Here at tales of the Dark guard and Legends of the Dark guard we own pretty much nothing when it comes to these series except for dozens of OCs and world building concepts. Also finally this one is out! I've been having writers block with this one for quite some time! And now there is only one more chapter left, hopefully this one turns out well and I'll see you in the next book!

Chapter 26: Truth
At one point in his life Jack, had read the art of war by Sun Tzu. He has great respect for the man and the book taught him quite a lot. However he doubted he ever had to deal with a situation quite like this one. Or ever deal with a powerful insane dragon rider Psion, who decided to blow up an entire enemy wall like it was made of cardboard. Personally I doubt anyone really ever had to deal with a situation quite like this one. Unfortunately the explosion not only surprised and stunned the enemy but also stunned their own men. Which was a supposed miscalculation on Bladedancer's part, luckily the elven army wasn't nearly as surprised by the power of the Dovah Kin and Durnehviir, so they were still able to advance forward into battle without any delay. The Urgals and dwarves were thankfully the second group to recover and quickly charged into battle.
This ended up shaking the rest of the Varden out of their stupor, making them charge in with a fierce battle cry. The initial explosion screwed with the enemy's position by killing men, both on the wall and behind it. This allowed the Varden to enter the city undeterred, making it so the army could get in all at once. The battle certainly got chaotic when the enemy recovered from the dual sneak attacks, and started to retaliate.
Just like he said, Bladedancer wasn't holding back anymore. He cut through demons and human soldiers alike. Though even he would admit the power boost he got from Ne'zelog made it even easier for him. His priority right now was to seek out Galbatorix's general. A man called lord Barst and eliminate him before he deal heavy damage. After that he would join a strike team that consisted of Jack, Nightwing, Eragon, Saphira, Arya, Sindrox, and Kuros their job… Kill Galbatorix. Simple no? Well it would be simple if Bladedancer didn't have to kill all of the weaklings first! There was literally an army between him and the general. He's polyclones helped but even he managed to get a few times by the hulking demons in his way. Scowling he took out his rifle while putting away his swords and started firing at anyone in front of him. The rifle was the LF-hunting machine.
Definantly a beast of a weapon, capable of taking down airships with a single shot, well aimed or otherwise. This was something he took advantage of, even creating more polyclones with the idea of mowing down the enemies in front of them. After that it didn't take long for him to find the general who was taking out the Varden like they were ants beneath his boots. Barst held a steel mace that was being used to easily bat aside anyone in his path. More than likely the man had an Eldunari on him along with multiple wards and shields. He even had finely crafted red armor, but Bladedancer had to smirk when he saw that he also wore a cape. And capes were a hazard to one's health. Laughing Bladedancer took out his swords again and charged the man with blinding speed.
Barst was indeed enhanced because he was able to block the first overhead strike form Bladedancer. There was a pause in the fighting around them as everyone noticed their weapons clash. It was the soul stealer vs the best man the empire had to offer. No one wanted to miss this, so in an inaudible truce they watched as the two fought. Bladedancer used his shorter sword to try and stab the heavily armored man, but Barst unlocked his mace from his longer sword and managed to bat aside the smaller blade. Twirling around Barst tried to cave the side of Bladedancer's head in. Only for it to be quickly stopped by his opponents short sword that was supported by his longer one. Both opponents never talked once during this exchange of blows, still the fury of attacks grew more intense. So much so that vibrations of the clashed could be felt by those around them.
Personally Bladedancer was surprised that Barst's weapon hadn't shattered or broke from the powerful exchanges. This made him believe it was made from the same material as the demon weapons. Still at least it made this battle more interesting, although I frustrated him that he just couldn't land a hit. And when he did his weapon bounced off of the wards surrounding him. That battle turned to one of attrition, whose ever energy ran out first lost. Bladedancer was protecting himself with his own type of shielding and wards, while Barst was protected by the ones created by Galbatorix. Sure Bladedancer could have Triangular gate him into oblivion, but that takes lots of energy and it wouldn't be very fair. This fight was entertaining, even his inner self was agreeing and they were fighting together as one because of it.
