Hi everyone, and I'm updating two stories at once tonight :O
I wrote this chapter in two separate bits so blame me if the mood slightly changes. I messed up again. Apart from that, this chapter is hinting about Felix's father, who may or may not be involved later on...
Also, can you guess what each person is tested on in the competition? Comment and try and guess because 'tis fun.
Also also, thank you again for all the support and wow! O_O 6 followers for both my new stories. I have three I need to keep up now, but don't worry, I shall try! :) Also, !HUG ALERT! Because hugs are fun :D
Sit back and enjoy this chapter!
"Felix Klauss, please report to the Administrator's office."
Said teen raised his head to see eyes of both friend and foe pointed at him, and he got up shakily, pulse starting to accelerate. He gave a quick glance to Ben, whose gaze reassured him, before walking out of the silent room into the equally quiet corridor. The journey was quick, thanks to memory, and Felix soon found himself in front of the Administrator's office, the door looming over his small frame almost threateningly. Hearing a loud cough from within, he took it as a signal to entered, and did so to see the uninterested woman in purple sitting idly at her desk, two large piles of paper placed either side of her.
"We aren't late today, I see. Well done. Now sit." She said, and the German obeyed, sitting with back straight. He observed her fiddling with her fountain pen before placing it down and continuing.
"Now, Felix, I have requested you to inform you of some news. It's about your father."
"Ya, what it is, if I may ask?" He said quietly, and the Administrator took note at the way he slightly shivered at the mention of his father.
"He would like you to return to Stuttgart with him. Now before you worry, don't, as I know the temperament of this man and I shall be giving you the option of passing off this offer of his."
Felix froze up at the mention of this and his pupils shrank slightly as he maintained contact with the Administrator. The woman's eyes softened with concern at the German boy, who remained rigid.
"Now, Felix, you do not have to return to your home. I know from the files the way he has treated you, and even I must say I am disgusted. And remember that he cannot harm you as long as you remain here."
Felix remained still, but his gaze had obverted to nothing, contemplating the options. Suddenly, there was a loud bang as the door burst open revealing Ben who was holding onto the doorframe and panting like a worn out dog.
"Felix, please don't leave!" he cried, but the German did not turn.
"How do you know about this?" the Administrator demanded, her eyes shooting daggers at Ben.
"You left ya microphone on, ma'am. And Felix, please don't leave! God knows what will happen if you do!" the Bostonian said, walking over and kneeling down to face his friend, putting his bandaged hands on the other's shaking shoulders.
"Please, please, Felix. Please don't go. I don't want to think about what that cheap bastard will do to ya if you go back. I know he's ya father, but he's a monster if he thinks he can get away with what he did! I mean, he's dragging you away just as you got settled in with us. The whole team like ya, even Patrice, though he never shows it. And if that little sap thinks he can drag you away from your team, we'll make him remember not to mess with the REDs! We're only tryin' to protect you, Felix. I'm tryin' to protect you. And you can't just walk away like that and give up, because that is what cowards… do…" the Bostonian trailed off, closing his eyes tight as he pulled Felix into a tight, protective hug.
"A-and from being ya best friend, I know you aren't a coward, despite what everyone thinks."
He quickly released the German from the hug and stayed there, kneeling, waiting for an answer.
"B-Ben, you know I w-would never leave the t-team. And I am not a-about to now." Felix said shakily, giving a quick glimpse to the Administrator, who seemed to sigh in relief.
"Are you sure, Felix?"
"Ya. Positive, Miss." He replied before getting up, Ben following his movements, a warm smile on his face.
"Right. Now, that is about all the news I have for you today. Now go away and prepare for the competition or something." She said emotionlessly, waving her hand in dismissal. The two teens exited and made their way down the corridors once more, giving shy smiles to one another.
"Why didn't you say yes?" Ben asked out of the blue, and Felix looked at him, perplexed.
"W-what do you m-mean?"
"I mean in any other circumstance you would have said yes, because we all know that you're afraid o' him. But… why didn't you?" the Bostonian stopped in his tracks and stared into Felix's eyes, demanding an answer.
"B-because it is like y-you said, you will protect m-me no matter what. And that makes m-me feel safe, knowing that people are willing to give that s-sacrifice. Danke, Ben."
"Uh…" Ben trailed off, face going slightly red as he rubbed the back of his neck.
"It means thank you in G-German." He stuttered, giving a shy smile.
"Oh, yeah, I forgot." Ben said, face going completely red now as the two continued walking, this time turning toward the courtyard.
"W-what is everyone doing?" Felix asked, panting slightly as they started to run.
"I think they're all playin' baseball or something. Let's go join in." He said cheerily as they arrived, halting on the cool grass.
"Uh, n-no thank you, I would prefer to just s-sit and watch." Felix said, already moving to where Ivan was sitting, looking bored.
"Oh, OK then. Don't forget to cheer for me!" Ben shouted as he joined the queue.
Felix plonked himself down next to Ivan, the giant ten acknowledging him with a smile.
"Ah, so little baby decides to join us. That is good." He said, patting Felix on the back with a massive hand.
"Hello, I-Ivan." Was all Felix said, leaning back on his hands and sighing contently. Suddenly, Keith could be seen running up to both of them before throwing his hat on the grass in frustration.
"That bloody wanker!" He yelled, looking over at the BLU Scout before giving him the finger, "That was in, for God's sake! Just 'cos you're afraid of losing!"
Keith grumpily joined the pair on the grass, placing the hat back on his head, patting it down sternly as he lied down.
"So you are out?" Ivan asked jokingly.
"Of course I'm out, I wouldn't be walking over to you ladies to have tea and biscuits now, would I?" Keith replied angrily, turning away from the Russian, who snorted with laughter.
Felix couldn't help but chuckle too.
