Fire And Ice
Neusuada: Ahhhhh! Ashe: …What's wrong?
Neusuada: Hikaru and Kaoru! Why didn't they get together?!
Ashe: They're twins? And Hikaru has Haruhi?
Neusuada: -Gasps in horror- No! Never! Never say that! It doesn't matter that they're twins, Haruhi is with Tamaki, AND HIKARU HAS KAORU, DAMN IT!
Ashe: …We own nothing. Oh and to snowgem33, you don't creep us out. We love long reviews, too. Zander killed Zavier...? -Smirks- Who ever said that...? Or maybe that's exactly what happened... Heh... We'll say who it is in the chapter after this. And, if you didn't already guess who Bay is, you get to know in this chapter. Alright. Enjoy the chapter while I consul Neu.
Neusuada: -Gets dragged away- He has Kaoru! He has Kaoruuuuu…!
It was late at night when Bay and Delta could be found walking together on an old dirt road. Delta didn't know why, but Bay had wanted to come to the clearing that the two had first arrived back to this world in. Something about having a dream with a voice telling him to come. Hm. Well, he didn't question it. This was Bay, after all. One doesn't question Bay. The little eleven year old could be terrifying when he wanted.
"What exactly did the voice in your dream say?"
"Something about going to the clearing for...some...thing."
Delta gave him a blank look. "We're going all the way out here for something you can't even remember?"
"It's not my fault I have a bad memory!"
"I know, I know. Ah, we're here."
Looking up, Bay saw that they had indeed found the clearing. It looked the exact same as it had in his dream. The trees, the dirt, even the feel of the wind was the same. Something was going to happen... And it was happening now...
"So..." Delta said, looking around. "What's so important that we had to be here...?"
"He had to be here," a voice said. "Not you."
The two boys spun around, seeing...nothing. ...Well, that was odd.
"Are you the voice from my dream?" Bay asked the air.
"Yes, that would be me," the voice said again.
"Where are you?!" Delta yelled.
"You do not need to know where I am to listen to what I have to say."
"You coward! Just come out!"
"Are you threatening me...?" the voice asked in a dangerous tone.
"Delta..." Bay said worriedly. "Don't-"
"I might be!"
"Do you want to know what I do to people who threaten me...? Especially when they're not who I'm here for...?"
"What?" Delta asked hotly.
Suddenly, the shadow of a man appeared, floating in front of them. A shadow. Just a shadow. Floating. Interesting. Normally, Delta was a lot shyer than this, but he had a feeling that this guy - Shadow, whatever - was out to hurt Bay, and that was something he wouldn't allow to happen.
"I do this."
That was the only warning they got, as the shadow used some sort of magic to hurl half a tree at Delta, throwing him far away from Bay. Bay cried out in alarm and pain. His hand immediately went to the right side of his face, as if that would somehow soothe the pain of getting slashed by the jagged edge of a broken tree branch. Bay pulled his hand back to stare at it. Seeing that it was covered in blood, he mentally cursed. This would probably scar... Bay looked up quickly, suddenly remembering something. Delta. No...
"Delta!"
Bay stumbled over to his friend, trying to see out of just one eye. The blonde fell to his knees next to the brunette, cupping his cheeks and trying to get the boy to open his eyes.
"Delta? Delta?! Come on, come on! Wake up! Please, wake up! Sen!"
The shadow watched as the boy cried over the death of his friend, his tears washing some of the blood off of his face, only to be replaced by more. Pity... It was going to be harder for this boy to trust him now. What a pain...
"Kid?" the shadow asked. Bay didn't answer, but he knew he was listening. "Bay, was it? That name doesn't suit you."
Bay looked up, glaring harshly at him. "Who says?"
"Pan does."
"...What?"
"That's why I came. Apparently, Pan wants you back. He's planning some big stunt to get more kids on the island, and he wants you to help."
Bay opened his mouth to decline, but he was cut off.
"And why would you refuse him? I mean, with your friend gone, what else do you have here? And besides... If you go back to your village covered in the blood of the son of your village's leader, people are sure to blame you... You'll have nowhere to go... And you'll forever be hated... Unless, you come with me. You'd have a family again... Don't you want that...?"
Bay's glare faded into a look of sorrow at the words he knew would end up being true. He would probably get blamed for this... And he really didn't have anything left anymore. Laisrén and Caoilainn would move on, the village would be glad he was gone, and Delta wasn't exactly around anymore, so...
"Okay. Let's go."
Pan and Henry had been standing there in silence for a few minutes, just staring at nothing. Both were thinking of how to start a conversation with the other, but both were feeling too awkward to try. Finally, after another tense moment passed, Pan spoke.
"So... There's someone on the island possessing people. That's, uh..."
"Yeah," Henry agreed awkwardly. "It really is..."
"Henry, I'm sorry for attacking you. I didn't mean to."
"Oh, I know." Henry shifted awkwardly, finding a sudden interest in the mosaic dirt as he stared at the ground. Understanding formed in Pan's eyes.
"Henry... Did you...like that? What I did to you?"
