"~Parseltongue~"

I buried my face into the warm pillow beside me and uttered a happy sigh. I felt groggy but well rested despite what happened the night before. There was no reason for me to have worried because Lily, Remus, James, and Sirius took the fact that I'm from another dimension rather well. They'll probably have some questions, but I can worry about those for when I get up.

Something tightened around my waist, and I snapped open my eyes to reveal I had become wrapped up in someone's arms sometime during the night.

My eyes traveled up from the arms securely hugging my waist, passed a very shirtless chest, to see Sirius' peacefully sleeping face. A hot blush spread from beneath my shirt to the roots of my hair. I untangled our legs and tried to gently crawl from his arms, but all I managed to do was get him to tighten his grip.

Our legs were no longer tangled together, but my head was now tucked underneath his chin and my forehead was pressed against his bare shoulder. I just had to be thankful that he kept his pants on.

"Sirius." I hissed.

His brows furrowed together and he mumbled sleepily before holding me closer.

"Wake up!" I poked him in the side, causing him to snort and turn over. One of his arms was still underneath me, but now I was no longer being held in his constricting grip, and I quickly flew out from beneath the covers and landed on the floor with a thump.

I internally groaned and pushed myself up from the floor. My blush quickly melted away now that I was no longer wrapped in the arms of a half-naked Sirius.

Standing up from the floor I grabbed my robe and strapped on both of my wands. I felt kind of gross wearing the same clothes from yesterday. I didn't feel like leaving the Room, and I could get Hatty to do it but it might wake up James and Sirius.

"How long have you two been up?"

Lily and Remus were sitting at the round table talking in low tones. When they heard my approach they both smirked.

"Did you have a nice night?"

I sneered at Lily, but there wasn't any feeling behind it, "Shut up Tigger." No longer caring if James or Sirius woke up I called for Hatty.

"What can I bes doing for Mistress Morrickson?"

"Do you guys want your trunks for some clean clothes?" When they both nodded I asked Hatty to bring mine and Lily's trunk along with James, Sirius, and Remus'. She nodded and popped away.

"I know I've told you that I'm not a big fan of using Houselves," both Remus and I looked over at Lily, "but she can be really useful."

I sent her a smirk just as Hatty popped back into the Room with five trunks all stacked on top of each other. "Will Mistress be needing anything else?"

"Some breakfast for the five of us would be lovely." She popped away again and the three of us walked over to find which trunk was ours.

I shook my head when I found mine, "Naturally mine is on the bottom."

Lily and Remus chuckled as they started unstacking the trunks and laying them out in a line.

I usually speak my password too quietly for anyone else to hear considering it was in parseltongue, but now that everyone in the room knew I could speak it I figured it didn't matter.

"~Morrickson~"

The sound of someone sucking in a sharp breath made me look over to see Remus staring at me with both fear and fascination. Lily has heard me speak parseltongue many times so it no longer bothered her.

Descending down into my trunk I blindly grabbed a shirt and a pair of pants. When I put them both on I found out I had grabbed my old skinny jeans and a white tank top. The skinny jeans were about a size too small so I placed a small engorgement charm so they would fit me nice and snug.

When I came back out of my trunk I saw my bag sitting on the round table. "How did that get here?"

"I asked Hatty to grab them since I rushed us out of the room last night."

I gave Lily a nod of thanks and placed my bag inside of my trunk. The bottom was now solidified so it didn't sink through into the room below it.

A loud pop echoed throughout the Room. Sirius and James both shot up from their bed with yells of surprise. James ended up toppling off of his bed in a tangled mess of limbs and blankets.

Both Lily and Remus broke into loud laughs, but my attention was glued to Sirius.

As soon as he had sat up in the bed he took a look around and I saw panic build in his eyes. He looked around the bed frantically before scouring the room, and when his gaze landed on me he instantly calmed down. I couldn't contain my smirk when I saw his eyes trail across my body.

I should wear formfitting clothes more often.

Sirius scrambled out of the bed and strode over to where I was standing. I watched him approach with wide eyes, and I looked over to see James had gotten up from the floor and Remus and Lily were no longer laughing at him, but all three of them were watching whatever was about to take place.

I stood my ground as Sirius walked right up to me and placed his hands on either side of my face. He pressed his forehead against mine and looked me in the eyes, "How could you be so reckless?"

Whatever I thought he was going to say, it wasn't that. "What?"

From the corner of my eye I saw Lily take a step towards us, "Sirius maybe you should give her a bit of an explanation first before calling her reckless." She paused before continuing, "And put on a shirt."

Sirius seemed reluctant to let me go, but in the end he walked over to his trunk and pulled out a shirt and a pair of pants he could change into.

When both he and James finished changing clothes they joined us at the table where our breakfast had popped into existence.

