"There's really going to be another world's martial arts tournament?" Mint asked. She was currently having a conversation with Lazuli of the past.
"Yeah, you should come back for a bit and enter. I'm entering, and so is Krillin." She insisted. "They even have a junior division, so you can see your little brother fight as well."
This peeked her interests. "Junior division huh… Hmm… Maybe I should enter Ocha..."
"What, no way, Ocha is only three isn't she?" Lazuli snapped.
Mint giggled. "Hey you're forgetting who her grandfathers are. If she's old enough to walk she's old enough to train. Ocha isn't interested in fighting battles or anything, but she enjoys sparring every now and then. It's like a game to the little munchkin. Besides, Gohan started training when he was four, didn't have much choice but he did great." She rubbed her chin. "Then again, Ocha's never been in a tournament before..." She scratched her cheek. "I'll have to ask her about what her thoughts are on it." She smirked at Lazuli. "How come you're entering, big prize money?"
"You know me so well." Lazuli said dryly.
"We aren't best friends for nothing. Oh hey how's Marron?"
"Still as energetic as ever." She raised an eyebrow. "Are you coming or not? You seem more interested in Ocha entering than yourself." Mint gave an uneasy expression. "What's wrong?"
"Well..."
Lazuli blinked, staring at the purple-eyed time traveler through the screen. Her eyes widened. "No. You haven't retired from fighting have you?"
"What? No no! Me? Psh, as if!" She laughed. "I haven't retired, I'm just not sure if me entering would be fair." She laughed. She pouted. "Although it would be nice to be the strongest in the universe again. Papa has surpassed me again, and Gohan seems close to achieving Super Saiyan 2."
"Mama-tan! I found a bunny!"
Mint sweatdropped. "Ocha found a bunny apparently." Lazuli chuckled. "Tell you what, Lazuli. I'll think about it. If I decide to show up, it'll be a surprise."
"Deal, I'll see you later."
"But I didn't say-" Lazuli hung up. "Dang it that woman always gets the last word." She sighed. She looked at her daughter who had a fluffy spotted bunny nibbling on a carrot in her lap. "Ocha where did you find that little guy?"
Ocha smiled at her mother. "Under the house." She chirped innocently. Ocha giggled when the bunny crawled onto her head. "Mama-tan, what's a tourmanet?"
Mint chuckled. It was always so adorable when Ocha mispronounced words. "A tournament is a competition with a great prize. The one I was talking about was a fighting competition."
"What's the prize? Is it candy?" She asked, her large eyes sparkling at the idea.
Mint smiled. The child's mind was always on candy. "No, it's money."
"We already have money." She yawned, quickly losing interest in favor of playing with her bunny. Ocha watched as the bunny hopped away before following, hopping on all fours after it.
Hmm...I guess she's out… Maybe I should enter...I'd have to be careful of course. She thought. She put a hand on her stomach. "I'm hungry."
Goten looked up at the blonde android excitedly. "Oneechan is really coming to enter the competition?!"
"How long have you been here?" Lazuli asked.
"That isn't important." He laughed. "Is she really coming?"
Lazuli looked to the side. "Maybe. Knowing your sister, she'll have trouble resisting the temptation of a tournament." She looked down at him. "But I'm not guaranteeing anything so don't get your hopes up too high." Goten's tail was wagging a mile a minute.
"This is gonna be so awesome! I'm gonna win so Oneechan will be super impressed!" He ran out the house.
Lazuli sweatdropped. "When did he even come in..." She muttered to herself.
Goten flew on Nimbus towards his best friend's house. "Trunks! Hey Trunks!" He landed in front of him.
"What's up Goten? I was just sparring with my dad but if you wanna go I'm up for it."
"No, I have awesome news!" Goten cheered.
"An all you can eat buffet has opened up at the new dessert restaurant?"
"No way this is better than food!" Goten was surprised when Trunks put his hand on his head, then placing the other on his own. "What are you doing?" He asked.
"Checking your temperature. I can't believe you said something was better than food. You must be sick." He explained. Goten sweatdropped. When he thought about it, it was an odd statement from him.
"I'm not sick, but this really is better than food!"
Trunks raised an eyebrow. "Ok, then tell me already."
Goten was almost bouncing. "My big sister may be coming for the tournament!"
All ears in the house perked, Vegeta's in particular. The Saiyan prince appeared behind the two suddenly. "Excuse me, who is coming for the tournament?"
Goten looked up at him. "Lazuli-san said that Oneechan will be coming to the tournament! Or, that she's thinking about it anyway! She said that knowing my sister, she won't be able to resist the temptation!"
