouya?"
"Hm?"
"Why do you like me?"
He was silent a moment. "What do you mean? Is this a baited question?"
"No." Her head turned to look at him, the highway lights shining and shading his face as the limo drove on, the repetition of the pattern almost lulling. "It just seems like, ever since that night you caught me in the bathroom, it's like we've slowly started coming closer together, and it made me wonder if that's when it started- but based more on like, lust than anything else."
"That's a strange assumption and observation."
"Am I wrong?"
"I don't think it's entirely correct, however if it hadn't happened, we probably wouldn't be here now."
"Heh.." Face blushing, she turned away to avoid looking at him. "Twice we've been in situations like that now."
"You count two?"
"How many do you count?"
"That's not important."
"Well now I'm curious, and you still didn't answer my first question."
His arms crossed as he leaned back in his seat, ankle lifting to rest on the opposite knee. "I like you, because you're ambitious. You aren't scared easily, and you have enough motivation to fill a room. You pave your own path, and no matter what people tell you, you're determined to do what you think is right. You care for others, and would rather help someone else in a difficult time before helping yourself."
Her blush deepened before she glanced up at him. She couldn't see his expression very well due to the darkness of the shadow cast over his face. "Really?"
"Not only that, you're a fast learner, with enough patience to deal with me. That takes a lot of effort."
"Stupid." Reaching over, she nudged his ankle with her hand. "Don't act like you're impossible. You're the one who has to deal with the Host Club and all the stupidity within. I still don't know how Tamaki pretends to run everything with his air-headedness."
"Very carefully. Not to mention he has the best manager in the country."
"Ahaha! That's one way to fluff your own feathers."
"Do what?"
"Eh.. Blow your own horn? It's complimenting yourself. Sometimes phrases just don't translate well!" She laughed again, softer.
"Hmm."
"What is it?"
"Nothing."
She noticed he inhaled deeply as his head leaned against the back of the seat. For a second the street light lit up the top half of his face, and she saw his eyes were closed. But the tops of his cheeks were up, as though he were smirking.
"What are you thinking?"
"That it's rare that I'm comfortable around others."
Without a second thought, Kodo sat closer to him and leaned against his side, her head resting on his shoulder. "Me too." She felt his body stiffen when she moved against him, but after a moment he raised his arm that she was leaning on and placed it around her. "Also, you smell nice."
"As do you."
"It's probably my shampoo." She shifted her head up to him as he looked back at her.
"No, your shampoo is Panteve. It's cherry blossom, a body spray that I'm smelling. Right?"
"Know-it-all." Playfully she pushed at his chest, but he caught her hand with his other one and held her still as he stared at her. "What?"
He didn't respond, this time watching her as the street lights illuminated their faces repeatedly until he leaned in, placing his lips on hers. Unlike earlier, this was softer, gentler, warmer. At first Kodo tried to kiss him back fervently, but every time she tried he would pull his head back just enough to dissuade her from that notion. No, this was meant to be a heartfelt, inviting kiss that would linger for a long time. One meant for comfort, and dare she thought it, love. When he broke away, he only stared at her in their closeness.
"What is it?" She asked softly, almost afraid to say something wrong and break this precious moment.
She could have sworn his eyes softened as he continued looking at her. "I really, really want to have s-" He was cut off as the driver opened his door.
"Sir, we've arrived for dinner. Shall I inform the others you're here?"
All the cold and hatred and irritation returned to Kyouya's face, and Kodo could swear she saw his cheek muscles twitch in agitation. She was almost certain he was going to do something bad, and it made her worry for the chauffeur's life. Sitting up quickly, she pulled her sweater back around her shoulders and glanced up at the driver, who seemed as nonchalant and normal as ever, though he was careful not to look at Kyouya directly.
"No. We're going ho-"
Just then, Kodo's stomach growled, the smells of the restaurant filling the car, and her nostrils. Mouth watering quite suddenly, she had to slurp in the strong effort to not slobber all over herself. "S-sorry."
"Not at all." It would be rude to back out now. "Come along, the menu here is quite good." Kyouya was already pulling himself out of the car and fixing his shirt, looking as though they both hadn't just been smooching each other.
Kodo on the other hand had to clear her throat and pat her hair down before following suit out of the limo, trying not to look as flustered as she felt. What was he about to say? Have what? Soup? They could just get soup here, it is a restaurant after all. When they stepped inside, though, Kodo had to do a double take. "K-Kyouya.." She whispered.
"What is it?"
"I'm underdressed for this place."
"Don't worry about it." So was he, she noticed, but the way he walked around that place like he owned it, it really didn't seem to matter.
After being escorted to their tables, she glanced over the menu a few times, and noticed there were no price tags. Holy crap, how expensive is this place?! Eyes widening, she had half a mind to just order a water and a lettuce salad out of habit of paying for her own food. Although wasn't this kind of like a date? Stomach grumbling again, she moaned softly in embarrassment as she placed a hand over her stomach.
