Sorry for not updating yesterday! I went to watch a movie then I had to catch up on my school work. Anyway, here's the next chapter. One review request was that they wanted to know what Rossi and Spencer were talking about so there's a bit of a flashback here. Plus, dear reviewer who said that Rossi doesn't call JJ by her name, I know that. Melanie was at the door and Rossi felt it was a bit personal calling her JJ in front of somebody who calls her Jennifer.

Anyway, onto the chapter. The first bit is a flashback x

There was a knock on the door and Spencer looked up from the TV, pausing it.

"Come in." he called out.

The door opened and David Rossi entered, a smug smile on his face. "Ah, our young genius has time to watch TV."

Spencer chuckled as he stretched. "Since I can't work. I'm stuck in bed doing nothing. Apart from reading Indian dialects and this 'Numbers' show."

"Do you understand what is going on?" The older man referred to the show as he sat down in the armchair in the corner of the room.

Spencer shrugged. "I guess. It's interesting. At least now I can join in when you guys talk about TV shows and all." he replied, making the older man laugh.

"So, how's our young genius doing?" David asked, sitting forward.

"I'm good. I feel a bit empty but I guess that's to be expected." Spencer mumbled, picking at the hem of his comforter.

"Do you feel like you're not needed any more?"

Spencer's eyes widened as he looked up at his colleague. "I... All I've been lately is a burden. JJ's barely sleeping because she has to look after Henry and me. But I don't want her to look after me. I don't really need her to 'mom' me. I need her to be my-" he stopped himself from slipping.

"Friend?" David finished, not understand his sudden halt.

"Yes, that." Spencer replied. "Then Sandy's been on my case as well. I'm just hoping I'm good enough to go back to work. Then at least I can take control and be myself."

"You're not yourself with JJ?" David asked, surprised.

"No. I mean, yes. No, urgh! I mean, I'm not the Spencer she used to know. I'm different. I can feel it but I'm not sure if she knows that. She expects me to know everything we've done together since we first met and it's not like I don't remember..."

"It makes you look back at who you used to be." David sighed, understanding. "Reid... You were an intelligent man. Hell, you still are. But, when things like this happen... they change a person but they can't change what's in their hearts."

"What do you mean?"

"I see the way you look at her. I also see the way she looks at you. I'm not blind to see there's love between you guys."

Spencer blushed as he looked down. "Yeah... we're, uh, dating."

"Just dating?" David teased, making Spencer blush an even darker shade of red. "I'm just kiddin' with ya. I'm happy for you two, I really am. You've both waited this long for it and I say that you deserve it. I hope next time I see you, you would have put a ring on her finger."

Spencer's mouth opened wide to retort as he was blushing but a yell from outside stopped him.

"Rossi?!"

"JJ..." Spencer whispered.

"I'll go see what she wants. Don't worry, kid." Rossi stood up and patted Spencer's shoulder before leaving the room.

So that's the 'flashback' part. Onto the next part. Thanks for your patience as well!

"I managed to call Jeremiah. He's on his way. But for now, the twins are staying here." JJ said as she walked through the front door of her home later that night.

"Are you okay, JJ?" David asked, hanging his coat up.

"I really don't know... Dinner should be ready, it's past 8." JJ replied, walking into the dining room to see Henry, his friends, Spencer and Sandy at the table already eating.

"Sorry we didn't wait for you two. The kids have their bedtimes to abide to." Sandy said.

"It's okay, we didn't expect you to wait." JJ said, kissing Henry's head then Spencer's before taking a seat beside her boyfriend.

David sat beside Sandy and brought his plate closer to him. "Hmm, yummy." he said, making the children minus Kevin giggle.

"It really is! Mrs Sandy makes really good food!" Kimmy said, grinning.

"My grandma sure does." Henry agreed. Kevin stayed quiet as he picked his food. "I'm happy I get to stay past my bedtime! Momma was about to let me go to sleep without dinner!"

"Because you said that you were 'so full' and wanted to hit the hay after playing with your toys." JJ replied, stuffing a piece of vegetable into her mouth.

"Fine momma! Don't talk like that in front of Kimmy!"

"Like what?" JJ chuckled.

"Like you're telling me off!" Henry pouted.

"I think it's cute." Kimmy grinned, making Henry blush.

"I see somebody's future wedding." Sandy sang, making the adults laugh.

"What?" Kimmy asked, confused.

"Don't worry, Kimmy. Adults are weird." Henry replied.

"So, Spencer," Sandy started, taking a sip of her wine. "When are you going back to work?"

"Ask David that." Spencer replied, smirking at the man.

"Well?" Sandy asked.

"A couple of months. I don't know when!" David replied, raising up his hands.

Sandy chuckled. "It's just that I'm starting to get sick of Spencer watching that Alphabet show and not doing anything productive."

"Hey! I read other than watch TV. And it's 'Numbers'!" Spencer said, making JJ laugh.

"Alphabet, Numbers... Same thing!" Sandy said, rolling her eyes playfully. "Just go with JJ for a morning run or something. Do something other than stay in bed."

"Mom, you're not his mother." JJ chuckled.

"But I am his temporary carer. Have to make sure he's eating, getting exercise, the lot."

"Oh, Spence." JJ smiled.

Kind of a filler chapter x