Vegeta's lips twitched slightly as he fought a smile. "So she's returning huh? Probably only for a day like that fool, Kakarott." Goten and Trunks blinked and looked at each other. "I look forward to it."
The boys grinned. "Are you going to fight her Dad?"
"To be honest I don't care much for fighting her." He looked at the confused boys. "Unlike your weakling older brother, she probably hasn't stopped training in favor of studying. If that's the truth, she'd probably kick my ass." Saying the boys were shocked by how easily Vegeta admitted that was an understatement.
"No way Dad you're like the strongest person in the world, you can't seriously think you can be beaten by a girl!" When Vegeta said nothing, Trunks sweatdropped. "Is she really that strong…?" He asked.
Vegeta glared at his son. "Normally I wouldn't admit being inferior to anyone, especially a woman, but this girl truly is something else." He smirked. "Especially if you cut her hair." They blinked at the last statement. "Although considering she has a daughter now, that probably won't have the same effect as it did during the Cell Games. In fact, training might not even be a priority to her anymore." He muttered. Trunks and Goten wondered at this point if Vegeta was still talking to them or just musing to himself. He blinked when he felt their blank stares. "What?" He snapped.
"Vegeta, were you and my sister good friends?" Goten asked curiously.
Vegeta grunted in response. "That's not your business, brat." He glanced at Trunks. "Back to the gravity chamber boy, we're training."
Trunks groaned. "But we just finished three hours of training, I'm hungry!"
"Come on. We can eat after I'm satisfied you've had a proper workout." Trunks pouted as he followed his father back into the chamber, leaving Goten behind. So the brat's finally returning… even if it's temporarily, I look forward to it. He smirked. Surely by now I've surpassed her. After all, I am the Prince of Saiyans. Vegeta was excited. Not only was Kakarott returning, but his brat was coming back as well. He couldn't wait. Finally a proper opponent to test his strength. Yes… that was why he was excited to see Mint. Nothing sentimental about it, he just wanted a good fight.
Mint fought an invisible opponent. Trunks watched, somewhat irritated. "You're really going to the past just to enter a tournament?"
"Why is it a big deal? You went to the past so you could enter a tournament." She stopped and looked at him. "And that was just for the tournament. I want to see my family. Especially my little brother Goten."
"Look, I don't think you should go, and I especially don't think you should take Ocha with you. Usually when there's a tournament something bad usually happens, and I don't want you putting her in danger." Mint's eyebrow twitched and she glared at him.
"Look, I don't know about you, but I can protect Ocha from pretty much anything anyone plans to throw at me." She glared. "And unlike you, I train in times of peace so I can properly protect my daughter."
"I train!" Trunks snapped.
"Occasionally." She scoffed. She glared. "Look, you may be the father of our child, but you're not my boyfriend anymore. If I wanna go, then I'm going, and I'm taking Ocha with me. I want her to be able to meet Goten properly."
He scowled. "You're right, I'm not your boyfriend anymore, but I still think I should have a say in whether or not our daughter goes into another timeline!"
"It's not another timeline, it's where she was born!" Mint folded her arms. "Look, it's not like I'm sending her alone! And for your information, she isn't entering! She's only going to watch! So you don't really have much reason to stop me from taking her with me! We'll be there for like a week, so what the hell is your beef!"
"My beef is that you didn't even bother to consult me about it!"
"I don't have to! According to the court papers, Ocha is in my custody, so I can take her where ever and whenever I want!" She snapped. "If you don't want to come that's fine, but in the meantime, back off."
Trunks glared. "Sometimes I wonder how I ever fell in love with you."
"Oh funny I was just thinking the same thing." She hissed dryly. She looked away. "We used to get along so well, but now all we do when we see each other is argue." She sighed. She ran her fingers through her hair. "Look, I just think it'd be nice to see my original family…" She had her head bowed down, her long hair hiding her face. "It isn't the same here… No matter how you look at it, it isn't the same… they aren't the people I grew up with, they're all different… I want Ocha to see that version of them…" She clenched her fists. She looked up at him with her large, sad purple eyes. Trunks gulped. Her eyes softened, she looked like she was on the brink of tears. "I miss them Trunks…"
Trunks stiffened. Those eyes… they were the eyes he fell in love with. No anger or mischief… just sadness and longing with a glimmer of hope. Even if they weren't together anymore, Trunks could never deny Mint when she looked at him that way. What was worse was that she rarely looked at him this way, she never took advantage of his weakness. Only when she was genuinely upset did she look at him in such a manner. When the first tear fell he cracked and let out a long and heavy sigh.