"So," I swallowed my bite of scrambled eggs, "why am I reckless?" I looked at Lily for an answer because she would most likely give the best explanation.

"When you went to bed last night the four of us went into the pensieve. The memories in the beginning were fine, but then when we got to your fights with Grindelwald and the basilisk we thought Sirius was going to have a heart attack. That or try to join in the fights himself–despite the fact that it wouldn't do anything."

His reactions to my memories made my heart melt because it showed how much he cared about me and my safety.

"I can agree that what I did was pretty reckless, but what else was I supposed to do? I didn't have much of an option with the Basilisk. When Grindelwald attacked Hogsmead I sent my Patronus to get help. And besides its not like I had wanted to duel Grindelwald. As for the attack on Diagon Alley…I blame Riddle and Charlus." I shot James an apologetic look, "No offense."

James shook his head, "None taken."

"So you all believe me? That I'm actually from the future of another dimension where all of you are book characters?"

They all nodded and Remus spoke up, "We believe you, but what I don't get is why you didn't want to tell Peter?"

Sirius and James both nodded while Lily put in her two cents, "Yeah, and what does this have do do with knowing our fates?"

I groaned, "Of all the questions you could ask!" Rubbing my chin I figured Lily's question would be easiest to answer, "I know a lot of things about this dimension, and it's because of that book I had mentioned. Your fates are one of those things." One of the things I plan to change.

"Oh!" James leaned forward in his seat, "What's my fate then?" Remus, Lily, and Sirius leaned forward as well–obviously wanting to know their fates as well.

"Um, yeah, probably not a good idea. You know. The future an all. Don't wanna ruin it!" I hoped my panic wasn't too noticeable, "And besides my very presence here has changed things already."

"Like what?" Sirius asked.

"I'm sorry, but I don't actually know. What I do know, however, is that I'm going to defeat Voldemort." My eyes blazed with determination as I held my fork in a white-knuckled grasp.

"Whoa, whoa, back up!" Sirius' shout ripped me from my thoughts. "What do you mean you're going to defeat Voldemort!?"

I looked around the table to see they were all giving me looks of intense interest and worry. "I mean exactly that: I'm going to defeat Voldemort. Or at least I'm going to have a hand in it." I knew about his horcruxes so I had the means of defeating him. All I had to do was figure out how many he's made already, and how to get them.

"How do you know how to defeat Voldemort?"

I turned my attention onto Lily, "The book from my dimension."

"Alright just what's in this book anyway?" James demanded.

"What do you mean?" I asked innocently.

"You're telling us you know all of these things because of this book. I mean what's it about that lets you know these things?"

"You were all characters in the book. Not the main characters, but characters all the same."

Lily gave me an appraising look, "Is that how you knew about them being animagi?"

All three of the boys tensed up and I just ducked my head with a resigned sigh, "Lily you really don't know when to keep your mouth shut do you?" She ducked her head but I could still see the blush spreading across her cheeks.

"You know? Both of you?"

When both me and Lily looked over at Sirius he tensed up even more. "Yeah we know."

"You told her about them being animagi?" Remus looked a little betrayed and I remembered how I had made some sort of promise that we wouldn't tell anyone about them being animagi.

"I didn't tell her she came to that conclusion herself." I defended.

"How?" James asked.

Lily jumped into the conversation, "Do you remember what happened on the full moon back in December?"

The three boys bowed their heads in thought and I saw realization flash in Sirius' eyes, "Oh yeah! You had been out there and Remus was going to attack you, but some black wolf came out of nowhere and saved you."

Remus paled considerably, "Lily was out there?" He sent me a betrayed look. Probably because I hadn't mentioned that she had been there.

"I was," Lily nodded, "and by then I had already known about you being a werewolf Remus–which is absolutely fine and there's nothing to be ashamed of Remus." Surprise and relief visibly spread over Remus' features. "I also saw how there were three other animals helping to save me. When I asked Danielle why they were there she tried playing innocent, but I figured out that it was the rest of you Marauders." She shook her head at herself, "Now I understand your nicknames."

"Anyway, the main character of the book also defeated Voldemort."

"And because you read about him defeating Voldemort you figure that you can do the same thing?" Sirius seemed skeptical.

I nodded determinedly, "I can and I will."

All four of them gave me hard looks until Sirius spoke up, "I'm going to help you." The other three nodded in agreement.

Opening my mouth I was fully prepared to tell them 'no' when I paused. One of the horcruxes was Hufflepuffs cup, and that was in Bellatrix's vault. There was no way I was breaking into Gringotts, but Sirius was related to her. He might be able to get into it. "We can worry about this later. For now just ask me any more questions you may have."

Sirius didn't seem to happy with my answer but James interrupted before he could say anything. "So," James had a cocky smile, "we Marauders were pretty popular huh?"