Still that didn't stop him from using an electrically enhanced telekinetic push against him. But to both of their surprise the wards around the man protected him from both the blast and electricity. Scowling they realized that Galbatorix must have taken measures against his psionic abilities. That meant the only thing they could do was to keep hacking away at him. Jumping away Bladedancer looked at his daedric weapons.
"Tsk…" He was upset because his weapons had chips and cracks in them. They were his second favorite weapons to, with his Uchigatana's being his first and sword and shield being his third. But they were both damaged by the fight with Ne'zelog. And he didn't want to waste energy by conjuring up any psi weapons. Sighing he decided to put away his now damaged weapons and pulled out something he thought he wouldn't use against humans. Not that it was powerful or couldn't be used against them it was just… twice as tall as he was and made to smash dragons. Yep the weapon he took out was none other than the Dragon bone smasher. A beast of a weapon that was extremely heavy and quite durable. Still Bladedancer could lift it with one arm, but he found it easier with two. His plan was simple… If he couldn't beat him with skill and speed, he would smash him with pure brute force.
It was one that his dark half agreed whole heartedly with. However everyone else simply looked at the weapon with shocked expressions, everyone except Barst who was looking at it with just a hint of worry. I mean wouldn't you be worried if someone came at you with such a huge weapon and was currently holding it with one hand? Thinking further Bladedancer also got out his shield to deflect any attacks from the general.
Bladedancer started laughing manically scaring everyone even further. "Well Barst you've done well so far. But now I think it's time to smash you into a puddle of bloody MUSH!" With that Bladedancer charged the poor general who had no idea how to fight against the insane Psion.
LINE BREAK!
Eragon grimaced when he heard Bladedancer's laugh echo through the streets. Sighing he side stepped another would be killer and slashed him across his back. Currently he was on foot with Saphira flying around in the sky dropping down on enemies with fire. Truly the training underneath the others did wonders for the both of them. And that's not even mentioning the fact that Saphira could now talk! Make's him question whether or not he should even worry about Galbatorix and just bow down before them. It'd certainly be easier, and less bloody for that matter. But they had no desire to conquer or rule anything. They just want to help people that need help, and so here he was cutting a path through the regular humans and demons alike. He still didn't understand why they were here in the first place but it didn't matter. They were a threat and he needed to kill them.
Suddenly his instincts alerted him to something behind him and he quickly turned to block a curved bladed sword. Looking at its owner he scowled as he saw the last Ra'zac. They didn't say a word to each other, because they both knew what was going to happen this day. Today one of them would finally be dead and the victor would go on to their main objective. Jumping back from each other they observed one another before charging forward with a yell. The Ra'zac struck first aiming to bisect Eragon; however that was blocked easily with Brisinger. They pulled their weapons back and slashed forward only for their weapons to meet in a shower of sparks. They pulled back once again and both tried aiming low only for their weapons to meet once more. This quickly became the pattern as the resurrected Ra'zac and the trained rider continued to strike one another.
They said nothing and though of nothing else besides their opponents, blows increased in speed as their fight became more of a dance than a clash of blades. Though not as intense as Bladedancer's fight with the general, it was still a sight to witness. As proved by the crowd they gathered of Varden and empire soldiers alike stopped to watch. They knew whoever won this match would go on and would make all enemy combatants who stopped to watch surrender. For who could hope to match such power and skill? Eragon threw no spells out even ones he learned from Bladedancer because he knew the Ra'zac's wards would block all of them, and he would just tire himself out by doing so. He also could not enter the Ra'zac's mind because of how its mind worked so Eragon was stuck with plan old swordsmanship. Still even he had to smile at this battle.
This battle was one where he could test his skills and abilities to their limits against a similarly strong opponent. He wasn't one for killing but… Even he has found some love for fighting. The want to get stronger so he could test his strength against other foes, so that way he could get stronger and fight even greater ones! This was an instinct most fighter's end developing and it is a hard one to resist. In another dimension the greatest example of this is Zaraki Kempachi. His whole meaning for living is fighting. But even he knows to relax every once and while. Still his instinct for fighting is so great that he laughs whenever someone is able to wound him. Shrugging off most blows that would kill anyone else and fighting only the strongest of foes. But we're getting ahead of selves here. Eragon has yet to develop so far that he loves carnage and battle.