"Order whatever you like, Kodo." He never even looked up at her from his own menu.
She almost asked if that was okay, but that probably would have been insulting. "Have you eaten here before? What's good?"
"Just about everything."
"Well you're not helpful." Glancing over the menu once more, she thought she saw him move and looked up at him in time to see him glance back down. "What are you looking at?"
"My menu." He sounded irritated.
"Liar, I know you were looking elsewhere. Is there a cute waitress nearby?" Looking up, her eyes went over the dining room.
"I think I'll have the escargot."
"Really? That's..." She wanted to say gross. "Surprising."
"How so?"
"It's just not something I would imagine being good to eat this late at night. I hear oysters and snails can slow down the immune system if you eat them before bed." Or something like that.
"That's true of any food."
"Oh."
The waiter appeared then, offering them ice water and cold beverages.
"Could I get a cup of hot chocolate please, I'm still getting over this chilly weather. And- could you add a bit extra chocolate, please?" Kodo had this thing about being extra polite to those who made her food.
After that, Kyouya ordered his escargot with a side of asparagus and a little extra garlic with fresh fig and banana pudding for desert. When the waiter had left, she was quite curious about his food choices.
"Kyouya?"
"Hm?"
"Why.. sorry for sounding rude, I'm just wondering, why you ordered what you did? To fit the atmosphere?"
"No, actually."
"You're just hungry for snails and asparagus, then?"
"Quite honestly, I would prefer a fast meal that comes with a cheap plastic toy meant for children at the moment."
"Then why didn't we go to WacDonalds?"
"Because WacDonald's has greasy food that encourages fatigue and has raised levels of estrogen in their chicken products; and, they don't have aphrodisiacal foods."
Stupidly, she had decided to take a sip of water as he'd said that, and ended up coughing it into her lungs.
"Are you alright?" He sounded concerned, at least.
"Yea-" Cough hack cough. Her face was red with coughing and embarrassment. "How could-" Cough cough, "you say that!"
"Seeing as we are going to be married, I would rather not perform on an empty metabolistic drive."
Her hand rose to cover the side of her mouth as though she were trying to hide what she was saying from the rest of the empty room. "Are you talking about your libido!?" She hissed at him.
He nodded once.
"We're at that age I really don't think it's something that needs worried about, Kyouya!" She hissed again before hiding her face behind her hand. "And- does this mean you're okay with... doing it, despite your baby concerns?"
"As proud as I am to admit that I am a very logical thinker, being the age we are now means other things do come in to effect."
He was admitting something, she knew it. "Aaand?"
Kyouya blinked at her as though he expected her to know what he meant. "And, sometimes, those other things must be dealt with first."
"I am so lost."
"Perhaps when you understand we can move forward."
"Hey wait, that's not fair! We're supposed to talk things out!"
"I am talking, you just don't seem to be listening."
"Auhg!" Slumping back in her chair, Kodo crossed her arms as she turned away.
"If you break down what I said, it's a very easy assumption."
She muttered something incomprehensible.
"What was that?"
"I said, I don't remember what you said!"
"That sometimes those other things must be dealt with first."
"Before that!"
"Being the age we are now, other things do come in to effect."
He was like a tape recorder. He'd even said it in the same tone. "Yea." She kept her head turned away. Their food was served then, and she sat, staring at her onion soup. "Somehow I feel like I'll regret ordering this."
"A lemon cheesecake should dull any aftertaste that has."
"A wannabe doctor, a businessman in training, a snide linguist, and a food connoisseur. Is there anything you can't do?" It was meant more as a friendly insult than anything as she counted them on her fingers.
"Clean."
"Huh?"
"I can't clean. It disgusts me. It's why we have maids. Even the smallest amount of dust deters me from entering a room."
"Oh man.. the first time you guys came to my house-"
"It's why we insisted it be cleaned right away- not just for my sake mind you, but certainly something that needed tended to urgently."
"Thank you, again. I guess I still owe you guys for that, huh? Among other things. Although, now I can pay off my debts!"
"Do you think I'm not able to tack more on? In case you haven't noticed, I am rather crafty."
"Yes, I did. I still blame the twins for me breaking your glasses."
"You have no one to blame but yourself." His tone was curt, almost as if he'd not forgiven her for breaking them.
"That was so long ago Kyouya, are you still holding that grudge against me?"
It seemed he wanted to respond to that, but he took another bite of food instead, chewing thoughtfully before swallowing and responding. "Considering you still owe me on that debt.."
"Oh come onnn." She teased before returning to her food. After that they ate silently, finishing their meal before taking dessert. She recalled his comment about the lemon cheesecake, so took that. He took a slice of chocolate cake. It made her wonder. "More aphrodisiacal foods?" She asked after the waiter had left.
"I enjoy chocolate. Is that a sin?"
"You're the one who mentioned it earlier, and you had pudding- your sweet tooth must be in full swing tonight."
