"My goodness Fitzgerald, it's been two weeks and she won't shut up about Disney. Thankfully, she talked herself to sleep because I was about to grab the Benadryl." Mellie fussed
"Oh stop it! Still? I thought she was just driving Liv and I insane. She falls asleep in her Mickey Mouse ears every night." Fitz sighed
"Yeah, I saw the pic Liv posted. I like her, Olivia. The day she defended Chloe that day that I acted a donkey at the tea party, I liked her. That's the kind of woman I want around my daughter. Strong, career woman, independent and dependable. You better never let that one go." Mellie admitted
"I plan on keeping her around forever. Chloe is fond of her and has been from the jump. I'm proud of the turn around you've made though." Fitz replied
"Well, life has a way of humbling you. The way you get them is how you lose them. I walked out on you guys for this man who walked out on me. I was caught up in the moment and the thrill that I didn't realize what I'd be missing out on." Mellie vented
"Better late than never to realize it. Chloe welcomed you back with open arms and that is all that matters." Fitz assured
"Thank you, Fitz. You're really the best." Mellie said
"Tell me something I don't know." Fitz joked
"Ha! You're a dick! Thanks for bringing Chloe over to sit with me, this bed rest is no joke!" Mellie replied
"Anytime, you sure you're gonna be okay by yourself?" Fitz questioned
"I'll be fine. My on-call nurse should be here any minute. Can you grab me some ice though?" Mellie inquired
"Yeah I will. I might as well get used to becoming the errand boy, Liv will-" Fitz started
"Fitzgerald Thomas Grant the THIRD! You're having a kid? Omg why didn't you say anything?" Mellie gasped
"We haven't told anyone yet. So please don't tell her that I told you? We found out at Disney actually." Fitz admitted
"My lips are sealed shut. But OMG seriously? Another smushy baby in this clan? I'm so happy for you two! Chloe's gonna be a big sister twice in one year! This is amazing!" Mellie rambled
"She's about 7 weeks along so still in the early stages. I'm excited to be a new dad again, kind of scared but excited nonetheless." Fitz admitted
"Well if you need a refresher course, you can always keep Carter when you feel like it." Mellie offered
"Thanks, Mel. I'll have to take you up on that. Oh it sounds like your nurse is here. Call me if you go into labor!" Fitz yelled as he left
Meanwhile at OPA
Liv was puking her brains out yet again. That morning sickness was no joke and it had been the 4th time she thrown up since this morning. She could keep nothing down, her nose had become super sonic and she looked pale. Abby took notice.
"Um, Olivia? Are you okay?" Abby asked
"I'm fine, why do you ask?" Olivia lied
"Seriously? This is the second time you've thrown up since I been here. Either you had some bad food or you're pregnant." Abby spat
Olivia stood in silence, shifting her weight.
"I'm gonna go with the latter. We had dinner yesterday and you didn't have a glass of wine. You always have wine, even for breakfast." Abby spat again
"How's the case going?" Olivia said hoping to distract Abby as she left the room
"Oh no, you're not leaving until you confirm it. Olivia, we're besties! Why didn't you tell me?" Abby asked
"I'm only 7 weeks along. I had an appointment the day after we got back from Disney. The blood samples didn't get mixed up like last time. I'm really having his kid, Fitzgerald Grant's kid. You don't think it's too soon?" Olivia rambled on
"No, Liv I don't. His daughter loves you! He loves you! It's all happening like it's supposed to! Destiny had it this way!" Abby assured
"Okay, it's just all that stuff with D really took a toll on me and I just want to be happy." Olivia honestly admitted
"Yes I know baby. That man hurt you bad but Fitz has loved you throughout it all! His daughter adores you and hell, even his ex-wife does too! You are meant to be by his side. This is the happiness you've always wanted." Abby said in an encouraging tone
"You're right, Abby. It's funny because Fitz and I had this conversation before we went to Disney and boom. We're beginning a life together. He's perfect for me and to me. But Abby, please don't tell Huck or Harrison. Or really anyone else for that matter. I'll tell them in due time." Olivia replied
"My lips are shut. I love you Livvy and I'm so happy for you. I can't wait to spoil that baby! Let's get out of here!" Abby yelled
Fitz came home to see Olivia sprawled on the couch, still in her work clothes. He first carried Chloe to her room, came back downstairs and carried Liv to their room. She stirred a little as he carried her, sending a smile across Fitz's face. He laid her down in bed and laid at her side as he watched her sleep. He placed his hands on her stomach, rubbing circles and imagining her extremely swollen. A tear fell from his eye as he thought about how he was granted a second chance with love. This child made purely from love and not drunk intentions, with someone he truly loved unconditionally. Olivia's ice fluttered open as she was greeted with a kiss on the forehead.
"Hi." Olivia whispered
"Hi." Fitz whispered back
"Abby knows I'm pregnant. She caught me right after I threw up." Olivia blurted out
"I accidentally told Mellie." Fitz sheepishly admitted
Olivia gasped
"Don't worry, her lips are shut. She said we can watch Carter once he's born to touch up our skills." Fitz said quickly
"That's okay, I guess. When do we tell our families and the world?" Olivia questioned
"Umm I guess we have a brunch or something with our parents. They still haven't met you and I haven't met yours either." Fitz suggested
"And the world?" Olivia asked once more
"We'll think of something cute. I thought of poses for Chloe and Carter though. They can both wear those dumb Mickey Mouse ears." Fitz said
"That'll be really cute, maybe we can do a sibling shoot once our baby is here, where Chloe is their protector." Olivia added
"Hmmm I like that." Fitz smiled
He held her as he mumbled his favorite tune of the moment.
"It'd be a lie if I didn't say, just the other day, I dreamt of white picket fences and children playing instruments. A lot of incense in one instance, I saw your face. You were full of Grace, at least that's what we named her. My angel had an angel, and I was so thankful. I know I barely know you but, I think you're so amazing. Fascinating, breath-taking, more than enough, my inspiration."
