Today My Life Begins
Chapter 26
Pulling up in my driveway, I see Jasper's truck there and smile.
I grab my bags and hurry inside.
"Jasper?" I yell out.
"In here." comes his muffled voice from my shower.
I grab the card and walk towards my room, confused as to why he's here, he was supposed to work all weekend. But I'm not about to complain, it's just sooner I get to tell him about our bundle of joy.
He's walking into the bedroom wrapped in a towel as I walk in.
"Hey babe." he kisses me. "Sorry for the last minute surprise, but I got Steve to cover for me. I told him you weren't feeling well." he smiled as he slipped on his boxer briefs.
"Well, you're not too far off." I shrugged and handed him the card.
He gave me an angry look.
"What is this Bella?" he snapped.
"It's not bad Jasper. Please, just open it." I sat in the middle of the bed.
He opened the card and read it twice before it hit him.
He looked at me and smiled.
"Really? We're going to be parents? You're pregnant?" he climbed on top of me and kissed me senseless.
"Yes." I finally breathed out.
"Bella, you've made me so happy. I can't even tell you." he kissed me again. "What did the doctor say?" he asked.
"I have to watch my stress, take my vitamins, eat right, etc…" I told him.
"I want you in Seattle with me, please. I'm begging you. I want to marry you, I want to do everything right this time. Please Bella, please." he pleaded.
"Jasper, there's no rush." I sighed.
"But there is… I want us to be married before the baby comes, to be a family and to try and get full custody of Lulu once and for all. I need for us to be complete." he started pacing.
"This isn't something we should be fighting over Jasper." I started crying.
"I didn't mean to make you cry. I just want us to be complete family. I think it'd be helpful it have Lulu settled and to have a house and everything set up before the baby came. It will be so much harder afterwards." he stressed and knelt in front of me again to hold my hands.
"OK. But for the record, I don't need to marry you to love you, Jasper. I love you either way." I told him honestly.
"Bella, you've made me the happiest man in the world." he smiled.
"Just don't break my heart again, please." I kiss him softly. Hurt crossed his features and he places his hands on my stomach.
"I pray everyday that I didn't stray and that Lulu would have been ours and Storm too. Neither of us would have had to experience that hurt. But for some reason we did and we came out on top.
We're here for a reason. We're meant to be." he lays his head on my stomach.
Running my hands through his hair I hum in agreement.
"Well then I guess I need to get things in order around here, don't I?" I sigh.
He sits up "Really? You'll move to Seattle?" he smiles.
"That's what married couple do." I nod. "We've got to find a big house, Lulu will need a room, plus our little one and a big backyard for Magnus here." I patted his head.
"I'll start looking!" he picked me up and carried me to the room after slipping a ring on my finger.
"I hope you like it. It's nothing fancy, I know you don't like fancy." he rambled.
"Jasper, it's perfect." I smiled.
We celebrated all night and in the morning Jasper and I started talking abou the move and he got on the phone with his lawyer, telling him he needed to work double time in getting Lulu back after the wedding.
We called everyone else and filled them in on the wedding plans, which were going to be small and intimate and were going to be happening at the little getaway we stayed at in less than a month.
"Honey that's great! I'm glad he's happy and you two can move forward." my dad smiled into the phone.
"Me too. There's so much to do in a month though." I sighed.
"Don't stress. We'll help with whatever we can and so will Rose and Emmett. And if worse comes to worse, you have his apartment to start out in." my dad reasoned.
"Yeah, that's something Jasper does not want though. We're trying desperately to get Lulu as well, he wants his complete family." I sighed.
"Well he needs to provide not only a safe home, but a happy home for that, so you all need to be happy." my dad, always the voice of reason.
"I know dad and he knows too. We want just the right house." I smiled into the phone.
"OK baby girl. You take care and we'll see you soon. Love you." he kissed the phone before hanging up.
I told Jasper I had work to do at the factory today and he insisted on joining me, also he asked if this was going to be normal.
I assured him that I'd have to make a trip a few times a month to here and Forks, but they'd be at the same time so I didn't have to make the trip more than once and that made him happy.
"Maybe we can make them on my days off so we can go together, that way we can visit your dad too." he smiled.
"Sounds like a great idea, especially if you can schedule two days in a row once we have to kids. You know dad and Sue would love that." I laughed.
"Oh yeah! Grandma and grandpa." he nodded.
He twirled me around and Magnus barked at that.
We looked through some houses but nothing caught our eye yet, we still had time and our realtor was on it as well.
I think things were going to work out just fine the second time around.
And I couldn't wait to meet little Lulu when the time came.
I think a trip to Texas after the wedding was in store, no matter what Alice's parents thought, Jasper needed to stand up to them once and for all and his lawyer needed to get on the ball.
