Shinichi really wasn't the type of person to hate people. Sure, there was the Black Organization and Murders, but even then it really wasn't a hatred he held for them.

The paparazzi, however, were a completely different story.

Ever since Shinichi had returned from being Conan 2 months ago, they were swarming him like flies. There was always at least 5 reporters following him, and 20 were constantly at the Kudo household gates.

Kaito didn't mind, in fact he rather enjoyed the attention, but Shinichi liked his privacy, and was close to his breaking point.

And it was on a clear and calm Tuesday morning that our dear detective finally snapped.

Kaito had been asking, no, demanding, that the two get a cat for 3 weeks straight. Shinichi had no idea why his boyfriend wanted a cat (he did have doves to take care of), and when asked, the magician simply replied with "because I want one."

Shinichi hand finally relented, and since Kaito's birthday was creeping up rather quickly (how did that happen?), Shinichi figured they could get one for a birthday present.

They had decided to leave through the front door this time (they usually planned elaborate breakouts to leave the house), and as soon as they stepped foot out of the house, they were swarmed by a herd of those stupid reporters.

Questions were asked all at once, and when they found out Shinichi was going to get a cat, that was when the detective snapped.

"For the love of god, do you people have any sense of privacy!?" He shouted, effectively shutting everyone up. "All I want to do is go out with Kaito and NOT have to deal with you people!"

On of the reporters opened their mouth, probably to ask about Kaito, but Shinichi cut him off. "All you people do is report on other people's lives! Seriously, that's it!"

Kaito snickered when Shinichi took a deep breath before continuing. "And apparently, it's more important that I'm going to get a fucking cat instead of that guy that just got stabbed to death over there!"

Shinichi pointed to the empty space besides him, eyes widening when he heard a shriek, followed by a gurgle of what sounded a lot like blood. A dozen head's whipped to the apparently empty spot to see a young man convulsing on the ground, blood spilling out of his mouth and neck, where a knife was imbedded.

It was silent, until Kaito spoke in his best announcer voice. "Player Kudo Shinichi, Shinigami has just reached level 36."

Shinichi glared at the magician. He was convinced that Shinichi was one of the famed Shinigami, and Shinichi really didn't think this was the time for that. "Kaito, not now."

"Death glare has just reached level 56."

"God damn it Kaito, shut up!"

"You just unlocked the Death Scythe."

Shinichi opened his mouth, closed it, and opened it again before throwing his hands up in frustration. He pulled out his phone, threatened the reporters to leave, otherwise there would be mass homicide, and then stalked over to the dead body, police on the phone.

Kaito grinned, and then went to follow Shinichi. He then stopped, as if remembering something important. "You guy's should probably leave." He said, turning his grin to the mass of reporters.

"Why?"

"Because Shin-chan will not hesitate to make good on his threat~!" He sang, making his way over to Shinichi again.

"Well how come you're not leaving!" One of the reporters countered.

"Because I have special privileges." Kaito sounded incredibility smug, and he looked incredibility smug too. "You know, being Shinichi's boyfriend and all."

Kaito hummed as he skipped off, leaving the reporters in complete confusion.