Henry snapped his head up to look at his lover, his cheeks burning. "What?! No! Of course not!"
Peter smirked, backing the boy up against another tree, and using his magic to melt the snow around them. The older boy placed his hands on either side of Henry's head, leaning forward until their lips were mere centimeters apart. Pan pressed their bodies together, making Henry gasp quietly.
"So... You're saying you don't like this...?" Pan slowly started trailing kisses down Henry's neck, earning a slight hitch in Henry's breath. "Do you like it rough, Henry...?"
"Did you step on the ice again...?"
"No, I melted the ice with...heat."
Pan bit into the mark that was already on Henry's neck, making the boy moan and arch his back. Not wanting to let this moment pass him by, Pan sucked and licked at the bruise on his lover's neck, earning another moan. He quickly pressed their lips together, feeling Henry respond after a slight moment of hesitation. Pan wasted no time, quickly pushing his tongue into the boy's mouth of his own free will. Slowly, Pan coaxed Henry into a battle for dominance, a battle that was easily won by the former. Henry groaned when Pan ground their hips together, but when Peter started moving his hands lower, Henry stopped him.
"Wait... Wait, stop," he gasped.
"What's wrong?"
"Not...Not out here. My family...could be anywhere."
"I'm sure they'd like a show," Pan said, grinning widely.
Henry hit his shoulder lightly. "Come on, we should go back to the camp."
"Aw, but why?"
"Isn't that where we typically go after chapters?"
"Oh, yeah. Alright, let's go."
"Let's... Let's talk about pants..."
"Pants...?"
"Shizuo's fine!"
"I get that you're bored, but can you at least make sense?"
Fyre glared at Felix playfully. "Well, fine..."
Felix growled, putting his hand against the new wall they had run into. Knowing that no other way worked, and that this room was obviously empty, the two of them had kept going. Upon finding a bunch of dead ends, Felix was starting to get frustrated.
"I can't believe this! This is the fourth wall we've run into!"
"Oh, calm down, Mr. Grumpy."
"I'm not grumpy..."
"Sure you are. So is Elsa. Geez, our show's getting effed up."
"I thought we were a fanfiction. Now we're a show?"
"Felix, we've always been a show."
Suddenly, the wall in front of them cracked. Fyre got a curious look on her face.
"But we're in a fanfiction now."
The wall cracked again.
"I'm a Mary-Sue!"
The wall cracked a final time, finally crumbling down to reveal a new room. The two climbed inside, brushing dust off of themselves.
"Cool. I just broke the fourth wall."
"So you did."
As they walked around in the new room, Fyre felt strange. She didn't recognize this room, but she still felt like something was going to happen in it. Suddenly, Fyre groaned, clutching her head. She closed her eyes, seeing flashes of different people and places that she'd didn't know. Well... She knew them... But she didn't. She felt like she should know them... She just...didn't. Was this what her mother went through when she saw the future...? Now she felt bad for making her tell them so many stories... Fyre tried to look past the darkness of her vision, to try to make sense of the images she was seeing. Fyre heard voices starting to speak, but she knew they weren't real. They were in her head. She closed her eyes tighter, trying to make out the garbled words and blurry images.
The first one looked like two people sitting on a bench. One had long-ish brown hair, while the other had long black hair. Was that Ryne and Vincent...? Nah, it couldn't be. The two people had to be at least twenty, or maybe a little younger, and the boys she knew were just a bit too young to be the blurry people she saw. Looking deeper into the image, the black haired one was leaning against the other, and was holding something in a blanket. An...elf? Or was it a baby...? Baby, she decided. It was probably a baby. If she looked hard enough, she could just barely make out a six letter word on the blanket. L... Le... Lem... Lenn... Lennox...? Sure. Moving on. The next image was a bit more frightening. It was a boy that looked a lot like Zavier, and he was gasping and choking, lying on the ground and clutching at his chest like he was being stabbed to death by some unknown force. Hm. Oookay. The next one was someone from the back. They had shoulder-length hair, but the image was too blurry to tell much else. The person was clearly yelling at someone, though. Fyre listened hard, just barely catching a few words.
"I don't know you!"
Hm. That seemed promising.
"You do! You just can't remember it!"
Well, that was a creepy response. She wondered who the two were. Maybe she'd find out soon. A sudden pain in her arm took Fyre by surprise. She tried as hard as she could to pull herself out of her mind but she just couldn't. Image after image flooded through her head, causing her to scream.
"Why did you have to die, brother...?"
"That didn't happen!"
"I don't blame you for my death."
"You lied to me!"
"Cut me."
"I'm sorry..." Slap! "I'm sorry..."
"I hate you! Leave me alone!"
"You're so beautiful..."
"Just let me die!"
"You don't have to fight alone..."
"Kill me."
"Who's this 'Fyre' person you keep mentioning...?"
"Why don't you remember?!"
"I'm not her! And I don't love you!"
"Ahhh!"
