Years ago.
It started out as a virus in the medieval ages of Vale from a forbidden dust crystal thought to be useless called the Grimm crystal, it started out as an absorbent dust crystal. They were located in the bulge, when the battle happened there between the Grimm and the humans, blood got on the crystals which were mixed with human and Grimm. When the soldiers came back, they spread the virus throughout the village but it wasn't much of a virus since no one died.
A young Aqua Megumi sits outside of the healer who is talking with her parents as they are worried that there little girl has red eyes like many other children of the village, it was strange and alien. The eyes resembled that of a Grimm but since nothing fatal happened so far though everyone of her village is worried. She heads outside to see her mother and father, they take her hands as she smiles happily. Many townsfolk appear not to be unhinged by this as today is the festival of the new year.
"Mama, did you ready my kimono?" Aqua asks as her mother nods, her father is the local huntsman of the village so he's suppose to be out in patrol. Of course she spots her friends Asuka and Shinji eating some sea salt ice cream nearby as Mr. Megumi goes with the huntsmen.
"Asuka!" The blue-haired girl called causing her fellow friends to turn to her with a smile, she runs towards the redhead and the black haired boy who laugh with her. They have been her friends since childhood.
"You didn't get some for me..." Aqua feigned betrayal only for Shinji to pull out another ice cream.
"Oh never mind." She said as she ate with her mother smiling happily at the three friends. Shinji looks at Aqua with worry as she has red eyes now but doesn't mind it though it appears to be an epidemic amongst the townsfolk.
"So are we going to see you in the festival?" Asuka asks Aqua.
"Yes, I can't wait to try out the games!" She replied excitedly as they laughed together. Ms. Megumi and Aqua leave to get ready for tomorrow night, there house is located in the middle of town. It resembles a Japanese house with a pond and other features that make it common like the other houses. They enter the house as Aqua messes with her dolls and her mother readying her kimino for tonight. Aqua then feels a pain in her body, its like its deciding something to accept. The girl collapses on the ground while groaning in pain.
The process of a Grimm shifter is painful, your body decides whether to accept or deny the power and there's 100% chance that it will accept it as another stage of evolution for the body.
Aqua vision begins to fade as her mother frantically picks her up. She finds herself on a floor similar to a mosaic with everyone closer to her hearts, Aqua looks around and feels a presence that is not human.
Don't be afraid, I mean no harm.
"Am I...dead?" She asks emotionlessly as she can't feel anything like emotions.
You are not, you are becoming something that will bring about peace...or war...
"But I don't want to hurt anybody..." Aqua replied.
It is your choice.
A dark being spawns from her shadow and is shown to have the same eyes as a Grimm. The being looks like her except covered in darkness. It reaches its hand out towards her.
Don't be scared...
Aqua slowly walks towards it and reaches her hand out to it, the two merge together as everything fades into light. She wakes up to see that she's in the healer's clinic again and rises up with her mother and father sighing in relief.
"Aqua, are you alright?" He asks as Aqua nods. Numerous people with the same red eyes wake up and appear to be perfectly healthy, its almost as if its been cured. After examinations, they just assume it to be another minor sickness that easily be cured. The family walks away from the clinic with both confused and relieved emotions. New years is about to begin so they need to hurry fast now or they'll be late for the fireworks. Aqua rushes into her house.
"Now Aqua, I want you to be nice to Ms. Ikari alright?" Her mother asks her with Aqua in her classic blue kimono that has white stripes on it, almost a little sea like which matches Aqua since her name means water. A knock on the door is heard to reveal a woman with brown hair and purple and green kimono.
"Ozaki-san?" She greeted as Aqua walks to her as she is the mother of Shinji.
"See you Mom!" Aqua walks away as her mother does her household chores. She walks with Ms. Yui as the festival is filled with games and activities alongside food, she spots Asuka and Shinji. The three played capture the goldfish, shoot the Grimm with a crossbow, and finally ate some delicious chicken. Aqua notices that they have red eyes also.
"Man, this festival is much better than the last one." Shinji said as he ate his takoyaki while they head up the hill to watch the fireworks with his mother following them.
"I heard this is the best spot!" Aqua replied as they sat down, they spot a shooting star.
"Hey make a wish!" Asuka noticed the shooting star as they closed there eyes with Aqua.
"I wish...I wish to be with you guys forever..." The blue-haired girl said she wished with the two sighing.
"Aw, you ruined the wish!"
'I did?"
5 months later.
Paranoia is sweeping the village as it becomes apparent that they are aware of the existence of the Grimm shifters after a murderer known as Yakone turned into a Nevermore while fighting a team of hunters. Division sets in and all of society is beginning to collapse with people shutting themselves indoors now to avoid not only suspicion but the virus that creates a Grimm shifter. A teenage Aqua sits around while waiting for her friends, a knock on the door is heard and he opens the door to reveal Asuka and Shinji with there parents. Mr. Megumi walks towards them.