I sent him a smile that I hoped didn't look as sad as it felt, "Yeah you were. You even inspired some people." Remus, James, and Sirius all smiled and gave each other high-fives.

"Wait!" We looked at James, "Does that mean you know who The Jesters are?"

My entire body froze up as I croaked out, "What?"

Lily seemed to have had a similar reaction while the three boys were obvious, "Well if were mentioned in the book then it must have at least mentioned who The Jesters are."

Me–being the smooth talker that I am–stumbled my way through my excuse, "Oh uh, well, erm, I mean, uh, yes–No! I mean no they weren't mentioned but, um–"

"Calm down Danielle!" Sirius set a hand in my shoulder, "We're they mentioned or not?"

I did as he said and took a deep breath, "No they weren't." They all sighed, but Lily's was one of relief while the boys' were one of disappointment.

"The only question now is why we didn't tell Peter. A question which you seem to be avoiding." James gave me a pointed look.

Panic started building in my chest as my eyes flicked between all four of them. "It–I can't say."

Sirius persisted, "Can't or won't?"

"I–Can't, I can't! I'm sorry–I really am!–but I just can't tell you."

Lily reached over and grabbed my hand, "Why not?"

"Because he–" I stopped myself before I could say anything. If I told them that Pettigrew was (will be) a Death Eater then the Marauders would be ruined. Devastated. "If I told you it could ruin," I flicked my eyes towards the three Marauders, "things."

My evasiveness only made them more persistent, "Come on Danielle. It can't be that bad!" James tried to assure me.

I snorted, "You don't know that."

"No, we don't, and we won't know unless you tell us." Remus sounded stern.

I knew they deserved to know, but I felt horrible knowing that if they found out their supposed best friend was a Death Eater then they would be torn apart. Unless he wasn't a Death Eater yet. "I need you to tell me if Pettigrew has ever randomly disappeared or given excuses to leave the room–maybe the castle."

They seemed confused about why I asked, but threw each other looks as they tried to think about any times that Peter had randomly left. After a couple minutes they all shook their head negatively.

"And you're sure?" I urged.

James gave an exasperated sign, "Yes were positive. Why does it matter?"

I bit my lip in thought. If what they were saying is true then it's probable Pettigrew has yet to become a Death Eater, but that doesn't mean he won't become one.

Something suddenly wrapped around my leg and I jumped with a loud gasp. Sirius immediately grabbed onto my arms, "What? What is it?"

He followed my gaze to the floor where we both saw Basil slithering her way up my body and onto my shoulders. "~I can feel your distress from a mile away~"

"~Yeah well that's because I'm in distress~"

Sirius tightened his grip on my arms when he heard me speak parseltongue, "Wow that was…rather interesting." I gave him a shaky smile as he slowly sat back into his seat.

"What did she say?"

I looked at Lily, "She said she could feel my distress from a mile away."

"Why are you so distressed? Is it about Peter?" They were all getting more impatient the more I evaded their question.

"Yes." I admitted. "~Basil what should I tell them?~"

"~They will find out eventually. If you tell them now it's possible you can prevent it~"

I nodded, "~Technically he isn't a Death Eater yet~"

"Damn that's hot." We all shot Sirius odd looks, and he held up his hands in defense, "Well it is! Voldemort makes it sound all creepy, but Violet makes it sexy," he sent me a wink.

The corners of my mouth twitched up in a smile, "I'll keep that in mind for future reference." The smile turned into a smirk when I saw his eyes darken.

"Alright you two quit your flirting," Lily reprimanded us. "Danielle just tell us."

I took a deep breath, "In the books Pettigrew was…he was…hewasadeatheater!" I rushed to finish the sentence, wanting this to end as quickly as possible.

They all sat there, trying to puzzle out what I had just said, and when Remus' eyes lit up in anger I knew he had figured it out. "What?" His eyes started turning a golden yellow in his anger.

"Calm down Remus." I held up my hands in a placating gesture even though I was internally sweating with nerves, "If what you guys said was true, and he doesn't randomly have to leave the castle, then there's a chance that he's not."

Lily, James, and Sirius looked between us in confusion, but suddenly Lily's eyes lit up in the same anger, "What do you mean he was a Death Eater?!"

Finally understanding what everyone was so angry about James bolted out of his chair in anger, and Sirius had a vicious snarl on his lips.

I stood up from my own chair and slammed my palms onto the table, "This is exactly why I didn't want to tell you guys, and you all need to calm down right now before you do something stupid." I pointed at James and then his chair, "Now sit your ass down and let's talk about this." James glared at me, but reluctantly took his seat.

"Now," I took a deep breath and slowly let it out, "as I said, Pettigrew was a Death Eater." Growls sounded around the table, "Emphasis on the 'was'. If what you three," I pointed at Remus, James, and Sirius individually, "we're saying was true–about him not randomly disappearing–then he's not a Death Eater."

