This is basically the Okina-stakeout chapter from Yosuke's and Chie's perspective. Sorry if it is a bit shorter than the original one.

Yosuke was usually a patient teenager and he didn't mind hanging out with Midori, but it was already twenty minutes past their agreed time. He sighed and decided to wait a bit longer. Maybe the train had some difficulties. He glanced around and could've sworn he saw a real shady person who was looking at him. Probably my imagination...
"Y-y-yosuke?! What are you doing here?!"
Recognizing the voice he slowly turned his head around in fear because of the person he was likely to see. As expected, his crush and at the moment the last person he wanted to see, Chie Satonaka, was looking at him with a mix of surprise and anger. Like usual she wore her summer clothes, but the boy ignored that and pointed his finger at her while countering:
"What are you doing here?!" Like he expected the thick headed girl clenched her fists as she yelled:
"I asked first!"
"I don't need to to tell you anything!", Yosuke yelled back while taking a step closer and Chie exclaimed with a frown:
"Then I don't need to tell YOU anything!"
"Why don't you go away then?!"
"I'm waiting for someone here!"
"Then wait somewhere else!"
"Why should I?!...You know what, I need to make a phone call, so be glad I'm not around then!"
"Fine!" By the end of that exchange both of them were quite red in the face because of their anger and breathed quite heavenly from it. Chie harrumphed as she walked off as she took out her phone and Yosuke had to held back the urge to scream in frustration. Why was she so hard on him? He tried, but every time she is so repellent that it made him angry. He sighed, knowing that he should be the calm one in such a situation but he couldn't help it. The boy took out his phone as he wanted to know where Midori was, but saw a message sent to him mere moments after his argument with Chie began. Speak of bad timing... He opened the message and slowly widened his eyes and mouth in shock while reading it:
"If you ask where I am, the Amagi Inn had an emergency and since Chie-sempai isn't in town (because I said I would need to do some errands with her), I need to help out in her stead. So, because of that I'm pretty sure that she is with you right now, so use that opportunity to get at least back into the friendzone. And don't tell her I told you to do that. Have fun! #WinkWink #TotallyNotPlanned #I'mAGenius. " After he processed what actually was standing there he wasn't sure if he should give the American a hug the next time he saw him or just break his face. He was happy that Midori would go to such lengths to give them a chance to reconcile. On the other hand that was the same reason he was angry at him: How was he supposed to do that? Yosuke didn't had a plan what to do and therefore this plan of Midori was destined to be doomed. Unless the exchange student wanted Yosuke to be himself, only less being a jerk, which would be ridiculous in his opinion. Since he didn't saw any other way though, he decided to roll with that – if Chie would come back.
"Okay, you can do it...Focus on getting along with her...like in the past...just talking...no yelling..." He repeated that sentence several times to himself and took a deep breath. At least now he felt a bit ready. The Magician saw Chie groan loudly as she deactivated her cellphone and walked up to him with a slight blush and averted eyes. Instead of stopping in front of him however she walked past him and Yosuke was confused. It seemed that she didn't want to spent time with him after all. That thought was about to end in his mind as the Chariot turned around with a small pout and demanded:
"What are you waiting for? Come on." The Junes Boy couldn't understand why she agreed to this, but he didn't question it, since he got the hope that by the end of the day they could stop being enemies. He smiled as he walked after her, not knowing that Midori gave Chie the same orders as he got.

Steak. One of the greatest inventions in her eyes. The moment they were only nearby, the restaurant had to test her ability to hold back her inner desire to just steal everything they had. Chie tried really hard to keep the drool back and didn't care what Yosuke was thinking about her, thus making her not realize his soft face pointed at her. As they were sitting down she managed to calm down a bit, but still, her eyes sparkled from excitement and her hands were shaking as they held the silverware. At least she was able to talk normally now. When she looked at the boy, he immediately looked around, which made her suspicious. Was he just staring at her? She shrugged it off and thought about what to say. Since Midori tricked her into it, she might as well face it like a fighter. The plus side of this was that she got free steak, so she wasn't that angry. Sadly both of them were sitting in awkward silence with no idea what to talk about. After a while the waiter came with a filet mignon and Chie instantly put a little piece in her mouth. Seeing the small piece, she decided to enjoy every single bit about it. The moment she put it in her mouth and chewed on it, she moaned in delight:
"Ahhhh~! Midori is really missing out right now!"
"Let me guess, one of the errands you're doing for him", Yosuke said and Chie stopped for a moment. Did she really started a conversation by that? Quickly shaking it off, she replied casually because of the filet:
"Yeah, he wanted me to test the steak here in his stead since he's busy in the Amagi Inn...This is so good~!" The Chariot needed to give her benefactor a kiss when she was back since the steak was the best she tasted thus far. Then she noticed that Yosuke waited until she was done with loving steak. He really knew her well. Still, she ignored that and saw him getting a bit grumpy as he said:
"Great, you get the free steak while I have to check out some toy stores for him."