"Dammit Goran…" He muttered. He pulled her into a gentle hug, surprising her. "Fine, I'll let you go, just stop looking at me like that and don't cry..." He grumbled.
She looked up at him, hugging back. "Ocha too…?" She asked, letting out an unintentional whimper.
Trunks grunted in defeat. "Yes Ocha too..." He sighed, wiping away a tear. "Now no more crying ok? I seriously hate when you cry, it's like getting hit by a Kamehameha of guilt." Mint nodded, wiping her eyes and looking up at him with a small smile.
"Ok then..." She muttered, smiling.
Trunks blushed. It had been a while since he held her so close, or even seen her smile in his direction. Mint stopped smiling, gripping the back of his shirt and just looking into his icy eyes. He was so close, so warm… They blushed deeply when they heard someone clearing their throat. They looked to the side to see a smirking Gohan. They looked back at each other and let go of one another, looking away awkwardly.
"Ah young love." He laughed. "It's only been two months since you two broke up, are the feelings still raw?" Mint and Trunks scowled and walked up to the scarred warrior. Gohan blinked at them. He shrieked when he felt them step on both of his feet. "Ow!"
Mint hummed, packing some clothes that would last a week. She was twenty-one, wearing the clothes she had in the past as a teenager just seemed… inappropriate. "Let's see… It's only a week… Better pack two pajamas for Ocha. Eh..." She paused. "Maybe a few diapers, we're still iffy on potty training..." She sighed. She stood up stretching. "Ocha, Daddy is gonna look after your bunny ok?"
"No, Usagi-chan has to come too!" Ocha whined, hugging her fluffy bunny. "Mama-tan, Usagi-chan has to come!"
Mint rubbed her daughter's head. "Ocha, come on, it's only a week I promise. Daddy will take good care of Usagi, ok?"
Ocha pouted and went up to Trunks. "Daddy, Usagi will be alright?" He chuckled as he took the rabbit from her.
"Your bunny is in good hands." She smiled. "Are you going to be a good girl for me?" He asked, holding out his pinky to her.
Ocha wrapped her pinky around his nodding. "Yes." She chirped.
He nodded, helping her carry her backpack of clothes. He grabbed the large capsule containing the time machine. Trunks stared at it, then at his daughter. He was startled when he felt Mint place a chaste kiss on his cheek.
"It's only a week, you can last that long without seeing her. Besides we still have the communicators." She plucked the capsule out of his hand and tossed it, releasing the time machine. "Alright Ocha, did you say bye to everyone?"
"Almost, Ojīchan won't let me say bye he just walks away." She said. Mint had a feeling she knew which grandfather the child was thinking about. She put two fingers to her head and quickly teleported away, before returning with an annoyed Vegeta.
"Vegeta it's only a week you softy."
"Shut up." He hissed.
Ocha smiled and walked up to her grandfather and held her arms up, asking to be carried. Vegeta scowled before picking the toddler up. "Bai bai Ojīchan." She chirped, wrapping her tail around his arm and kissing his cheek. Vegeta grunted.
"Yeah yeah, see you later brat." He grumbled, putting her down.
"Ojīchan make sure Daddy takes care of my bunny!" She insisted, which only caused Vegeta to glare at her. She laughed and went up to her mother. "Ok Mama-tan."
Mint giggled, thoroughly amused by the blush painted on the Saiyan prince's cheeks. He glared at her when she nearly made a comment on it. So instead she said, "Rok eshk'o mïyo ku." He looked at her. She winked. "Even if it's for a week." She helped her daughter up into the machine before flying into it. "See ya later." She waved a little and pressed a button. As the time machine flew up, she was startled when Lapis suddenly opened the window. "What?"
"Just wanted to give you something." He muttered. Mint blinked, then blushed deeply when he kissed her. Her face turned bright red as he parted and pushed a button and closed the window while she just stared blankly. Ocha giggled as the time machine faded from view. Trunks glared at the former android, who smirked in response. "Relax it was chaste."
Mint stared blankly at her reflection in the window. She blinked. "...What the hell was that!?" Ocha laughed at her mother's late reaction.
Hmm… ok that was interesting. Anyway, sorry it was shortish, but that's what I came up with. Oh btw, my friend rooroobazooka and I are having a cute off between the babies in our stories. For me, it's Ocha, for her it's baby future trunks. So tell us who wins this round. It's my fic versus her. It's called Dealing with the Pain. It has a hand-drawn picture of future Gohan for a cover, in case you forget the title. Anyway we keep in touch so put in your reviews who you think is cuter xD Also, this goes for our previous chapters with the babies on it ok? So feel free to go back to the chapter she was born.