Still over all he was enjoying this fight, and when he scored the first actual blow against his opponent he felt his elation increase. Saphira was able to feel it through their bond and used that feeling to increase her own fighting ferocity. However the Ra'zac still didn't say a word but backed off and gave the wound an almost accepting look. As though it didn't really care anymore about dying. No that's not accurate it cared but it would accept the loss with no complaint since he was the last of his kind. Truly it didn't matter if he won or not, because in the end his entire race was finished. So looking back at Eragon it decided that he would fight and enjoy every second of it. Because it was his very last fight no matter what happened this day. Despite what people would say about them the Ra'zac weren't evil creatures. No they only did what they did to survive. But even though they didn't blame the other races and groups for thinking they were monsters. After all they still ate the flesh of humans and other sentient races in order to survive.
This Ra'zac accepted everything when he ran away from his last fight with the dragon rider. So taking another stance he prepared for their final bout. So they once again ran at one another and began to exchange blows. You know it is said when fighters reach a certain level of power and skill they are able to communicate their feelings through their attacks. Eragon was now at such a level where he could read the Ra'zac's emotions given through his blade, and the Ra'zac was able to read his. They ended up understanding one another's motivations about this fight and both accepted them. For as the battle continued the Ra'zac took more damage and Eragon began to expand on his advantage. At this point there was no point in holding a grudge on the other so they just fought simply to finish what was started between them so long ago.
Back when Eragon was just a farm boy still learning about dragons, and when the Ra'zac was still just a dragon hunter for the king. Now they were both so much more and yet… It didn't matter to any of them during the fight. It was time to finally end this. Blocking another attack from the Ra'zac Eragon used his shoulder to hit it in the chest making it stumble back. Taking advantage he cut upwards in a diagonal slash from its left side. It was able to dodge most of the blow but it still wounded it. They both twirled around and their blades met once more creating sparks. This time Eragon managed to push it's blade out of the way throwing it completely off balanced.
Yelling out "BRISINGER!" Eragon's blade lit on fire as he slashed the Ra'zac one last time. Now breathing heavily time seemed to slow down as they both seemed to stand there. Time turned to normal once again as an audible tired sigh came from the Ra'zac and it fell onto its back dying before he hit the ground. As Eragon looked down on the Ra'zac he felt empty in a way. Here was the thing that made him start out on his quest so long ago. Now it was dead and he felt as though he lost a piece of himself. Still he could only give a small laugh as he hoped it stayed dead this time. Quickly draining the gems of both his belt and sword he recovered as much energy as he could before making his way over to the rendezvous point. However even he noticed the empire soldiers around him giving up and kneeling down on the ground with weapons discarded.
He quickly ordered the Varden to take them away before moving on hoping he could still make it in time.
LINE BREAK TWO!
Jack was having a rather interesting time as he mowed down soldiers in front of him using both Chaos and Elemental. Currently it was his job to open the gates to the keep of the capitol allowing others to assault it. After that he would then meet up with the strike team meant to kill the mad king. In all honesty he was rather confused on why it was so easy. Sure there were plenty of demons but… he was easily cutting through them up to the ramparts that held the wench to the gate. He just needed to open them and hold them until the strike team arrived. After cutting a bloody swath through the enemy he finally reached the gate house and busted in. There were two dozen guards in there which he made short work of. He sheathed his weapons and went up to open the gate.
With minimal effort he lowered the gates and broke the chain so no one could bring it back up again. With that completely he exited the gate house and jumped off the ramparts. He ended up landing on an enemy soldier and breaking his back. Grimacing a bit he went and started clearing the area surrounding the now downed gates. It wasn't soon after until Sindrox ended showing himself launching lightning, ice, and earth spike at everyone. Both demon and human enemy alike died in his path. Seeing his admiral and friend Jack called out to him.
"Oh hey there! You're the first one to make it here. You didn't have to much trouble did you?" Sindrox jumped and spun around launching earth spikes at everyone before landing next to him. Giving a dragon's version of a smile he answered him.
"No I guess you could say this was a bit too easy for one such as me." He looked around a bit seeing the street almost void of live enemies. "When do you think the other's will get here?" Jack was about to answer when Arya ran out of a nearby street. Seeing them she waved a bit and ran over.
Getting closer she commented on the downed gate. "It seems as though you were successful yet again." Jack laughed a bit.