A few bites into her cheesecake and she almost dropped her fork. "Wait!"
It startled him enough he looked up at her from his cake, wide eyed. "What is it?"
Her facial expression was one of accusation, and when she spoke, her voice lowered again as she leaned over the table. "Were you saying you're horny?!"
His eyebrows rose as he placed his fork tongs-down on the plate facing the half eaten cake. "I was saying that being this age now, there are things that arise that must be dealt with."
Her eyes squinted. She wasn't entirely novice to this subject he was trying to tip-toe around. "Arise liiiike..." Kodo's eyes darted to the direction of his crotch, and that seemed to make him slightly uncomfortable.
"Like," his throat cleared, "like being sexually aroused." He tried to say it as calmly and nonchalantly as he could, but his ever so slight fidgeting didn't go unnoticed by her.
"So... you're horny."
"Seeing as I have little to gain from it, perhaps there's no reason to continue this conversation."
"Oh no-no-no. We're in this together, remember? What you gain, I gain. If you want to be.. Lord, how would you say this?" Exhaling and glancing around the room uncomfortably, Kodo struggled to put the words together. "Sexually active, with me, then we've go to agree to it together."
Kyouya didn't even bat an eyelid. "Then, do you agree to it?"
"I mean, I'm not entirely against the subject, it is kind of.. well I dunno, perhaps I'm just feeling apprehensiv-"
"Yes or no, Kodo?" His stern tone caught her mid-sentence.
"Ahem." Shifting to sit straighter, she felt her cheeks burn as she looked at him, noticing the stern gaze he held on her, watching her as though she was the only thing he could see. "Y-" Swallowing a hard lump, she nodded. "Yes." It was barely a whisper, but she said it.
Standing quite suddenly, Kyouya didn't even bother to see if she followed him, his long legs carrying him at a pace that it was difficult for her to keep up with. At first she couldn't quite comprehend what was going on until she put the dots together again. "Are you coming?"
"Oh. Ohhh! You-" Jumping up, she ran up next to him as he waited for his card to be returned to him. "Was that supposed to be a euphemism?" She hissed under her breath.
"Hm. Now that you mention it, I suppose so." When his card was back in hand, he took her gently by the elbow and escorted her out to the waiting limo, though it felt more like he was pushing her. Although, not roughly.
Once they were in the car with the doors closed and the scenery moving once more, Kodo couldn't help but stare at him from her seat by the opposite door from him.
"What is it?" He asked, though the apprehensiveness was still heavy in the air.
"Nothing." She said lightly, not able to hide a smirk.
"What are you thinking?"
"About what you said. As logical in thought you are, and careful and cool in any situation, you still get pushed around by emotions and hormones."
"It isn't easy being the age we are."
"If it makes you feel any more at ease, I'm feeling it too."
"At ease or under the influence of hormones?" His head shook even as he said it, knowing it was a stupid question.
The awkward silence ensued after her nervous laugh. It was quiet except for the hum of the engine and the occasional passing car. The feel of something cold and hard against her finger made Kodo jump and she almost jerked away, but seeing his extended hand holding a small glass of what she could only assume was probably scotch light brown is scotch, right? She shook her head, holding back a laugh. "I'm not old enough, Kyouya. And neither are you!" Seeing him hold the bottle in his other hand, she grabbed for it, but he pulled his hand away.
"For tonight, I think it's alright."
"No, it's never alright." She was serious as she said that. "It's ruined my father, I don't want to be like him in that aspect."
"I was sure he ruined himself by bad decisions, not alcohol intake."
"Kyouya, please!" She grabbed for the bottle again, but he raised it up, just out of her grasp, forcing her to lean over him.
"Say it again."
"I will not beg."
"My name, Kodo." He whispered against her ear as he leaned forward, his arm still extended behind him. "Say it like you did the first time."
Her face flushed as she recalled what he meant. A flashback to the night she was in the bathroom, naked, touching herself, and he walked in on her. She recalled it quite well, too, even what she'd been thinking. What if someone saw me like this? And lo and behold it happened. Unfortunately it wasn't as exciting as she'd expected it would be, but she'd still hit her high about a split second before he said anything like it was a premonition. Did she even know he'd opened the door a moment before? Maybe? All of this ran through her head quickly. "No."
"No?" He sounded perturbed and very disappointed as he leaned back in the chair, gulping down several ounces of the liquid in the bottle before taking a break, wincing at what she only imagined to be the bitterness of the taste. "This is.. actually not bad."
"No more!" Successfully managing to grab the bottle this time, Kodo slammed her hand on the switch to roll down the window and threw the bottle out. "I'm not going to sit back and watch you do something so idiotic! Nor am I going to rely on alcohol to get in to bed with you!"
"Kyouya!?" It was Tamaki's voice.
Both teens looked over to see their friend in the car next to them, both stopped at a red light.
"Shit." Kyouya muttered under his breath.