As I said these words I could see the tension drain out of all of their bodies. I only felt a little bad for what I said next, "That doesn't mean he won't still become one."

"I refuse to believe that!" Sirius stood up so fast that his chair got knocked backwards. "Peter is our best friend, he would sooner die than become one of Voldemorts lackeys!"

A sad smirk graced my features, "Oh really? Shy, timid little Peter Pettigrew who's animagus form is a rat? And as for being his friend I can bet you you're not."

"Of course he's our friend!"

"Then you can tell me his favorite color?"

"Beige." "Purple." "Gold." The three Marauders looked at each other in surprise.

Remus shook his head, "His favorite color is definitely beige."

"Then why do I remember him saying it was purple?" James raised an expectant eyebrow.

"He's a Gryffindor. His favorite color is obviously gold."

I hit Sirius on the shoulder, "Just because he's a Gryffindor doesn't mean good would be his favorite color."

"It's possible," James spoke up, "Sirius is in Gryffindor and his favorite color is red." Sirius nodded.

"Then Remus–or you Sirius–can tell me what James' favorite color is?" I placed my hands on my hips as I waited for Remus to answer.

He immediately responded, "Emerald green." When I raised a brow at such a descriptive color Sirius elaborated, "He says it reminds him of Lily's eyes."

A blush immediately spread across James' cheeks when Lily glared over at him. Beneath her glare, however, I could see her surprise.

"Remus' favorite color is orange."

Remus looked over at Sirius in surprise, "How'd you know?"

Sirius shrugged, "Cause you're my best friend."

After Sirius said those words the air grew fairly awkward. They seemed to come to a small realization that they weren't as close to Peter as they had first thought. Whether or not they'll admit it is another story.

"Alright let's take this one step at a time. We're certain that Pettigrew isn't a Death Eater?" The other four all nodded their heads and struggled to get comfortable in their chairs. "Then if he's not a Death Eater we can still prevent him from becoming one–which means we cannot treat him any differently." I could not stress that last part enough.

"You must be joking!" I raised an indifferent brow at James' outburst. "You just told us he's supposed to be a Death Eater, and you want us to ignore that?!"

Before I could say anything Lily stood up and looked James calmly in the eye, "Danielle is right James." His reaction was immediate. The anger drained out of him and he watched Lily with dazed eyes. "We need to make sure he doesn't become a Death Eater, and that means we have to treat him the same. Even better than before actually."

"But how?" James' voice almost sounded defeated.

I stepped in, "Well for starters we can find out his favorite color," that pulled smiles out of everybody, "and I think we should give him a day where he feels included. Like you guys do whatever he wants for a day. Then after that we'll just have to see."

Stepping away from the table I tapped my trunk so I could fit it into my pocket. "I need you all to promise me you won't tell another soul about what we've talked about these passed two days."

All four of them looked between each other before all of the attention was turned onto Lily. She held her wand in her last hand and looked me in the eye, "I, Lily Marie Evans, swear on my magic that I won't tell anyone else–verbal or otherwise–about the events talked about here in the Room of Requirement for the passed two days, so mote it be." The tip of her wand pulsed, sealing her oath.

I gave Lily a wide-eyed state of disbelief, "Lily you didn't have to go that far. Your word would have sufficed."

Anything else I would have said was interrupted by Remus, "I, Remus John Lupin, swear on my magic that I won't tell anyone else–verbal or otherwise–about the events talked about here in the Room of Requirement for the passed two days, so mote it be." Both Sirius and James quickly followed suit.

The fact that they were so ready to swear in their magic brought tears to my eyes, and I tried to wipe them away but I knew they had already seen them. Quickly pulling myself together I gave each of them a nod, "There was no reason to go through such lengths to keep my secret, but I thank you all the same."

Casting a quick Tempus I nodded to myself and started walking to the door. When I reached for the handle Sirius called out after me, "Where are you going?"

Calmly turning around I explained to him, "As fun as today has been it is Tuesday. We've already missed our first two classes." At that Lily and Remus quickly gathered her belongings and joined me at the door while James and Sirius sat there unfazed.

I went to open the door, but I was stopped again–this time by James, "Just one more question then you can go, I promise! If you knew Peter," he spat Pettigrews name, and deep down I knew it was a bad idea to tell them, "was a Death Eater, then does that mean you know who other Death Eaters are?"

All he got for an answer was a smirk as I tapped the side of my nose.

When I had left the Room the four of them looked at each other until James asked, "What was that supposed to mean?"

Lily rolled her eyes, "It's a muggle thing. She means it's a secret," and with that she left the Room with Remus following after her.

AN: I was hesitant to have Danielle tell them about Peter being a Death Eater but I ended up doing it anyway. Can someone please tell me if my story is still good or not? I've been really uncertain about how good these last few chapters have been.