"Yeah well in truth it wasn't really that hard." His face became serious again before he continued talking. "You still have the Dauthdaert right?" She nodded and took the weapon off her back and showed them. Part of the plan was to use the weapons anti-magic abilities to get the jump on Galbatorix. They were about to continue talking when Nightwing, Saphira, and Kuros landed around them. Greeting each other Eragon ran out of a street killing another soldier as he came to them.
They all gave a greeting to him before Kuros spoke up. "Well that only leaves…" He was interrupted by a huge wave of energy popping up where he felt Bladedancer's presence coming from. Sighing he continued his sentence. "Now we just have to wait for Bladedancer. Wonder what he's up to over there?" Everyone else was wondering the same thing but they still waited killing any soldier that decided to attack them. After a few minutes Bladedancer finally made an appearance.
"Hi guys missed me?" There was silence as they turned around to go to the castle. "Man that's cold, ice cold. Remind me to not help you guys again then!" Still ignoring him the others went up to the large entrance. Bladedancer rubbed his hands together before giving a great telekinetic push against it. The entrance promptly flew off along with a few pieces of stone. This was lucky for them but unlucky for any palace guards in the way. They were squashed and died in excruciating pain. Laughing he turned towards his "Team" with his stretched out to the sides.
"Whelp here we are! Who wants to go first?"
LINE BREAK Three!
Eventually they all entered and made their way to a dragon sized hallway. The hallway was pretty long and being was filled up with traps! They found this out when a fire spell almost hit Jack in the face when he first stepped inside of the passage. They decided to remedy this with a simple solution. By forcing Bladedancer to enter first! However he was able to talk them out of sacrificing him by offering the lives of dozens and dozens of polyclones. That still didn't stop Bladedancer from crying tears as he sent hundreds of himself to their deaths. Everyone else though felt it was a fair trade off for every crazy and insane thing he's done so far.
"I'll get all of you back for this one day! One day!" They still ignored him after he gave out those threats because they really didn't care at this point. Still after all the traps were finally all set off and/or disarmed they made their way through. When they came to a door at the end of the hall they all took a deep breath to calm themselves. They succeeded until Bladedancer attached an explosive to it and told everyone to run.
"How much explosives does it take to open a door like this? Two times all of it!" With a flip of a switch he activated all of it. This caused the door to become nothing more than ash stain on the ground. When asked where he got that idea from he just smiled while talking about someone in a red suit. They all entered the grand chamber that was the throne room to come across a shocking scene. Inside was two dead corpses, one was of a humongous dragon which could only be Shruikan. And the other was Galbatorix himself; they both had holes where their hearts should have been. Eragon slowly walked forwards in disbelief.
"H-how? W-who could have done this? More importantly how did they do this?!" While everyone was freaking out and searching for any clues on who did this. Kuros and Bladedancer just sat back and started to search the place for anything valuable. It was so nice to know they had their priorities straight. And no that wasn't sarcasm, I truly do mean they have their priorities straight. Bladedancer ended up pocketing all fancy jewelry and Galbatorix's sword while also taking some Eldunari. He would return those later but it proved that whoever did this didn't want them. This caused him to pause because it meant one of two things. One they just wanted the king dead highly unlikely. Two they were waiting for them. Quickly turning around he shouted to everyone when a large demon entered the room and placed a barrier on the only exit to the building. Bladedancer knew that the barrier probably extended to the ceilings as well. The demon laughed at them while showing off his sharp fanged teeth. When it finally spoke it was deep and ominous.
"Well it took all of you long enough! I was beginning to worry the death of the fool and his "mighty" dragon would be found out before you arrived. It seems as though my luck hasn't ran out just yet. Now I know all of you must be wondering who or what I am." Everyone turned to Bladedancer when he answered him.
"No not really." This caused everyone but Kuros to groan once again at his antics. However the demon just stood there flabbergasted. No one had ever said such a thing with such a straight face or with such a bored voice. Shaking his great head he finally recovered from his confusion.
