A/N: I'm back! I know it hasn't been long since I posted, but this chapter is fairly short, yet, hopefully, pretty exciting. Pretty soon, I will probably take longer to write chapters, but recently, I've had a big flow of ideas. So thanks!

Disclaimer: If I owned HP, I probably would've messed it up somehow because no one is as good as J.K. Rowling! Don't deny it!

Weeks and weeks went by and Hermione spent them all at the Burrow, laughing and having a good time with the some of the people she loved most in life. She soaked in every word of Draco's romantic letters to her. She talked to her stomach, read to it, too. Life seemed wonderful and relaxing.

But then, something awful happened.

Hermione was walking down the stairs for breakfast one morning when she tripped. She fell down a few steps and hit her head, falling to the floor, knocked out.

The Weasley's immediately took her to St. Mungo's, then alerted Draco, who risked his entire career to visit her in the hospital.

The look in his eyes when he burst into Hermione's room in St. Mungo's was determined and a little bit scared. He raced over to her side and clasped her hand in his.

"Hermione." he whispered. "Please, Hermione, please be okay."

Almost an hour later, when Draco was still holding her hand, Hermione's eyes fluttered open.

Draco didn't wait any time at all. He smashed his lips into hers, but she pushed him away.

"Get off me, ferret!" she screeched.

"Is that supposed to be a joke?" he asked. "Hermione, don't mess with me, you don't know how much I've missed you-"

"Missed me? And isn't my name Granger? Aren't I a mudblood to you? Get away!" she replied, truly looking horrified.

After Draco tried not to stress and took a deep breath, he called the doctor in.

Healer Zummer did a full examination on Hermione, then pulled Draco to the side of the room.

"Well?" he asked impatiently.

"Let's start off with the good news. The babies were not affected by her fall."

Draco sighed a breath of relief, but continued to worry. "What about her?"

"Well," Healer Zummer sucked in a breath. "She has lost all memories of the past year."

"What?!" Draco screamed.

"Calm down, we don't want to frighten her." she said hastily. "I have figured out it is a temporary loss and will only affect her for a few weeks, until she'll return to normal."

"Will it happen gradually?"

"No, in a snap, she'll have all her memories back."

"I can't believe this happened. I can't believe I wasn't there, I could've prevented this, oh, it's all my fault and-"

"Stop right there, Mr. Malfoy. Your wife will be just fine, but for now, take it easy and slow with her. She still greatly dislikes you."

"Of course." he said. "What am I supposed to do? I can't leave her like this."

"I suggest you take care of her and take things slow. I could arrange for it to count as part of your training."

"Really?"

"Yes. Your first assignment is to tell her the events of the past year and that she has lost her memory. I'll tell her to listen to you and then I'll leave you two alone."

She did as she said she would and left. Draco took a seat in a chair next to Hermione's hospital bed.

"I know you probably hate me right now, but please just listen." Draco began. Hermione glared. "Well, it all started at the beginning of school, when Dumbledore announced that a marriage law would be put into place so that we could rebuild the population of wizards we lost in the war. The Ministry assigned us partners, and well, we got each other. We hated the idea at first, of course. We had to share a room, and a bathroom, and so arguing wasn't really going to work. We tried to be civil with each other, and it eventually lead to friendship. I had developed feelings for you over time, but you didn't know it until I tried to kiss you, which failed dramatically, I might add. You tried to sort out your feelings for me. You were worried that if you fancied me and took our friendship further, I would break your heart and we'd have to be married forever, both of us mad at each other.

"In the end, though, we fell in love, got married. In March, it was announced that you were pregnant. A few weeks later, we found out it was twins. We don't know the genders. You didn't want to know, but I keep hoping for girls. You're due to have them in late November.

