Gone Not Forgotten

Chapter 26

Hayley got to the Bayou, Jackson was at his trailer. He walked out when she approached. Uncomfortable silence fell between them as Jackson showed Hayley where Caroline was still sitting among the rebellious wolves. Hayley walked up and took Caroline by the arm.

She never thought she would be happy to see Hayley. Hayley lead her out of the group saying what sounded like a bitter goodbye to Jackson.

Caroline and Hayley made it back to the quarter in silence. "What did he find out?" Hayley broke the silence as they approached the house. She feared the safety of her daughter.

"Everything," Caroline answered in a whisper but knowing that Hayley could still hear her as if she shouted. Caroline still remembers everything, the searing pain followed by Finn digging through all her thoughts and secrets. He knew everything.

She walked inside, Klaus wasn't around but Elijah and Rebekah were. It was understandable that they wanted to know what happened and why their brother let her go, she didn't want to discuss it but would tell them anyway.

"He's working with someone else, a witch named Serena, she let me go against what Finn wanted," Caroline began.

"Serena, she helped me get out of that prison. Was there anybody else there?" Rebekah informed starting to come to some conclusions of her own.

"No, but I heard her say something about Cassie," Caroline gave her a quizzical look. Rebekah looked shocked.

"What about Finn?" Someone questioned from the doorway. Everyone turned there attention to the source, Klaus stood leaning against the door jam.

"He knows about Hope about everything. He-" She stopped herself, she didn't think they needed to know how he got the information.

Klaus knew what she meant, knew what he did. It was powerful magic that sometimes left its victims dead beyond the help of vampire blood. "We're leaving," Klaus demanded.

"Leaving and going where?" Rebekah wanted to know.

"Marcel is working on it," Klaus gave a vague answer.

"How Niklaus," Elijah questioned for farther details.

"Davina and Kol are working on an anti-magic boundary spell."

Elijah shook his head, not understanding why all of a sudden he trusted Kol and Davina when he knew they were trying to kill him. Klaus would get what he wanted because no matter what it takes Elijah would protect Hayley and her daughter. Elijah wasn't too fearful for their safety at the hands of Kol and Davina, as he was Finn, Esther, Mikael, and no Serena.

Everyone was grabbing the necessities in order to leave for Klaus's new safe house quick. Caroline stayed downstairs with Hope, seeing that all her stuff was still in the hotel. Klaus walked into the room, Caroline looked up at him then brought her attention back to Hope. They haven't talked since the day Caroline confessed her feeling to Klaus.

Klaus bent over and picked up Hope. He sat on the couch beside Caroline. "Do you trust Kol," Caroline broke the silence that filled the room.

"No," He answered flatly. "It's what's best for my daughter," Klaus smiled down at Hope. Caroline understood what he meant. "Is it true," Klaus asked out of the blue.

"Is w-what true?" Caroline knew what he wanted to know.

"All of it," he didn't clarify much.

"Finn took it all including the knowledge of Hope," Klaus continued to look at her. "He knows my secrets, all of them, including the ones about you." He did it again; she was doing all the confessing.