"Well… I must admit that's a new one but could you at least let me introduce myself?" Nodding his head and giving him the go ahead sign the demon continued. "I am the great pit lord commander Fel'thuran! And I'm the one commanding all of the demons out there. I was also the one to kill the foolish king when he out lived his uses. It was interesting to see how easy it was." Fel'thuran gave a large toothy grin. "But it also wasn't too unexpected either. Humans no matter if they obtain great magic is still human in the end. Even immortal humans have a limit which they can't surpass. But their souls are still easy to use for a good power up." Jack's eyes widened when he heard this, he finally found out why it was so easy for him to make it here. This pit lord wanted his soul, and he fell right for its trap. He cursed himself for not sensing things earlier. However he felt a pat on his right shoulder and turned to see Bladedancer.
"Well it's been not nice knowing you. But if this guy wants and immortal you're the only one here that truly qualifies. So have fun with him." Jack felt his eye twitching while everyone else just sighed again. It seemed even in a situation like this Bladedancer really didn't care if he died. Even Fel'thuran's fell into what could be an "are you serious" look. He even clicked his tongue before talking again.
"Is he always like this?" Everyone despite the circumstances turned to him and nodded. "Well to be honest I'm here for his soul as well so… Yeah he can't just sacrifice Jack of Doom here." Bladedancer stopped patting Jack's shoulder and turned towards the demon.
"Aww… I wanted to see Jack get beaten to a pulp and then have me save his sorry but." There was an audible slap as Jack hit his face with a groan. He then slouched over and started to give and even sounded hysterical as he talked.
"Can we please just fight? Please!?" Taking pity on him despite being enemies Fel'thuran took out his huge double bladed staff and got into a battle position. Shrugging his shoulders Bladedancer got out his shield and got out Night stealer, because hey if it worked before why not again? Eragon and Arya both took out their weapons respectively along with a now recovered Jack. The dragons all got into fighting stances again, Fel'thuran took a look at both Nightwing and Sindrox and started laughing. This made everyone drop their guard slightly.
Fel'thuran's voice boomed around the throne room. "Well, well, well… I truly never thought I'd meet you two again. And here we thought you two were dead! But here you are now fighting against us." He first turned to Nightwing and then to Sindrox. "So tell me Deathwing, Spyro… how have you two been?" The two dragons just looked at him in confusion at what he was talking about.
Fel'thuran seemed to notice which he then laughed at. "You two don't know?! Now that is amusing truly amusing! HAHAHA!" Growling Nightwing snapped at him.
"What in the world are you talking about demon! I might not know about Sindrox since he's missing his memories but I know that I'm not this Deathwing!" This just made the demon laugh even more.
"Oh really than let me wash away the illusion over both of you then." Waving his right hand to the side there was a distortion over both dragons. When they could finally be seen again by everyone they noticed that while they didn't change that much they did change. For one Sindrox became purple in color. Nightwing was the most changed though, his scales became a darker and now riddled with scars and over the top half of his face was a metal mask. His joints were also covered in metal as if they were made of metal. His eyes also became blood red overall he looked a lot more menacing. Casting another spell a wave of energy appeared in front of them and acted as a mirror. This showed them their new looks. Although Sindrox wasn't too surprised because he still had memory loss and had no idea as to whom his real parents were. Nightwing was in complete shock and checked himself out.
Despite his shock there was a part of him that both appreciated the look and another part that knew it was familiar to him. Still that didn't stop him from asking the obvious questions of the group.
"How? And more importantly why?" Even Bladedancer wasn't speaking because he himself was quite surprised.
The demon answered them with a condescending voice. "It seems to me that after your defeat you were found and raised as someone else while your memories were sealed. You are not this Nightwing but the great black dragon known as Deathwing! One of the great terrors of the skies! As for you young dragon you're not even a dragon!" That caused everyone to turn to now purple dragon.
"What do you mean? Of course I'm a dragon!" Fel'thuran laughed once more before going into detail.
"Yes you are but also not. You see you're actually a Dragonite! The same as Darkwing! In fact you could say that you're his younger brother of a sort." He gave one more laugh before continuing. "At one point you two both worked with my lord, now why don't you rejoin us?" At this everyone finally came to their senses and got into fighting stances. "Is that a no then?" His answer was to have Sindrox now Spyro launch an ice spike at his face. However despite his size Fel'thuran was easily able to deflect it with his staff's top blade.