"Why's that?". Chie asked confused, wondering why Midori would make him do that. She could understand the steak house, it made her more comfortable in talking with Yosuke, but a toy store was nothing for the two of them. The Junes boy shrugged and explained:
"He said that is to have some talk material with this new kid in town, Ken Amada. You know...the other user."
"Oh, that makes sense I guess." The girl nodded in understanding. Maybe he interacted with the kid a bit more to know about that. And with that they were in silence again, not knowing where to go from there. It was very awkward, as they looked around like they would get an idea from their surroundings. Because of that she was happy when her classmate slowly began to say while poking around in his meat:
"...Soooo...how's the training going?" Her grip tightened around her silverware and she pressed her teeth together, remembering their time training and sadly also the day where their relation became worse. She took a deep breath to calm her down and said offhandedly:
"Oh, it's alright I guess. Midori isn't that fast but I learn a lot about tactics and ground defense from him...still, I think you were...a little bit better." To be honest, Midori was pretty average if it came to anything sports related. He only gets the upper hand by using his thinking. That didn't meant that he was weak, since she was unable to hit him after a few sparring hours. Seemingly the exchange student analyzed her more than enough and that frustrated her a last part of her sentece was mumbled and she averted her eyes from her classmate, who luckily didn't heard that, thus asking:
"What was that?"
"Nothing!...How is...the job going?", Chie quickly said, trying to prevent any more slips from her part. She was interested anyways, so she had an interested look on her face. Because of that he scratched his head a bit embarrassed before replying:
"It pretty good...My dad entrusts me with more responsibilities.. You could say it's only a matter of time before becoming a floor manager."
"So you do want to inherit the store later! I knew it!", the girl exclaimed proudly. She always had a nose for such things. It was the same with Yukiko, even if she first denied it. Of course the Magician reacted the same way and waved his hand a bit:
"I never said that!...Maybe I will though. I don't dislike it. But I think of going overseas for more experience. Want to make the town better with the Junes, you know?" The moment he mentioned overseas, her heart began to hurt. Yosuke was thinking about going away, even if it wasn't permanently and she didn't want to get separated from him, even if she would say otherwise. She gulped down a piece of meat and asked a bit unsure:
"You wanna go overseas?"
"Yeah, I mean partner has been doing it all time and you know how smart that guy is. Can't hurt."
"I get it...Hm...the boy from Inaba, going out to the wide world to gain more experience in the business area, for the sake of his heritage! That's sounds awesome!", Chie exclaimed, trying to sound excited and Yosuke shook his head in amusement:
"Hey, I'm actually a city kid, remember? Though I'm more comfortable here now I guess...But seriously you're dramatic as always, Chie."
"Let me have the fun!", the tomboy said in a playful pout and suppressed a laugh when the Magician panicked a bit:
"I didn't meant it as an insult! Anyways, you don't need to be lonely. I wouldn't be gone for too long." This made her blush a bit. When was the last time he actually flirted with her? She then replied in a joking tone:
"Please, I wouldn't even notice if you're gone." Luckily he didn't took it serious and had a laugh with her. It made her wonder how a forced meeting with peace at mind worked wonders. Not wanting their conversation to end, she decided on a topic they didn't discussed yet:
"Oh yeah, whaddya think about Midori?" It was weird how Midori was one of the main topics, but she shrugged it mentally off and Yosuke looked surprised that they used the American as a basis, before he said while leaning back:
"Midori? I guess he's okay? He's still kind of an asshole from what I hear from other people and besides of us he only gets along with Kou, Nanako and Shinjiro-san, if you want to count that guy in. Other than that I'm glad he's...well...not perfect." Chie nodded in agreement while also leaning back and gave her opinion.:
"Yeah, I first kinda thought he would be the perfect American character like in those bad fanfics, but he does have some flaws. Like having a short temper...Speaking of which, what actually happened in Junes?" The Chariot heard rumors about what happened. Some said he had a fight with somebody, others said he found gold and others said that he was in the middle of a ritual. Because of that she looked at the most reliable source intrigued and the Junes worker closed the distance between them and whispered:
"Since everybody already knows in Inaba I can tell you...I heard that Teddie was stuck in a vent somehow and Midori spent an hour to get him out. By the end of it the excitement of finally succeeding made his scream a battle cry and stuff like "Who's the boss". Seriously I thought I heard everything, but that was priceless! I wish I was there to record it!" It was very hard for the girl to focus on what he said because she was literally hypnotized by his quiet laugh and goofy grin. The more she was able to talk with him on a normal basis she regretted more and more not just confessing her feeling too instead to get angry at him. Still she couldn't raise any suspicion and commented amused:
"I bet someone did that already...I wonder how good of a cook he actually is. He told me that he and his mom would be one of the few people who are better at cooking than the ones here...Seriously, now that I think about it, it makes my mouth water!" In that moment she was quite sad that the filet was so small and her imagination just made her hungrier. Because of that she almost hugged the waiter for bringing another one, yet again for free. Yosuke looked a bit skeptical about Midori's cooking, considering how bad of a cook Chie was, but he simply said:
"Well, you're the expert in such things, so I trust you on that when I eat something from him."