"Please escort Asuka and Shinji to there rooms." He ordered his daughter as she raises her eyebrow.
"Papa, you didn't tell me they would be-"
"Now." She nods as she signals her friends to head to the rooms with Mr. Shikinami, Ms. Shikinami, Mr. Ikari, Ms. Megumi, Mr. Megumi head to the guest room to talk about the current situation.
"And here we are~" Aqua introduced there rooms as Asuka and Shinji lay on the bed mats with fearful expressions as they look around for any villagers who want to kill them.
"Hey calm you guys, my Dad's a huntsman and no one can harm us." She assured. They hear the adults talking about the happenings in the village causing Asuka to get up from her bed.
"Wait, where are you going?" Shinji asks the redhead as they follow her to the guest room. Aqua avoids the aged wood that would make enough noises to attract the adults, they find them conversing with each other.
"Look, everyone is going insane from paranoia after what Yakone did. I say we should pack up and leave the village." Mr. Ikari advised knowing there children are in deep danger now.
"I agree but I'm assigned to village as their huntsman." Mr. Megumi replied.
"Well there's left saving, Ms. Ozaki was killed after being mistaken for a shifter alongside her family. Riots are spreading and we can't use dust on them because I'll get kicked out of the job...we're trying to be civilized here." He continued.
"Okay then, since your the most respected huntsman here, I'm quite sure we'd slip past by them." Ms. Ikari said with the group nodding.
"Fine, tomorrow we move out."
The next day.
Aqua and her family gets out of the house alongside Asuka and Shinji following them. The town is nearly deserted for some reason, probably others must have thought the same thing. Everything is all worn down or destroyed or vandalized by looters. A sign reads demon on a house written in blood, its obvious someone killed a person to do this. Aqua gulps at the horrors alongside Asuka and Shinji. They hear muttering now causing them to stop.
"That old bastard..." The voice muttered as Mr. Megumi readies his crossbow. The voice is coming from an old alley way so he signals his family to stop in order to keep them from harms way. He slowly walks towards the voice as it becomes apparent it a very familiar one.
"Ms. Maeda...?" He called to see a woman with short dark blue hair in front of him. She looks up to reveal she has the same eyes as a Grimm now.
"Eren...Eren has melted...I can't die...I can't die...I can't be with my son in the afterlife..." On her arm is a wound that is leaking out some kind of smoke coming from it.
"Look you...you can come with us..." Mr. Megumi reaches his hand out to her.
"I need to turn again..." She replied.
"You don't need to turn..." He assured only for Ms. Maeda to rise up causing the black smoke coming from her wound to take her over and begin to take shape now. Mr. Megumi stands back as Ms. Maeda has turned into a nevermore now and gives a gut wrenching screech that is enough to break a sound proof glass. The villagers spot the Grimm beast while they are killing they are killing another Grimm shifter named Nao Yasumori for infecting her family so they can be Grimm shifters. The woman grew up in an alcoholic household and never wanted to be alone again ever since she fell in love with her childhood friend.
"Please forgive me for turning! It was not my intentions!" She begged only for the villager to pin her against the ground with a lance stabbed through her chest. The dark blue-haired woman screamed in pain but even more at the sight of her dead family impaled on the lances.
"Torch the bitch!" A villager yelled and pulls out a fire dust mixed with a Molotov cocktail. He throws it on the ground causing the dead family and Nao to get set on fire with her screaming. They run towards the Ms. Maeda in her Grimm form while converging paths with the families.
"Hey more shifters! Get them!" They run towards Asuka, Shinji and Aqua only to be blocked by Ms. Megumi.
"I won't let you hurt them! Aqua, lead them out of the village now!" She warned.
"But Mom-"
"Go before-" A villager stabs her in the stomach causing her father turn around with Mr. Ikari. The three run away as they ignore the sounds of screaming and blunt object bludgeoned against there parents heads. Chaos is erupting the streets as most people can't tell who's a Grimm shifter or a human now, they run past by looters and rapists who are ignoring them. They spot Nao being burned alive by the fire dust which gives Aqua an idea, she gets a bucket of water nearby and douses the fire off of Nao. Though appear to be dead, Nao is unconscious.
"Come on, this way!" She ordered as they run off. They manage to get out of the village successfully and stop for a rest. Asuka breaks down in tears knowing her mother and father are dead alongside Shinji and Aqua's.
"Look we have to keep moving or else they'll find us..." Aqua begged as she doesn't want to get killed.
2 weeks later.