"Very well than! Prepare to die as the worms you are!" He gave a thunderous roar before launching himself at them using his massive wings. Everyone scattered and began to fight. Eragon attacked only to be blocked easily by the bottom part of the staff.
Fel'thuran snorted before commenting. "My fight isn't with you." With ease he wacked him aside to the end of the room. Eragon recovered and ran back only to hit an invisible barrier. It wasn't long until Arya was outside along with him. Shortly after Saphira joined them. Laughing Fel'thuran focused his attention on those inside the barrier. "You are my fight!"
However Bladedancer was still his sarcastic self. "Oh boy… Lucky us…" The three dragons and the two humans or at least almost humans began fighting in earnest. Kuros let out a void beam at the demon who jumped to the side only to have to block a sword thrust from Jack. Jumping back again he dodged an earth spike from Spyro. Next he took to the sky as Deathwing launched an orb of darkness at him. However he was met with Bladedancer whom had jumped up to meet him and quickly gave a downwards slash which Fel'thuran blocked with the middle of his staff. The force still sent him back to the ground and he created a small creator from the impact. Bladedancer landed next to Jack and then went to inspecting his sword. It was badly cracked growling he put the sword away. However this time instead of getting out another weapon he took out a metal handle with a crossguard attached to it.
He closed his eyes and focused his psionic energies on it before a clear blade popped out of a hole on the top of it. The blade looked like glass but hummed slightly. Bladedancer had decided to go with a psionic blade instead of any other weapon. Because frankly he was tired of his weapons cracking all over the place. Putting his shield away as well he griped the psi blade with two hands. Fel'thuran looked at him with interest before a smile crept onto his face. He didn't say anything but it sure looked like he was planning something. With a burst of speed Bladedancer charged forward with his weapon drawn back. Attacking he attempted to bisect the great demon however Fel'thuran was still able to block the psionic weapon with his staff.
The demon was highly fast and nimble for his size. Still his greatest defense was his staff; with it he could block attacks from any and all sides. Still the five on one battle was slowly wearing him down and he gained small scratches and nicks here and there. However our hero's didn't fare much better, because they too were sporting small injuries. The fight continued however with neither side truly gaining the advantage. Frustrated on their lack of headway in this fight Bladedancer jumped back.
"Listen I need all of you to distract him for a few minutes. After that I need you to hold him in place anyway you can, just make it so he can't dodge!" Everyone nodded their heads and attacked the demon once again. However this time Bladedancer took a relaxed stance and began to channel energy into his psionic blade. Jack quickly focused his energy into both Chaos and Elemental before launching dual sonic busters at Fel'thuran. Jumping back from the attack he was met with three different breath attacks curtesy of the three dragons. Roaring in pain he was sent back to the ground where he began to stand up once more.
However Bladedancer was done gathering energy and yelled out to everyone. "Now! Hit him with everything you got!" Everyone complied, Jack sent out a sonic buster followed by Nightwings dark energy attack. At the same time Kuros let out a void beam, while Sindrox launched a flurry of different elemental projectiles at the large demon. While that happened Bladedancer let out with his Rencounta Earthio. All attacks hit the demon and he disappeared into the smoke caused by attacks yelling out in pain all the way. The yelling stopped after a few seconds; everyone regrouped and waited to see what would happen next. They knew Fel'thuran wasn't dead since the barrier was still up but still they weren't hearing any movements.
Their eyes narrowed as they heard the great monsters laugh. "Hahaha! I knew you five would be tough to defeat by myself. But I truly had no idea of your combined powers!" With a flap of his wings the smoke dispersed to reveal a heavily wounded Fel'thuran. "So I think I'll finally even the odds a little now that you're all weakened." Jack's eyes narrowed before retorting.
"We're weakened? HA! I think you need to take a closer look at yourself demon! It seems pretty obvious that you're on your last legs." Fel'thuran just continued to laugh annoying him even further. When he finally stopped he stabbed his spear into the ground confusing them as to what his next plan was. Moving his arms in strange and intricate patterns a ball of black energy started forming in front of him. Bladedancer gave a yell and charged him, for he wasn't one to just sit around and let an enemy complete an attack like that. Still the demon only kept smiling and launched the ball at him. Twirling to the side it easily missed him and he kept going.
