Another revision!
Stretching out on deck I sighed as my muscles relaxed and joints popped, fully ignoring my crewmembers as I started doing pushups, not wanting to be caught off guard by other wolves or by hunters. As my arms started to burn with the workout I hear Usopp yelling.
"Hey! I see a flock of birds starboard."
With a light sigh I pushed myself to my feet as Luffy asked if Usopp was sure.
"Yeah, and they're surrounding something, I can't make it out exactly but it's big. I wonder what it is?"
Shaking my head I looked towards the birds as Luffy stretched out his arm and pulled the object on board, knocking Zoro into the water in the process. Walking over to the object we discovered it was a little girl, tilting my head I picked her up.
"Is she ok?"
I nodded.
"She's dehydrated, that's all. She can sleep in the kitchen, maybe the smell will wake her up."
Nami nodded as Luffy and Usopp pulled Zoro back onto the ship, walking into the kitchen we cleared off a spot before laying her down.
"What now?"
I sighed, looking at the girl in curiosity for a moment, her scent strange to me almost like something wasn't right.
"When she wakes up, if she freaks out the way I think she will, I'll shift. Kids are more comfortable around animals anyway."
"Are you sure?"
I nodded at Zoro while pulling a blanket around the girl, ever since my fight with Aarlong I haven't been able to control my inner wolf like usual. It was like she was angry at me, which is very dangerous for any werewolf, if we can't control our changes then the wolf takes over and we loose ourselves to our inner beast.
"Lunch is ready."
We nodded and took our places at the table, enjoying the delicious food Sanji made, until we heard a scream. Looking over we realized the girl was up and had knocked her head against Usopp's chin, shaking my head I shifted, feeling my wolf growling softly as I told it to be quiet before walking over to the child.
"You're awake!"
The little girl stopped screaming and looked at Nami then at me as I looked at her.
"That was quicker than I expected, don't worry you're alright now."
"Nothing that some grub won't cure, I'm cooking some soup if you're hungry."
I smiled as Sanji mentioned food before turning back to the girl as she cautiously patted my head, stepping onto the crates she was sleeping on I laid down and placed my head in her lap, watching as she calmed down a little as she continued to pet my head.
"I'm guessing you were shipwrecked? What's your name?"
The girl glared at Nami causing me to tilt my head.
"Before asking a stranger questions it's polite to give them your name first."
Nami giggled and winked at her.
"Good point. I'm Nami, the chef cooking that delicious smelling soup is Sanji, that's Zoro despite his scoul he's a good guy, you already met the one lying unconscious on floor that's Usopp, the one with her head in your lap is Chris."
"And I'm Luffy, and I'm the captain of this pirate ship."
I flinched as the little girl screamed above me.
"What?! Pirates?!"
"That's right, and we're on our way to the grand line."
Standing up I licked the girl's face to try and get her to calm down.
"So what are we supposed to do with her?"
I turned towards Zoro before going back to girl who was frozen in shock.
"I'm not sure, I'll have to think it over. I can deal with this tomorrow."
Shaking my head I licked the girl one more time before walking over to Zoro and placing my head on his thigh, he sighed, reached down, and started petting me.
When the girl finally passed out again I grabbed my clothes and shifted back, breathing a sigh of relief when it was over.
"You okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine."
Sanji smiled at me as he cleaned the dishes, watching me as I twitched in pain for a second.
"Think you're going to get control of your wolf again?"
I shrugged.
"I've never had this problem before, if I had another wolf to learn from it would be different."
He nodded, grabbing another plate to clean before spinning around and looking at me.
"I thought you could talk to her?"
I nodded, running a hand through my hair in aggravation.
"I can, she's not answering me, it's like she's mad or something, I don't know."
Standing up I walked up to the deck. Sitting next to Zoro, who was relaxing in the sun and looked up at me for a moment.
"You feeling alright?"
"Yeah, I'll get better."
He nodded and closed his eyes again; smiling I leaned back and relaxed next to him.
Hearing a scream I jerked awake and looked at Nami before we sighed and ran to the kitchen to see Luffy chowing down and the little girl eating. Shaking my head I turned around and laid down on one of the railings, relaxing for a few minutes as the boys got us ready to set sail. All of a sudden we heard a boom followed by black smoke coming from the kitchen, sitting up I raised an eyebrow as the little girl stumbled out, Sanji looked over the side of the crow's-nest to see what was wrong with his kitchen.
"Hey, what's the trouble down there?"
"No trouble! I've been cooking!"
"What!"
"Everyone! Breakfast is ready!"
I shook my head and stood up.
"This can't be good."
Walking into the kitchen, everyone took their spots as the little girl dished out the food, blinking at the grey mush on my plate I sniffed at it only to rear back slightly.
"You made this all by yourself?"
The girl nodded while I poked at it with one of my claws.
"The appearance is quiet unique, yeah."
The little girl seemed to be happy with herself.
"Not only did you guys rescue me, but you've given me food and shelter as well. I finally found a way to pitch in and help."
I heard Zoro mumble something and Nami stepped on his foot while I elbowed him in the side.
"Be nice, she's just trying to help."
Grabbing my plate I chowed down on the strange food, swallowing down the strange food I bolted from the table, throwing up over the side of the ship as my stomach burned with the spices. Feeling a hand on my back I looked up at Zoro, who smiled and handed me a mug filled with water. Nodding my thanks I swallowed the water in one gulp, gasping for air I handed the mug back.
"Thanks."
"No problem pup."
I sighed.
"What did I miss?"
Zoro smiled lightly.
"The girls name's Abis, and we're taking her to Warship Island."
I nodded, my exhaustion falling into a frown, causing Zoro to raise an eyebrow.
"What's wrong?"
I shook my head.
"What's her story? I mean, she smells weird to me."
Zoro looked even more confused, if it was even possible.
"What do you mean?"
Before I could answer Usopp yelled that there was a Marine fleet coming up from behind us. Turning we spotted the ship as Nami, Luffy, Sanji, and Abis came out of the kitchen. Hearing the girl panic I looked over at her.
"What's wrong with you?"
"Those ships belong to branch eight! They're the ones I escaped from! What am I going to do?"
Sighing I walked over to the girl as the boys decided what to do as the Marines opened fire, picking Abis up she looked up at the seagulls that were sitting on the railing.
"What is it sweetie?"
"There's a breeze coming up."
Nami looked at the girl before yelling at Luffy, Zoro, and Usopp three minutes before a breeze carried the ship speeding away from the fleet. Setting Abis on her feet I grinned as we took off before coming to a full stop that made me panic.
"This is bad."
"What is?"
I looked at Nami.
"We aren't moving."
She blinked at me for a moment before screaming.
"We've entered the calm belt!"
So what do we think?