"After you successfully took your N.E.W.T.s, you made a list of ten things you wanted to accomplish in your last two weeks of Hogwarts. It was quite an adventure. We then graduated, and two days after we moved into our new home together, I left for Healer Training Camp. You spent a week at the home furnishing it, before going to the Weasley's and spending a few weeks there. On your way to breakfast this morning, though, you fell down the stairs and hit your head. Now you can't remember a thing that happened this past year and it's breaking my heart." he finished.

She was silent. "Are you serious?" she asked finally.

"Yes. Completely, wholeheartedly." he replied.

"I can't believe this." she whispered to herself. "This is impossible."

"No it isn't."

"I can't believe I actually fell in love with you. You're a Death Eater!"

He cringed.

"You've been mean to me ever since I met you!"

"Don't you remember those times in the library, during storms or when I needed help with homework?"

She snorted. "Those were nothing."

"They were everything!" he protested. "Hermione, you mean so much to me. In a few weeks, you'll get back your memory and realize how silly you're being."

"It's not my fault!"

"Of course not, but you don't have to be so plain rude to me. I love you, and you've seemed to forgotten that you love me."

"I don't believe I could have ever loved you." she said simply.

There was now a dent in Draco's heart. "Well, who's the ring on your finger from, then, huh? Whose babies are those in your stomach?"

She sucked in a sharp breath. "This can't be happening."

"Tell me about it."

"Can I ask you a question?" she asked quietly.

"Of course."

"Who's Ron with now?"

"Why do you want to know that?"

"Because."

"Fine. He's married to Lavender and she's pregnant."

"What?!" Hermione screamed. "But- but- is everyone pregnant? Ron and Lavender just broke up, though!"

"Why are you so distressed by this?"

"Why do you think?"

"You don't... like Ron, do you?" Draco asked shakily.

"Well, no not really, but sort of, this past year I kind of did, but I got over it when he ditched me."

"So you don't like him anymore?"

"I'm getting over it." she said cautiously.

He huffed. Draco couldn't help it that he was annoyed that his one true love had crushed on Weasley.

"If I remember correctly, you liked Pansy." she articulated.

He grimaced, recalling those days where Pansy would drool over him.

"Whatever. It's not like that anymore."

"Are Ginny and Harry together?"

"Yes. They're expecting a son they've already named Toby James Potter."

"Good. They're meant to be together."

"We are, too."

"No."

"You'll come around."

She shook her head. "Now would you mind leaving? I'm feeling awfully tired, I think I'll sleep…"

Draco heart clenched. "Whatever." he said, leaving.

All the Weasley's were sitting nervously in the hall.

Harry popped up, Ginny at his side. "How did it go? Is she okay?" Harry asked.

"At least she can remember how much she loves you all." Draco said, shuffling his feet. He tried to walk off, but Harry grabbed his arm.

"What happened?" he asked seriously, but also kindly.

"She's lost her memory of the past year."

Even though Draco said it quietly, all the Weasley's seemed to hear. There were many gasps, followed by silence.

"W-what?" Ginny sputtered.

"She'll get it all back in a few weeks, but for now, we're going to have to fill her in." Draco choked. "She forgets everything of the past year."

"You mean she forgets that she loves you?" Harry asked.

Draco nodded meekly.

"Wow." Ron said. "Poor Hermione."

Lavender nodded next to him.

"I'm going home." Draco announced. "See you all later."

"What about Hermione?"

"I'm sure she'll be wanting to spend some time with you."

Before anyone could say anything else, he ducked out of the hallway and went back to his home. They one he was supposed to be sharing with Hermione.

When he stepped in, he was amazed. Hermione had done such a nice job on the first floor. She had incorporated both of their styles. It was beautiful.

He wanted to cry. He couldn't tell her how proud of her he was for the decorations, for she wouldn't remember it. He couldn't nag her about the twins being girls, for she wouldn't laugh. The most amazing year of his life had disappeared in her mind. All his hard work to finally get his dream girl…

Then he had an idea. He did it once, why couldn't he do it again? It was decided. Draco was going to get Hermione to fall in love with him all over again.