However he looked behind him in aggravation when he heard Kuros. "Bladedancer behind you!" Instantly turning around he ducked to avoid the ball once more, only for it to immediately change direction back at him again. The others tried to stop it but it was already too late and the ball hit him. The ball engulfed him and everyone could hear his screams of pain. They had no idea as to what was happening only that Bladedancer was in extreme pain.
LINE BREAK Four!
Yukari could feel something happening to Bladedancer and already knew what it was. Her usual optimistic expression was gone as her worry and anger grew. As an apprentice to her she made sure to keep tabs on the traveling Psion. So she knew when he was in extreme danger, however this time she was practically ordered not to intervene. She glared at the one sitting across from her; the one who gave her that order. An old man with shoulder length white hair, a neat and trimmed large white beard, and silver eyes. His attire consisted of open white robes with a blue silver sash and silver blue pants tucked into white long leather boots. He was holding onto a brown wizard staff that had a club like head. The staff was taller than him by four inches despite him being six feet seven. Despite his robes you could see that he was strong and muscular even though he looked like an old man.
Taking another sip from her tea she spoke to him with venom I her voice. "You know Maxos you're just too manipulative for your own good. Even I know there are some boundaries that shouldn't be crossed." Maxos the legendary and powerful Broodknight sighed at the gap yokai's expression towards him. But he let her continue anyway knowing it was better for her to get everything off her chest. Lest it boil over and ruin some of his plans.
"First you manipulate Deathwing's memories and force your old friend Darkfury who you haven't even told your real name to by the, to adopt him and take your sword. Knowing full well that he'd have to get rid of it just so you could fake your death and retrieve it without anyone knowing." She closed her eyes before opening them and letting off a massive amount of her power. "And then you manipulated Jack to do everything that he did. But the worst of it is manipulating Bladedancer till this point." She rose from her kneeling position from the table in front of her. A purple aura was surrounding her now. "That boy has suffered too much already! He has already done much for Gensokyo and earned his place as my apprentice. But this… this has gone too far! If I had known what you were planning I would have stopped it before this could happen!"
Maxos stayed calm despite the aura tha gap yokai was giving off. Taking another sip of tea and thus irritating Yukari further he finally spoke. "What of it?" So taken back from the question Yukari's power faded and she stared at him in shock before he continued. "This won't kill him and this will only mold him into what he needs to be later. We both know about his darker half, and this way he'll be able to deal with it."
Yukari growled at him and let off some more power. So far she's been glad that she had sent everyone away before Maxos showed up. Because currently she didn't know if she could refrain from attacking him, even if he was one of the most powerful beings in the universe. Because despite of everything, despite all the pranks and blackmail and arm twisting… Ok so maybe she hadn't treated Bladedancer all too nicely as well but… He had still earned a place in her heart, which in truth was rather hard to do. She had practically taken it upon herself to be his crazy aunt like figure. Even if that description was given to her by Kuros and Saito.
"He was exactly what we needed beforehand. Sure may not have been as strong as you would've liked but I know that he can gain that strength without your help!"
Maxos scoffed at her. "That may be but how long would it actually take to happen?" He shook his head in disappointment. "Now we do not have that kind of time, besides I'm not nearly as bad as the enemy. They have no morality what so ever. At least I still have a skewed version of morality."
Yukari snapped at him. "Would that same skewed morality translate to what you did to your daughter?! She doesn't even know who she is in fact her current guardians believe she is their direct daughter! Only her mother is related by blood! But you manipulated their memories into thinking something else!" Yukari was breathing heavily from her rant however Maxos was just sitting still. However suddenly he stood up and an overwhelming amount of power washed over her causing her to collapse to her knees. Her breathing became ragged as it got harder to breathe.
"First don't ever mention my daughter to me again. Second don't talk to me in that tone of voice. Third do not question me or try to fight me we both know how well that will go." After another few seconds his power let up and Yukari was able to breathe regularly again. But he wasn't done talking. "Remember Yukari I can kill everyone in Gensokyo including you with my power. After the entirety of the infinium element is superior to everything else in this reality. Remember that for our next visit for now however." Maxos turned around and opened up a grey color dimensional portal. "This is where we say our good byes try to keep Bladedancer from killing himself for the time being. His death isn't supposed to happen yet after all." With that said he left through his portal and it closed behind him. This left a very angry and upset Yukari behind; if she could she would flip his power boundary and kill him. However with his powers it was impossible for her to do.
