Luke's POV:
As soon as I heard the high pitched scream I knew it was Thalia. I instantly rushed out of the house and to where I saw her lying in a pool of her own blood, with an arrow sticking out of her chest. I looked around, scanning the surrounding area for the shooter but whoever had shot this arrow was long gone by now. I gently picked her up and carried her bridal style back to the house. I saw that her eyelids were starting to flutter shut so I tried to keep her alert and awake.
"Thalia, stay with me Thalia. I need you to stay with me Thalia. You need to stay awake." I yelled at her because her eyelids were now starting to flutter shut.
"Luke⦠I need to tell you something, something important." Thalia hoarsely whispered to me but she was interrupted by a sudden cough attack. A couple of moments after she recovered she tried to talk again. "Luke, I l-love you." As Thalia said this she had one last cough and I could feel her body go limp in my arms.
"Luke, get her inside. Luke!" I could hear a muffled voice call out to me but I wasn't paying any attention to it. All I was focussing on was Thalia had just said she loved me and now she was probably dead.
I felt her weight being taken off of my arms and I snapped back to reality. I saw Percy carrying her back inside beside Will. I hastily walked back inside with them in time to see them place Thalia on the bench. Will did a quick check of her pulse and quickly moved onto CPR. Will did 30 compressions then two breaths. He did this five times over the course of two minutes. After he finished the fifth cycle and Percy was about to jump in and start CPR Will shook his head, signalling for Percy to stop.
"There's no point. She's gone."
Nico's POV:
I had been sitting at the Gryffindor table when I felt it. I heard a ringing in my ears and a shudder pass through me. This one was worse than most of them. This one made me want to curl up in a ball and hide from the world. As soon as it had started I knew that it had to be one of the people on the quest.
That one of them had died.
I hastily stood up from my seat and quickly walked out of the Great Hall. On my way out I felt someone touch my arm and I could faintly hear them say something but I just pulled my arm out of their grip and ran towards the forbidden forest.
I had just reached the tree line when the ringing in my ears drowned out all of my other senses. I couldn't see properly, I couldn't walk properly and I couldn't even stand properly. The ringing in my ears didn't stop though, it kept on getting louder and louder until my body finally gave in and I lost consciousness.
"Nico, do you hear me?" I snapped out of my thoughts about the quest and what was happening and looked around me. It has been four hours since I woke up in the forbidden forest and I was currently sitting at some pub or whatever in Hogsmeade with Amy, Tyler, Katie, Travis, Connor and Ginny.
I haven't told the others about what happened at breakfast because I haven't really had a chance and how do you tell someone that you can feel whenever someone close to you dies?
I quickly shook my head, trying to get all of these thoughts out of my head and focus on the present and the people sitting around me.
I took a sip of my drink and tried my best to join in the conversation but my mind was constantly trying to figure out ways to get in contact with the others.
An hour later I was standing in the middle of Trafalgar square, I had just shadow travelled here from Hogwarts and I needed to get to the subway. There were cars everywhere and when I tried to cross the road I almost got run over.
"Hey watch it kid!" Some arrogant asshole yelled at me from his car.
"You're the one driving on the wrong side of the road." I muttered under my breath. I seriously hate these damn English people for driving on the other side of the road, I mean, it makes no sense!
I had finally managed to cross the road and was now heading into the subway or the 'Tube' as these weird British people call it. Once I was on the platform I checked to see how long it would be until the next train and to my delight it was another ten minutes away. I quickly hopped down onto the tracks and started walking east.
"Hey you! What do you think you're doing? Do you want to get killed?" A shrill female voice yelled at me from the platform. I clicked my fingers and envisioned the mortal seeing me as a bird (a back raven) and continued walking away.
At first I thought the mist had worked. And that the mortal was still on the platform but when I felt a sharp tug on my elbow I was forced to turn around.
"What the hell dude? I have no idea who you are but seriously if you don't want to die get back onto the platform!" She yelled at me. I couldn't see her face in the dim light from the tunnel but I think she was around five inches smaller than me. I was astonished that she was here standing beside me, she must be able to see through the mist and she must've followed me here.
"Look, just leave me alone. Go back up to the platform and forget you ever saw me here." I said trying to pull my arm away from her grip but it remained stationary.
"No I'm not going without you coming with me! I will not have your death on my guilt list just because you're an inconsiderate asshole!" She yelled at me, still refusing to let go of my arm.
"I'm not going to die! I just need to get to a storage unit down this track." I told her, slowly losing my patience with her. She didn't even know who I was and she was sticking her nose in my business. I just wanted her to leave me alone!
"Why? Why do you need to get to this storage unit so badly?" She asked me, her grip on my arm was loosening slightly.
"That's none of your business." I said sharply and turned to walk away but she still had my elbow.
"Fine then. If you're not going to tell me then I'm coming with you."
"NO! Just leave me alone!" I yelled at her and gave a sharp tug on my elbow, finally getting it out of her grip. I turned on my heel and started to walk away from her and towards the storage unit that I knew was there.
There was only one problem though, I hadn't accounted for the amount of time I would be talking to that annoying girl, so now the train was hurtling towards me and over a hundred miles per hour. If I ran I would be able to get to the storage unit in time but I couldn't just leave the girl. Sure I didn't know her and she was annoying as hell but I couldn't. I knew that if I left her she wouldn't be able to make it back to the platform in time, so I did the stupid thing. I raced back to her, picked her up, like a piggy back, and ran as fast as my legs could carry me, towards the storage unit. Which also happened to be towards the train.