Aqua, Shinji and Asuka walk in the road after they successfully escaped there village, they couldn't sleep nor eat at the moment because of the shock from the horrors they seen. Grief is beginning to turn into anger and anger is turning into ambition...and that ambition is revenge. They stop for a rest after getting new clothes from there bags.
"This is bullshit..." Asuka growled alongside Shinji.
"Quit complaining, we're almost there to the nearest village." Aqua hissed as she is tired of them.
"I say we go back to our village." Shinji had to say it, revenge is in there hearts now except for Aqua who wants nothing to do with it. Aqua knew that they came a long way and it would all go to waste once they turn back.
"And what? Kill everyone? Kill out friends?" Aqua implored knowing that the life they once had is gone and there's no point in taking it back now.
"Yes! They persecuted us and they'll what's coming to them! Join us Aqua, we can take back what is ours!" Asuka begged as there is madness in her eyes.
"No! I won't throw all of this away!" Aqua spat back.
"Humans are nothing but paranoid scum, they deserve death!" Shinji yelled.
"Fine then...you go on your little petty revenge mission!" Aqua turns around and leaves the two.
Present.
"Did you see them ever again?" Ener asks Aqua as they sat in a restaurant where Aqua told him to meet her yesterday. Aqua never saw her friends after that fateful day and regretted her decision, in fact, throughout her eternity, she made horrible decisions though there was one good one. In fact there were two but that's a different story for now.
"No, I never did." She replied as she sipped her coffee.
"But Ener, you need to keep your ability secret. The presence of a shifter brings about chaos and disorder." Aqua advised as she doesn't want Vale to burn to ground due to paranoia.
"I agree with that..." Ener replied as he sipped his coke.
"Tell me though, what does the Grimm cult want with the knights?" He asks.
"I'm...lets just say I'm a part of a bigger puzzle, now our training grounds will be in forever fall."
With Blake.
Blake hasn't slept for days now as she wants to bring down the white fang and Torchwick. It becomes apparent that anger is getting to her, the new science teacher comes in after the old one retired. In front of them is a woman with long blue hair, wearing a long sleeved shirt, glasses on her eyes and blue pants with sneakers.
"Good morning class, my name is..." She writes her name on the board.
"Nao Yasumori."
With Norris.
Norris waits patiently for the train to arrive as he set up a date with Velvet. Nearby is a girl probably his age with long red hair and is wearing a beanie hat complete with worn out clothing. Its obvious she's homeless so Norris pulls out some lien and gives it to her. She lifts her head to Norris.
"Take it." He smiled as its 5,000 lien. The girl takes the bar of money as she couldn't believe it.
"T-Thank you..." The train arrives as the girl wipes away her tears and smiles.
"I guess things are looking up to me now...but money can't get my friends back...man your so greedy, Asuka." She removes her hat and goes to the nearest food place to get a meal.
With Ryka.
Ryka Cetus has beaten Blake's record in not sleeping, her eyes are all bloodshot now and bags on her eyes are getting worse now. Its almost as if she is turning into a zombie, she begins to ponder on how her life went wrong...and its all linked to him. Him who pursued team ENRG, him who played with the hopes of many, him who...is a member of the white fang: Adam Taurus.
"Faunus bastard..." She muttered as she got up from her old bed in the former dorm of team ENRG. Ryka walks over to team CRDL's room and instead of knocking, she slams her head against the door.
"Cardin, Cardin...!" Ryka slams her head again causing Cardin to open the door.
"Ryka what is it? Oh jeez you smell!" He covered his nose in disgust.
"That isn't important now...tell Blake I beat her. I know how to take down the white fang." She replied and turns around so she can extract her revenge, Ryka heads to the jet bay and it flies her to town. She looks at the view of Vale with the same crazed look and picks up the gasoline nearby.
"Faunus bastard..." Ryka muttered as the jet lands and she gets out of it. She makes her way into the docks to find the white fang HQ again, according to Blake they moved so it has to be in the shady parts of town. She walks past the cars and the people walking.
"Faunus bastard..." The phrase is reminding her of her goal now. Ryka finds the white fang HQ in front of her and knew this is the place where they conduct experiments on children too so they can be super-soldiers. She jams the door in front of her and heads up to the window. Ryka waits for the new recruits to head out...and spills a load of gasoline on top of the soldiers.
"Hey what the hell!?" A soldier yelled, she spreads them all while Ryka is laughing.
"HAHAHAHAHA! I beat you Faunus bastard! You'll never hurt anyone again Adam Taurus!" She laughed as she pours gasoline on her arm. Ryka pulls out a light and spreads it into the room with her hand engulfed in flames. She looks up into the sky.
"I win...Faunus bastard..." She smiled as the fire takes over her arm and her body soon engulfed in flames now. Something pushes off of the fire but she doesn't care, her savior is too late and now she'll burn. Ryka continues smiling but see's her savior that she has white hair.