"Oh, before I forget it, he doesn't cook Japanese for some reason", Chie added, remembering the Amagi Inn and how he refused to cook the food. It was quite weird, because he seemed so sure that no matter what he would do, it would be bad.
"Maybe he dislikes it?", the boy guessed and Chie shrugged.
"Could be."
After a while they finally decided to go out, even if Yosuke had to drag her out, but there was a limit to how generous somebody could be. The next stop was the toy store the Magician talked about and Chie patted her full stomach in delight. But then a thought, that was creeping around in her head since the start of the events that were unfolding at the moment, appeared again. Seeing that she looked down, Yosuke stopped and raised an eyebrow. Chie wasn't sure if this was fair towards the American, but she couldn't help it completely, therefore she asked Yosuke unsure:
"...Say...do you think we can trust Midori?" Yosuke's face instantly frowned and Chie was afraid that she made him angry, but instead of a scolding she saw him sigh deeply and reply with a serious tone:
"...To be honest I don't know. I believe him that he "lost" his memories and that he's on the good side, but the memory thing could be dangerous, you know? Maybe he's...one of them without knowing. And then there's the thing with...Adachi." The moment he mentioned him, his face darkened because of the anger and the girl knew that she had to calm him down. From all the people in the team, Yosuke hated Adachi the most. Not only because he killed Saki-sempai, but because of how similar they were. For Yosuke it was like seeing an alternative version of himself and Chie shuddered, knowing that the Junes boy was the closest in becoming like the criminal. Because of that she said reassuring:
"Look, I know he's an asshole, but Midori has a point in using him." This however wasn't enough for him and he spat out frustrated:
"If he would only do that I wouldn't complain, but he wants to help that bastard...we should just get that guy back into prison when we can."
"I can see why you want that...I guess Midori is a bit naive when it comes to Adachi...But we should give him the benefit of the doubt...even if I don't trust him like I trust Yu", the Chariot reasoned, feeling bad to think like that. But they had to or else they could possibly regret it. Yosuke just mumbled a simple "Yeah" before they walked again.

By the time the sun set the atmosphere between them was way better than before and they now were on the way to get Chie to the train station. Yosuke could've gave her a ride on his scooter, but he didn't. That would've been to soon. The boy could feel how they got closer again and he had to thank Midori for "forcing" them. On his own he would've been too stubborn, since he would've always focused on their struggle that led to their bad relation.
"...You know, I missed this." The Magician looked up confused and tried hard to gape in embarrassment when he saw Chie: She had a soft smile on her face while she looked at him. Her hands were behind her and the dawn made her look like an angel. He shook his head and put up his confused look again. The girl chuckled shortly and elaborated pleased:
"That we talk and hang out like that reminds me from back then...being friends. Sure, we had our problems, but that was only friendly. Why are we so aggressive to each other now? I think...we should forget what happened back then." The boy couldn't believe his ears: Did she just offered peace? He slowly closed the distance as he thought about it. They would be friends again, start over again, but that way they weren't lovers. Knowing how greedy that sounded he put together his resolve and be happy with what he got. When he was closed enough, he extended his hand and asked awkwardly:
"So...Friends?"
"Friends", Chie replied joyfully and instead of accepting the handshake she hugged him and buried her face in his chest. Shocked at what happened, Yosuke froze for a moment, but then he wrapped his arms around her too. How long has it been when he could feel her warmth in peace, smell her wonderful scent? However before he could do something stupid, he broke the hug and the two of them stared at each other for a short, embarrassing moment, before they began to laugh loud in content. When they calmed down Yosuke wiped out a tear and said amused:
"...That was kinda cheesy."
"You tell me", Chie replied with a chuckle and both of them realized that they arrived at the train.
"See ya in class then", the tomboy said softly and waved him goodbye as she got to her train. Yosuke on the other hand got on his scooter and drove off, wanting to yell in happiness. Instead he sighed tired and only had one thought in his mind.
...I still love her. I sure do.
