My hands gripped the cold bars and I took a deep breath in.

I let go of the bars and my hands formed fists. This was not what I had wanted, this wasn't how it was supposed to be. I know that people think what I did was wrong and unfair to my son, but I don't see it. I have never confessed to being sane, but I did have my ambitions. He was my ambition.

Too bad that boy came along and ruined everything.

I walked over to my bunk and sat down on the edge. I placed my head in my hands, this place was hell. My sentence was 35 years but I wasn't stupid. I knew that was a life sentence.

Sometimes I find it hard to believe that I have been here for 10 years, other times it's easy. Sometimes, I am incredibly angry at my son and his faggot boyfriend for getting me caught, other times I can't really imagine a time when I didn't live in this place.

"Prisoner 3476?"

I looked up to see Miriam Walters the prison warden standing at the iron door of my cell. I ignored her.

"Mr Chase, you have a visitor."

My head snapped up, "What?"

She pursed her lips, "Someone is here to see you. Please come with me."

I looked down. Who could it be? There was no one on this planet who cared about me, let alone enough to visit me here.

Miriam sighed, "Sir, could you please follow me."

I clenched my jaw, assessing the situation. Should I go? Who was there? Finally after much strife and indecisiveness I stood up. Miriam unlocked the door and I followed her down the hall.

"Just sit down here, please." Miriam pulled out a chair at a small wooden table. "There are cameras watching you every move so if make any sort of aggressive descent on the visitor. We will know. Your visitor should be here any moment."

Miriam left, leaving me alone at the small table with two empty seats before me. I squeezed my eyes shut and clenched my fists until I could feel my fingernails digging into my palms.

All of a sudden something moved in front of me and when I opened my eyes a woman was sitting across from me. Despite being in her late twenties, she looked incredibly nervous, so much that I could see that her hands were visibly shaking. She had long blonde curls, flowing down her shoulder and stormy grey eyes. All of a sudden, I realised.

My jaw dropped to the floor, "A-Athena?"

The girl took a deep breath and shook her head, "Y-You don't recognise me?"

I dug my fingernails into my palm some more, I could start to feel them bleed slightly, I studied the woman, then shock washed over me.

My eyes widened, "You."

She bit her lip, "Hey dad."

I looked down at my bloody palms, "I never thought you'd visit."

"To be honest, neither did I." She said, as she fiddled with the hem of her blouse. "But I thought you deserved to know."

I looked up, "Know what?"

She grimaced, but then turned around and called out, "Percy! Come in here."

A man with thick black hair walked in carrying a tiny bundle in his arms. He took a seat, nervously next to… her. She shot him an encouraging look, but he just gripped the bundle tighter.

The woman shot me a tight smile; she then turned to the dark haired man and took the bundle from him. She began to rearrange the blankets at the top of the bundle until it revealed a baby's head.

My jaw dropped, "Is that… Is that a… It's not a…"

The woman smiled, "Yes, dad. This is Percy and I's daughter, Athena."

"Athena." I breathed. I watched in awe as the tiny baby grinned and giggle up at its mother. She smiled proudly down at it and I watched as the man leant over and kissed the woman's temple.

The woman took a deep breath and looked up at me, "Dad would you like to hold her?"

The man looked at the woman alarmed, "Are you sure that's a good idea?"

She bit her lip, "You know… It's strange, but I trust him."

I wiped my palms onto my sweats and a smile played on my lips as I took the tiny baby from her. I held it in my arms and looked into its eyes, they were stormy grey just like its mothers, but dark hair grew on its head. I supposed that trait had come from its father.

I felt myself smile as the baby reached up and touched my face, with its tiny hands. "Athena." I looked up at the baby's parents, "She's so perfect."

They both nodded, "We know."

I started to feel myself well up as I looked down at the beautiful baby in my arms. Even though I had only just seen the baby for the first time, I loved it fiercely and it hurt that I wouldn't be there to watch it grow…. watch her grow.

I suddenly felt sick, I could feel bile rising in my throat and my head began to spin. Thoughts were running through my head a thousand miles an hour. I was reliving the four years before I had gotten arrested from beginning to end.

My eyes drifted up until I was staring the woman in the eyes. "I'm so sorry, Annabeth."

All she did was nod.

What? She's back? Who even is this girl?

Okay guys, it's literally been like 9 months since I've been on fanfiction can you believe it? I hope there is no one out there who is particularly upset at me. But I decided to read my stories again after so long and so I did hahaha! So I read Boy? (which is really badly written by the way, I don't know how all of you guys stand it!) And I was like I'm going to write the prologue and so I did.

I hope you guys liked it, I know it's not very long but this was what it was always going to be, and I didn't really want to drag it out too much. So this story is over and I would just like to thank each and every one of you for supporting my writing and tolerating my TERRIBLE updating and TERRIBLE grammar and etc.

I love all of you so much and you don't understand how happy the reviews make me. You are all such good people and you have all made me very proud to have such fantastic readers.

If you want to read more of my stuff, go to my profile and read Lucid Love because I will be starting that story up again soon!

Wow I can't believe this is over…

Well, goodbye everyone. I LOVE YOU!

Love Emily xx