All she could do was cry and prey to whoever would listen that the boy she cared about so much would be fine and that he'd come back home. It was in this position that her shikigami or Ran found her in after she brought everyone back to her home in the gap. Recovering she told everyone what Maxos said was going to happen to Bladedancer. This caused everyone to worry and sit down in silence inside the house while Yukari left the house to stand on the outside porch.
Looking at the sky she muttered a few words. "Neos Draconis please keep yourself safe…"
LINE BREAK Five!
Everyone could only just stare and watch as the orb that encompassed their insane ally, they say ally because only Kuros was his friend. His screaming had stopped a little bit ago, and they could only wait to see the results. Suddenly the orb gained white cracks along its side. Their eyes widened as it exploded covering the entire are in black clouds. When they finally dispersed he could see Bladedancer once again. However he had to rub his eyes to make sure he wasn't seeing things. Currently there were two Bladedancer's! One in his Psion armor and the other in his contractor armor, he could feel pure rage coming off the one wearing his psi armor though. While the other just seemed off and felt strange. But what was even stranger was the fact that he felt afraid of it. He understood why when it gave off an insane and loud laugh.
"Mwahahahaha! Free! I'm finally FREE!" It continued to laugh as he reveled in his so called freedom. The one wearing the psi armor just tensed up and got into a fighting stance before speaking.
"I must admit I too feel quite giddy from being free from you. But I also know what that means for everyone else. But remember our power was cut in half when we split." That caused the other one to stop laughing and to stare directly at the other. Jack and everyone else from the W.R.C including those from this world were at a complete loss as to what just happened. Kuros however understood what the two were talking about.
He was also the first one to question how it happened. He even for went his alias when talking to him. "Neos please don't tell me that is you're…" A nod was his only answer. "But how?! Such a spell shouldn't be possible without killing the other!" Fel'thuran just snorted before answering him.
"Maybe for your pathetic powers but with Nether magic it is indeed quite possible. Now Bladedancer's insane dark half is split off of his light and sane half." Everyone now understood, somehow Bladedancer was split into two separate people. One was dark and insane, the other light and sane. This meant two things for them… One they no longer had to worry about Bladedancer's insane ideas and habits. Two they were royally screwed because they had to deal with a Bladedancer that was worse and completely evil.
However Evil Bladedancer snorted at the pit lord before turning around. "Well thanks for letting me out but I'll be going now." Everyone turned to look at him even Fel'thuran although he looked more angry than shocked.
It was made even more obvious by his tone of voice. "You can't just leave! I split you! Summoned you! So that you could help me fight them!" He would've continued ranting but he suddenly stopped when the evil Bladedancer disappeared from everyone's sight and appeared a few meters behind the demon. In his hand was a pitch black katana with a plain handle and guard. On it was purple blood dripping down from it.
He summoned a sheath for it and put it away before talking. "You know you talk too much and it leaves you right open." The demons head rolled of its massive shoulder's and fell to the ground, then its arms. It was bleeding purple blood exactly what was on the black katana. He rolled his shoulders before yawning. "Well it seems like that's all the fun for now. As for you my sane half bid you adieu until you can find me again. However I am hoping that you will give me a great fight for your soul. Remember that because as of now our souls are split in half, it will be interesting to see who kills who first." After saying that he created a pure pitch black portal and entered it disappearing from Alagaesia and this dimension in general.
The second to last chapter is done! I can't believe I started this story three years ago and now I've finally have finished the first book! Remember for more adventures look at the sequel or any of my other works. Besides that I hope you've enjoyed this interdimensional mash up! Now back to discussing the chapter. Personally I hope the end didn't feel too anti-climactic. And I hope I surprised you with all the reveals in this chapter. Although I have been giving out clues since the beginning of the story so if you already foresaw everything good for you! You get a magical internet cookie. Still I hope everyone enjoyed this chapter and the battles weren't too quick or slow. I must say though the battle with the Ra'zac is probably going to be my favorite battle scene that I've written so far. Anyway I hope you liked it! And once again this is Slayer Infinium signing off!