At the scream in her mind, Fyre opened her eyes at the speed of light, trying to remember when she had started looking at the ground. She noticed that her arm didn't hurt anymore. So... The pain in her arm was going to happen...? Suddenly, Fyre felt eyes burning holes into her head. Felix was probably worried after that...
"Fyre?" he asked. "You alright?"
The girl looked up quickly, seeing Felix staring at her in worry. He had a smear of dirt on his face, she noticed. Just like...the Henry that had been staring at her in the vision she'd seen... The Henry that died... The Henry who's place was now taken by Felix. Oh, no...
"Fyre?"
Fyre couldn't answer because of a sudden burning in her chest. She gripped at it in pain, her mouth falling open in silent agony. Oh, God. Oh, Gods. Oh, Goddess, spirits, Flying Spaghetti Monster, and anything else, this was happening now.
"Now you know a portion of what I had to go through," someone said.
Fyre looked up to see a girl that looked exactly like her with white hair in two braids, icy-blue eyes, and a dress made of ice. Oh, Caoilainn... She had done this... Laisrén had left her to become Fyre, and now all of this had happened... She wanted to say something, anything, to let her sister know how sorry she was. The Book Seer tried to speak, but the pain was making it impossible. The girl in ice walked over to Fyre, grabbing her arm and roughly pulling her to her feet. Fyre gasped at the slight pain in her arm. Felix tried to pull out his sword, but it was frozen to its sheath.
"Careful..." Iyce said condescendingly. "Don't want me to kill her, do you...?"
"Sister... This isn't you..." Fyre whispered.
"Call me Iyce," she hissed at her. "I've already told you that."
Fyre whimpered, feeling the poison enter her veins from Iyce's thorn-covered fingertips. She tried to tell her to stop, but she couldn't speak.
"What's that?" Iyce asked rhetorically. "You're not in that much pain? Well, here then. Let me give you some more!"
With that, the girl shot a spear of ice straight at Felix. It was flying too fast for him to move and before he knew it... The spear had frozen right in front of him. When he looked up from the deadly weapon, he saw Fyre with her arm extended and her hand obviously controlling the ice.
"Next time you do something like this, sister, remember something. If your magic is touching someone this closely when you're using it - Like, say, controlling someone with it, or covering the entire inland in it - the person you touch with the magic can use it. All of it. Like those twins whose lives we both ruined."
"Tsh." Iyce threw Fyre to the ground, letting Felix catch her, and letting the spear of ice shatter on the ground. "One of them died, you know. Those twins."
Fyre froze. Pun intended. "...What?"
Iyce nodded. "Yep. One of them killed the other. It was tragic, really. The way the older one... Ugh, impaled with a sword. Terrible way to die."
Felix growled. "You... You tortured this girl after she spent so long looking for you to make amends for what she did... You drove a wedge between two boys who wanted nothing more than to be together, letting - Making - one of them kill the other... You made that pirate attack Vincent; an innocent boy... You're just lucky that he lived, or you'd be dead right now..."
'Stuff went down," Fyre thought weakly.
"Scary," Iyce teased. "I can see why she likes you."
Felix held Fyre tighter, before looking at the five pricks in her arm. "What did you do to her...?"
"Do you like it?" the girl asked, showing Felix the thorn on the pad of each finger. "I dipped the thorns in a sleeping potion, but this one's different than the one I used on Pan… It causes eternal sleep… In the most painful way it can…"
"You... You bitch!"
"I get called that a lot..."
"Help her!"
"And why would I do that...?"
"She's your sister, Caoilainn!"
Iyce frowned. "How do you...? Oh... Oh, I see. I always wondered... I thought you left."
"I did leave."
Suddenly, another scene took over Fyre's vision. It looked kind of like the past this time... Well, seers saw the future and the past, so she didn't question it. The scene was slightly blurry, but it looked a bit like Bay and...the shadow. Oh, and Delta was over to the side with a tree on him. Hm. Oh... Did he just say...? Honestly, she probably should've gotten that sooner...
"Okay. Let's go," Bay said, extending his hand for the shadow to take.
The shadow grabbed his outstretched hand, starting to pull him into the air before he was stopped.
"Wait... If Pan doesn't like the name 'Bay'... What name do I use...?"
"Just use your real name."
"...It's been so long..."
"Well, you still remember it, right?"
Bay glared. "Of course."
"Alright, then. Are you ready?"
He looked back at the motionless body of Delta, before he nodded. "Yes."
"Good. Let's go home... Felix."
Neusuada: Yeah, I did that.
Ashe: Sorry. We didn't plan for Bay to be Felix when we first introduced him, but cool twist, right? How many of you guessed it? Oh, and it does work. If he was eleven, and he stayed for eight years, then he'd be nineteen when he went back, thus he's how old we assume Felix is. We know that he's older in real life, but whatever. Oh. Also, everything that Fyre saw will come to pass in the sequel. Please, please review with guesses on which people you think said all the different things Fyre heard! Please! We want to know what everyone thinks!
Neusuada: No flames. I repeat, no flames!
Ashe: Please review!
Neusuada: Review nicely!
Ashe: Please!
